Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 30th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 48th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates: Stats

I totally agree pixie - your ds won't care if you have shower or not or have bounty pics. He will know he's loved Grin

Dulcet I know! It's freaky thinking next month we are having a baby!

I think with all food advice they give you the best practice and its up to you to make decisions. I've not eaten runny cheese but I have had blue Stilton

Nice pants tee! Your friend is lovely

teejayem · 09/06/2015 07:51

As far as I know dulce it's only if you're having a planned section that you're asked to leave off your nail varnish/shellac/acrylics, so your O2 can be monitored by checking your nail bed. However, I've heard various different things like what if it chips off and gets in the wound, or its a load of rubbish as there are far more advanced ways to get O2 readings now anyway. So I think I'm going to leave my toenails bare and keep my shellac hands - I've been having them done for years and years and I'm scared to see how thin they are underneath. tart. Mr tee has had to take the car this morning though so I don't know if I'm going to be able to get them done as planned, it's just a bit too far to walk.

Had double mercy shag last night. Mr tee pointed out that brown goo episode happened after the last one, so we had an early night Blush and went for it. Well as much as you can go for it at 40 weeks. lets see if anything happens! He's working the wrong side of London today as well AND has the car AND my dm is looking after dn, so there's some Los invoked.
I'm eating an apple turnover in bed. Classy bird, me. Bloody pastry flakes everywhere.

Gaaaa got first exam this afternoon, baby is very kicky this morning so hoping it's planning an afternoon of sleeping so I can concentrate! Then second exam tomorrow then all done - seems so far away still!! And I'm convinced I'm screwed, the one this afternoon is just horrible Sad Am going to treat myself to a little glass of wine tomorrow night Wine

ChatEnOeuf · 09/06/2015 08:25

I'm doing ok thanks Ga. Good days and bad days, takes me by surprise quite often. The sun is shining though and I'm out and about every day.

We've never had harmony, nifty or nhs downs screening as I wouldn't have an amnio or terminate for those reasons. Next time I have a tough call to make though as the same tests can be used to predict placenta function. I fear I'm going to want to know everything...

jellypi3 · 09/06/2015 08:32

Morning viroids. Did anyone see game of thrones last night! It must be hormones because I cried and I never ever cry at TV shows. Shocking. DP was pissing himself laughing.

la I can't believe your window's still not fixed! That's terrible! Has landlord given a time line?

tee gx the los gets invoked today! Come on baby tee!!!!!!

For anyone that's had internals, did you have a tidy up downstairs? I probably should it's starting to represent the Amazon but I've read certain hair removal creams are dangerous (I've never used waxed and don't like shaving).

I had a dream that's the scan went badly Friday, that there was no HB. No idea why I had the dream because I've got no reason so suspect anything is wrong but I think someone mentioned a blighted ovum on the feb Fred yesterday and that's got me nervous. So can I have a hooyah please!!!

I've decided all being well this week I'll tell my boss next week, we've got a few client events coming up and I'll need someone to be able to cover me when I'm not drinking my industry is packed full of alcoholics

Oh and I don't know if we will have downs test. My nan's cousins boy has downs, but his parents were both quite old when they had him. I'm 25 and DP is 24 so I assume our risk would be quite low. That being said, DMiL being the lovely person she is did tell me the other day "I had a couple in their early 20's have a down baby, total shock".....thanks for the reassurance Hmm

Oo sorry for epic long post!

Purpleball · 09/06/2015 09:12

Morning lovelies. Gx for the scan Jelly. We told a few people after ours.

La sounds like you've been mega busy, take it easy you're pregnant! Do you ever stop? Grin

Tee hope the LoS is the key SmileI'm sure mrTee will have time to get back if it does.

Chat, lovely to see you SmileI imagine they will keep a very close eye on you in future pregnancies

We're off to collect everything that's been donated by my brother at the weekend. I cleared 4 boxes of stuff out of the spare room on Sunday so we have room for the baby things now. My sil wants rid of as much as poss - can't blame her. There's not much newborn and 0-3 girls clothes as my niece was over 12lbs and went into 3-6!

Growth scan today, we're going to try find out the sex again. Hopefully babypurple will cooperate for once. I've had a word but it's not worked in the past Grin

gaggiagirl · 09/06/2015 09:22

bat GX for your exams. You will be fine!
chat glad to hear you're getting out and about. Although you will never forget, hopefully the good days will soon outweigh the bad days.
jelly is your scan this Friday? I've read all about GoT. Bloody shocking!

gaggiagirl · 09/06/2015 09:23

purple we need pictures please!

goodnessgraciousgouda · 09/06/2015 09:30

Morning everyone! Great news la on getting lots of baby stuff sorted out, and on the holiday possibility! I'll take the breast feeding scarf if it needs a new home!! Grin For the party, do you really need to give it a specific name?

