Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 31st grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 49th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates: Stats

Thanks lovelies. It's really got out of hand this week. I shouldn't need laptop as its a work one but they've always been very relaxed about it. It's the tone of the letter that's bothered me and with the anxiety levels I've just got really paranoid and now worrying about job security.

Zyla I appreciate the advice re pre-eclampsia. I'm at the hospital every 3 weeks at the mo so I don't think it's being checked often enough to stop me worrying. I know if I get it I get it, but I'm swelling up in the heat and getting headaches anyways. I'm drinking tons of water to try and reduce swelling and dehydration.

My friend just suggested that the travel is now too much and that I shouldn't go on site next week. It has made me worse being away cos I can't just nip to the midwife or GP if I need to. I will see how I am on Monday then decide.

Sorry for all the me me me. If someone could hand me a grip t would be appreciated Grin

honeysucklejasmine · 25/06/2015 23:13

Very pleased today, DH and I are going to go on holiday! Ok, so we're going with my DP, but they are awesome so that's not a bad thing. We're going to Northumberland. Its so far north! Yikes. Will take 4.5hrs, but at least is straight up A1M. Hope traffic isn't too bad, we plan to go up Friday night. I will be about 12-13 weeks when we go. Hope I have had my scan already!

honeysucklejasmine · 25/06/2015 23:16

Just checked... More like 14-15 weeks. So won't have too bad scanxietyas I'll have had it already.

LaLaLaaaa · 25/06/2015 23:50

Pretzel - salt n vinegar walkers worked for me and I was worse in the evening. God it was a killer!

Honey it drives me bananas when folk don't train their dogs properly then yell at them. Poor dog, but v annoying for you - you should be allowed to go in garden!

Just hooked up to fetal monitor at hospital. Baby is fine, little monster has turned over slightly which is why movements changed. They say absolutely right to have phoned and not to think I am a pain. It could be sign of distress so always get checked out.

He's kicking monitor off Grin

Purple I do totally understand your anxiety but zyla is right - nothing you do is going to change outcome and stress isn't good for baby. So you need to find a way to keep yourself busy and get through it.

deeplybaffled · 25/06/2015 23:58

Had good news yesterday - had another growth scan, and looks like the deepling is putting on some pudge :) abdominal circumference gone from 8th centile to 38th centile in just over 2 weeks, so hoping this will mean that they won't have to induce me early, which was what they were muttering about before. Seeing consultant next week to discuss, but feeling a bit more optimistic now!
Also been taking the spatone now for 4 days or so, and don't care if it is placebo effect or a true change - i am feeling a bit less tired and breathless, so hoping it continues. All together, the pregnant world of deeply is feeling a bit more zen, so keeping fingers crossed that it continues for a little bit Wink
reality will probably hit with a vengeance now that I've tempted fate....

pretzelpieces · 26/06/2015 00:14

la and deeply hooray for reassuring news! Grin

la I've had some success with salt and vinegar hula hoops. My go-to foods keep changing as I start to associate each one with feeling sick as hell Grin thanks for being living proof that people survive the first trimester!

DulcetMoans · 26/06/2015 05:18

5am crew checking in. Too hot and fidgety!

Great news deeply! And even better if it saves you being induced. Hopefully you can be signed off by consultant next week, if that's a possibility.

A little holiday sounds good honey but you're right, that's very north! It can be a list scan celebration. Have you told them already or would this be a chance to break the news when you are all together?

Hopefully the sickness disappears soon pretzel. You just have to do whatever gets you through it - you you have to mainline ginger biscuits as your sole diet now then hopefully you can make up for it with tasty things in a months time.

Glad you got checked over la. What position is he in now?

Morning! Up for my 5.30 pee. All very exciting. Last nights dream brought to you by Dan Brown. Politics and conspiracy theories in an ancient location. Mad.

La, Deeply that's great news!

