Morning all, Am very surprised I'm the first around this morning. Re. krispy kreme doughnuts, the 3 Tesco's nearest us have been selling them for quite a few months now. I don't see the attraction in them myself - thank goodness, I have enough extra weight as it it

OP posts:

It is true FSF that its non identical twins that are hereditory and carried on the maternal side but ive heard of quite a few cases of identical twins running in families too. It could be special egg splitting quality (?) the sperm carry??! Who knows, big coincidence though eh!

Frenchsmallfry · 18/11/2006 21:36

Yes big coincidence lg&t. I wouldn't have minded twins actually. We want one more after this one but want to wait a few years for our last!! Will be just my luck we end up with twins then, oh well 5 can't be too different to 4. Although part of me says that if it was that hereditry then we wouldn't have got away with it for this long.

Frenchsmallfry · 18/11/2006 21:46

Oh and good idea about the appointment!! Well it would be if mum wasn't the only one in the house that speaks fluent French and therefore she would know it was rubbish as she would have to read the letter to tell me what it said. dammmmnnnnn language.

I'm sure it will be OK, I think I'll tell her I'm meeting a friend to do some shopping and going straight from school drop off. Which I never do normally as I come home and go back to bed. Hopefully she'll just think I'm feeling better and being a little more organised.
She is having a small pty on Saturday which she knows about so hopefully I'll get away with saying I need to get things for that. She's going to be 60 She'd kill me for telling you that, good job she won't know.

pebblemum · 18/11/2006 22:38

LG&T would love to help you with ideas for your dh for christmas but I dont even know what im getting mine yet. Normally ive got all his by this time of year but im stuck at the moment. I did get him a new golf club hes been after but hes already had that i wasnt in when it arrived so he opened it. Men are so awkward to buy for.

I have got a horrible runny nose, i hope you havent passed your germs on to me

Poor Dh must be getting old. It was a friends birthday today and they were all going to the pub then on to bowling. They all met up at about 3.30, Dh was home by 6.30 lol. He had obviously had a few and couldnt keep up with the others which is equally funny as the birthday boy is 60 and dh is one of the youngest that was going out with him. He ended up passing out on the front room floor with ds2 bundling him then he woke up an hour ago said he had a headache (could be where ds2 accidently kicked him in it lol)and staggered off to bed. At least i have got to watch casualty and im a celeb without him moaning

largeginandtonic · 19/11/2006 09:00

LOL at your Dh pebble! At least he came in early stumbling and didnt wake you up, its when they come in at 2.30 and wake you up ringing the bell cos they cant get their key in the door. Thats when you really wnt to do some damage.

I love typing the name pebble, may call the baby it....there was one in flintstones....she was cute. Course mine will be a boy so more likely to call it Bam Bam, not so sure about that one

I have to put away a stack of washing taller than me, go shopping with all 5 kids and dismantle my wooden slatty bed (my new one comes tomorrow) I would also like a shower and to wash my hair, not a chance i fear. Anyone free to help me today or have i passed on my bug to you all? Actually if you are ill it's FSF fault she has been ill all week! Sorry FSF

largeginandtonic · 19/11/2006 17:15

Where is everyone today?

Ive dismantled the bed and cleaned up, got to the shops too late it had shut. Made a yummy lemon and chicken rissoto for lunch and now the dc are on crap for tea as didnt get to the shop. Still have massive pile of clothes to put away, pants.....!

Its freezing cold and im suddenly very tired, still have to feed them all and scrub in the bath. Wish Dh was home, i need a rest. Still at least i have massive woolies pick and mix to munch tonight when they are all in bed, if im not in bed too that is.

katybumps · 19/11/2006 17:19

crikey you have been busy ! just logged on been finishing my course but its all done now yay how is everyone feeling?

aprilmeadow · 19/11/2006 17:58

Hi ladies

Congrats on your scans Ginger, Creena and Juicylucy.

SkyTV - I would definately want to know, if nothing else but to give us time to get used to it and stop me worrying about it for the next 5mths.

