Joskar a seagull ate your cake? ! Funny but not funny!! How rude of it. Did it just snatch it out of your hand?

Equimum · 21/08/2015 06:48

OMC and Fanby, I'm glad you all got through the heel prick test and that your LOs are gaining weight. Well done!

Joskar, I'm surprised the shock factor of the cake theif didn't induce labour (or at least make you cry!). Can I ask, did I miss some induction advice from a previous post? I was a bit surprised to see your precise words if encouragement in your last post Grin. Please tell me that is NOT what I need to do to get this baby out Grin. Anyway, I hope you get some progress soon.

Frolic, I hope you either had a good night or we're busy labouring away.

Well, my in-laws go home from their trip to see the baby today Confused. The pressure, however, is no less, as my aunt and uncle arrive at my mum's with the very same intention. They were only meant to be down until Sunday but have casually decided to extend until Tuesday Hmm. They've reassured me that if anything happens they'll all head over and help my mum look after DS. Even subtly pointing out that we might be around for a while before we go to the hospital hasn't discouraged them....they just said it would be nice to see us.

Fanby · 21/08/2015 06:48

Ahh I love the sound of seagulls!! You can get some biggins now which don't help my bird phobia lol. Happy due date! If it helps, I had no twinges at all, so you never know!! Sending water breaking-dilating thoughts!! xx

Fanby · 21/08/2015 06:49

Biggins = big'uns!

Frolicacid · 21/08/2015 06:54

It's my due date! And I'm still pregnant. Still not had a single twinge. I walked for ages with my friend yesterday. I may also kill the next person who texts or face books me telling me to eat curry.

Well done baby fanby and baby OMC on being good for your injections. And good girl baby dozy for the weight gain.

Are you going to go back and shoot that seagul jockstar? I would be tempted. I hope you managed a good nights sleep.

I'm off to the midwife This morning. Totally undecided on the to sweep or not to sweep question. Baby still might not be engaged, in which case she won't offer one.

Equimum · 21/08/2015 07:49

Happy due date Frolic. I hope you get on okay at the midwife, whatever you choose. I see your patience with all the texters has finally given way Grin.

Iwishicouldflyfarfaraway · 21/08/2015 08:24

Morning all, I've spent the last couple of days trying to be active in the hope of starting labour ( and I got bored of having to keep changing passwords)

Happy due date frolic , I'm now 40+2 which is a first as I've never been overdue Confused I have a midwife appointment today so should be getting a sweep which will hopefully get things going, as nothing else seems to be working!

Pinkie my apologies for the mix up with 4 hours& 4 miles Blush it must be have been baby brain Grin.

I can't believe some of is are already having the heel prick done on babies ...

Sending positive labour thoughts to all of us still waiting & calming sleeping thoughts to those who are up every couple of hours with their newborns.

Lilydreams · 21/08/2015 08:58

Just wanted to POp in and see how everyone's doing! I've got a lot of reading up do to catch up but congrats to those whose babies have arrived and chin up keep going to those still waiting and uncomfy! I can't even imagine still being pregnant now and I could have been as DD was 12th but little monkey will be 4 weeks old on Sunday! So bizarre! Been so busy adapting to having him and we moved when he was 5 days old so that was crazy! Will try and catch up now- is there a post natal thread at all or are we all staying here to chat?

Frolicacid · 21/08/2015 11:03

I hope your appointment and sweep goes ok today iwish.

I'm all out of patience equimum. I'm going to try ignoring, and if that doesn't work I'll start with passive aggressive.

Lovely to hear from you lily. I hope you are settling in to your new home. Where on earth has 4 weeks gone?!

Baby frolic is still not even a tiny bit engaged! So I couldn't have a sweep even if I wanted one. We discussed induction appointments, but I'm going to wait until my next appointment at 41 weeks to decide what to do.
I think I may have to spend the rest of the day sulking.

Happy Friday everyone. I usually say that we're 1 week closer to meeting our babies on a Friday - but today I'm wandering if I'm just going to be pregnant forever!

