Anybody else out there??! Just got my faint BFP on a first response test! Only 9DPO so shouldn't really have tested - I told myself I wouldn't till I missed my period! - but was just feeling very pregnant. My due date is showing as 1st March. This would be number 2 for me, I already have a little girl, 20 months. Only symptoms so far are very sore boobs and a snuffy nose first thing in the morning!

Welcome kitty hope things will go smoothly for you this time.

Dh has decided I really must be pregant. I was very tearful yesterday and exhausted despite doing nothing. He said it was almost impossable to wake me this morning, I've been a very light sleeper since dd was born. He also got kicked out of the bathroom this morning, trying to eat and drink something before getting up did not help with sickness! But suprisingly happy to be being sick.

Anyone contemplating an early pregnancy scan at a private clinic? Very tempted.

dobbythedoggy · 04/07/2015 10:30

lucy If I'm not refured to epau by the midwife, I think I'm very likely to go private for one at around 8 or 9 weeks. It's only £60 in this area which I understand is cheep, but the clinic seems to have the marmite effect on people I've spoken to. But really hoping midwife will see the case for a referal to the hosiptal, as I know the staff are amazing there, because I've concived right away post mc and self imposed worry is sort of limiting what I'm doing at the moment.

Chickpea1983 · 04/07/2015 11:18

We are going for an early scan. Costs £99 but worth it for the early piece of mind for me. This is my second but way more worried this time and don't know why! Maybe I am more exposed to the negative side than I was last time

Paperblank · 04/07/2015 13:55

Have just taken my 4th test in 24 hrs. Still pregnant Grin

According to NHS Website my EDD is 13th March.

So please can I join in? Me and the bean are currently lying in the sun having a lazy afternoon!

Lucy61 · 04/07/2015 14:22

Welcome, Paper.

I'm also hoping the epu will see me as its only a couple of months since my operation with them. If not, I might go for a private scan, although not sure of their quality. A basic search revealed that one of the scan centres is based in a cosmetic dentistry shop! Not sure I'd trust what they had to say.

BeautifulLiar · 04/07/2015 15:32

Paper - I keep doing tests too! in fact I've ordered some more with the asda shop Blush

Herewegoagain31 · 04/07/2015 16:03

Hi Kitty and Paper! Kitty I hope everything goes well for you this pregnancy, sounds like you have been through a lot and i'm sorry to hear about your baby boy.

I feel horrible at the moment, 6 weeks today and the nausea and exhaustion have really hit. Its just so much harder doing this with a toddler to look after! So glad it is the weekend today as I have handed DD over to DH and I am off duty. Its a beautiful day outside but I feel so rubbish I'm just lying in bed! Why do these first weeks have to be like this?!? Makes no sense that you can be 9 months pregnant with a fully grown baby being sustained inside you and feel great, but be 6 weeks with something the size of a tiny poppyseed inside and feel like death!

BeautifulLiar · 04/07/2015 16:28

Aagghh Here you're making me nervous! think I'm 4+2 today, but could be up to 4+6. And DH I going to work away soon. Shitting myself! At least it's the summer hols soon so I won't have to hide sickness on the school run...

Herewegoagain31 · 04/07/2015 17:35

Beautiful how was the first 12 weeks of your last pregnancy? Fingers crossed for you that you don't feel ill for a while yet! I found my diary from when i was preggers with DD and I started feeling bad at almost exactly the same time as I am this time. I'd felt pretty much ok till thursday which was 5+5 - then its gone rapidly downhill the last two days! One of my pregnancy apps says 9/10 weeks are the worst then in theory most people start to feel better with most symptoms gone by 13/14. That is exactly happened to me last time so I'm hoping I also feel better by 13 weeks this time. It was just easier last time as I sat at my desk in my nice air conditioned office and felt sorry for myself but this time having to run around after a toddler in this heat, cook food, change smelly nappies etc.. uggh! And I know I am lucky I don't know how ladies who are sick throughout pregnancy manage. A lot of respect to them!

Last three times I started feeling sick 10-14 days after the BFP and then felt terrible until 13-17 weeks.

however, I was a very different person back then, and I'm hoping my new found positivity will serve me well Grin

Chickpea1983 · 04/07/2015 21:44

Oh yay, the constipation has started!

