November 2015 ladies! Time to feel the glow!

Are you expecting a babe in November this year? If so, get ready to get glowing. Breaking out in spots, or tears, or both is part of the so called glow. Feeling sick, contemplating births and having the odd good day of eating well is also all glow.

Come on then. Wee in the corner to mark your spot. Have some Brew or Cake or Wine. Then glow.

Haha guybrush does your DH fancy guessing next weeks lottery numbers for me?

Welcome amyyy

We seem to have picked the right car then! I've not had a proper drive yet but dh was very happy with all the gadgets and I'm happy that the boot is big enough to use as an emergency changing table.

I've in the hospital Thursday meeting the consultant, Monday for the Down's blood test and Tues for a GTT. There's going to be no blood left in me by Tuesday afternoon. Anyone else got a GTT coming up soon? I'm sure it was much later last time. I hope they don't make me do it twice again. Starving a pregnant lady is not fun.

PooSweats84 · 24/05/2015 10:56

Morning all! Got the MIL coming to stay on Tuesday, we've not told her yet, she's the last to know now pretty much, and she phoned last week to say that DH's youngest sis has just found out she's pregnant, so she's going to get 2 Grandchildren about 10 weeks apart if all goes well! Also got my 16 week appt on Wednesday this week, must remember not to wee beforehand like last week with the consultant. The nurse asked me to do a wee before my appt, and I'd only been to the loo about an hour before, managed to get about a third of a cup out, and then promptly dropped it down the loo! Slight embarrassment having to explain that one! We're also in the new car camp, we pick it up on the 20th of June, 7 seat Vauxhall Zaphira Tourer. Grin . How's everyone doing this weekend? I'm feeling shattered and whale like, and can't stop eating and drinking!

is anyone else having constant headaches ? ive got them all the time and taking paracetamol alot and its beginning to worry me Sad

feathergirl1 · 24/05/2015 12:50

Can someone add me to the list please? Baby no 1, age 37 but my due date has been moved to 27/10 so I'm an imposter sorry! My original date was 2/11.

feathergirl1 · 24/05/2015 12:52

Pennygirl hope you weren't in the car at the time!

Has anyone started looking at prams/pushchairs yet? I haven't got a clue what to go for?!? Can't believe how much some cost either. Confused

Oddicombe37 · 24/05/2015 12:55

I had a terrible headache yesterday, but I think it was dehydration.

I am very annoyed to be having to buy yet another pram! It's 8 years since I last did this so need to start from scratch with stuff. I have been recommended a Stokke pram, but they are hugely expensive.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 24/05/2015 13:15

I hated buggy shopping last time but love the one we got in the end - babyzen yoyo as it's a teeny tiny good city pram. They don't do doubles so I'm looking at Phil and Teds now as they seem to be the only inline doubles. They're all so bulky though. I know I'm the complete opposite to what's fashionable but I like small prams, I find them so much easier

pennygirl26 · 24/05/2015 13:42

feathergirl thankfully i wasnt in the car it was parked outside my house Sad knocked over my front wall aswell i only had the car 4 months.

im waking up everyday with a headache n getting them throughout the day its been about 10 days now.

annatha · 24/05/2015 13:51

There's always loads of prams for sale on Facebook baby groups, they're so expensive new!

Abbeyroad we were looking at Phil and Teds as I like how customizable they are but they're so expensive. We saw a version on eBay for about half the price, I can't remember what it was called but if you search double buggy or tandem it should come up. I couldn't deal with a side by side one, the standard one is too wide as it is.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 24/05/2015 14:49

Thanks annatha I'll take a look. Yeah a side by side is no use for me as I get a lot of public transport and it'd be a pain!

I meant to say a while ago on this thread when we were talking about antenatal courses I'd really recommend the Red Cross Baby and Children first aid course. It's about 45 pounds and takes you up to when they are teenagers and covers loads from resuscitation to spotting meningitis etc. I did a full day course but they do a series of evenings too.
If you do I'd go in the second trimester probably as it's practical so all that getting on the floor with the dummys might be a bit difficult if you're massive. We also covered first aid for pregnant women and a few extra questions that people asked, it was really good value

mrswishywashy · 24/05/2015 15:32

We went and looked yesterday. I like the look of the joie chrome. Seat can be used from newborn and car seat can go on top as well.

Also like the uppabbay but it's a bit more expensive. It's very versatile though can have double seats, car seats or carry cots and also can have buggy board. If I was having twins or the change at a second baby it's what I'd get.

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 24/05/2015 16:13

I'm going to be selling our travel system as have had to upgrade to a twin one. I would offer it here but I don't think any of you are in my area and it seems silly to ship it!

cryingbabymess · 24/05/2015 17:01

We went to mothercare today to look at travel systems. We watched some reviews on YouTube last night. I was stuck between a cosatto giggle 2, bugaboo chameleon and Uppababy vista 2015. The Uppababy wasn't in mothercare I've gone off the cosatto from the reviews and my OH doesn't think the bugaboo is sturdy enough...I'm soooo clueless!

Really the the Uppababy now but need to go to john Lewis to see it. Any tips?

CoffeeTwo · 24/05/2015 17:08

We're getting a giggle 2 crying :)

I'll be 14 weeks tomorrow and still feeling very sick and exhausted. This has been a loooooooong first trimester.

Focusfocus · 24/05/2015 17:11

We've looked at quite a few baby things and for the pram will probably go for the Armadillo City. It depends what you want out of it. We basically want it for strolls and walks on level ground, occasional weekends out with doggy in the woods, and maybe the odd use on public transport so a one handed fold would be good. Definitely a light one is preferred. Also considering Babyzone yoyo.

Got quite a few clothes already - all bunch bought for £60 in all from Asda George after arranging from price low to high Blush. Got loads for it. Also a good load arriving next week with Dad from India, complete with metres of soft cotton in case I wish to try my hand at blankets and mum has also sent 4 metres of pure muslin to make as many squares as we wish :) that should see us through the initial bit I think. Mum arrives fortnight after babe, and I expect the first time grandparents, first time grand uncles, first time grand aunts, and drumroll - first time great-grandmother (bless) will send some stuff with her :p

I can see ebay is good for used clothes, and while I am totally convinced about the ecological, financial benefits of getting bundles off ebay for a few quid, something is stopping me from buying!!! Whether it's a first baby syndrome, or an issue with body fluids of unknown babies, or an inherited thing from urban India, where you never wear the clothes of others if you can afford your own - I have no idea, but I am hovering on the mouse.

I've just seen my brother and sis in law and they've offered us my niece's cot bed (unused!), high chair and pram/car seat. They won't take any money for them either-really generous of them. I know what you mean focus about second hand clothes. I've bought my last few mobile phones off ebay but I don't think I can buy baby clothes though?

cryingbabymess · 24/05/2015 19:30

We're getting a lot of things second hand as my friends wee boy will be 1 when ours arrives.

cryingbabymess · 24/05/2015 19:31

Probably a bit of TMI but I've noticed I've a lot of white watery discharge today - normal or not? Confused

Focusfocus · 24/05/2015 19:34

I've been getting TONS of DH's discharge cryingbabymess. It's watery! but often also creamy. I've researched it,mand it's very common in second and third trimester. Seriously it's very noticeable in my knickers.

DH's fish garage?

OP posts:
Focusfocus · 24/05/2015 19:39

Ok. First of all, I did not mean DH's discharge. I am getting my own discharge.

Secondly, I meant to correct that and write "DH's discharge?!" To mock myself. But that became "DH's fish garage".

DH doesn't have a fish garage. His discharge isn't on my knickers.

kill me now
