Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 32nd grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 50th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

Honey I got a private one for £99. It was worth every penny Smile

Jcandy · 03/07/2015 15:26

Thanks for all the sling advice everyone. Think it is probably better for me to wait till baby is here but I'm so impatient lol. If you could add me to the groups that would be great chat! They are probably the same ones that zyla mentioned.

Definitely get a scan honey, I relaxed a lot more after mine. Cramps are normal too, anything up to moderate really. If they are severe then I'd get them checked out

Purpleball · 03/07/2015 15:49

We had a mc last year so once we had the early scan at 7 weeks and we saw the heartbeat, then we told family Smile

mountaingirl01 · 03/07/2015 16:25

fleur my dh is also allergic to furry things, I just ignored that when I wanted to get a cat... (although she mainly lives outside)

dulcet that's really sad, I hate it when cat brings in birds, thankfully she tends to stick to mammals.

honey I had early scan and honestly so pleased I did. You will still worry - I still worry everyday that I am going to lose lo - but it definitely puts your mind at rest. Plus, this may sound morbid, but when I had the second mc, one of the worst things was that I had never 'seen' it.
Like purple it wasn't until after early scan this time that we told my parents.

jelly I know this is a bit late... but HOW did you get to 10 weeks already?!

maemay · 03/07/2015 16:43

Bat pale minty green and grey stripes sounds lovely.
We're moving this Summer (finally buying our own place, albeit a small flat!), so we will finally be able to decorate things how we want to!
Haven't even thought about colours yet (other than that we will avoid pink and blue on principle. So many fun colours out there, we don't want to limit just to the stereotypical gender-appropriate colour!)

maemay · 03/07/2015 16:45

On the subject of colours, here comes my rant...
In the shops, why do baby clothes and muslins etc only seem to be available in pink, blue, or cream?!
Do they not know that bold colours like red, purple, green, yellow, orange, ...etc exist??

honeysucklejasmine · 03/07/2015 16:46

I now have a booking in appointment sorted. They got my form but couldn't open the attachment.... But didn't tell me. V nice lady on phone booked it for me so, 24th July. Could have scan on 18th July. Will twist DHs arm.

maemay · 03/07/2015 17:23

yay for booking appt, honey! I had mine last week. Was quite boring tbh, but it all feels official now!

maemay · 03/07/2015 17:24

I'm loving the "NFMV" bulletins that the undergrads have started! ("news from my vagina"). That's a new development since I was there. Love it! [snigger]

Purpleball · 03/07/2015 18:01

I'm hoping to avoid baby blue as much as poss. I'd much rather dress him in bright colours. Mothercare had some nice red and bright green boys clothes.
Our first size stuff is all neutral but we got some pale green and grey things from Boots

Mum is about to knit a pale grey and bright red jumper Smile
I think I've got her off the baby blue finally Smile
I like seeing little boys in cords/jeans and checked shirts etc

New bath has been fitted today Smile so we can bath the baby, another job ticked off the list

Right! Hi everyone! I've caught up I think.

Been completely wiped out today so just had afternoon nap. dh took me for breakfast this morning to a nice place by a lake, then I sat in the shade in the garden for a few hours reading and then went to bed. Absolutely cream-crackered.

Have no food in house and dh has gone to work so I'll have to order take-away :D

OK catching up...

Plug stuff - very interesting! So a mixture of stories, I will wait to see what (if anything) happens

JC - yes perhaps see about sling once baby's here? I knew I wanted the caboo and it was on offer which is why I bought it. My baby has high chance of having hip dysplasia so I bought the Ergo carrier when I saw one for cheap. But as the others have said you can go to sling library and try them out, or our NCT session had some to try also which was fun.

Cat nets - heard they are a waste of money. Most people say that the cats just don't go near the baby's crib once it's here. If anyone's interested I wrote a blog post recently for my work on preparing for baby with cats - it's on the Facebook page if anyone wants to read it. It was checked and added to by a qualified cat behaviourist.

It did annoy me because when it was published on social media some folk commented saying 'this is a fuss about nothing, the cats will just cope' but that just isn't true - cats are so much more sensitive than people think and so many people give up their cats after a baby or other turmoil because cat starts soiling house or other unwanted behaviour, due to people not bothering to think ahead and prepare them for it. I see it all the time on the MN litter tray threads that cats are soiling houses and first reaction is 'I've got a baby, cat will have to go'. I'm always jumping on and offering behavioural advice. Having also worked in rescue centres I've seen the number of cats and other animals brought in as result of person being pregnant and deciding to rehome their pet. The pets are usually the first to suffer - either by being rehomed or ignored and they then become unhappy and stressed.

But what do I know? I should know by now not to argue with people as 'they've owned cats for 20+ years so they know what they're talking about'. Grr...

