You sound like me. People tell you to take it easy and just don't. While I was waiting for the OH to finish work yesterday in a busy shopping mall he told me to keep sitting down and having rests. Does this man have any brains? I'm a woman in a big shopping centre....I'll leave it at that xD

Glad you enjoyed the concert. I'd love to see him live.

stupidgirl45 · 13/07/2015 16:56

hi everyone,

hope it's okay to post - I'm due 20th Jan with no.2 - already have ds aged almost 3.

Have been struggling a lot more in this pregnancy and signed off sick since 7 wks. Am now 12+5 and had a nice scan on Friday so just waiting for combined test results but fingers crossed low NT number means all will be fine.

Hoping to get to know more people :)

welcome stupidgirl Grin Congratulations xx

hotcrossbun83 · 13/07/2015 17:46

jmac 2nd hand is fine but you're meant to replace the mattress in the bassinet - probably not necessary if you don't use it for sleeping too but we used our uppababy bassinet instead of a Moses basket downstairs and when we went away - at one point I took it upstairs every night too as it was the only thing he would sleep in! Only other downside is that the new uppababy converts really well into a double buggy but it's so new it isn't really available 2nd hand yet. I have the older version and am debating if I should sell and buy the new one for the double - ds will be just 2 but I use the buggy a lot so I think I'll really struggle without a double

fourlegstwolegs · 13/07/2015 18:06

Melon poor you being so sick - I totally sympathise and have had unrelenting nausea for about 5/6 weeks now. Gets worse as the day goes on too!

nicnicspicnic I am currently mid way through a loft conversion. It always takes longer than you think but its worth doing - do it NOW!

Re second hand stuff (can't remember who asked) I bought almost everything second hand - cot, cot bed, both pushchairs/prams and yes, I even bought a second hand car seat! It was pristine, the family selling it were lovely and how many people have serious crashes and then sell their car seats...? It would have been almost £400 new (its a Norwegian ERF one, super safe) and I got it for £80.

MissMartin10 · 13/07/2015 18:27

some bitch at work today went "oh 22 and having a baby" like it's a crime. . i was mad and just didn't acknowledge her .. why are some people so judgemental? Angry

jmac88 · 13/07/2015 18:32

Thanks hotcross and fourleg that's really useful info about the new uppababy turning into a double, didn't even think about that! Maybe that's why there's quite a few going 2nd hand if everyone is upgrading!

tinyme135 · 13/07/2015 19:03

MissMartin I'm 21 and having my first just ignore her. My mate was 15 when she was pregnant so she can't be judgemental

Romeolovesjuliet · 13/07/2015 19:07

nicnic our loft conversion took about 12 wks (including fitting a bathroom) - we did it while I was pregnant with DC2 and it was finished just in time. The decorating on the other hand... Well almost 2 years on and that's still not completely done ????
We have a cot top changer that are good for space and just a standard may for downstairs.

Lookingforadvice123 · 13/07/2015 19:22

missmartin ignore her people always have something to say! This (super judgmental) woman I used to work with who must be in her late 60's by now commented that she's not sure I'm old enough, I'm 27, have been married for over a year and have a professional mid-level management job! I'll actually be very nearly 28 when the baby's born, ridiculous.

I can highly recommend the new look skinny maternity jeans! Got some yesterday and was v pleased that my usual size 10 fit me well on the legs/bum, then it's got an elasticated bump which seems like it will stretch really far.

Wasn't so keen with my non-under wired bra purchases though, everyone who's been measured since becoming pg, what did your size come up like? I've always doubted M&S sizing, and they said I've gone from a 32C to a 36C Hmm my boobs are definitely bigger so surely it's more likely that I'm 34D?! They were insistent though even though the band is on the tightest hook and has loads of space underneath...

In other news I think I might have felt some movement, is it too early at 15+2? Felt like twitches/pops on both side of my belly at different times, definitely didn't feel like a muscle twitch but you can never be too sure. Only felt it when I was lying and sitting, happened a few times last night and this morning but nothing since.

lilyb84 · 13/07/2015 19:27

Second that, MissMartin - ignore her and anyone else who feels the need to make a judgemental comment. I do think that some comments just come out wrong, or people are making a genuine effort to say something 'relevant' that's actually just too personal, but there's no justification for commenting on someone's age.

Looking I just ordered some NL skinny fit jeans this afternoon so it's encouraging to hear you say they're good! Current jeans are now definitely too tight, and I hate restrictive clothing.

brickiemum2 · 13/07/2015 19:32

Hi, not a good update from me. This morning at 14w+2 I started with cramps and pressure and then had a massive bleed. Spoke to maternity assessment who insisted I phone an ambulance as I was gushing quite a lot. I've had a scan and although baby is alive at the minute part of my placenta has detached. I've had further big bleeds since getting here. They can't say what will happen but it doesn't look good. Being kept in overnight in case the bleeding becomes life threatening to me Sad

lilyb84 · 13/07/2015 19:45

mrsfazruns · 13/07/2015 19:53

Oh brickie that's awful news!! Praying its just a blip and be a positive outcome for you

Rollermum · 13/07/2015 19:54

So sorry Brickiemum. Am thinking of you Flowers

Lookingforadvice123 · 13/07/2015 19:59

brickie I'm so sorry you're going through this, but don't give up hope yet, placental abruptions do happen and it doesn't automatically mean miscarriage at all. Will be thinking of you, stay positive and rest - bed rest is really important xx Flowers

Romeolovesjuliet · 13/07/2015 20:00

Brickie I am so sorry. You will be in my thoughts and prayers tonight. Flowers
