Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 29th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 47th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates: stats

Congrats Mr La! :)

Sorry for your DH bat that's terrible :( hope he gets a new job soon.

tee that thunderstorm was crazy! Kept me awake all night!

batfish · 05/06/2015 07:18

Well they are saying he was not performing which is rubbish - so not redundancy. We do get an end of service benefit here and if your company ends your contract then you get more than if you do so it's worked out better for him than if he walked out. But that is included in the 2 months salary - so he got 1 month plus the end of service payment plus payment for leave he hasn't taken yet. Hopefully he will find something else before long, he is actually already waiting to see whether he has a second interview for a job he was interviewing for as he didn't think he was going to be able to stick it out much longer. So fingers crossed for that. And we are OK for money. I just feel bad because it is a pride thing and they've treated him like crap and he doesn't deserve it. He seems to be swinging between feeling positive and feeling really pissed off. But he is v happy he doesn't have to go in and deal with their shit anymore so that's a good thing.

DulcetMoans · 05/06/2015 07:27

Great news la! Celebrating this weekend??

What a shocker for him bat! Although sounds like could be for the best. Is it immediate so he doesn't have to go in today? Does he want to stay out there or could it be a reason to come home?

Have you spoken to midwife about the goo tee? Just wondered what they said it was. It's another day though so maybe today is the day!

Anything before or cym? It's a daily question now, sorry!!

Midwife today here as well. Going to try and remember to ask her about the breathlessness and the position. Everyone in the July group seems to know what way round the baby is but my midwife never says!

batfish · 05/06/2015 07:42

Yep immediate so he doesn't have to go in anymore so that's definitely a good thing - he says in one way he feels that a massive weight has been lifted because they were just grinding him down. We will stay here, we are really settled and I am happy in my job and we have just renewed our contract on where we live for another year. He is lucky really as we moved here in 2009 and soooo many friends were made redundant as it was the recession and he has had a job the whole way through - so at least now things have picked up he is more likely to find something else quickly than he would have been back then. He is mostly just pissed off that they did it instead of him walking out but it has worked out much better money wise and they have said they will give him a great reference (which is why the under performing thing is bollocks) so at least he is leaving on good-ish terms from their point of view

batfish · 05/06/2015 07:46

Anyway sorry for all the me me me! Hope you all have a good day and have fun plans for the weekend!

goodnessgraciousgouda · 05/06/2015 07:59

Looking - As far as I remember, unless you have multiples, and provided you were in the normal BMI range to begin with, then you only need additional calories in the last trimester. Up until then it's the same as your normal weight maintenance intake. You would need to work out your BMR in order to know what that is - you can find calculators online.

Personally I wouldn't do a spin class when pregnant, but then again I haven't done one in years, so that might be more down to my level of fitness. But if I remember, aren't spin classes basically hiit workouts? That sounds a bit much. Then again, if you were doing loads of spin classes before pregnancy then why not (but remember you're not supposed to get too hot!!) It seems a bit lame when you are used to really intense stuff, but low impact classes like zumba or whatever are really good as well.

The first trimester is complete shit. I think most people can agree on that. As long as you are staying active, you can always eat better in the second trimester when you are feeling less like total wank.

Don't forget as well that if you're constipated then that is going to be reflected on the scales too! I've gone from just under 59kg to just under 60kg, but since I haven't been able to go to the loo properly for the last SIX WEEKS, I'm pretty sure at least half of that is...not baby weight.

Pisghetti · 05/06/2015 08:02

To be honest Bat it sounds like a blessing in disguise. That's not to say he shouldn't feel pissed off - anyone would be - but he can now devote himself full time to finding something better whereas it might otherwise have taken ages and from what you say it has worked out better financially than him leaving of his own accord. Hopefully he'll find something soon that he enjoys more (and there's not much worse in life than being in a job you hate).

Hope your midwife is keen to have a go Tee. Mine wouldn't touch me until 41 weeks even though I nearly cried at her. I'm not even sure if that is trust policy - another midwife had told me I could get a sweep at my first appointment after due date. On the March group everyone seemed to be having them from 38 weeks onwards.

goodnessgraciousgouda · 05/06/2015 08:05

Bat - if they are letting him go on performance grounds, and that is patently bullshit, could he not take them to the employment tribunal for unfair dismissal? Did they actually provide any evidence?

