Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 34th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 34th grads fred is here

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 51st outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

Grin la guessing that means things are going in the right direction!!

LaLaLaaaa · 27/07/2015 16:40

Hi!

So....things got traumatic and awful for a bit. After waters broke it started to get very bad. I was moved to delivery where I was told I had to go on drip, which meant no water birth.

My plan was to be mobile and have water birth to help with pain. But drip meant I was stuck in bed which was agony!

So I've ended up with epidural because I was in so much distress writhing around the bed and the contractions were abnormally long. Won't spoil it too much as I'll do birth story after (although you'll be sick of me by then!).

I'm now hooked up, baby's fine, we've got iPod on and I can't feel a thing!

RhiannonElward · 27/07/2015 16:45

That drip is agony La, it took me about half an hour of it to beg for the epidural through tears lol. Good luck, rest now you can and have that baby! Grin

ThursdayLast · 27/07/2015 16:47

Me too Rhi and also la you've been in labour for about a hundred years, an epidural can give you a bit of a rest Smile

I hope you get to the magic 10 soon! Enjoy the drugs!

I think the NICE guidelines are that they should offer an epidural BEFORE they start the drip as the pain is so bad with it so medals all round to those of you who managed half an hour!

LaLaLaaaa · 27/07/2015 16:52

It was unbearable, I cried lots and shook an awful lot. I'm now calm and happy

mountaingirl01 · 27/07/2015 16:58

Oh la how horrible for you. I'm so pleased things have got better. I know its not the birth you wanted- but all that matters now is you getting your boy out xxx

Definitely pants in bed else I would end up washing pjs every day! (Only have 2 pairs that fit now too! ) I also am a bit obsessive about washing my duvet cover.
If I try sleep naked I get nightmares

RPopz · 27/07/2015 17:00

That sounds awful La Sad Glad you're feeling better with the epidural and definitely get some rest if you can! You've done more than your fair share of contractions Smile Sorry the birth plan went tits up, they seem to do so more often than not!! You're doing amazingly though. Hope mini La puts in his appearance very soon! Xxx Thanks

ThursdayLast · 27/07/2015 17:01

Good! Calm and happy is the best way to deliver a baby!
Sounds like they didn't muck about with the epidural either - took them a fucking age to get mine in, it was horrid.

GO La!!!

LaLaLaaaa · 27/07/2015 17:05

teejayem · 27/07/2015 17:05

Epidurals are a glorious thing!

ThursdayLast · 27/07/2015 17:09

Well done! No wonder you were panicky Flowers. How's the cervix doing? Are you having a lovely chat with the MW now you're not dying of pain?

It felt like it took them 2 hours to put mine in Sad

goodnessgraciousgouda · 27/07/2015 17:55

Well done La!!! Ahhhhh drugs! Lovely lovely drugs! I'm glad that you're feeling better now. I hope you manage to get a quick kip whilst the drugs are still keeping the pain away, to give you some energy for later. Good luck!!!!! Taking his bloody sweet time isn't he!

Sorry looking! I did wonder if I had the right person but trusted my instincts. FAIL. Also, 170kg at 60cm tall?!?!?!? I died!!!

Jelly - Er...ew. I hope that you are feeling better! Open a window!?

Chat Are you/were you based in one of the big cities, or somewhere more rural? I get the impression that strictness on weight gain varies a lot depending on region. I think quite a few places only start weighing you if you seem to be ballooning between appointments, or they just think you are looking a bit fat, lol.

Niff - I had heard that the french were super strict, but from what I gather, if you are not overweight at the start, they just tend to focus on not going over 12kg. It's the same in Belgium. I don't know what is so magical about 12kg, but that's when they seem to start getting really pissy with you. I had the doctor ask my weight at my first appointment at 5 weeks (though he didn't check it), and then was weighed by the gynaecologist at my first appointment at 12 weeks.

It is quite nice in a way, as it means that it's easier to lose the weight afterwards, which means most people are back to the their pre pregnancy weight before getting pregnant again, so manage to avoid that sort of pregnancy related step increase in weight over the years.

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 27/07/2015 18:17

Can't stop eating! Except for when sleeping, which is also a lot.

RPopz · 27/07/2015 18:22

How long do epidurals last? He'll be here tonight then surely??

Aufwiedersehenpetrarch · 27/07/2015 18:24

Oh calm happy drugful sounds great and just what you need now. Well done on working so very hard la up to this point and hope the pushing is easy peasy and minila pounces onto your breast once he's out with all the joy of a newly contracted football player!
Weight gain? I gained about 10-12kgs in my first pregnancy (I only weighed at mw/gynae appointments and tried to keep it separate in my head so not to worry about it too much so don't know the pounds because of that either. Lost 90% of it very quickly within about ten days I know I know but the last two or three never really left. :(

goodnessgraciousgouda · 27/07/2015 18:24

Sky I often find that having something to drink stops the hunger. Especially a de caff tea with a touch of milk (now it's not so freakishly hot).

Sometimes I feel hungry literally ten minutes after eating a meal, which isn't physically possible so I do think that your body's signals go fucking haywire sometimes!

ChatEnOeuf · 27/07/2015 18:29

Yep, Gouda in the city - though with a UK-trained doc which makes a significant difference from what I can gather. Think 12kg is a little under 2st which is about average, probably plucked from that kind of thin air :) I've gained the same both times and have had no difficulty getting back to pre-preg weight. First time it was a combination of feeding, walking and not much sleep. This time round it's not so obvious why it fell off, but I've been swimming a bit and strengthening my core. Thankfully my stomach muscles have all knitted back together nicely.

Glad the epidural is in La. Somewhat surprised they didn't see what your contractions did post ARM though. Leaping straight to drip seems a little sadistic jumpy. Relax and rest now.

oneyorkshirepud · 27/07/2015 18:48

Sky eat while you can I reckon. I tend to either be absolutely starving and can eat a phenomenal amount, or can hardly eat at all.
