Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 29th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 47th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates: stats

dulcet I think the best thing you can do is remember that you're not superwoman and that regardless of whether you are there or not things will continue and they WILL cope. It might not be to your exact wish or perfect at first but it will happen. I'm having the same worries because I've got projects that are finally coming to fruition after 5 years work and I'm about to go off and leave them when they are at their most exciting and vulnerable point. It's so hard when you are really conscientious about your job, which you obviously are, and you know you want to leave it perfect. Try not to add more stress to what's an already quite scary time.

gouda I used to panic a bit about bf but honestly - as you go on in your pregnancy you will pick up information and you will have classes towards the end, whether they are NCT or hospital ones. I've only just had my bf classes and now finally feel like I understand it. You'll have plenty of support hopefully locally as there are groups you can join and bf cafes, plus NCT if you want to join it.

At hte start the baby's stomach is minute and the few drops of colostrum you produce is plenty. After first few days your milk comes in more and your baby will start to feed more and take in more milk. I'm already producing colostrum as my boobs are leaking, which is making me feel more comfortable about it all as I'm hoping it's a good sign that I will be able to produce it when my baby arrives. Chat has said previously that a lot of women think they can't produce milk, but actually what happens is that they have a crappy latch and have no one to help them when trying to bf and then they feel frustrated and upset and feel it's too hard so feel like they have to give up before they want to. So not being able to produce milk is not as common as people think.

I am very much in the camp of 'do what's best for you and baby'. No point in a mum being miserable and struggling on if they are finding bf too hard, as unhappy mum will mean unhappy baby. Find what's best for you, whether that's bf, ff or a combination.

I'm going to definitely give it go though and I'm hoping to be able to do it for a while, not least because it's cheaper!!!

mountain I would have LOVED a holiday at that point! so tired, waddly and fed up. Not sure about a long flight as I've not done it pg but as long as you're feeling well and your doctor gives you note to fly I'd say go for it!

Um, my arse is hurting a lot today, like I fell on it and bruised it and I can't sit down properly. I can only assume that dp has taken a cricket bat to my arse while I slept. Can anyone enlighten me as to wtf I might have done to my buttocks?

Batfish and Mountain You lot are brave going on holidays so late, i'm planning to spend the last ten weeks of my pregnancy beached on my sofa comfort eating. It's not going to happen, but that's my ideal.

Cymraes17 · 03/06/2015 09:55

Good morning!
Happy due date before, hope things get going soon.
Rhiannon, your nan will probably be able to hear you, Im sure she would be delighted to learn Eira's name.
How are you today Tee? I keep getting the backache and tightnings at night, go to bed in the hope that she is on the way, and by morning nothing, nada, dim. It's frustrating.

ChatEnOeuf · 03/06/2015 10:01

You lot are brilliant. Haven't laughed so much in ages! Snow white Grin

Gouda LLL are good and often multilingual (though it probably depends who's around as to how good their English is). I'm a BF counsellor, so you can always ask me - and the Kellymom website is great, as is the breastfeeding network one - lots of advice. There's some good youtube videos out there (Jack Newman is the name you need to search for iirc).

La, take the test. Then you won't wonder.

Sharing Mountain's shock at your pharmacist Jelly - that's just all wrong. Aciclovir is perfectly safe.

No NFMArse, bit jealous of the rainbow poos.

Having said I'd happily live in maternity jeans forever...turns out I can't. They fell down this morning, so I'm back in normal clothes.

teejayem · 03/06/2015 10:15

Nothing cym. dM is coming for lunch, but we're getting cakes first. Back still hurts, and I just dozed off (been up since 4.30) and woke up with pain which seems to have gone again. Maybe a walk will help. The other thing I. Wondering is where I'm regularly taking paracetamol in the co-codamol for my back, if it's slowing things down at all, or I'm not feeling the more subtle twinges. I might try this afternoon without and see what happens.
A researcher from the bbc who I'm in contact with around my weathery stuff has been in touch to ask if I would consider streaming footage/share some video or pictures if I take any etc for a piece on the one show if we have good thunderstorms on Friday. I've said possibly... Which means we!'ll have the most corking thunderstorm in the South East has had for years and I'll be in frigging labour for it. Maybe Mr Tee is right about Friday....

gaggiagirl · 03/06/2015 10:24

Hi chat

mountaingirl01 · 03/06/2015 10:25

I've got to say pis snow white was a work of genius Grin

Glad it's not just me bat! I keep telling myself that people are pregnant in other countries and their fine! I must say i think you're brave with the longer flight though! We were planning on going in a couple of weeks which I would have preferred, but my dh forgot to sort out his annual leave (after I spent 3days researching the perfect place to go) i only blanked him for a few hours still I am really looking forward to spending some time with him :)

gaggiagirl · 03/06/2015 10:25

Famous tee!!!!!!

batfish · 03/06/2015 10:29

Hopefully we are not being mental mountain! Seychelles is only a 4.5 hour flight from where I am and then a couple of hours hanging around before a 1.5 hour boat ride on what I have already been warned are rough seas and I'll only be slightly in the middle of nowhere - what could possibly go wrong?! Grin I thought I was being rather sensible in deciding not to go to Bali which would have been a 9 hour flight. Ah well fingers crossed for us both!

