Oh mayflowers and rallytog that sounds horrendous, think you should definitely try to get some answers now mayflowers if you're thinking about it lots. Even if you don't get all the answers you need at least you will know you tried rather than always wondering

poor you Brummie , sorry you've got that to deal with too

I've just got off phone with doc, got some new sickness meds to try and signed off work for two weeks

Sorry hope I didn't scare anyone with my stitches! Tbh I am willing to have another so it can't have been that bad. I had an episiotomy with dd and I didn't feel them stitch that at all so it was just bad luck with ds.

Good afternoon everyone. I've just been reading back over the weekend's posts and what a variety of birth experiences the group has had!

I can't even visualise what birth is like at this point, it seems very far away.

As with many of you I'm still struggling with nausea and tiredness.

On the nausea front, I've found watermelon that's been in the fridge to be refreshing and not nausea-inducing. Grapes and apples also.

I also bought some travel sickness bands at lunchtime but just realised it might look a bit daft at work so I'm going to try them in the evening at home, as nausea is pretty much all the time.

Flowers to everyone

I also had an episiotomy (I was quite against these but baby was stuck) but completely numbed so didn't feel a thing and stitches were great, no infections etc. I always thought I would feel horrible being in surgery being stitched up but actually I had such a feeling of peace and gratitude (plus I was TOTALLY numb) that all these people were here to get my baby to me safely and make sure we both got through it. Got a bit weird though when people KEPT complementing my stiches.......which apparently were exceptional Hmm

Definitely ask your midwife May - I think understanding what went wrong can be quite empowering when it comes to making choices next time around. Hopefully this won't happen to you but there is definitely a gap in my notes - a complicated 3-hour operation is summarised in just one line, which is absolute bull as far as I'm concerned, especially when everything before and after is recorded in such detail.

I know there are more comprehensive notes somewhere as there was a 'clinical incident' meeting about it - however patients are apparently not allowed to see those notes as they're for internal training purposes. I just have to hope that whichever consultant I'm under will have access to more comprehensive info about what happened and will help me make the right choices.

May I did a birth reflection as I felt quite traumatised by the whole experience & I found it really helpful. I hope your midwife is helpful Smile

I can't share this anywhere else yet, so I'm sticking it on here! MW booking appointment this Thursday. Must remember to inform her of my surgery to try and ensure my 12w scan isn't the same week.

abfab hope you got good news at your scan, fingers crossed for you!

Ohjellybelly · 29/06/2015 15:33

I think I'm out :(
I'm on my way to A & E as I've had a huge bleed with sticky lumps. I've got a pain going from my belly button to my bum hole. So much so it hurts to sit on it. I'm hoping I can get scanned as EPU couldn't see me until Thursday.

purdiepipesup · 29/06/2015 15:36