Dulcet they know already, but yes, it will be lovely. Smile

DulcetMoans · 26/06/2015 06:43

Early start to the morning cleaning as cats decided to use water bowl as a toy overnight and covered their room in water. Cleaning their area was on my list but they obviously thought I hadn't given it enough priority. Sweeping at 6.30am while 38 weeks pregnant is not what I though my life would be like! Especially as my kitten and the broom are archenemies making it difficult to be as effective as you would hope!

I predict lots of baby chatter on that holiday then honey. You will be post scan and they will be excited. Name conversations maybe!

ZylaB · 26/06/2015 06:46

purple if it'd help you stress less ask your gp for a bp machine, or just buy one, they're only about £30 I think? Then you can check your bp at home, when you're not stressed as much and keep a close eye on it. If you notice it going up go to your clinic for checks?

ZylaB · 26/06/2015 06:46

Sorry pressed post too soon..

The protein. In urine is because of high bp, so the high bp comes first. So to catch it earliest, you'd need to be checking bp not urine :)

WilHarlot · 26/06/2015 07:08

That's a great idea zyla.

Grin Grin at the 'so far north' comments. You lily livered southerners Wink . Northumbria is beautiful, you'll have a great time. Quite want to take the kids actually.

Hobbit19 · 26/06/2015 07:12

Morning Viroids.

Pretzel, sorry that you are suffering. I wasn't sick but was nauseous a lot. Cold fruit worked for me so I kept sataumas/tinned fruit in the fridge. It does get better.

Honey, Northumberland is totally stunning. The beaches are so beautiful. You could do a day out in Newcastle too which is a great city.

Deeply, Yey for a podgy baby!

Purple, Flowers.

I am still massively struggling with exhaustion here at 15 weeks. Sad Barely functioning as a human and sometimes too tired to eat. Hopefully seeing the midwife next week so will get her to check my iron levels. So tired that I could cry but I don't have the energy. Waaaaaaaah. Sad

jellypi3 · 26/06/2015 07:31

Aww pretzel sorry you are suffering :( I feel quite weird lucky in that I've been ok, I've only thrown up twice and my nausea is controlled by eating anything so not too bad for me.

la and deeply good news for you both :)

pud no! You're meant to say your bounding around with all this mythical second tri energy everyone talks about!! :) sorry you are feeling shit though. The tiredness is my only real symptom now.

Did anyone else lose their symptoms at around 9 weeks? I'm not overly nauseous (just when I wake up or go ages without eating) and my boobs are much more manageable pain-wise. I even tried sleeping on my belly for the first time in 6 weeks. It didn't work because they were still sore but the fact I could try it was a huge difference to previously!

LaLaLaaaa · 26/06/2015 07:33

Morning!

How did I miss the 'Northumberland is so far north' chat! Amazing! Grin That's just made me chuckle. My family are half Geordie half scots and I normally live in Scotland. Northumberland is south to me!

Honestly honey though you'll have a fab time! It's a lovely area and folk are very nice. You going anywhere near Alnwick? If you're a Harry Potter fan you should.

I wouldn't go Friday night though if I could help it - it'll take way longer than its meant to as its so busy! If you can take the M1 and leave a few hours earlier you'd be much more likely to get there before midnight. A1 has tonnes of roundabouts and is limited to 2 lanes in places, M1 is faster but lots of speed cameras (I do this journey loads to see family)

MiniLa still head down and back forward but back had moved from right to slightly left which is why movement was different. He's right behind belly button so it was pronounced. I just slept through from 1am when we got back to now! That's not happened for months

Pretzel and pud those early stages are hard work! I don't think I ever appreciated it until it was me. I always thought the third tri would be hardest.