Joskar · 21/08/2015 11:11

I had momentarily left the outside table to nip to the loo(for the eleventy millionth time) and the waiter foolishly left my cake sitting unattended. Swoop! They gave me replacement cake but the whole place was hugely entertained by the sight of a wee, round woman frantically waddling and flapping at a feral bastard gull. Blush

Slightly stressing about movements at the moment. Baby is moving regularly but much more slowly than usual. Should I ring the unit? It's been a couple of days of this. Having a scan on Monday. Maybe just not much space in there now?

Equimum · 21/08/2015 11:24

Joskar, you are probably right, and it's just space, but if you are at all worried, call your midwife/ the hospital. I have been advised to get any slight concern double checked at this stage do it's probably worth getting reassurance.

Oh Frolic, I'm sorry that things weren't in your favour for a sweep today. Hopefully baby will be in position (or out) by your next appointment. I know what you mean about being pregnant forever, though Sad .

It's good to hear from you Lily. I hope you are all settled into your new home and getting I to the swing of life with your little one. Can't believe that you were due three days before me and now have a four week old..that's crazy.

Joskar · 21/08/2015 20:26

Just back from the hospital. Baby ok but they weren't convinced by the first lot of trace. Baby still quite sluggish and quiet. It improved thanks be. Stress!

Frolicacid · 21/08/2015 20:37

Glad all is ok jockstar. Sorry you've had a stressful day. Brew for you and Cake to make the baby wiggle. Don't hesitate to go back if you're still worried Flowers
Did the monitor show any contractions?

I'm sure we won't be pregnant for ever equimum. Hopefully not anyway!

I've done my sulking and am feeling a bit more cheerful tonight. A lovely Chineese helped lots. My plan of action is to keep busy, keep walking and try to enjoy sleeping while I sort of can.
I had my first lot of maternity pay today! Ouch! I think it's time to cut back on the coffee's and lunches.

I'm hope everyone else is ok?

Joskar · 21/08/2015 22:49

A few contractions. Nothing major. I'd been getting them pretty steady up to this week. Baby is just really quiet. Even after sweet things and iced water and so on. Just doesn't feel right. There's a heartbeat right enough but not many kicks. I'm booked for a scan on Monday anyway but they've said to not hesitate to come back in if need be. I'm pretty stressed about it.

Equimum · 22/08/2015 07:25

Joskar, sorry your LOs movements are still a but subtle. Definately go back if you are still worried.

Did you know how much your pay would drop by Frolic? It's always a bit of a stark realisation when you actually see the reduction in your account, isn't it? All a bit different here this time, though, as I left my job last year.

Had a lovely curry last night, DH insisted that, erm, physical stimulation might be required, so we struggled through that, and so far the effort has had no impact Sad.

Dozygirl · 22/08/2015 09:11

Joskar how are the movements today? I remember struggling to feel my lo move for most of my pregnancy. Because of my high blood pressure I ended up having lots of monitoring done so it helped reassure me that she was fine in their despite me not feeling her much. Trace would be worse if I led quite flat but would improve if turned on my side or more upright.

Feels like being pregnant was a dream now! lilydreams there is an august postnatal thread running now that a few of us are on if u want to join.

Frolic aren't the tips for getting baby out annoying. That's one thing I got annoyed at when I was bearing the end. Didn't mind ppl asking if baby was here yet but hated all the suggestions. Hope your baby comes soon!

Equimum hope baby makes an appearance soon for u

Joskar · 22/08/2015 10:43

I'm going to give it another few hours and then go back in if it's not better. The baby has been so active up to now. Quite a big change in behaviour. So tired after a very hot and disturbed night.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Frolicacid · 22/08/2015 14:28

I hope you're ok jockstar. Definitely go back if you're still worried. Thinking of you Flowers

I've got them to even out my pay over the 9 months equimum. I thought I'd worked out roughly how much it was going to be, but maths is not my strong point and what was in my account yesterday was less than I expected. Ah well, it will do us good to cut back. And I really must stop buying cute dungarees for him.
Well done you on managing the physical stimulation! Dh keeps making romantic offers to 'poke' the baby out but I've not fancied trying in over the past few days.

How are you doing dozy? I hope you're enjoying getting to know your little lady. The 'helpful' advice about how to get the baby out is definitely more annoying than the 'any news' texts.