Fleurchamp · 03/06/2015 10:30

Just checking in to say hi

Will try to catch up later. Anxiety has me in her evil clutches Sad

Saw mw yesterday and because BP was ok etc she was v reluctant to sign me off and so didn't. Have another appointment next week. Feel so down.

dulcet I also had nct class yesterday, you're not in my group are you? Shock SE London

We were the oldest in the group, poor DH was 10 years older than a couple of them.

teejayem · 03/06/2015 10:48

Seychelles sounds divine bat

Big cuddles for you fleur and dulce

So I just got up and I've had some... Interesting.... Cm (before I don't know if this is anything like you alluded to yesterday) but it was runnier than normal, browny tinged, def not blobby like last week's pseudo plug Hmm. It was enough to run down my leg (boak) but not massively watery, and now it's stopped.
Do I risk the waitrose run and have my waters go in the cream cake aisle?

Cymraes17 · 03/06/2015 10:54

Tee deffo go to waitrose on cake hunt. You may get 'awarded' if you go into labour!

Jcandy · 03/06/2015 11:08

Thanks Mountain Smile the Cymex cream says it's for cold sores but I really don't know what it thinks it will do. Off to buy some aciclovir and kick these cold sores butts.

Oh fleur that's really mean, what about the stress it's causing you, did she not take that into consideration?

I'd love to go somewhere on holiday (going to Wales in July but it's not the same as abroad) but the only holiday I can take is first week of October when I'll be 30 weeks so you'll have to let me know how it goes!

goodnessgraciousgouda · 03/06/2015 11:10

Thanks La that's reassuring. Unfortunately for my purposes, very few women breastfeed in France compared to the UK, and there's a very limited network for support. I'll have to ask my friend if they cover breastfeeding in the preparation classes.

Fleurchamp · 03/06/2015 11:11

For those asking, I went away at 31/32 weeks and was fine! It was actually lovely to have the break.

BUT going away and leaving work just before mat. leave has been a huge mistake as rather than being able to coast to the finishing line I am trying to deal with a huge backlog of work (currently working on emails received on 21st May Shock) and a bone crushing amount of "other stuff" I wanted to get done before I go.

I now regret going away.

MW is nice but a bit tough love.

RhiannonElward · 03/06/2015 11:12

Ooh! Sounds exciting Tee, go for the cakes, you might get them free if you flood the place and make a hasty exit.

Dulce and Fleur, sorry you're having a shit time of things, hope you both feel better soon.

batfish · 03/06/2015 11:16

Aww fleur sorry to hear you're feeling down in the dumps and mean midwife wouldn't sign you off! Hope you feel better soon.

I plan to work until 39 weeks mentalist due to crappy mat leave so hol will be long before that at least.

Fleurchamp · 03/06/2015 11:39

Receptionist bought me a chocolate eclair I wonder if she has been reading this thread

gaggiagirl · 03/06/2015 11:59

I'm working to 40 weeks. I figured that if I go into labour at work its just a toddle up 6 floors to the mat unit. Job done!

fleur how lovely! Enjoy

goodnessgraciousgouda · 03/06/2015 12:00

fleur - sad news about the mw, but awesome news about the chocolate eclair!!!

teejay - I would definitely risk going into labour in the cream cake aisle. You might even get to leave with free cake if you refuse to let go of it like a crazy person when they try and get you out! Grin.

Between going into labour WITH cake, or going into labour without even the possibility of cake, I'd say the former wins every time. You might not even want the damn thing, but at least it is there...

batfish · 03/06/2015 12:13

gaggia part of me is tempted to just work until something happens but I quite fancy the idea of a nice self indulgent week long wallow on the sofa - assuming baby bat doesn't decide to ruin my lovely plan and come early! Also I'm not allowed to leave my car in the work car park overnight

BeforeIChangeMyMind · 03/06/2015 12:18

Def go to Waitrose Tee. Brown tinged is good - old blood so likely from inner cervix just what mw told me yesterday I am not in any way medically qualified You could put a maternity pad in just in case if you're worried.

Sitting here unable to move due to waves of nausea. Feels hormonal like morning sickness, just sipping water and keeping still. Started Mon eve, this is the first time I've had it in the day, so we'll see what happens.

I'm the same Cym, everything ramps up at night and then... Nope. Like Groundhog Day!

Sorry for my lack of replies to other thread topics, I don't mean to neglect you all. Work stress is nasty, nasty but it's never as important as it feels at the time. Health and babies come first.

Ugh, I feel Confused

jellypi3 · 03/06/2015 12:19

Going into labour at work would be horrible for me seeing as I work in central London.

gaggiagirl · 03/06/2015 12:26

jelly I prescribe mat leave at 37 weeks for you then.

Its FACT time........FACT. If your waters break in Asda you get a hamper of goods. If they go in marks and sparks you get a bunch of flowers!
I'm haunting Asda on my due date if I'm not in the office.

PixieChops · 03/06/2015 13:13

I keep feeling sick too!
Don't worry Purple there's no baby here as of yet Smile
Can't remember who mentioned giving newborns water because they may get thirsty, it's a massive no/ no! Babies can only hold so much milk at that age and they need it so they can get nutrients from it. Water will only fill their tiny tummies and will do them no favours, they can become ill quickly and lose a lot of weight. Water is only required from about 6 months when baby is starting solid foods.
Had a nice morning and met up with my antenatal group (had to take pest though and she was a bit of a pest as well) for coffee. Came back and putDD in her cot and she's having a nap for an hour or so. I've got physio tomorrow morning and cannot wait! Oh my poor aching legs and hips Confused