PixieChops · 05/06/2015 08:06

Sorry about Mr Bat but it sounds like it's definitely for the best for all of you! Sounds to me that his pride has just been dented a bit as he didn't get to do it first. Sure he'll find something else soon Smile everything happens for a reason and once a door closes another opens.

Congratulations to Mr La! Fx he's not too hungover this morning haha

We are waiting for Mr Chops to be paid from a job that he finished yesterday. He's £45 overdrawn and I have 7p in my account so let's hope he's paid soon Confused It's a lovely day today and he's off so would've been nice to have done something together as a family but doesn't look likely if he's not paid. So crap working for yourself and having to wait for clients to cough up!
We've got about £4 in change so we'll need to get DD some full fat milk with that, luckily we have food in the house!

Fx it's the nice midwife Tee so you'll get a sweep done. Things usually get moving along pretty quick after a sweep. It's not very comfortable but being pregnant for another week sounds worse lol.

Before and Cym any news? I know it's so irritating being asked every day but hopefully things are moving in the right direction for you guys x

jellypi3 · 05/06/2015 08:24

I'm really struggling with excercise. I'm going to start swimming when I'm less tired in the evenings, but my form of excercise before was football which I was told to stop because it's a contact sport.

Purpleball · 05/06/2015 08:32

I've not done well with exercise at all since being pregnant. I felt sick and had no energy for the first 15 weeks. Since then I've not found time which is rubbish. I do have a maternity tankini so I could swim

Bugger about Mr Bats job. Sounds like a blessing in disguise to me. Gx he gets another soon Smile

Congrats Mr La, that's amazing Smile

Hope we get some JS babies this weekend Smile

I'm off to birdland for a day out with work don't ask

pretzelpieces · 05/06/2015 08:51

la well done mr la!

bat sorry to hear about Mr bat's job. Like others have said though, does sound like he will be happier elsewhere.

gouda we need a [poo emoji] Grin

Have fun at birdland purple!

I've got training with work today so I'm going to be stuck in a stuffy room till lunch trying not to puke! Grin oh and public speaking - hoping words come out and not anything else. Shock

Fattycow · 05/06/2015 09:01

Exercise is non existent here as well. In first trimester I was just too tired. In the second one, spd started to ail me. And now I'm the size of a whale! I can only walk for short distances. The same with my bike. I did buy a swimming card a few weeks ago, but my skin has started to split due to swelling, so that isn't an option either...

Fattycow · 05/06/2015 09:03

I've added two options to the stats sheet, I hope you ladies don't mind!

FeatheredTail · 05/06/2015 09:32

I've been keeping up with a weekly body pump class, but keeping my weights pretty low. I'm usually a runner but haven't even been for a jog since getting my BFP! - a combination of exhaustion and fear that I will, er, somehow bounce my little zygote out my fanj. Logical. Totally logical eh? I promise I passed GCSE biology Grin

I haven't had even a smidge of nausea or morning sickness - so combo of no running and continued enjoyment of alllll food means a couple of pounds have crept on. I'm 5'2" so basically looks like I've gained a stone. And I'm going on bloody hols in a couple of weeks! Argh! Beach cover ups are going to be my best friend I think. At this stage before a hol I'm usually on the Atkins diet and at the gym 5 times a week.

It's actually kind of refreshing not giving too much of a shit.

NFMV: it got some last night. At 6+4 DH was allowed access - gentle access! Actually felt lovely to get some - it's been over a month since our conception shag!

Anyway, enough about me.

Any babies yet viroids?

Jelly I hope you didn't take the second pregnacare tablet - my bum gave an involuntary flinch when I read that. I am still suffering the ill effects of those bastards constipating me. Now on the highest ever fibre diet!

bat sounds like mr bat has dodged a bullet. At least he gets some ££ and won't have to face the evil boss anymore.

pixe your finances sound a lot like mine right now!

batfish · 05/06/2015 10:01

Thanks for all the nice words about mr bat's job situation! He has gone off for a nice boozy lunch with friends (it is our weekend today - although life is one permanent weekend now for him) while I am stuck at home studying for these shitty exams I've got next week and am definitely going to fail Sad

I have been absolutely crap with exercise ie I have done none. I hate it at the best of times so have jumped at the opportunity to not do any. Don't really know what to do - it's 40 degrees outside so can't go walking and anything else just seems far too much effort right now! My friend gave birth in Feb and has started seeing a personal trainer to get back into shape and she said to her that she should have got in touch during pregnancy! I was a bit horrified at the thought of involving a personal trainer right now, I have too much eating to do rather than spend time doing squats!

batfish · 05/06/2015 10:02

Woohoo for the shag feather well done! Glad you enjoyed it Smile

Fleurchamp · 05/06/2015 10:12

Morning all

TFI Friday.

