Anybody else out there??! Just got my faint BFP on a first response test! Only 9DPO so shouldn't really have tested - I told myself I wouldn't till I missed my period! - but was just feeling very pregnant. My due date is showing as 1st March. This would be number 2 for me, I already have a little girl, 20 months. Only symptoms so far are very sore boobs and a snuffy nose first thing in the morning!

Oh gnomette, very sorry to hear it. Flowers hope you are as ok as could be expected in the circumstances.

Mrsrsw · 05/07/2015 22:07

Hiya, I'm new in here .... Due date coming out as 8th March or 11th March depending on the site Smile

Got my BFP on Thursday after 12 months of trying and a few problems so I've been extremely lucky to get to where I am. Started feeling a bit grotty this weekend with nausea and mild headaches

Just trying to figure out what I need to be doing now!

Mrsrsw · 05/07/2015 22:25

Take care gnomette x

Herewegoagain31 · 05/07/2015 23:10

So sorry Gnomette x

Hi Mrs, Is this your first?

So sorry Gnome xxx

Kittykitty05 · 06/07/2015 06:47

Very sorry Gnomette, take care of yourself x

Mrs call your doctors to get the ball rolling with midwife bookings although you're not seen for a bit. Then relax and enjoy that you're pregnant! I know how shocked you can feel after a long time trying when it finally happens! Congratulations!

Embolio · 06/07/2015 09:36

Welcome Mrs and congrats! I think in some areas you can self refer to your midwife but near me the gp still does it, give them a ring and check maybe?

maybebabybee · 06/07/2015 09:45

I'm 4+1 today. When should I bother calling the doctor? Should I even bother? I know from my m/c pregnancy that I need to self refer.

Kittykitty05 · 06/07/2015 10:32

Last time I self referred but by 11 weeks hadn't heard anything so had to chase, and they'd lost my paperwork.
They normally book you in about 8-10 weeks, so this time I'll prob wait till I'm about 6 or 7 weeks (5+2 now) then go in and fill out the form.

maybebabybee · 06/07/2015 10:44

I self referred previously and got a letter within 5 days, I think UCLH are quite good like that (or maybe I was just lucky!).

I need to give work quite a lot of notice for time off due to them needing someone to cover, so I think I'll try to get my appointments booked as soon as possible. If I MC I shall just have to cancel them like before, heartbreaking as it was to do that.

Smirkingpicnicbasket · 06/07/2015 11:58

Warning TMI re Sickness!

I've caught a bug off my daughter, it's quite nasty and I've just vomited up lots of bile! I've got severe stomach cramps and diarrhoea - I literally don't think there's anything left inside me now!

Should I be overly concerned about seeing the doctor - I would usually just wait it out at home til it's gone but I feel awful and obviously don't want to harm the pregnancy! My husband has it too so as you can imagine it's fun in our house today!

dobbythedoggy · 06/07/2015 12:42

smirk Not sure that the gp would be able to do anything for you with regards to being pregnant. But would probably be ablle to give you a bit of reassurance. Not a medical professional but when I was newly pregnant with dd I had bronchitus was a really high fever and my gp was lovely about reassuirng me. Something a long the lines of how embroys are desgined to withstand the harsher conditions of our bodies when we're ill. Maybe you could ask for a call back if you're finding it worrying?

I would think you'd be adviced to try to stay hydrated and rest as much as you can.

Hope you're all feeling better soon.

smallbird · 06/07/2015 12:47

I just spoke to the receptionist at my doctor's surgery and asked her for a midwife appointment for booking in. She put me in for when I'm 9 weeks. Didn't have to fill in any forms or anything, she just checked I'd have a positive test and said to call them if I needed to change it or be seen for a problem sooner than my booking appointment.

I had a bug at this stage in my last pregnancy smirking, I phoned NHS Direct and they said I could be seen if I wanted reassurance but that there wasn't anything they'd do unless I was dehydrated or it went on for a long time as at that stage it wouldn't harm the baby. If you don't want to go to the doctor you could always try the nurse clinic at a walk in centre? Hope you feel better soon.

Last night I nearly threw up just looking at a pizza, so the sickness is well and truly back I think. Last time I had an aversion to melted cheese in the first trimester, looks like I've got that again this time lucky me.

dakomponist · 06/07/2015 12:49

Hello Team March 2016!

I'm joining you as if this minute- just done the test!

