Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 29th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 47th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates: stats

is it normal to feel really dizzy? im sitting in work and the world is sort of spinning Confused

WilHarlot · 27/05/2015 15:02

I used:

phone and ipad and chargers
big pants
maternity pads
basic toiletries - shower gel, shampoo, deodorant, toothbrush/paste
hairbrush
Feeding bras
Change of clothes
pyjamas
slippers
hat and outfits for baby

Wish I'd had:
Proper camera
earplugs
eye mask

Didn't use:
make-up
breast pads (because milk not in)
nightie to give birth in

WilHarlot · 27/05/2015 15:06

Probably just low blood pressure Jelly which can be normal. If you're concerned though, call the gp - as I don't imagine you have midwife access yet?

jellypi3 · 27/05/2015 15:07

no i only just got a call from the midwife yesterday wil, i'll give them a call if it's still like it later. i'm just so sleepy! need coffee!!

Pisghetti · 27/05/2015 15:16

I also didn't use make up (despite best intentions) or breast pads. Well I didn't use much at all but I was only in hospital for a very short time. I used the plastic jug (to pour warm water over bits when having a wee).

Pud I didn't do any 'coached' pushing - it just happened. I didn't realise it was happening at first (thought it was just immense pressure with each contraction) hence how she almost appeared before we all realised what was going on....

MrPis was great at keeping me hydrated. To the point where he started to piss me off. To be fair to him though he was great Smile

Hobbit19 · 27/05/2015 15:32

Jelly, yes I think that is normal but I also think that perhaps you should not be at work my dear. I fell over and caught myself on the white board last week in front of Year 11... had to sit down and eat a biscuit before I carried on. I have had to tell the kids that I am doing loads of running training and that is why I have to keep eating. (Ironic considering I have barely moved since bfp) To be fair I should not have been at work last week but it was too busy to be off (bad pud). This week is half term and I have been asleep for all of it. Does anyone at work know Jelly? It may be worth confiding in someone in case you start to feel worse.

KatoPotato · 27/05/2015 16:05

Pixie im the resident ELCS expert, huge fan and I'm all healed and well already. Any questions just ask! X

PixieChops · 27/05/2015 16:23

Kato that's amazing! Glad you've recovered so quickly Smile I'm just a bit nervous about the procedure, I'm ok with the whole hospital environment and I ended up in theatre last time so the big bright lights won't frighten me.
How long where you in the operating room for (actual surgery)? How many nights did you stay in hospital? What is the aftercare like and do you have any advice on what I should be doing and what I shouldn't be doing afterwards? Bet you wish you'd never offered to help me now lol!
Jelly I still get dizzy some days, it's because your blood pressure is all over the place. Just try and sit quietly for a minute, I usually put my head between my knees, it usually passes quite quickly after that.
Had what felt like morning sickness this morning. Was really weird as I've not had it since 12 weeks. Had some coco pops and then felt better. My mum said it maybe because DS is having a growth spurt! If he was any bigger I'll be stretched sideways, when he has big stretches you can see him poking out either side even though he's head down! Was also informed that my bump is all baby which makes me feel better even if I do resemble an orange with stick arms and legs Hmm

jellypi3 · 27/05/2015 16:31

thanks folks im trying to sit as still as possible.

DP wants me to tell my boss in case i need to go home or anything like that but im concerned it is so early (i'm only 4+4)

teejayem · 27/05/2015 16:40

I step away for a couple of hours and it's all about anal!

No baby yet I'm afraid. Saw a totally different registrar, who wasn't very interested in my plug, or BHs or anything really, although he said that they will be going with my later DD which is June 12th. Hmm. But I won't be going over it which I suppose is something, but didn't pass comment when I said I thought things were happening at all. Also got another prescription but reduced codeine dosage which apparently is normal this close to delivery? So, so inconsistent, I questioned it and he told me it was policy, the last Dr I saw said I can take all the way to the end. So fed up with the inconsistency of it all. 6th different Dr, and 14th different HCP, had to go all through my notes and why I'm high risk and stuff again. Hmm thank god I've got a strip of strong ones left in my stash for emergencies, although I've been taking them so long I think I'm just tolerant now anyway. Feel quite deflated by the entire thing, feel like I've had the induction carrot on a stick for bloody weeks. We're going to sainsburys on the way back and I am buying cake.

Fattycow · 27/05/2015 17:03

I am a grumpy cow today. Didn't sleep for half the night (was awake until after 4am), then a sodding cold caller woke me up (haven't had one of those in forever, so of course one called me when I'm finally asleep) and this afternoon my nap failed due to construction works going on outside...

Toast85 · 27/05/2015 17:13

Agh phone lost my post!

Tee, before and Cym- keep going, finish line is in sight! And you too pixie- glad you had a good consultant appointment!

Bat- ive been thinking the same, we're creeping up that list! Still plenty of viroids ahead of us at the moment though. Urgh exams! Good luck.

Nowt to report here really. 19 +4 and scan next Monday- feeling really excited about it.