Sorry to hear about mrbat you do sound calm! I would be freaking out! Not that we would starve if mr champ lost his job but I like knowing he will be earning while I am on mat leave. Hope he finds something soon.

I still have no telephone or broadband at home. BT are arses. I have a 5 hour slot this afternoon (I also had one in Tuesday which DH took the afternoon off for but no one showed up). I neeeed the internet for mnetting and buying baby stuff online!!! It also means I cannot work from home and so am stuck coming in to the office.

I have been going swimming a couple of times a week, nothing strenuous - a few lengths but just being in the water feels good.

At the last weigh in I had put on about 25lbs but it's pretty much all bump (and saddle bags) which makes me feel so heavy as it's all concentrated out front. Turning over in bed is a major undertaking.

We have an NCT class tomorrow. Positions. Eeek!

goodnessgraciousgouda · 05/06/2015 10:21

batfish I can understand people feeling too shit to exercise in the first trimester, but I've been lucky enough to have pretty mild MS.

I actually feel so much better after doing a bit of exercise as well. It really helps with de bloating which is a massive relief, and it makes me much happier with much more energy for a few hours afterwards. Then I just want to sleep again Grin

Then again considering my daily diet has seen a very rapid decline of vegetables and a massive incline in pastries and fatty junk, it's probably also at least in part an attempt to feel like I am making at least some vague form of effort! Because right now, there ain't no way I can switch my breakfast pastry to some healthy cereal shit.

goodnessgraciousgouda · 05/06/2015 10:23

fleur good luck with your NCT class tomorrow (I just realised I have no clue what that actually stands for). By positions....I assume you mean.....birthing positions??

Fleurchamp · 05/06/2015 10:44

I hope to god gouda it is. We have a leaflet. It's going to be interesting Hmm

batfish · 05/06/2015 10:53

Well done gouda I'm not even in my first trimester and not feeling shitty or tired or anything, I'm just lazy Smile

Haha maybe I should be freaking out fleur! Just hoping it's fine as he has equivalent of 2 months salary and if he hadn't found anything by then then we have savings but hopefully it won't come to that. We can't manage on my salary alone but I won't start worrying until we get a bit further down the line - but hoping he will have something else by then.

Cymraes17 · 05/06/2015 11:53

Well done Mr La! Hope he's not celebrating to hard!
Bat, DH lost his job before DD1 was due,but he found something that he enjoyed just before she came.
Had a crap nights sleep last night, it hurt every time i turned, I was too hot, DD2 came to our bed, so I went to hers. I thought that I had some pains at the bottom of my belly during the night, but its all gone this morning....
Grrr!
Not allowed a sweep untill im due. 8 days to go..............

rm00054 · 05/06/2015 12:13

Well done MrLa you must be so proud La

In terms of weight gain, I was really sick in 1st trimester and ended up losing half a stone. What do I count my total pregnancy weight gain from, my pre-preg weight or from the lowest weight? I've put on LOADS (mostly on my chins and butt)! I've never really liked sweet foods before but I've scoffed so much cake, ice cream, biscuits and pastries that I'm worried I'm gonna have trouble losing the weight post birth Sad

My wisdom teeth are coming through again, it's agony Sad I've got a dentist appointment next week (not that they'll be able to do anything), does anyone know if pregnant ladies automatically get free nhs dental treatment, or is there a form we have to fill in before that can happen? I really don't want to assume it'll be ok then get handed a surprise bill!

WilHarlot · 05/06/2015 12:35

You get free dental work until baby is 1. You don't have to fill in anything up here - some kind of certificate came in the mail I was supposed to show but they just looked at the bump and believed me. May be different down south though.