Could it not just be "come around for prosecco and cake"? That might take off some of the pressure from the present front as well. Or you could ask for practical things - like meals that you could put in the freezer for when the baby has arrived. Or a box of nappies (if using disposable), or something like that.

Jelly sorry to hear about your dream. I think it's quite normal though. Especially if in real life it's not something that you are particularly worried or stressed over, your subconscious uses dreams to run through the the worst case scenarios. I've had at least three or four very vivid dreams where I miscarried before our first scan, and I'm hardly a festering ball of stress during the day!

batfish - Good luck with your exam today! At least today is the worst, so you can get it over and done with? I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I have a query viroids - when I went to bed last night I suddenly had some really bad stomach cramps, which lasted a long time. Not as bad as my period cramps (but only because those were the WORST), but it wasn't far off. They felt like stabby sort of cramps, pretty much exactly where my uterus is, and all around. Nothing on the sides (thank god). I had some cramping at the very beginning from about 4-6 weeks, but never anything even remotely as painful as this.

I'm not hugely worried because there has been no blood at all, but even now it still isn't totally comfortable. Does anyone have any advice? I guess it could have been REALLY bad gas, and really bad constipation, but I'm still a little concerned.

pretzelpieces · 09/06/2015 09:35

Gx for exams bat and scan jelly

purple I hope minipurple flashes at you this time. Wink

chat well done for getting out and about. You're doing so well.

I think my fever has broken and as far as I know tiny bean is still intact. Keeping everything crossed we've got through it with no serous effects.

gouda I'd get it checked out if I were you. My GP said severe pain OR bleeding. But hopefully it's just wind Wink

jellypi3 · 09/06/2015 09:44

ga scan is this friday, i'll be 6+6.

it was shocking, i couldn't believe what i was watching. felt like they crossed a line!

Cymraes17 · 09/06/2015 09:55

JCandy, we have a mix of stuff. Some smartipants pocket nappies, motherease stay dry, bambino mio solo and newborn shaped terry nappies. We use boosters at night and because Dd2 is a big wetter we use motherease airflow wraps on all nappies. Ive used the nappy lady, babykind and fill your pants to buy them. Fill your pants have a trial pack you can buy for £10 to begin with, and after a set time you either send them back or buy them.
Well clean sheets on the bed did nothing! Going to see mw in a bit.
Pixie and pretzel, Im sorry to hear of the horror of your past. Glad to see that you are strong women.
La, remember to have time to do nothing, slow down!
We have never had any tests for anything, we came to the conclusion that we would love each child no matter what, and would try our best to cope if something wasnt 'normal'. But we started young, and everyone should do what they feel is right for them. There is no right or wrong.

goodnessgraciousgouda · 09/06/2015 10:13

By the way, is it just me, or is anyone else actually quite nervous about telling their parents? (or was nervous beforehand)

I'm 31 for gods sake! And married!

I think I am worried that they will be all "how are you going to have a baby in that flat? It's too small/old/dangerous" or "how are you going to cope with a baby over there in Lyon with no-one to help" and that sort of thing.

Hobbit19 · 09/06/2015 10:21

Gouda I still get cramps at 12 + 3 so try not to worry. I think my uterus is moving up at the mo hence the cramps.

Fattycow · 09/06/2015 10:32

Steak: not for as long as I'm still pregnant. The same with carpaccio or any other raw meats. I just don't want to risk it.

Harmony test: not for us. They will only give you a risk percentage at first and then you still don't know anything for sure. I dislike the testing that comes after that if the results show an increased risk, as that can be dangerous for the baby.

Cramps: had them in the beginning due to stretching womb and later on a few sharp stabs which were ligaments stretching.

Dreams: I've had a few very weird ones! Our brains can do very odd things under the influence of pregnancy!

FeatheredTail · 09/06/2015 10:54

Gouda why don't you get it checked out just as a precaution? Hopefully it's just wind/constipation (prunes: prunes are the answer)!

Please no GoT spoilers Viroids! - I'm paranoid I'm going to stumble on what's happened between MN and FB! I know something big and awful has happened but I don't know what other than it's something to do with dragons! I don't have Sky and haven't read the books jealous of Jelly

Steak: I only ever have it seared on the outside/blue on the inside so to have it cooked medium or, god forbid, well done would be utterly pointless. Take away the red wine and I think I'd have a full on melt down/tantrum.

DH was making a cake on Sunday night and I hoovered up a spoon of raw mix before I could stop myself, totally forgetting the raw egg. As I understand it though, the advice on raw egg is due to the risk of salmonella/food poisoning - so not a risk to the baby per se. That's what I'm telling myself now anyway!

Sadly, my Dad died nearly ten years ago now, so won't be able to tell him. Makes me very sad. He was such a good Dad - he understood and loved children so much! My mum is going to be surprised I think.

