WouldRatherHaveCake is there a FB group already? If not I can set a secret one up? Will have to be 'friends' with people to add to group then can unfriend after.

Stepawayfromthezebras · 27/06/2015 11:56

Good luck blue fingers crossed for you

Rufus200 · 27/06/2015 12:00

haquoi my cats are garden poopers, so I always wear gloves if I'm in the soil. Probably is a much bigger risk because you don't know where the decomposed poo is.

blue good luck for today, I really hope it is good news xxx

DH is at work today and seeing as he specialises in veterinary ultrasonography (it is what he does all day long) I'm trying to persuade him to scan me when he finishes tonight. He is really reluctant which I do understand. He doesn't want to panic me if he can't find bean, he doesn't want to find bean is gone, he doesn't want me having a melt down at his work and he doesn't want his work colleagues knowing but my next scan isn't for another 2 and a bit weeks and DH is going abroad for work all next week and I will be all on my own. I would just like to see a heart beat today. He did scan me a few years ago when I was getting a lot of stabbing pain and thought I must have an ovary cyst, he announced to me that it looked like I had a mass on my bladder, I explained that was my uterus! He never found my ovaries. Hhmmm starting to talk myself out of this that it is probably a really bad idea!

RattyCatty · 27/06/2015 12:08

Good luck blue

And thank you re cat advice, our two are like our babies & fingers crossed if all goes well want to make the transition smooth for them!

rallytog1 · 27/06/2015 12:18

Excellent (and refreshingly non-hysterical) advice rufus. You're so right that the environment around us is more likely to cause issues than what we eat.

I've got 3 cats and they were pretty cool when dd was born. They all gave her a very wide berth but we prepared them by stopping them sleeping in our bedroom in the run-up to her being born. One of them now loves dd and follows her around all day.

Good luck blue

Brummiegirl15 · 27/06/2015 12:27

Rally that's the thing that's worrying me about our 2 cats. They love sleeping in our bedroom - need to discourage that

rallytog1 · 27/06/2015 12:50

It definitely helped us to get started with that early brummie - although there were a few sleepless nights with very loud and mournful yowling coming from the kitchen!

RattyCatty · 27/06/2015 12:54

Ours too brummie thanks for tip rally! If all goes ok we'll have to phase that out... Poor little things will be so angry!

Stepawayfromthezebras · 27/06/2015 12:56

Our two are banned from the bedroom, they get shut in the sitting room with a litter tray overnight. Though one has started opening the door, coming upstairs and banging on our door so we're going to have to change the door handle to make it cat proof Angry

Boobear1983 · 27/06/2015 13:24

Good advice about pets. Our dog will be fine, he loves kids. The cat is going to be an issue, he is massively protective of me. If i shut the door on him at night he screams and pulls the carpet up until i let him in. I might have to get some double sided tape and put it round the door so he stops clawing it.

overreactionemoticon · 27/06/2015 13:36

Good luck blue Smile

Have just had another nap. I never sleep in the day Blush

Dp is making me a bacon sandwich even though he has been at work all morning at has already eaten there. I don't know how he puts up with me sometimes.

We have three cats. I'm only confident that one of them will be OK with a baby. Another would have been but since we moved in with dp and his cat (her baby but not much contact between them over the years) she's been easily spooked and growls and hisses a lot. DPS cat is an evil bastard who hates me. I brought him into this world the ungrateful wotsit Grin

purdiepipesup · 27/06/2015 13:40

I have just found the palest beige discharge on the toilet paper. It is clearly brown 'spotting'. No cramps. I have lied to the EPAU and told them I am bleeding and they said I can go in for a scan on Wednesday - a week after my healthy heartbeat scan that I just had at 8+3.

Brummie (and anyone else who has miscarried after a healthy heartbeat at 8+3), ought I be worried? Why, oh why, would I have brown discharge at this late stage when I haven't had a single spot since my BFP? Sad

Rufus200 · 27/06/2015 14:08

boobear I have a cat that does exactly the same thing! He will literally spend a hour trying to break the bedroom door down and has ruined the carpet in the hallway with his tufting. I don't actually have any tips other then ignoring it and trying to make a more welcoming place to sleep. We are moving in a few months so are just going to make it a no sleeping in the bedroom rule at the new house. My biggest problem is DH who is incapable of keeping a room door shut and has on more then 1 occasion shut a cat in the room that was supposed to be cat free.

monkerina · 27/06/2015 14:59

Purdie, I've never seen a hb before my MCs- but doctor conversations and extensive googling over the last couple of years has informed me that it is absolutely normal to bleed; roughly 50% of women will bleed in the first trimester and go on to have a healthy baby (can't remember where I saw that stat but it was somewhere reputable!) It's usually from the placenta growing and attaching to the womb lining.