Just come back from a HEN weekend in Brigton! Watching all your mates (16 of them) getting wasted 2 nights in a row was fun. Have some great pictures! Totally knackered though. Went to bed at 12.45am on friday night and 2.55am last night! I was hte first to bed by about 2 hours each night. Although on the up side, think that the ms may have gone!!

lupins71 · 19/11/2006 18:52

LGT You have been busy, hope you enjoy your pick and mix - I have had pretty hectic day, took dog and dd to park for hours walk, it was beautiful, then came home got dd some food, got dp up, walked 30 mins to take dd riding, half hour walking round riding school, half hour walk back, rest for an hour, have bath, attemot to tidy up cook dinner, friend popped in, now cooking homemade rice pudding for supper, feel like collapsing, got stinking headache, have dosed it with codiene, and still have to tidy up dd's mess grrrr

Sky tv, sorry your results werent reasurring, hugs to you xx

Aprilmeadow - omg havent stayed up that late for aaaaagggges, struggle to make 11pm lo, and I am hoping like you the ms is dying off a bit, have heard headaches are a bane od 2nd trimester and have had one for 2 days now - still at least you can take stuff for that unlike the ms, hope you continue to feel better

Had a nice day yesterday, was a bit tearful Friday night and Yesterday morning, but had a lovely day shopping with friend and the most loveliest pasta mmmmmmm it was yum, couldnt face going out in the evening just wanted to stay with dp and dd, we had pizza and relaxed it was nice, So I have made it through another aniversary quite well, thanks for your kind messages

Am off to make myself fat on double cream rice pud and watch some tv, have a good evening

Lisa x

Frenchsmallfry · 19/11/2006 19:33

Evening all....................

Sorry lg&t for leaving you lonly, I'm normally always around thinking the same as you, "where is everyone today"

Had an invite to "tea" at a friends this afternoon. It was very hectic as there was about 40 people there, but a nice croud and some close friends so all in all it was a fun afternoon, If you can stop the children bickering!!!! Grrrrr
I'm not normally a drinker but I couldn't stop thinking about the wine, I would have loved to have got stuck into that today. I didn't even have one glass though as for me if I'm going to have a drink I need to do it properly. IYKWIM. I only ever feel like getting drunk when I'm pg.

Sounds like the Hen weekend was fun aprilmeadow, you did well I would never have lasted that late in the evenings.

lg&t, Hope you are enjoying your pic and mix. have you got any cola bottles? I LOVE them!!

aprilmeadow · 19/11/2006 20:51

i am really surprised that i managed tbh!

So tired that i want to go to bed, but torn as Lost returns tonight on Sky one and doesnt start til 10 and is a double bill!

jessinwa · 20/11/2006 04:22

aprilmeadow, i am so jealous of your hens weekend. my friends and i need to figure out a way to all get together before i move. the big problem is that we live really far away from eachother and all of our parents have moved as well. no more "home for the holidays" because "home" is in a different place for each of us. we had considered a meet up in mexico but it doesn't look like that is going to happen. now it looks like we will go to ny instead. it will be fun but a different kind of trip. we are the only ones with a kid so i feel like we are the lame ones.
lisa, your day sounds great. lots of fresh air and activities and now some great food to settle down with. perfect. but i am sure you are ready to say hello to mr pillow.
frenchsmallfry, good luck with the birthday celebration planning. it sounds like it is going to be a grand time.

largeginandtonic · 20/11/2006 08:07

Couldnt stay awake for lost anyone know when its on again? Pick n mix was yum thanx, didnt eat it all so have some for today, yay!

Kids are at table (suposed) to be eating brekkie but all i can hear are rounds of screaming (dd), shut-ups (ds#3) and a very annoying humming a happy tune from dt1. Hugs is in my bed snoozing still cos he was up wandering the house shouting 'mum' at 4 this morning. I was so tired i let him in my bed (mattress on the floor) and proceeded to get poked and prodded and sung to, balamory i think, until he crashed at 6. I had to get up at 7

This could be a bad day.....but at least i get my new bed hoooooray!

FSF i read your post on the downs syndrome thread yesterday, did you realise you cut them all dead Hows the birthday celebration planning going? Need anything sending over that your mum really misses? Would be happy to help. I may ask for cheese in return, the listeria packed variety obviously

The hen weekend sounds so fab, you did very well to stay up i would have flaked waaaay before.

