suzi2 · 11/11/2006 11:11

Hello! Just getting this into my threads list...

peachygirl · 11/11/2006 12:16

Hi just popping into say we had been dithering about whether to pay for a extra scan to find out what the baby is and Dh sent off an online booking to babybond ( which is very close to us) and they have asked us to go in this afternoon !! EEEKK

soundbites · 11/11/2006 17:46

Hello - well done on the new thread. All is well here - feeling pretty good really and started the third trimester on Thursday. Somehow the last 12 weeks seem like they will be over in no time - such a contrast to the first 12 lasting forever!

Have a good weekend.

soundbites · 11/11/2006 17:47

P.S. what's the news, Peachy?

peachygirl · 11/11/2006 21:35

It's a girl!!
I'm going back next weekend as they couldn't get a good 3D picture of her (gosh that's strange to type) she had her hands and feet in front of her face - being coy again.
This was despite two walks, chocolate, bouncing about, wobbling the bump and drinking water and cola.
I have to say the service I got was excellent. Very friendly, professional. I would reccommend them.

sallyn · 12/11/2006 06:43

thanks for setting this up Tommy. congratulations on your girl Peachy, i'm very envious of your extra scan as it feels like ages since the 20-weeker and ages to go until we pop. mummy2jake, you're the first other person i've heard of who's uncomfortable at the top of their bump - mine feels like the baby is swinging off it, though i only notice it when i've been busy. i'm sure it's just stretching and nothing to worry about, but it's annoying and it's good to know i'm not alone.

28 weeks yesterday - hurrah!

MoosMa · 12/11/2006 08:53

mummy2jake and sallyn, I had pains at the top of my bump with DD1, the skin was very sore to touch and felt like it was burning, especially when in the shower. It went away as soon as she was born though - must be the stretching like you say.

Ruth2808 · 12/11/2006 15:19

Wow a new thread. I haven't been on for a while lots of family stuff happening!! I reach 28 weeks on Tues and I am officially enormous!! Went to see MW about it she had a poke around and basically told me that it was ME!! She said that because this is baby number 3 my stomach muscles have just given up the ghost She was full of good news saying I better do plenty of pelvic floor muscles or it might all drop out the bottom!!!! Roll on 40 weeks!

suzi2 · 12/11/2006 15:35

I was at babybond too for a 4d yesterday peachy. My wee girl is gorgeous! Fantastic pictures - I'll need to see if I can stick them up somewhere.

She's breech and back to back though... and she'd better shift lol! I want my homebirth, or at least a natural birth and I know I'l hvae a fight on my hands if she stays that way up!

peachygirl · 12/11/2006 15:54

Which one did you go to suzi? I was really inpressed with them. The receptionist was very chatty

hi all, well done for starting a new thread Tommy. The last one was quite a monster for anyone trying to catch up. I think we have finally found a house for us to move in to and that will be happening on 2nd Dec. We're not moving far from where we are now but it's across the river and into a different authority. What do you all reckon to chaning doctors now or after the birth? I'm still planning on having the baby at the hospital I'm already booked in at which is with the midwife team from my present doctors - decisions!!!! Any recommendations/advice? Thanks

suzi2 · 12/11/2006 19:38

It was lIvingston branch peachy. I went there for my 4D with DS (at exactly 26+2 aswell!) and for an 8wk dating one this time. I think they are lovely and give a great service.

Welcome andyrobo - you're due on my DHs birthday.

Smudgemum, I guess for me it would depend how far you are from your previous place. If it's no bother to make that journey, then I can't see a problem staying at the old place. Having said that, unless you need your old GPs support during pregnancy then I would register at the new place. It can take weeks for notes to arrive and also once baby arrives you'll struggle to find the time and inclination to get signed up!

MoosMa · 12/11/2006 20:58

24th is my birthday too, and Dennis Waterman and Lleyton Hewitt who is also the same year as me!

Bienchen · 13/11/2006 09:39

Hi there, not posted for a while on the ante-natal thread as I had a lot of other stuff one - mainly working out how I feel being made redundant. Lots of time to make gingerbread, I think...
I'm also due 24 Feb. Still undecided whether we want to know whether it's a boy or girl but there's another scan booked just before Christmas, so meybe we'll find out by chance.

Anyone planning a home birth?

Tommy · 13/11/2006 09:42

Hi Bienchen - I am planning a homebirth but I have suddenly got a bit nervous about it! It wil be fine as long as it happens at the right time - i.e. in the evening or through the night but I keep having all these thoughts that I will go into labour in Sainsbury's or in the bus or somewhere and the obvious reaction of others would be to call an ambulance and take me to hospital.

My DSs were both born around 11pm so I'm obviously hoping that will happen again!

OP posts:
Bienchen · 13/11/2006 10:03

Tommy, I totally understand. The homebirth is sort of an "in an ideal world scenario" - a bit like the old birth plan. Obviously, if circumstances change (baby being breech or me being ill or yes, it decides to arrive when I'm elsewhere) I am resigned to the fact that it will be the local hospital again. being a second time mum I just think I might as well have the baby at home since you are probably sent home within hours of the birth anyway...

suzi2 · 13/11/2006 10:29

I'm planning a homebirth too. But I'm also getting a bit worried - I'm worried I've pinned my hopes on it too much and won't get it and will be disappointed. Baby is breech at the moment so she'd better turn! My hospital experience with DS wasn't bad by any means, but it could have been much better and since this is my last I would love birth to be something realy special...

Tommy · 13/11/2006 10:50

I'm not bothered about it being really special particlarly and if I have to go into hospital for any reason then so be it, I just want to get into my own bath afterwards, sleep in my own bed and eat my own food!