Rest as much as you can and nibble on something constantly for MS. Rice cakes, crisps, nuts, ice lollies, whatever helps. Don't worry it does stop for a bit until 3rd tri exhaustion kicks in

LaLaLaaaa · 26/06/2015 07:34

Deeply that's brilliant news! You must be so pleased. And I'm glad Spatone worked, I find it helps me

LaLaLaaaa · 26/06/2015 07:38

Jelly read back about 2 pages of thread and you'll see us reassuring someone else that symptoms going at 9 weeks isn't a panic Grin everyone panics but they come and go through first tri - in two days you'll feel like death again! sorry

Mine vanished just before 12 week scan and I was beside myself. All fine Grin

Today I plan to pack bag properly! Yesterday I had to fling remaining stuff in to go to hospital - just in case. It looks like a child has packed it

Fleurchamp · 26/06/2015 07:39

So sorry to hear you are stressed purplei agree with whoever said above that there is no point worrying about getting pre-eclampsia - what will be will be.

Check whether you can buy/ hire a BP machine - I think lloyds pharmacy do them - if it will put your mind at rest.

Those talking about hypnobirthing above - to me it's just like the guided relaxation at the end of yoga sessions but with positive thoughts about labour. I think the thing it is trying to do is make your brain think you have been in labour before and your body will know what to do - therefore when you go into labour for real you will not panic.

I am a bit sceptical but it is doing wonders for my anxiety at the moment, I am feeling incredibly chilled out for someone who could drop at any time (and who usually worries about everything).

Glad you got checked out la the movements I have been getting have changed but not in terms of pattern or frequency - just that the little blighter is running out of room.

Fleurchamp · 26/06/2015 07:41

Oh and re work - I thought if you had a car/ phone as a perk (and are taxed on them) you can keep them during mat. Leave?

I have a friend who kept her company car but had to pay the tax still.

Hobbit19 · 26/06/2015 07:41

Jelly 9 weeks I think is common for symptoms to start fluctuating more. Don't worry they will be back! And I do think most people have more energy by now that is why I am so cross about it!

honeysucklejasmine · 26/06/2015 07:45

Ooh, thanks La. We could leave about 5.15 on Friday. Do you reckon we'd be better off setting out early on Saturday?

batfish · 26/06/2015 07:50

Wow I've missed so much I can't possibly catch up! Have read a bit but sorry if I've missed anything important.

jelly I didn't have any symptoms other than sore boobs but they definitely got better later on, some days they would be worse than others. Don't worry if things are easing off, it seems to happen. When do you have another scan on your awesome trial?

purple really sorry to hear you're feeling anxious, it must be horrible. I'm sure you have nothing to worry about with your job and it is just a standard letter. Hope you get some reassurance generally and feel better soon. Don't worry about talking lots on here, we all have our moments and it's what we are here for when we feel like we are boring people in real life! Smile

la glad all is ok with minila, very good that you went in. I am seeing doc tomorrow so am going to ask him what I do if I'm worried because I don't know who to call. Had a couple of quiet times this week which was a bit worrying but all seems ok now!

LaLaLaaaa · 26/06/2015 07:55

Bat definitely ask as you don't want to be sitting worrying later and not knowing who to phone

Honey it's up to you obviously but that is a long long drive on a road that's very busy normally and is worse on Friday afternoon/eve. If you have the time to do it ie it's not going to wreck the holiday then I'd suggest early set off Saturday

WilHarlot · 26/06/2015 08:01

They haven't disappeared though Jelly, just lessened a bit, which I think is perfectly normal.

Agree that road can be a nightmare. We got very stuck the last time we drove up from Suffolk on a Friday. If you don't mind arriving late on Friday night, might be better setting off after rush hour? Or do M1 like La says. Although actually think we got stuck at the north end of it which you'd have to go on even if you did M1.

jellypi3 · 26/06/2015 08:13

Thanks folks :) I'm glad that it's normal for them to fluctuate. I just feel too good to be pregnant at the moment! Especially when I glance at the Feb group and they are all dying.

bat a week and a half :) I'll be 10+3 and they do a 3D scan so hoping we get to see the little jelly bean properly!

The trial is actually all about the effects of pregnancy on the heart and how by monitoring certain signs they are trying to be able to better predict the risks of pre-eclampsia. I'm glad to be helping science in this way :)

honey I agree with others. The M1 is probably your best bet but you will get caught in traffic regardless. Can you get DH to leave work early or something? I do hate the M1, used to use it all the time for uni!