Already mum of DD1 - 21 months. I'm thrilled to be pregnant again but dreading the pregnancy - I had a bad time early on last time as I had to go to a&e with hyperemesis g. Fingers crossed this will be different.

flyingbex · 06/07/2015 14:11

Hey all... Found out today i'm pregnant... Only 1-2 weeks.. I only had IUI on 26th June.. My clinic have said it was too early to do a test and could have a false positive. I feel deflated now

maybebabybee · 06/07/2015 14:25

flying false positives are very unusual aren't they? I would try with another test brand to confirm.

Kittykitty05 · 06/07/2015 14:29

That's 10 days on, not too early at all! Congratulations Bex and also to Dax

maybebabybee · 06/07/2015 15:36

Just did my second CB digital (I promised myself I wouldn't but my willpower is crap) at 4+1 and it's gone up to 2-3 weeks which it hadn't done even at 5+4 last time, so I'm very much hoping that's a good sign!

congrats any newbies I've missed.

BeautifulLiar · 06/07/2015 15:41

maybebaby - mine went up too at about 4+1... It's a nice feeling isn't it?!

I think I'm 4+5 now, but really cant be sure. Actually willing the morning sickness on so I have some pregnancy signs - I'll regret that soon!

This baby wasn't planned, and I'm so worried about the Budget on Wednesday. It could seriously affect us Sad time will tell I suppose... really don't want it to spoil my whole pregnancy if its bad news.

Herewegoagain31 · 06/07/2015 15:43

maybe that's great news and a very positive sign!
And flying 10 days isn't too early at all - I got a relatively strong positive at 9dpo. It depends when you ovulated - if you ovulated on 26th,27th or even as late as 28th (tho it would be unusual) you could get a positive today!

OP posts:
maybebabybee · 06/07/2015 15:50

beautiful yes so satisfying, especially as I basically had 2 weeks of 1-2 last time, so I knew something was wrong.

No symptoms really yet. I was under the impression from speaking to friends that it's more common for them to kick in around the 6 week mark, so we'll see. I feel vaguely sick occasionally, but I don't know if that's pregnancy related or not. And my boobs are a bit sore, but not massively.

dobbythedoggy · 06/07/2015 16:15

I got a 3+ on saturday morning maybe, I didn't even get a pregnant with clear blue digital last time so found it really reasuring. Feel slightly more relaxed and looking forward to my booking appointment on wednesday.

With regaurds to symptoms I've definantly got them, but I think that's just how my body reacts to pregnancy. I had them with the pregnancy I mc but they weren't paticually strong. When I was pregnant with dd, 3 other women I worked with also got pregnant within the same few months. I was the only one who really had any symptoms. So no symptoms might just be normal for your body. One of the only symptoms one of them ever had was bigger boobs and then a bump! The last one worried herself silly over no symptoms and what she should and shouldn't be doing.

BeautifulLiar · 06/07/2015 16:27

As I've had severe morning sickness in my last three pregnancies I'm determined to be more prepared this time. Just thought I'd share my ideas in case they're of use to anyone!

  1. I've stocked up on paper plates, bowls, cups and plastic spoons so there will be minimal washing up.

  2. Bought a £3.99 stacking stool from Argos so I can sit in the shower - I used to nearly faint in there!

  3. Ordered nose plugs and sickness bands from eBay

  4. Taught my nearly 7 year old how to make a sandwich!

  5. Stocked up on loooads of crisps, which are being stored in different rooms. I'm not normally a crisp girl but they were the only things that fought off the feeling of ravenous hunger which is what usually causes a vomiting sesh!

Can't think of any more right now... Can you tell how nervous I am?! Grin

Mrsrsw · 06/07/2015 16:42

Yeah it's my first. Went to docs today and did self referral form for the midwife so it's all a bit of an anticlimax as I've just got to wait now - apparently she's going to ring me and book me in.

The smell of food has been knocking me sick these last few days and I've had a dull headache for a few days now too so I'm making sure I drink plenty water and trying to take it easy x

JoannaZZ · 06/07/2015 16:47

Welcome to the new people!

Those of you who are continuing to take digital pregnancy tests after the BFP - did you find that it helped? I should be 5+3 today and still have very little symptoms, a bit worried that my hormones might not be going up as they should.

I took a digital test on 4+1 and it said "1-2", maybe if I buy another one it will have gone up now? Or am I just overanalysing and should just relax more?
