Wow good shopping ladies. Am hoping that i can cope without having to buy a double as DD will be 2.5 when #3 is born, and for the first few months at least baby can go in a sling/carrier while DD is in the pushchair. Might have to see how we get on at the time before committing to spending. Last time I bought a double then hardly ever used it and so sold it.

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 28/06/2015 15:06

DH and I have seen a pushchair that we both like. Turns out he's really fussy with this sort of thing even though I'd be the one using it the most. One thing I have to consider is that baby might be reeeeally long, I'm 5'4" but DH is 6'2"!

Bloating has been less for the past few days (mostly), so I keep going from feeling there's nothing in there to omg what if it's twins!

kep1979 · 28/06/2015 15:27

Good idea about stocking up at each supermarket shop! I just need to get in our new house first as we are busting at the seams here.

I have an old avent double electric breast pump that I need to dig out to see if it still works as was in the old garage for years. If it's ok I will buy new attachments. If not I'll be in the search for a new one as I relied on it last time.

So much shopping, so little time Grin

mrsfazruns · 28/06/2015 15:32

MissMartin10 · 28/06/2015 15:35

oh my goodness yes! i cry every time mrsfaz dp gives me funny looks Grin

Lookingforadvice123 · 28/06/2015 15:54

Those of you who have had your NT measurements can I ask what they are? I'm starting to worry now as if there's a problem with my overall risk I'll most likely get a phone call tomorrow or Tuesday (bloods taken with my scan on Thursday).

My NT was measured 4 x times: 1.6mm, 1.7mm, 1.8mm and 1.9mm, so they went with the highest 1.9mm. This was at 12+5. Terrified my overall risk is going to come back as high as 1.9mm doesn't sound all that low to me...

Oysterbabe · 28/06/2015 16:14

1.9mm is low.

mrschatty · 28/06/2015 16:47

Oh I'm loving the silver cross wayfarer too. Also like the pioneer and surf do you think wayfarer is the better silve cross option?

mrschatty · 28/06/2015 16:48

sleepy and martin that was directed to you ladies sorry I didn't tag

BeeMyBaby · 28/06/2015 16:55

mrschatty I don't know about the wayfarer but I got the surf for dd1 which at that point claimed to be 'all terrain' and I was walking on lots of muddied paths and it was... Horrendous! They then brought out 'all terrain wheels' the following year even though it had claimed its original wheels were 'all terrain' and we ended up buying a simple petit star buggy and an out about double when we had dd2 both of which were far superior than the surf when it came to rough terrain. Basically it's fine if you are just walking on pavements but after forking out £400 for something which was useless I will never trust silver cross again.

brickiemum2 · 28/06/2015 16:59

I used to have a serious but addiction with my first two. Strangely I seem to have gotten over it now. I'm determined to wear this one more than buggy it so I'll be going to a local sling meet soon and figuring out which wrap or stretchy I like best. Even then I'll probably buy second hand as they are broken in already. My friend has a travel system that she only just finished using as a buggy so I might see if she wants to sell that just so I have one if needed.
The older I get the more "crunchy" I get so I'll be the cloth bum, breastfeeding, baby wearing, co sleeping one lmao.

Note to self......do NOT develop an obsession with slings and fluffy bum designs Wink

brickiemum2 · 28/06/2015 17:00

Serious buggy addiction........Hmm

Blackandwhitecat3 · 28/06/2015 17:21

Looking my sonographer said the cut off was 3.5-4cm. Mine was 1.1 and I'm a week behind you, so probably very similar. She said it was nice and low.

Fx for our bloods

aliquid · 28/06/2015 17:26

brickie I have a huge cloth bum addiction! We only started when ds was about 6 months though so can't wait to hire some teeeeeny newborn nappies! I've got a sling too but found ds wanted out of it pretty quickly, he prefers his wheels! Godsend for around the house though when you've got stuff to do and a baby who won't countenance being put down!

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 28/06/2015 17:37

I remember a friend of mine recommending sleepy nico carriers but I think they are for babies 3 months+.

Addicted to baby browsing (and thinking about names) today! Anyone had any experience with www.online4baby.com/ ?

MissMartin10 · 28/06/2015 17:42

aliquid are they the reusable nappies? how do they work, i don't know anyone personally who has used them so i can't ask lol

Joey0805 · 28/06/2015 17:44

Maybe - I'm expecting an enormous baby; I'm just under 6' and was 10lbs11oz at birth and all length apparently and DH is over 6'4" and was 9lbs12oz!!!!! Not going to buy anything for a newborn...

Joey0805 · 28/06/2015 17:46

Looking - mine was 1.4 but I was 12+2 so yours should be higher plush my sonographer said they didn't worry unless above 3.5 and you've miles under that...

MissMartin10 · 28/06/2015 17:54

what questions did you ask at your 12w scan to find this information out of do they just tell you. . i have no idea about the most of this stuff.. sorry about all my questions

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 28/06/2015 17:56

Joey Wow those are some hefty weights! Definitely wise to avoid newborn items! I'm hoping my 'little' one will be a dainty 6lbs 6ozs like I was. DH was something like 9lbs 4ozs which scares me!

kep1979 · 28/06/2015 19:42

Lol joey i definitely don't plan to buy anything newborn - my boys were only in 0-3 months for a matter of weeks too!

I love cloth nappies so cannot wait to start restocking, as i got rid of all my boys' stuff years ago. I am prepared to get obsessed.

Dh really wants to carry Bean as much as possible, so will need to get on with researching slings and carriers, as i can definitely see the benefits around the house.

SleepyDragon · 28/06/2015 20:05

MrsChatty my SIL has the surfaced it's really good when we take our nephew out, the wayfarer feels the same but has a bigger basket underneath for shopping/nappy bags etc!

SleepyDragon · 28/06/2015 20:07

Oops 'surf' not surfaced but hers must be the newer one as DN is only 18mth old

OrangeBeehive · 28/06/2015 20:21

Looking mine was 1.68mm at 12+6. To be honest I'm not entirely sure what it means and what's good and what's not! But the sonographer said it all seemed fine, I expect yours will be too (especially if there are 4 different variations to the numbers?)

Can't believe some of you have been shopping already! I'm waiting until after 20 weeks for the big things (browsing online in the meantime though!) but have ordered a few maternity clothes and thinking of investing in a nice pregnancy cushion / pillow type thing! Like Kep we also have a house move coming up so we'll get that sorted and then try and figure out what we need and how much it will all cost (gulp).

Those of you with a child already, is there anything you would recommend buying new and/or not buying new? what's the best and safest stuff to get second hand? I thought a cot could be a good second hand buy (not the mattress, just the wooden frame) but my mum said you run the risk of buying one that's been painted / varnished with harmful chemicals...not sure how likely this is but either way it's a minefield!

crumble74 · 28/06/2015 20:33

looking Mine was 2.0 at 13 weeks. Sonographer was happy with it.

This link states that 3.5mm is the cut-off for "normal range":
