stocking those people are full of shit aren't they! Any loss of a baby is huge, no matter when. I'm sorry to hear of your mc. With my chemical pg, I spent two days in bed not talking talking to anybody, and that was only at 3 weeks. Those people who were dismissive have obv never been through it. So sorry you both had to deal with that Flowers

haquoi123 · 25/06/2015 12:13

mirabel, can you prioritise? Is there anything you can do tomorrow? You'll probably feel better in the long run if you listen to your body now

Rufus200 · 25/06/2015 12:22

Hacquoi truce, and I'm very sorry for your loss.

I'm not sure if anyone else is going private for their antenatal care on here but incase there is anyone, and that it has taken 3 long phone calls this morning on top of all the GP's time, this is the facts.

If your obstetrician is doing your full antenatal care then you do not need to contact the NHS! The hospital you have your baby at will send a form to the NHS informing them you have given birth and the NHS will then take over your post natal care and organise health visitor checks for your baby. You do not need to be in the NHS system as I was repeatedly wrongly told.

If you are just giving birth privately but having antenatal care with the NHS then you do need to book in with them.

With regards to antenatal classes I've just been informed that irrelevant of whether I'm in the NHS system or not I can not attend classes at the local hospital as only women that are physically having their baby there can attend but I can attend the local classes in my town as long as you are registered with a local NHS GP.

Charlotte I was offered the 1st available NHS appointment today for booking in, which would have made me already 11w! I think you really need to contact the NHS ASAP.

Is anyone else having NIPT/Harmony test? I'm booked in for 3 weeks time.

rufus yeah I'm having the Harmony on 9th Jul. I had it with DS and found it great. There's no nuchal screening as standard here in Ireland so by the time you pay for it privately you might as well just get the Harmony test, is my feeling anyway.

Think I was fleeced the last time though. I paid over twice what I'll be paying this time.

Brummiegirl15 · 25/06/2015 12:55

I will be having a harmony test but only if the nuchal scan comes back as high risk

Although if you have the harmony test and it's positive, you still have to have amniocentesis or cvs to 100% confirm.

But hopefully after the nuchal scan I won't need it!!!

I will be doing nct as well - more for meeting other new mums rather than anything else.

clumsypots · 25/06/2015 12:56

Has anyone else gone off any foods yet? Just sat at my desk at work trying to eat a salad, it's not going well!

WouldRatherHaveCake · 25/06/2015 13:11

haquoi I could have had one sooner if I didn't mind which midwife I saw, but I requested the one I had last time so I don't mind the wait. Plus I'm still in the stage of not really thinking about it or not getting my hopes up so I don't really want to deal with it now anyway!

stocking I'm sorry you guys went through that Flowers

WouldRatherHaveCake · 25/06/2015 13:12

Lol clumsy I don't need to be pregnant to be unenthusiastic about a salad

IslaMann · 25/06/2015 13:20

Feeling weird today. Sort of light headed, without being dizzy, and low level nausea. Also, I have no enthusiasm for anything. Cant concentrate on anything either. It as though baby is sapping all my energy. I'm also getting increasingly anxious, as the time is approaching that I lost my baby last time, even though I had no sign until 11.5 weeks. the scan showed that my loss occurred at 8+3. I'm 8 weeks tomorrow. I don't have my booking in appointment until 9 weeks, meaning no scan for ages yet, and cant afford to pay for an early scan.

Sorry to bring the mood down. Just have no one else to share this with as DH at work.

clarabellski · 25/06/2015 13:41

Isla, I've been feeling like that for the past 3 weeks.

I just spent 20 minutes hiding in the work loo with my eyes closed. Not the most hygienic place to take a nap....

peggysue82 · 25/06/2015 13:44

Urrgggh sickness is at a all time high today. Currently sat at desk trying my best not to barf in front of colleagues...keep going to loo but I'm in such a busy building that it definitely wouldn't go unnoticed if I started puking. Hmm I actually just want to get it out of my system but can't....pretty sure if I was elsewhere I would have been sick few times by now but am having to try my best to hold it in. Yuk!!!!!

Bosabosa · 25/06/2015 13:47

Isla I am sorry you are feeling low-I can completely understand why in the circumstances. Given your symptoms, it does sound like normal pregnancy signs.. So all you can think is that today you are pregnant. as others have said, having the scan might only help for the day-then afterwards you start worrying about what might have happened since the scan ( I know I am!!) Perhaps you can see your GP to talkabout how you are feeling??
thinking of you

birdbrain21 · 25/06/2015 13:51

Clumsy last time I threw up after supper one night before even knowing I was pg after that the thought kf meat made me gag the whole pregnancy. This time I've gone off eggs, my fave last time, and fish and most of the time I'm just not in the mood for anything! I'll swap with you though would love a salad right now I'm in a hot stuffy classroom something fresh sounds good!

Brummiegirl15 · 25/06/2015 14:11

Isla I know exactly how you feel. I'm 8+1 today and this is my danger week. I've lost my previous babies between 8-9 weeks and I'm terrified.

If I get to my scan next Friday at 9+2, it will be the furthest I've ever got

clumsypots · 25/06/2015 14:23

Haha wouldrather I am trying to be healthy...perhaps I should give up I obviously should just stick to cheese on crackers.

bird I would definitely swap I am loving eggs at the moment! it was beef mince I went off last time, I couldn't even stand them smell of it cooking. It took me about 6months after DD was born to be able to stomach it again.

mumof2aimingfor3 · 25/06/2015 14:31

Hi, just poas as my period was 7 days late. Totally unplanned baby number 4. Yes my screen name is a bit old! Dd1 10 years old, dd2 5 years old, ds 13 months ???? haven't got a clue how to tell DH.

Mirabal · 25/06/2015 14:38

thanks haquoi

feel little better right now but can feel it ramping up again. feel your pain peggy, clumsy and birdbrain

sorry its such a worrying time isla, hang in there

Mirabal · 25/06/2015 14:58

I've been having some funny pains that I didn't have last time, can anyone give me an idea of how much a private scan would cost? Also, how many weeks for it to not be transvaginal (I am a coward). Does anyone know a good place to go in North East London? TIA

haquoi123 · 25/06/2015 15:07

mirabel it's worth talking to your GP first, they might investigate or put your mind at ease

Bosabosa · 25/06/2015 15:12

mumod2aiming for 3- you are clearly an overachiever! Have no idea how you'll tell DH--I suggest when he is in a good mood (or asleep??!). Good luck!

Mirabel, I think around £160 in theLondon area-but that was transsvaginal (which really is nothing to worry about)--there may be cheaper if you shop around (mine was covered by health insurance).. What kind of pains are you getting?

Babybrain153 · 25/06/2015 15:16

Isla .. That's exactly what happened to me in February, found out at 11+1 that baby passed at 7+4.. All of my symptoms disappeared around that time too though so am kinda welcoming the nausea at moment

Babybrain153 · 25/06/2015 15:20

Mirabel I had one at 8+6 with my DD and that didn't need to be transvaginal x
