Congratulations on all the scans ans heartbeats.
Welcome to all the new ladies since i last posted.
jelly good luck for tomorrow.

No news here. Except that I'm hot. And not in a sexy way. Classrooms over 30 degrees today, spent day alternating between "I'm gonna puke" and " I'm going to faint". Fortunately had a light day and managed to do neither, but teaching all day tomorrow in a very hot airless room, so if i survive puke free it'll be a miracle!

How are the the rest.of you nauseous ladies doing with the heat?

primarynoodle · 01/07/2015 20:18

had the scan - dont know how to post a pic on mobile app

saw the hb but baby was measuring 7+1 not 8+1 although from stories on here thats quite common and is realigned at the 12 week scan so im pretty happy Grin Grin

as pp said... ive had nearly no symptoms - mild nausea but no sicknessnor even coming close, boobs grew and hurt but stopped about a week ago and i am a bit tired but i do ridiculous 18 hour shifts so that can be explained! And yet i have a healthy little fetus inside me and no reason to worry..

TODAY WE ARE PREGGERZ woooo Wine Wine Wine (non alcoholic of course...Wink )

haquoi123 · 01/07/2015 20:56

Congrats on all the lovely hbs, and new bfps! Welcome :)

My ms had really calmed down. I've only felt mildly nauseous today and didn't vomit over my toothbrush! Woo! I also got through the day without a nap (although in in bed now). I'm enjoying the respite and determined not to worry. Until I bleed or cramp I'm going to assume everything's ok, otherwise I'll drive myself nuts. I have open access at the epu but want to save wasting their time for the second trimester when they can actually do something.

cremedecacao · 01/07/2015 21:02

Amazing scan news everyone- you are filling me with hope!

Spanoo- what do you avoid in yoga? I went tonight and it felt like my yoga teacher was stopping me from doing a lot!

goneswimming · 01/07/2015 21:15

Hey guys, looking for advice.... I swim a lot and I've been invited on a long river swim this weekend... I'm wondering if there is any risk in swimming in river water at this early stage? Having paranoid thoughts about bacteria, sickness bugs etc. To be fair it's never made me sick before but I'm incubating something so precious right now and it's so vulnerable!

Raaaaaah · 01/07/2015 21:28

Congrats primary great news.

Oooh goneswimming that's a toughy. I am sure someone more scientific can help (Rufus?). I guess for me it would depend on the river I was swimming in. Sorry ot very helpful or categorical. It sounds like heaven though.

purdiepipesup · 01/07/2015 21:33

Swimming, no way. Don't do it. You have no infection control in a river and all kinds of dangers lurk for an early pregnancy.

Welcome all newbies!

Abfab, I love your baby surfer dude!

I didn't go back to work after puking at the scan and having to be half-dragged back to my dad's car, so feeble was I. Not going in tomorrow either but I can't say I'm not fearful for my job as I've only just been taken on under monthly contracts. Will they give me the boot? They like me a lot and I'm productive but I've had two episodes of sickness since my contract began on 8th June.

purdiepipesup · 01/07/2015 21:37

...four days and then today (and tomorrow) making 6 days in total. Perhaps I should drag myself in tomorrow just to show willing Sad

Rufus200 · 01/07/2015 21:49

haquoi you made me feel slightly better that your MS is reduced but I'm still going to ask because I am worried.

I had really bad nausea for 2 weeks, last episode was on Friday. Since then it has been getting less and less, today none at all despite the intense heat. I mean none, I felt completely symptom free today, I am concerned. Has anyone else had their nausea be really bad and then disappear? I'm 8+3 and last had a scan 2 weeks ago.

haquoi123 · 01/07/2015 21:53

goneswimming it might be worth ringing your midwife or GP? I went wild swimming when pg with DS (terrible example, but pretty certain it wasn't the cause of my late mc a month later, there are medically so many other more likely culprits) and was mainly worried about the cold and not infection. I'm not chance-ing it this time but that's because of being high risk. I'd say do some research and then make a decision, rather than flat no. We've got to keep living our lives... But I agree with purdie that infection is a worry

haquoi123 · 01/07/2015 21:57

rufus I'm exactly the same as you. My scan was on Friday and little tyke was ok. My nausea has got loads better despite having a week of being in bed with it and not being able to eat. I'm still vomiting occasionally but that's usually during cleaning my teeth. Today I only felt a little sick after eating. Boobs are sore though and my guts feel like they're rearranging themselves after I pee. Are other symptoms becoming more obvious though for you?

Rufus200 · 01/07/2015 21:58

goneswimming It depends what empties into the river. The Thames is filled with sewage and is known for causing massive upset tummies. Also need to be aware if farmers have fields with cows nearby as you might get slurry or fertiliser contamination. Also river water (canal water often does) may have leptospirosis in it from rodent/cow/sheep urine, which causes horrendous bleeding in your kidneys if you get infected. If you regularly swim in rivers then you should be fine, especially if you have swum there before.

haquoi123 · 01/07/2015 21:58

Oh and I'm 7+6

cremedecaucau I'm not sure - I didn't go to yoga today after all as I thought I'd be too hot. Apparently there's a few stretches and poses you should avoid, and you need to leave your ribs and tummy space when curling your tummy over. I just read that online though.

*goneswimming" I think it depends on how important to you the swim is. A few years ago my sister and I did a mile open swim in the Thames, which is obviously full of gross things, and my sister was about 8 weeks pregnant at the time. She booked on to the swimming and raised loads of money for charity before she found out she was pregnant and she really wanted to go ahead with it. All was fine - she was just careful not to swallow the water! And my niece is fine and healthy - although now becoming a bit of a diva!

haquoi123 · 01/07/2015 21:59

(loving the fact you're a vet rufus)

Marsaday · 01/07/2015 22:01

Rufus i felt utterly wretched all day on friday, then Saturday basically fine. Yesterday fine, today awful. Good days ans bad days. Embrace the good ones and eat proper food!!

MayFlowers16 · 01/07/2015 22:09

I would second that advice- enjoy the good days. I've just had three days with minimal symptoms then, wham - felt terrible all day today.

MayFlowers16 · 01/07/2015 22:11

Not missing alcohol at all Mayo. Just the thought makes me want to vom as does the thought of most food and drink right now Confused

Why is it called morning sickness when the vast majority of us feel worse in the afternoons and evenings?! Must have been named by a man

mygreeneyedboy · 01/07/2015 22:18

marsaday I'm a bit like that! But more on off throughout the day. For example, had breakfast and then nothing throughout the day I felt so awful, then come 6pm some pizza and just now crisps and cherries Smile which practically feels like a feast compared to what I've eaten most of this week!!

Mirabal · 01/07/2015 22:22

yep my nausea/vomiting is definitely worse in the evenings

loving the scan pics, how lovely to see the little beans

purdiepipesup · 01/07/2015 23:16

Tonight i threw up my chips and gravy butties followed by a Cornetto. I'm hungry now. Whoever it was t'other day who mentioned Rice Crispies...thanks. I'm addicted.

Pagerty · 01/07/2015 23:59
