Morning all, Am very surprised I'm the first around this morning. Re. krispy kreme doughnuts, the 3 Tesco's nearest us have been selling them for quite a few months now. I don't see the attraction in them myself - thank goodness, I have enough extra weight as it it

Hi all

Been xmas shopping all day with DP so feeling very tired but at least have the majority of the DDs pressies.

Thanks for your positive posts on my test results. Good luck with your results JL. I was of the same opinion that if it was less than 1 in 100 then I wouldn't go for the amnio but still not sure now. One day I am and the next I am not. I have booked Thursday and Friday off work just in case and will go for the appointment with an open mind.

FSF - I'm just off to try and find the downs thread you posted on I'm nosy like that!

after having read this post i feel that i must warn you that i am a complainer today. consider yourselves warned.

hello all. so many new beds to read about. i am trying to convince dh that getting a new bed once we get to australia is better than bringing the old one. it is five years old and not that nice anyway. i would love a temperpedic (do you have those there?).
i need to go to the chiropractor this afternoon. my shoulder is achy again. boo. last time he was able to "fix" me in one crack. i love that man.
today i must pack up for our trip to ohio for thanksgiving. unlike mkg, i do not particularly enjoy thanksgiving. it is ok, but i have never been all that excited about sleeping on the floor or on an air mattress and taking cold showers because all the hot water is used up in the house we are visiting. i wish my family would just let us go to a hotel but they insist that there is enough room. i just found out last night that max, dh and i are sleeping in the living room and have to pack up all of our bed linens, beds, clothes, bags, etc each morning. yuck. i feel that nagging feeling in the back of my throat that is telling me that i am getting a cold and, as i mentioned, my shoulder is effed up. sleeping on an air mattress is going to be not so fun. complain, complain, complain. not really the "thanksgiving" mood.
i get my quad-screen results back today (same as your triple-test, i think). also get my thyroid results. i am excited to get them so that i can move on. i'm tempted to go read that downs thread so that i can see a hormonal fsf in action. think i might track it down when i am done here.
the sun is out again today. so nice. it rained a lot this weekend. munch and i are going to take otis for a walk before the sun goes away again. otis is our sausage dog, the best dog ever.
hope you all have a great evening.

I just got off the phone with my sil, and the craziest thing happened.

On Saturday my 11 mo. nephew fell down a flight of steps (about 20). My sil and bil were getting ready to go out. They took down the gate, and my sil went to the bathroom. She told my bil to watch the ds because he is very much on the move. He said "I'm watching him" one minute later she heard him screaming, ran out of the bathroom and saw her ds at the bottom of the stairs. She rushed him to the emergency room, and luckily nothing happened.

Here's what pisses me off. My sil screamed at my bil because he never takes responsibility for ds (doesn't even know how to make a bottle, and has never changed a diaper) for the one minute he has a job he can't even watch him. My bil called his brothers and sisters saying that he felt so guilty and my sil was yelling at him. They all called and said that she shouldn't be angry with him, and that in a year or two this will all be very funny. Everyone is telling her that this is no big deal, and that she shouldn't have taken him to the hospital to get checked out. I feel so bad for her because she is too polite to tell them off (not like me who would rip them all a new one). Everyone seems to think this is funny except for me and her. It's so sad because all of her family is in Brazil, and the only people she has are her inlaws who always makes her out to be an overprotective bitch.

Sorry to go on, but sometimes I just don't get people.

mkg, your poor sil. of course she was right taking her child to the emergency room. he fell down a flight of stairs, ffs. it is pointless and stupid to be critical of a parent for being too cautious. especially with a child as young as your nephew. tell your sil that jessinwa is on her side. i think she will feel much better knowing that a complete stranger on the other side of the country thinks she is a good mama.
i won't be able to get on the computer until i get home on sunday. i anticipate having to spend about ten hours to catch up with your chatting. kind of looking forward to it, actually. have a good week and happy thanksgiving.

MKG · 21/11/2006 01:12

Happy Thanksgiving to you. I'm past the I hate staying with family stage. I live 5 minutes from my mom and it is always at her house. So for me it is roll out of bed, eat good food and go home. Thanksgiving is great, and even though getting together is a hassle, I'm sure you will enjoy yourself.
