Let us know you're you, mayo!

We haven't got nct up here, too rural! There are some ante natal things but I don't think we're told about them until 30 or so weeks.

Had a massive scare today. A bit of spotting and cramping so the midwives sent me up to the city. Mum drove as DH was 45 mins away, but he drove to meet us there. Luckily bumped into my consultant who had recognised my mum as her ex neighbour (very rural!) and she was wonderful in making sure everything was alright. Still slightly crampy but thoroughly reassured. I was so terrified though, if it can happen once it can happen again. DH meet us in the car park after the all clear, gave us a massive hug and then drove the hour and a half back to his work.

Just had my NT results through, 1:10314- massive relief! I've booked into a course that's run locally by someone my midwife recommended, I was thinking about doing the NCT ones too to meet as many people as possible, but it's so expensive... I'm hoping that once baby has arrived I'll make friends at breastfeeding coffee groups and stuff instead!
And I've just bought our first baby-thing! Picking up an Amby nest on Saturday, I can't remember who on here recommended them but I'm so excited!

MayFlowers16 · 19/08/2015 19:22

Gosh Harquoi that must have been terrifying . I'm so glad everything is ok and that they looked after you so well.

We're probably not doing any antenatal classes. We did a great course last time that was privately run. Small groups of seven couples that we've stayed in touch with. From memory I think they were only about ninety pounds for three 2hr sessions plus a reunion after the babies were born. NCT seems very expensive.

MayFlowers16 · 19/08/2015 19:24

The Amby nests look lovely gone, I'm very tempted too!

goneswimming · 19/08/2015 19:50

I've got a really cheap deal on one May so if we don't get on with it its no massive loss. On the eBay picture it looks really wonky but I'm pretty sure she's got it set up wrong....it looks like a great space saver for us because I can hang it so the hammock hangs over our bed with the base tucked underneath, iyswim?

MayFlowers16 · 19/08/2015 19:57

Bargain! Smile

NoMontagues · 19/08/2015 20:00

Oh god haquoi what an awful shock for you. So glad to hear all is well Smile

haquoi123 · 19/08/2015 20:11

Thanks montagues and may. On the plus side, I'm in a brilliant mood at the moment because everything is fine. Relief does make you giddy. So exhausted though, I'm in bed already.

gone I love that amby nest idea (is that the hammock one?) I'm hoping to get one myself. Let us know what it's like when you get it!

calypso how far along are you? I've been feeling the baby move occasionally, but it's my 2nd and I felt ds massively early. I'm 15+4. With DS I asked if it could possibly be him I was feeling and my midwife basically said that if you think it's the baby, it's probably the baby. A lot of people mention popping and fizzing, but for me is more rolling, like pressure moving ever so slightly. And the occasional patter of kicks, like soft bullets.

I'm huge. My insides are pushing against my tummy muscles. I feel a bit of a fraud as I'm half the size in the morning that I end up being in the evening. But definitely showing and living in a pair of my Mum's trousers while waiting for my maternity leggings to arrive. Anyone else big?

haquoi so glad all is ok & they looked after you.

goneswimming great results for you!

I think I ALMOST have a bump now, although I'm pretty sure if you didn't know me you'd think I just loved beer & pie!

bigfox message me when you're back, I wanted to ask some questions about whether you used a breathing monitor under the mattress and what blankets to choose!

haquoi123 · 19/08/2015 21:14

Where's the 2nd list of names bigfox?

I'm feeling big too Harquoi, have been in maternity jeans for weeks now. Although I haven't grown much in the last few weeks. I think the bloat has eased slightly and has been replaced by a true bump.

jellypi3 · 20/08/2015 09:18

i feel a lot bigger than i am i think, i told a client yesterday and they said they wouldn't have guessed. I've put on 3kg though Blush since getting pg so must just look fatter

NoMontagues · 20/08/2015 10:00

haq I think the second list is just a list of mumsnet suppliers/ contacts and their email addresses, so companies that advertise here, PR agents and the like. Not member details. This is as far as I can gather- I'm not keen to click on any links atm so I'm just going by the threads in "site stuff".

I have bloating and a bump! And I'm a bit fat too Blush Grin

CalypsoLilt · 20/08/2015 10:39

haquoi I'm 15 weeks this weekend :) and I'm pretty sure I felt the baby move when I got up for a wee in the night...... it was like a really soft fluttering/rolling sensation. And then this morning there was a tiny little drumming like a heart palpitation? What d'ya reckon?

my bump is massive and this is my first pregnancy. I have a normal BMI. I'm already in maternity clothes as none of my normal clothes fit.

NorthernChinchilla · 20/08/2015 19:16

Hi all- I've been lurking since the Feb group started a while and thought I'd properly join now.

I'm now 13+4, and my EDD is the 22nd, though if all goes to plan it'll be a c-section on the 15th. I've got one DS already. Sadly suffered a mmc earlier this year- I recognise a few people from the miscarriage boards- where the baby's EDD was not only my birthday but also the international day to commemorate miscarriage... Didn't want to join the thread til after the 12 week scan, but am now as confident as one can statistically be that all will be well Smile NT results 1:43 000 too.

I've got an impressive bump already; had a month of being in skirts, and moved into all my maternity gear with joy when I had my scan last week. Am also having outbreaks of the hunger - have been fine 98% of the time, but a couple of days ago had to inhale a doughnut and yesterday a packet of supernoodles before dinner Blush

NoMontagues · 20/08/2015 19:24

Hi chinchilla welcome and congratulations! Smile

Sorry to hear about your previous mc.

Welcome chinchilla, congratulations! great scan news Smile

It's been quiet on here. I wonder if people are avoiding mn atm, because of the recent problems. .

Rufus200 · 20/08/2015 22:51

May if people have been having as many probs as I have with logging in and passwords then they have probably given up trying until things get better.

My mum told me I look like a fat meth addict today. She seems to have a serious problem with my acne/eczema, which just pisses me off because I can barely look at myself in the mirror it is so bad but she keeps on reminding me it is there. She also told me I have so much back fat that I know have a shelf.

NoMontagues · 21/08/2015 08:11

Oh rufus your mother and mine should really get together.

Yesterday we were discussing what the new baby might look like and she said:
"Oh X's (her bf) first grandchild has blond hair and lovely brown skin that takes the sun well. Then the next child has red hair and freckles. It's just the luck of the draw!"

Both I and DS have red hair...

jellypi3 · 21/08/2015 08:37

Welcome chinchilla :)

rufus your mum sounds as delightful as mine!!

BadgieBear · 21/08/2015 09:04

Hello everyone, welcome chinchilla and congratulations to everyone who has had happy news recently.

I've been quiet as am back at work after 6 weeks off with hg and it is killing me. Vomming has increased, hair falling out again and skin terrible - am back to puke-scented zombie chic - didn't want to bring my little storm cloud to all your lovely rays of blooming second trimester sunshine!

Curlywurlies · 21/08/2015 11:58

Hey everyone, haven't posted for ages but have been catching up every few days! My dates got changed so my EDD is now 29/1 but I still feel like a February person so haven't jumped ship (although I do read January as well!). Am loving maternity clothes - bought some great things on eBay and feel less fat, more pregnant as a result. A bit worried today though as my boobs and bump seem to have shrunk ... hoping it's just the ups-and-downs of hormones rather than a bad omen. Seeing the midwife this afternoon so will ask them to listen to the HB. Eek!