(rant over)

My cats are my family and will stay part of my family, so we need to make sure we help them to adjust to baby arriving and make it as stress free as possible.

honey - yes, you will get a lot of inappropriate or unwanted comments. Lots of 'was it planned?', or 'ooh look at how huge you are!', or unsolicited bump touching. I got from my mil 'I'm not getting excited until the baby's here' because she fully expected me to MC. Nice.

Early scan - totally your choice to make. I had one because of having had one with my previous pregnancy and there being a suspected ectopic and then mc, as I wanted to know there was definitely something there this time. Chances of mc after hearing hb at 8 weeks drop considerably, so if you do have early scan I would wait til 8 weeks.

mae hooray for no bleeding!

would link to stats sheet is in the header post, but here it is too! docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oLJqpadAb2givKYq8OJfGCti3s6xzsTGlI-GoaBfM_M/edit#gid=0 You have to be on PC to amend.

Crampy feelings are normal in early pregnancy, although unnerving! My dm used to say it was baby nestling in and settling down for the long term.

dulcet poor birdy :( I wouldn't try cervical dislocation if you're not confident as it can go wrong - you basically have to pull out and twist though, it's over in seconds. Used to have to do it as part of my job.

If you go to Boots baby club they have some lovely unisex stuff - purples, greens. I bought some stuff there and I really like it.

mae on this thread we have NFMA (news from my arse) due to the amount of arse rain/constipation! Grin

Epic post - sorry

TK Maxx and Amazon for bright Muslins mae. I even got some tattoo print ones :)

I deliberately didn't buy a single cellular blanket because I could only find them in powder blue or white and really wanted orange...

Lookingforadvice123 · 03/07/2015 18:47

Wow thanks for those lists la! Long way off for me yet but I've taken screen shots of them on my phone as I struggle to think of anything the baby might need other than the obvious pram/cot etc!

honey a big YES from me on early scans! I had 2 private and 1 in EPAU (that one was booked anyway after the GP suspected (told me, bitch) that I was miscarrying (I wasn't). Private scans were at 8+3 and 10+3, id been so anxious up until the first one but after hearing the heartbeat I have to admit I relaxed a lot, and I'm a very anxious person naturally so that's saying something.

How far along are you? I would wait until 8+ weeks as the risk of miscarriage after seeing a heartbeat then goes down to 2%.

Purpleball · 03/07/2015 18:50

I had my early scan at 7'weeks because that was the earliest that you should see a heartbeat and not need dildocam

gaggiagirl · 03/07/2015 18:52

Did anyone else's bump go 'baggy' like its gone empty? Mines dropped and looks smaller and isn't firm. It sort of folds along the belly button now. What's the craic with that then?

batfish · 03/07/2015 18:58

Thanks so much for the list la!

Indigoblue2 · 03/07/2015 19:12

gaggia maybe you're just fat? GrinWink

LaLaLaaaa · 03/07/2015 19:25

Fan positioned at face. Awesome.

Baggy bump-age! I think mine used to do that! Before it went all hard and tight!

OP posts:
DulcetMoans · 03/07/2015 19:40

Is it like it all the time ga? Mine used to be sagging sitting or laying down but when I stood up it felt harder.

There's a blog post in active about the truth of giving birth I just enjoyed if anyone wants something to read. The comments were a bit harsh but I enjoyed the sentiment of blog!

honeysucklejasmine · 03/07/2015 19:43

Tight, have booked scan. Will be 8+4, all being well. Of course I am now terrified that a) I'll miscarry first, and b) there won't be a heart beat

Midwife friend says it doesn't end. 4-12 is MC worry, 12-20 is anomaly sorry, 20-40 is still birth worry. So, sounds fun all round!

batfish · 03/07/2015 19:56

Aww it will be ok honey - and if you don't have this scan then you will only have the same big worry at your 12 week scan so at least this way you get your reassurance earlier. All scans are a bit scary to be honest but the first definitely the worst - but the relief when you see your baby is incredible!

Fleurchamp · 03/07/2015 19:57

Yep it basically never ends honey AND I have been told that once they're out it's a whole new level of worrying.

Will have a look dulcet although maybe now is not the right time

DH is annoying me. He never makes any effort to help me with the food shopping - I think he genuinely believes fairies make food appear - and currently I am struggling for food ideas as it's too hot to be bothered to cook and my stomach is so small I only really want to snack. So, tonight he comes home and decides that none of the food options available are appetising. He won't get takeaways nutritional value and so now he is moping about the kitchen moaning.

Oh and he didn't have lunch as none of his preferred healthy options were available. From what I can garner he had muesli for breakfast, an apple and some cheese. All day.

He is skin and bones.

Angry
honeysucklejasmine · 03/07/2015 20:01

Thanks ladies. Argh, this is so hard!

Fleur throw a ryvita or similar "healthy" cardboard at him.