I hope everyone is ok today and having a good weekend.
I had a horrendous migraine over night. Spent most of it awake, crying, puking and shivering. I gave in at about 5 am and took some of my usual migraine meds. I had discussed it with my gp a while ago and he advised me that the risks are so small that I could take it if really necessary. I've only taken 2 doses through the pregnancy, but obviously I would rather have not.
My migraines are hormonal, so I'm hoping it means something is changing.
In feel really hungover today (always do after a bad attack) so am sticking to the sofa. I really feel like I should go walking to get this baby's head down but I doubt I'll make it far.

AbsB · 22/08/2015 16:57

Hi everyone, I was on this thread ages ago but dropped off it. Am 42 weeks pregnant and climbing the walls! Is anyone else as overdue??

Equimum · 22/08/2015 17:08

Oh Frolic, I can't imagine how awful having a migraine must be at this stage. Hopefully it is a sign of your body preparing for labour, although I hope you can build your strength up first. Walking might encourage the baby down, but you need your strength for labour, so a day on the sofa is almost certainly the best thing for you. I hope get a good nights sleep tonight and feel much stronger tomorrow.

Joskar, I hope your LO has started to have a bit more of a wriggle now. Have you had to go back to the hospital today?

It's really hot here and I burst into tears when DH suggested we walk into town to do the shopping. Ended up driving in but having a walk round the air conditioned area. I think I can safely say that all our eviction efforts last night have just left me with a sore fanjo, a slightly iffy belly, sore hips, sore knees and no baby! I think DH may be unlucky if he suggests that again (BTW, I love the term 'poke it out' Frolic).

I hope everyone has a good Saturday evening, whether it's preparing to get these stubborn little monkies out, or cuddling the ones who understand the meaning of a due date Smile.

Dozygirl · 22/08/2015 18:27

Frolic I've spread mine out over 12 months. Your first two months will be worse because u don't get the governmental statutory maternity part added in until the 8 weeks even if u spread it out so hopefully it'll improve slightly for you. Baby girl is doing just fine. She's a little demanding at times and likes to feed for hours off me which means I can't go anywhere or get much sleep so have resorted to occasional bottle feeds jus to satisfy her but it's all worth it. Can't wait for u all to have yours too. It really is amazing.

Absb sorry to hear your 42 weeks over. Are u booked for an induction? Seems pretty late now!

Frolic how rubbish you got a migraine. Really hope it is a sign things are changing.

Joskar hope you've got on ok at the hospital if u went in.

AbsB · 22/08/2015 19:32

Yes dozygirl, I'm booked in for a sweep tomorrow, monitoring on Monday and an induction on Tuesday. I was due August 8th and DH has been off work since. He goes back on Tuesday and my poor 5 year old DD is starting to have a break down. That and the stupid texts from people!!! When are you due? Hmm

AbsB · 22/08/2015 19:33

Sorry, just read your post! Congratulations, you've had your DD, how exciting!Smile

Equimum · 22/08/2015 20:26

Dozy, it's good to hear you are getting on okay, even if your little girl is quite demanding. Is your DH still in leave?

AbsB, sorry to hear you have gone so far past your EDD. I really hope the sweep kicks things off for you. GOOD LUCK! It's a shame your DH will be going back to work so soon. Do you have any other help? I guess you'll need quite a bit of support with two. I am currently 41 weeks and have a boy who will be 3 later in the year.

Joskar · 22/08/2015 22:57

Relief! Baby's movement has picked up a bit. I'm still a bit concerned that it isn't back to what it was. Hopefully we'll have more moves tomorrow and the scan on Monday will confirm everything is ok. Didn't go in today but will tomorrow if I don't get a bit more gymnastics.

Sympathy for migraines and overdue babies. I went 12 days over last time and I think it was the longest couple of weeks of my life! Reckon I'm more mentally prepared for going over this time. I've sort of been adding a fortnight to my due date. My dh is self employed so fortunately we're quite flexible. Mind you it means no paternity pay or leave but he at least he can alter his hours to suit our needs a bit more. He's thinking of going on a job 70 miles away next week which I'm a bit concerned about. No doubt the best way of getting this baby to shift is him doing that!

Oh and those with one already no doubt you've already thought of this but we hadn't packed a bag for dd to go to her gps. They didn't have pyjamas or anything when we spent the whole of the afternoon and evening at the hospital on Friday. I've packed a bag for her now.