Not sure when to tell family and close friends. Think I'm going to wait until 12 week scan so I can enjoy my holiday without getting texts from them saying things like "YOU BETTER NOT BE ON A MOTORBIKE! ARE YOU? ARE YOU ON A MOTORBIKE? HAVE YOU CHECKED THE FETA IS PASTURISED? I HOPE YOU REALISE GREEK COFFEE IS NOT ALLOWED. I HEARD THAT SWIMMING IN THE SEA IS VERY BAD FOR THE BABY" etc.

FeatheredTail · 09/06/2015 10:56
  • NB - to clarify, I won't be eating blue steaks whilst I'm pregnant. Would prefer you didn't all think I was bonkers enough to eat raw meat!
jellypi3 · 09/06/2015 11:14

no more GoT talk for you feathered! promise :)

gouda i had some terrible gas cramps yesterday, i couldn't stand up properly it was that painful. they went after a good fart though!

Hobbit19 · 09/06/2015 11:35

Speaking of farts my small cat had horrendous wind this morning. Just laid on my bed trumping away to herself. How rude!

Feathered, that is sad that you won't get to tell your Dad. I bet your Mum will be really pleased though. We told my parents and PIL at about 6 weeks and then a couple of close friends at 10 weeks, just couldn't hold it in any longer!

teejayem · 09/06/2015 11:37

I don't know if I'm slightly dead inside but I didn't find GoT that bad last night? I actually found the squashed-head-like-watermelon scene from the last season worse? checks pulse for functioning icy heart

My last due date friend is in labour. She's just text me to say how awful and painful it is and unprepared she was for contractions and how she's being made to wait at home. Horror stories right till the end...!
Oooh fx mini purple stops being so modest for this one purple!!

Mr tee keeps texting me to ask if his super jizz has started anything. It hasn't. I almost said he'd given me a dud batch but I think he'd be wildly offended. Grin It's fine, I've gone all nonchalant today, if tiny tee arrives it doesn't matter, I can't obsess about something I can't control! I'm still uncomfy, but I'm at the hospital tomorrow, and I've got cake and some ironing to do so can eat and keep busy. Must stop guzzling so much orange juice tho, it's giving me false cramps!

OP posts:
goodnessgraciousgouda · 09/06/2015 12:34

tee - Oh dear, granted your friend probably isn't in the best place right now, but it's not exactly helpful to text something like that to someone else who is heavily pregnant!!!

What can you do to prepare for contractions anyway? It's like learning about the concept of ice cream without ever having eaten it! Glad to hear that you are feeling all chillaxed today despite all this!

jelly - yes, I do think it may have been gas cramps. Since there's been no spotting or bleeding I will hold off from the doctors. I just can't afford to go for additional appointments unless there is a really very compelling reason.

goodnessgraciousgouda · 09/06/2015 13:09

and oh my god, but can I ask another really really stupid question, as it's doing my NUT in!!!

So if I am 9 weeks and 3 days, when I look at websites that give pregnancy updates, should I be looking at week NINE or at week TEN?

I know that I am IN my tenth week of pregnancy, but not sure how the standard websites work it out. Either I've been reading the right ones (so this week I would be reading the update for week nine), or I've been living in the past!

Hobbit19 · 09/06/2015 13:17

Ooh don't know the answer to that one Gouda, as I am 12+3 I have been looking at 12 weeks...

In preparation for contractions... Okay, so I KNOW that this is not the same, but I did read about practising your hypnobirthing techniques whilst holding an ice cube - building up the time you can hold on to it for/reducing the breaks between 'contractions' etc. Sounded like a good idea to me. totally underestimates the pain of labour Grin

gaggiagirl · 09/06/2015 13:25

Depend on the website really. But find one that says 9 weeks pregnant as opposed to week 9 of pregnancy....cos that's the past.

Lookingforadvice123 · 09/06/2015 13:34

Thanks to everyone for replying with experiences on harmony or not.

fleur same experience with NHS scan, had two early ones when I was 8+ weeks (due to spotting) - the private one was just amazing and the lady was so lovely, said everything looked great etc, at that point I thought I was miscarrying so I cried! A few days later went to the one at LPAU booked by my gp, the sonographer didn't say anything when she started scanning literally for about a minute, I had to ask "is everything ok", her answer was "I think so, at 8 weeks it's so small it's hard to tell", I mean wtf! She barely said anything and I'm so glad we'd had the private one beforehand otherwise I would've shat myself when she didn't speak. So I'm fully expecting my 12 week scan in 16 days (counting, me? No!) to be just as underwhelming.

bat good luck! Hope the exam went well!

I think an informal baby shower is the only way, and make sure those non-pregnant have plenty to drink so it's more fun Wink

I was nervous about telling my parents even though I knew they'd be excited, and I'm 27 and have been married for over a year!