Want to ask your advice about sleeping though- I go to sleep on my left with a pillow between my knees but wake up either on my back or half twisted onto my front (but with shoulder and arm still underneath me) but starting to feel this position squishes my bump and is uncomfortable. Wondering if I need a posh pregnancy pillow.. The dreamgenii springs to mind as it has a bit that goes behind that might stop me rolling back onto my back. Any tips or advice though for how I can stay on my side properly? Not really wanting to splash out on a pillow if I can help it.

Fattycow · 27/05/2015 17:28

toast, you don't have to sleep on your side. You cannot squish the baby, as you will shift automatically or wake up. Our bodies are good like that! I have a nursing pillow (this one www.hemashop.com/gb/shop/babies-and-kids/care/babycare/nursing-pillow-(33360502) )myself, but have abandoned it recently as it wasn't comfy anymore to sleep with. I am now on my side with a normal one between my knees and I always wake up after a while, as I cannot roll over easily anymore and wake up to roll...

Toast85 · 27/05/2015 17:29

Jelly I felt better knowing my senior at work knew (told her straight away) but also had safety reasons why I needed to tell someone, due to my job, rather than needing to tell them due to feeling rough. Depends how you feel, but if you're feeling rotten at work you may feel more able to do something about it sooner if your manager knows.

Toast85 · 27/05/2015 17:33

Cross post, thanks fatty. Doesn't lying on our backs restrict baby's blood flow though?

LaLaLaaaa · 27/05/2015 17:42

Catch up properly later, going to nap before exercise class

Jelly eat something - I got dizzy if hungry

OP posts:
Fattycow · 27/05/2015 17:44

No, it doesn't. They say lying on your left side it the most optimal position, but all positions are just fine. Really, our bodies are geared into letting the baby grow, so if anything would be bad, you automatically wouldn't do it.
You can't stay on the same side for the entire night anyway, as you will get bedsores that way. You will move around and shift, nothing you can do to prevent that happening!
I really like having the nursing pillow, as it will be very useful when Minicow is here, regardless of breast or bottle feeding!

WilHarlot · 27/05/2015 17:48

Purple also forgot most important thing! Toilet wipes. If you tear or have an episiotomy, toilet paper is not your friend.

BeforeIChangeMyMind · 27/05/2015 18:30

Fatty I love my dream genii - it really takes the pressure off my hips and back. I saw a thread recently where some folk had found them at TK Maxx for £20-ish, worth a look I'd say.

Anyone else in the latter stages and napping for England?? I've had 3 today, thanks to DH being off with me and DS for half term. Really hoping I have the baby this week so DH can go straight to paternity leave. We shall see...

DulcetMoans · 27/05/2015 18:44

Yeah, I can't believe that anal thing didn't go further!

So I almost dread to ask this pis but why were you tipping water on yourself when you wee'd? I don't get it!

I'm mixed on the dream genii toast but I realised this week I have been using it wrong - which is the second time I have thought I had it right but didn't! la loves it though! I struggle like you and still wake up on my back, but dreamgenii does at least angle you slightly so not flat on your back.

Sounds like you have a shit healthcare provider there tee. 14 consultants?! At least there is a deadline I guess but annoying it keeps changing. Ignore that anyway, just have the baby already! No need to wait until 12 June!

Can be normal jelly but sit down and something to eat should tell you if it's something more. It is tough not telling anyone at work in early stages as you feel so shit but depends how well you get on with them.

Fleurchamp · 27/05/2015 18:48

before I am on holiday atm and have napped every day for at least an hour (am 32 + 3), not sure how I am going to cope at work next week.

I'm am feeling so somber since hearing about chat's baby boy. My
Mum lost my brother in similar circumstances, he would have been 40 this year a few days before my due date. I must remember to give my mum an extra big squeeze next time I see her. I just cannot imagine how chat is feeling right now.

Had a wonderful massage at a very posh spa today Grin they had a special pillow so I could lay on my front - it was worth it just for the sheer novelty of not being on my side for once!

As above, I start off sleeping on my left or right and invariably wake up at some point on my back. TBH I wake up on my back and turn over, which must mean my body is telling me to do so? I am not going to worry about it.

Thanks for the hospital bags lists ladies, it's the next job when we get home.

teejayem · 27/05/2015 18:57

Oh I'm in full eviction mode, I'm not waiting another fortnight!! I'm boring myself with being such a misersble, moaning impatient twat!
before yep, I luffs my naps! Not had one today and I feel really tired, but I only try and allow myself one if I've not laid in late otherwise it totally buggers me for the next nights sleep.

The water thing dulce - I'm not speaking from experience but my understanding is that squirting your possibly torn/stitched/swollen/sore bits with water is to take the sting off while you pee.....

jellypi3 · 27/05/2015 19:09

Thanks for the advice all :)

Hope to see some babies soon tee cym and before :)

Cymraes17 · 27/05/2015 19:15

Back home. Told to keep an eye on things. Baby was moving, just not as vigorously as before. Dr said if im worried i should lay on side for 2 hours and count movements, 2 hrs with 3 children about, he must be having a laugh! Hoping next time I go in there will be another person with us, i really dislike all the waiting and having to depend on others. DH had to o fetch DCs after I was hooked up to the monitor, and FIL came to pick me up fair play to him.
Waiting now for them to come home.....
