Maybe this will really be the last one... until the postnatal one.

Yeah Oli, my DH has threatened me with plastic bags, a pampers bed sheet, and old towels! Although our sofas are so old (not replacing until bump has arrived and is passed the dribbly stage) it's more his car seats he's worried about

Olihan · 04/12/2006 20:28

Olihan · 04/12/2006 20:31

BM, well at least you know where his priorities lie, it would be divine retribution if your waters went while you were in the car .

weirdbird · 04/12/2006 20:32

Its so depressing, every time I look at that list and I am nearly at the end of it and I think all these people are gonna have there new baby before me and I feel so

Olihan · 04/12/2006 20:35

Yup, me too weirdbird, especially with my track record for being late. I'm definitely going to be pretty much last and at the moment it feels like forever, just to my due date [fed up emoticon]!

BaileysMilkshake · 04/12/2006 20:39

I asked MW today about castor oil - as ladies of a certain age with kids as old as me keep harping on about it....

MW (and it's the one I really like) said 'NO' as it will loosen my bowels and babies and then they will think bump is in distress and haul me in!

She suggested sex - bravely as DH came with me today - but then I reminded her about MIL and she agreed that was no good!

DD was 10 days late and latest inductions here are after 2 weeks which puts me around 19-23 Dec. As consolation MW said body now knows what it;s doing and I should not go as late as with DD

northernmama · 04/12/2006 20:40

I think I'd be okay if I could get a decent sleep...

However, I keep getting told that all this lack of sleep is just getting me ready for bf'ing after MUB gets here, which just drives me crazy because at least between feedings I'll get SOME kind of rest!!!

Plus, no one else around me is expecting #3 and they have no idea how hard it is...to be waiting and tired and still have all the regular stuff to do and worry about. In fact, several of them ask me to look after their little ones for a while because I'm not working!!!

northernmama · 04/12/2006 20:43

On another note, I am truly obsessing about the baby not moving enough.... today I have counted and counted and counted movements...

Maybe it's because I'm so tired, but last night I really was up about 10 times with contractions, peeing or whatever. The owrst night yet! We were at a Christmas party last night and I had contractions every 2 or 3 minutes for 1 1/2 hours. So I made hubby take us all home and of course when lying down... bye bye...but they came back a little and well, I'm just grouchy about it today!

Olihan · 04/12/2006 20:45

BM, I hate to rain on your parade and contradict your mw but I was 5 days late with ds then the full 12 days late with dd. My body definitely knew what it was doing once the pessary took effect - she was born in under 2 1/2 hours from first contraction but it made no difference to how late she was in the first place. Just focus on the fact that you will have your baby by Christmas, whatever happens.

lorie · 04/12/2006 20:47

weirdbird, yes it's frustrating but just think some of us could 'over run', you could be early and still get to have your baby before me! xx

Fingers crossed...

BaileysMilkshake · 04/12/2006 20:49

Thanks Oli - parade now cancelled

Just going to go back to the pineapple and demand DH gets me a fried rice and curry sauce for tea tomorrow - heartburn be dammed - I have Rennie!

By the way Oli - are you really munching that many Rennie a day - I quite like them and would eat more but pack says max of 10. Then again calcium is good for bubs - so confused!

satinshoes · 04/12/2006 20:53

i'm so glad you're all weeing too

i'm knackered. not sleeping. keep being teased by contrax too.

it will happen soon though....

Olihan · 04/12/2006 20:56

Sorry, BM, I wasn't trying to upset you, just didn't want you to have too many false expectations and then be as gutted as I was when dd didn't arrive and didn't arrive and didn't arrive . I am getting through a ridiculous number of Rennies a day but my mw has said it's fine, apparently if you OD on them they give you wind - dh's response to that was 'well, you wouldn't notice that anyway!' Charming .

BaileysMilkshake · 04/12/2006 20:56

I want baby so bad - cos:
A) I want my baby
B) My MIL can go home!

Sort of mentioned to a friend on 'the' phone tonight that when baby gets here DH and I will be bed juggling - hopefully she picked up on that and knows she s just here for DD and not for any input with bump!

What am I saying of course she did'nt. Not only is she tactless, but she doesnt pick up subtle hints either!

northernmama · 04/12/2006 20:58

Pineapple is on my list for the grocery today! The sidestepping on the stairs is a bit complicated for me as my hips are so sore, coming down especially hurts like nuts!!

BaileysMilkshake · 04/12/2006 20:59

It's OK Oli - DH and I have a motto 'we never do things the easy way' So I totally expect this baby to do what it wants and ignore my desires

BTW my last post was about MIL being tactless - not friend

Slink · 04/12/2006 21:00

Balieys milkshake, my mw said try nipple stimulation???? have to say though i have tried and it has not worked, sex dh said he would call the police as i MADE HIM last time.

At the mo i have quite bad period like pain and bad wind???? but then i have been thinking i am in labour most daysxx

BaileysMilkshake · 04/12/2006 21:00

NM, I had bad hips today too! I had walked about 2.5 miles and by the time I got back to my front door could barely lift my leg high enough to get in the house! However within 5 minutes of sitting down all was normal - what's that all about?

northernmama · 04/12/2006 21:02

Okay, this baby is NOT moving much...only 3 in the last hour, so I need to go eat and lie down to see if I can get'er jumping!! Sh@#$!!

I need to get nesting again or something so I don't obsess about this!

BaileysMilkshake · 04/12/2006 21:04

Slink, I would love to jump on DH - and I am sure he would'nt mind if we did spoons, so he doesnt have to be reminded he's lying next to a whale - but MIL is in the next room and that kind of takes all the enthusiasm out of it.

Oh and BTW the woman is still regailing me witht ales of her own

Have tried nipple stimulation - but have to do it for ages several times a day, and as I am leaking from that area it's very messy!

satinshoes · 04/12/2006 21:04

northernmama, my bump has slowed down on the movement front too. go have a bath and knock on the side of the bath. quite often wakes my bump up and gets it moving.

northernmama · 04/12/2006 21:05

It's all about being loosey-goosey in the tooskie!!! As you get closer to due date they just keep getting worse and worse I guess...

It was like this for all my preg. and the only person whose kept me walking is my chiropractor... who I will be seeing today and asking if there's anything she can do to try to speed up this kids arrival...

Olihan · 04/12/2006 21:06

BM, have you got a breast pump? I used one to try to encourage dd along, apparently it's more effective than doing it yourself, plus all the colostrum drips down into a bottle so it's a lot less messy!

BaileysMilkshake · 04/12/2006 21:12

Did think of that Oli, but then worried I might run out of colostrum before bump arrived - oh there's just so many unanswered questions

northernmama · 04/12/2006 21:12

Satinshoes, I'll try that..

What I really need is a brain that DOESN'T obsess like this.

Hey, anyone out there with a good friend who is feeling because of the upcoming arrival when they do not have any baby on the horizon?