Talk later, Hugs is up.....

Frenchsmallfry · 20/11/2006 09:30

Thanks jess, I'm sure it will be a good weekend. Need to find a recipie on the net for eggs benedict, it's mums favourite brekkie so thought I'd do it for everyone on Sunday morning.

I think we are OK to be honest lg&t, mum and dad have just spent a month in England visiting my bro. Thank you for your offer of help, and I am very happy to get you some cheese if you want me to.

I know, not sure if it was a good idea to post like that on the down syndrome post but it really wound me up and I couldn't help it. Must be a hormonal thing, wouldn't have got involved normally.

lg&t hope your new bed arrives ok. I will be joining you on the not such a good day. dd has a bug!!! was up from 2am - 4am throwing up, so I now have a very tired grumpy little girl to deal with and a very grumpy tired mummy. Think we might both go back to bed in a bit.

pebblemum · 20/11/2006 09:55

FSF poor you, i hate it when mine are ill. Hope your dd is feeling better soon and you both get plenty of rest.

LG&T werent you a busy bee yesterday, putting us all to shame again, i had quite a lazy day, went to IL's for Sunday Lunch then came home, made lots of soda stream drinks just for the sake of it (dh's idea, hes like a big kid) then relaxed before making pancakes for tea! Oh and dh bought me breakfast in bed yesterday Its so rare he does it. I think its because i had told him how wonderful everyone elses dh/p's were on here, sending love messages, cooking tea etc and he felt ashamed. It could also be due to the fact that he had woke me up at 5am because he was awake and wanted to chat After an hour he finally took the hint and left me alone before waking me up at 8 with brekkie

largeginandtonic · 20/11/2006 10:18

Poor you FSF having sick dd, i hate watching them be sick when they are little, they just look so helpless. Hope you manage to go back to bed for a bit.

I may take you up on the cheese, am struggling with what to get dh for xmas, he loves that really stinky blue cheese (yuk)

Pebble you did have a lovely day, we could create a fictional thread about lovely things our Dh have done and you could show it to him, see how much you can get hime to do

I love eggs benedict, i have a jar of hollandaise in my fridge, may have some for elevenses.

OOOH bed people just phoned, they are coming at 2.30. Oh bugger Hugs just bought me in a prit stick with a pencil shoved down it....

Juicylucythe2nd · 20/11/2006 10:32

Hi Girls,

Told my family this weekend, which was lovely and sad at the same time. Got a bit teary when I told my sister (she lost her 19yr old son 2 months ago). I know she's really happy for me, but it's still all really hard for her. Felt happy and sad at the same time.

SkyTV - I get my triple test results by phone this afternoon, so could be in the same boat as you. I think it will depend on the odds as to whether I have the amnio. My logic says if they're greater than 1 in 100, then why risk a miscarriage, but don't know if I will stick to logic in making this decision. I think it's a tough one. Know what you mean about the threads regarding risks of babys with downs though. Absolute Minefield.

Hope you all had a nice weekend.

Creena · 20/11/2006 10:47

Hey there everyone - hope you all ahd great weekends.

Can I ask a question, please? Has anyone started to use any oils or creams with the specific intention of preventing/easing stretch marks? It's just that I've been using the Mum To Be Body Oil from The Sanctuary range at Boots. When I first apply it, it feels and smells fine but after half an hour or so, I start to smell like a deep fat fryer. Honestly - it's like I've been doing nothing but stand over a vat of boiling fat for a week. Needless to say, it hasn't done my morning sickness any good whatsoever. So, can anyone recommend an oil or cream that does the job but doesn't stink??

Juicylucythe2nd · 20/11/2006 11:20

Read on the pg threads Emelis camelia oil (expensive), but also Bio Oil (from Ebay) and I think there's even a thread with a recipe (if you can be bothered)!

Creena · 20/11/2006 12:54

Cheers JL, will have a butcher's!

largeginandtonic · 20/11/2006 14:42

I use the mama mio mum to be oil, it smells divine!