Cats- mine isn't allowed to come into our room at night, but is a vicious little monster so we have a sacrificial bit of extra carpet in front of the door that she destroys rather than the (ugly green) hall carpet! She's quite suspicious of new people and a scratchy bugger too, if only with me, so would appreciate the getting-ready info.

Brummiegirl15 · 27/06/2015 15:51

Purdie yes I have lost after seeing a hb BUT some spotting is normal and if it's brown then that old blood.

Have you had any pain at all? Any cramping?

Your cervix could be irritated - it could be anything. Please don't panic. Big hugs. Maybe pop a panty liner on so you can see if any marks?

I've had a bit of nervousness this morning. Got a stabbing type pain this morning, just below my bikini line. Really low and to the side, felt a bit stitch like. I'm 8+3 and I've struggled this week so the stabbing pain worried me a little. It didn't happen very long but it unnerved me

Bluenewbie · 27/06/2015 16:18

welcome back lovely ladies! thank you for all your good wishes. They worked :)

I'm over the moon as it turned out that there is a bean still hanging in me! :) sonographer was very quiet and when she said "there is only one baby" I was like: what? there is a baby there? is there??!! then my belly had some convulsions from my crying spasms ;) but the little bean wasn't bother and didn't move at all. sonogr. did manage to take measurements and she couldn’t see anything that would cause bleeding. so everything looks fine! also we saw the HB!
it is still very unbelievable though that there is a little life growing in me..

Bluenewbie · 27/06/2015 16:25

now I can officially give some advice.

so Isla , Mumof1sofar I don't have any symptoms. had a bloat, bigger boobs, tiredness. All that disappeared. well I'm a bit funny with my food and smells but not really nausea. And my Bean is fine and everything is normal. conclusion: you are probably also fine. Lack of strong symptoms is also common in PG apparently.

Purdie I was discharging brown(old) blood for a month, had some small red spots and had a blot clot out. It is still ok. I'm fine and the Bean is fine. apparently it is very common. some blood can happen from a hard exercise or even strong cycling like they suspected was in my blood clot case. they said that the cervix can in this cases be irritated and let some blood out. as long as it's not very strong pain and heavy bleeding, they say it should be all good. You're very lucky you will see your bean again soon. I'm pretty sure she's doing just fine there Star

Brummie could it be stretching pains? I think they could start by now.
hugs to all of you Flowers

Tiredoftiredness · 27/06/2015 16:39

Congrats blue

I had my scan this morning too and also have a HB-yay!

Relieved but still can't seem to manage to get excited Sad DH was disappointed there was only 1 in there...I was very relieved!

Another with few symptoms, although I seem to be developing travel sickness which is fun and am rather podgier than previous

Bluenewbie · 27/06/2015 16:59

Tired thank you and huge congratulations on your Bean and HB too!! Star

StockingFullOfCoal · 27/06/2015 17:14

Scan this morning. Officially at 6+3. I thought I'd be 7+3 going by my OPKS but it'd seem they were a whole week off! We went at it like rabbits that weekend as I was going to visit my Dad for a week, and because of the OPKs, and it would appear that I ovulated that week and DHs swimmers were still hanging around Blush

It was a standard abdominal scan. Big blob. But. We saw the heartbeat. And we actually heard it too

congrats Stocking :D Flowers

purdiepipesup · 27/06/2015 17:32

Wonderful scan news for you ladies.

Thanks for reassurances. I had a very intense orgasm during oral sex last night and am wondering whether that could have caused the brown discharge

AbFab86 · 27/06/2015 17:35

Woohoo 3 brilliant scans in one day! That's fantastic ladies, congratulations Smile

I got my hcg results and they were 14,000 then 26,000 48hrs apart, which the doctor is pleased with. I have also turned into a giant globular mass today with water retention like I've never seen. Oh and my boobs are doing their own thing too Grin

rallytog1 · 27/06/2015 18:01

Hurray for happy scans! Thrilled for you all.

purdie my understanding is that brown blood is really common and means nothing on its own. I think if you have an orgasm, it can dislodge old stuff. But glad you've got a scan soon so you can be on the safe side - hope you can hang on in there until then.

brummie what you're describing sounds EXACTLY like stretching pains - where everything is preparing for your uterus to move up. So I'd say it's a good sign.