Embolio · 05/07/2015 08:38

Hello all, tentative joining in from me too, edd 11 March and baby #3 for me, all being well. I have two boys aged 2 & 3.

Had a chemical pregnancy back in May so feeling cautious at the moment. Have been a bit nauseous and exhausted, I was in bed at 8.30 last night! Feeling quite crampy but trying to keep the anxiety on the down low! < waving>

ManAliveThisThingsFantastic · 05/07/2015 16:46

Hey all, mind if I join?

Got a BFP yesterday!! Due 2nd March with my first child.

Bit worried about work and how everthing will pan out but over the moon at the moment.

Congrats to everyone else on this thread Flowers

JoannaZZ · 05/07/2015 16:53

Hi, I'll join too if that's ok :)

Finally got my first BFP last week after 8 months of trying. EDD is 4 March or thereabouts. So excited!

I'm 30 and none of our friends have kids yet so not sure what to expect.

Embolio · 05/07/2015 17:18

Congratulations manalive Smile I'm wondering when to tell work, wouldn't normally consider saying owt before 12 week scan but I'm a nurse and working in theatres and doing moving and handling and working while patients being xrayed etc so think I'm going to have to tell my boss earlier so they can risk assess... Any other nurses on the thread that could advise? Hope everyone is having a good Sunday.

Embolio · 05/07/2015 17:19

Welcome Joannazz, cross posted. Congratulations Smile

maybebabybee · 05/07/2015 17:59

Welcome all newbies!

I really don't think I can relax and enjoy anything til the 12 week scan. Anyone got any tips to make the next 2 months go faster??!

JoannaZZ · 05/07/2015 18:50

maybebabybee I think it's best not to think ahead too much because that just slows down time. I'm trying to just stay amazed at the fact that there's something growing inside me which is a mixture of me and my other half. That's pretty amazing whatever happens.

Also, I just read Andy Puddicombe's book about mindfulness and meditation during pregnancy, which was a good antidote to the information overload we get on the internet! Even if you have never meditated it's worth a try because it really changes your perspective on things.

GreyLena · 05/07/2015 19:02

Thanks for the book recommendation Joanna! I've got my first scan in a week , but anything to distract me is a good thing! Has anyone had a week 7 scan before? Any idea of what i can expect?

Herewegoagain31 · 05/07/2015 19:05

joanna none of my friends had babies when I had DD (I turned 30 the day after I had her). I was hoping they'd all crack on since then (they're all married) but STILL none of them have children and I'm now on to number 2!! I wish they would hurry up! I was really worried and also knew nothing about children - when DD popped out she was the first baby I'd held in my life - but you'll meet lots of new mummy friends (definitely do a local NCT class if you can) and also it means your baby will be extra special and exciting and the centre of attention when your friends are around!

Herewegoagain, glad to hear it worked out for you even though you were the first! I have also barely ever held a baby, will have to learn everything from scratch when the time comes. I guess lots of people prioritise getting married and having a few years to themselves before having babies. We are doing the opposite, were planning to get married in spring/summer but will have to delay that now (been procrastinating so haven't booked anything yet anyway).

I hope your married friends get inspired and start having babies soon Grin

Embolio · 05/07/2015 21:18

Ds1 was the first baby I'd ever held too, I was 33 when I had him (36 now). Amongst our friends people had either had kids years ago or not at all so we were the only ones with a young baby at the time, a few have followed suit since though. I constantly wish there was a parenting manual!

Joannazz I've just ordered that book, reckon mindfulness is what I need, I'm determined to try to enjoy this pregnancy as I was so anxious with ds1 and then with ds2 I had a young toddler to contend with so didn't really even think about being pregnant much. I wish I could fast forward these next couple of weeks though!

laughingGnomette · 05/07/2015 21:42

Time for me to tap out I think :(

I woke up this morning with my sheets soaked with blood (sorry, tmi). I've been bleeding quite heavily throughout the day with clots so I'm pretty certain that's it for me. I'll take a test in a couple of days but holding out zero hope.

Good luck and best wishes to the rest of you xx