My bed is here yipeeeeee! Course now i have to make it, its flat pack

scootermum · 20/11/2006 15:26

Hi all,
Creena-I use some clarins stretch mark oil-it didnt work the first time and im sure it wont work this time but I dare not not use it as what if they are even worse without it?!My belly looks like a road map as it is.Gross.It smells nice though...(The oil that is).
Largegandt-dress in post today-have emailed you on your other address as well..Had written a note to put in the envelope but left it on my desk so please dont think me rude when they arrive with no explanation in the envelope-Ive sent you two because the first one looked huge to me when I got it out and I had another which might work-anyway you'll have to give them a go and hope for the best..O bum, will have to email you my address for returning..Forgot..
Also no Krispy Kremes either, for which I do apologise profusely-just didnt have time to stop this morning on my way in as was quite late.DD teething now and so up all night, hence when we finally did get some sleep I woke up late.Poor DH is revising like mad for his exams this week as well and is finding it very hard-I dont think he can possibly pass these what with all thats gone on.And that will send him into a spiral of self loathing-even though it doesnt really matter-he just puts himself under too much pressure..Anyway im keeping everything crossed..
SKYTV.I would go for the extra tests too.I used to work with people with Downs and their families and many of the Mothers described the shock when the baby was first born and the period of 'grieving' for the baby they thought they were going to get.I think it would be better to prepare yourself before hand if you could.Plus I must say some of the people I worked with with Downs had more joy in their lives than anyone else I've ever met and their capactiy to love and be happy was unrivalled.Ok they will never be brain surgeons-but neither will I.Anyway we are jumping the gun becuase if you look at it the odds are still against having a baby with Downs..Although I appreciate it must be a worry.Do come on here if you want to talk about it.I read that other thread too and it made me seethe! And dont be afraid to be honest either. You need to say what you feel.Thinking of you anyway..

Cravings;Haribo sour mix/tangfastic jelly sweets.Ate a packet on the way to work.Lovely.Also helped me deal with my unslakeable thirst which nothing else will.

How is the new house Twelveyeargap?Hope you have settled in ok..
Hope everyone else is well today and that you havent got too wet in the nasty weather.(American ladies I think its rained, is raining or will rain heavily just about everywhere in Britain today-it sucks! Is it snowing in New Jersey?Does it snow there? For some reason I picture it as being cold there..)

largeginandtonic · 20/11/2006 16:04

Thank you scooter for sending not one but two dresses.....please, please let one be ok.

I love those tangfastic sweets too, they are so yum. If you want to find out the sex of your baby at your 20 week scan then eat lots of fizzy sweets like those and the baby goes mental so they can see its bits!

Sorry you are not getting too much sleep at the moment, it is so hard when all you want to do is collapse in to bed.

Frenchsmallfry · 20/11/2006 16:33

Raining here too today. Miserable!!!!!

Just lit the fire to try to cheer us up. dd still ill so not a nice day all round. Bless her, Did manage to get two hours sleep when I put her back to bed at 11 this morning so that was nice. dh no doubt will be fed up, when he eventually gets home. The boys he is working with are very behind on a job, so he staying late to help them out. After being up half of last night he will not be a happy bunny this evening. Maybe I'll do the to bed chores and give him an evening off, groan!!!!

MKG · 20/11/2006 16:50

Hey everyone!!

I'm exhausted. I've been spending the past few days helping my mom put her house back together. She had her carpets ripped out, and hard wood floors put in. The house looks beatiful, but it's been such a pain moving furniture, and cleaning for the past three days. We need to have the house spotless by the time that my sister comes on Wednesday. My sister is one of those "everything in it's place people" and my mom and I are more "As long as I don 't trip on stuff, the house is clean"

I can't believe it's Thanksgiving on Thursday. I love it!! I love Thanksgiving more than Christmas. I hate Turkey, but everything else is wonderful. The UKer's don't know what they're missing.

We've been trying to decide what to do with Christmas but my mo doesn't want to do anything. On Dec. 21 it will be 2 years since my dad died, so Christmas hasn't been the same, and since my sister is so far away and won't be coming, it's doubly weird. She says she going to go to the movies.

Anyway I'm rambling, and have to reserve energy for going back later.
