November 2015 ladies! Time to feel the glow!

Are you expecting a babe in November this year? If so, get ready to get glowing. Breaking out in spots, or tears, or both is part of the so called glow. Feeling sick, contemplating births and having the odd good day of eating well is also all glow.

Come on then. Wee in the corner to mark your spot. Have some Brew or Cake or Wine. Then glow.

Cots... We started out with an IKEA one, which we ended up sawing the side off and attaching to our bed, which worked well as they were the same height as we also had an IKEA bed. Now dd is in a cotbed in her own room.

Were in a two bed flat which will be too small eventually but we aren't in any hurry to move. The baby will sleep in our room to start with, then can share with dd for a few years even if it's a boy. I have become quite ruthless about clutter and we don't have room for big toys like play kitchens and so on, but dd has access to that kind of thing at nursery. Our garden is tiny but there are nice parks nearby. It suits us and we couldn't afford to move if it didn't.

Welcome Austen.

I'm not getting my head around buying anything for the baby but I'm going to go to Aldi tomorrow to get some leggings to fit over my pot belly! Out of interest has anyone got a Sleepyhead Deluxe Pod? It's got good reviews on Amazon !

Hi ladies, I'm yet to catch up on the last few days, had MIL staying, but she's safely back at home! Just checking in to say I had my 16 week appointment with lovely stand in midwife who I wish was my named midwife, she was lovely, had all the time to listen to me do a complete u-turn on wanting a c-section and understood why is changed my mind, also let me listen to the heartbeat which was galloping along nicely! Hope everyone's doing well on here!

Gr33dyeggs · 27/05/2015 22:07

Thanks Roughtyping a bit older than mine then. I think he'll enjoy sharing for a week years but appreciate a move or extension is likely needed in 5 years at the most.

PooSweats84 · 27/05/2015 22:22

I was naughty today and bought a fluffy snow suit type thing from mothercare for baby to come home from hospital in as it'll be late October/Early November. Trying to convince DH to go and road test some buggies at Kiddicare tomorrow as we speak but he's having none of it!Angry

Would it be bad to order a whole crate of fake beer for myself? I feel like an alcoholic. Technically I'm not as it's alcohol free but the shame is still there.

And was someone missing red wine upthread? They do alcohol free wine too, though god knows what that would taste like.

So today was the last day the hospital said they'd call me if I was high risk for any of the problems they test for, and they didn't call, so touch wood all is OK and we can start telling people.

I've just messaged a friend who I know is struggling to conceive, I have been dreading telling her as I imagine it is hard to hear about other people's pregnancies in that situation. I'm seeing her this weekend and I ummed and ahhed and decided it would be better to send an email rather than tell her to her face, I hope it was the right thing.

Tesco sell a nice alcohol free wheat beer which is the best one I've had. I've not yet found alcohol free wine which is worth drinking.

annatha · 27/05/2015 23:43

snozzberrypie do you know what its called? I don't fancy commuting to £30+ of beer that I might not like and there's a tesco round the corner. I think messaging your friend beforehand is the best way, she can process it first and not feel like she has to plaster a smile on if you get what I mean?

TakesTwoToTango · 28/05/2015 01:21

Becks Blue is the way forward for alcohol free beer! No idea about wine though I'm afraid.

Hello! First post on the forum :)

Due 17th november

SnozzberryPie · 28/05/2015 08:11

Just checked the wheat beer and its erdinger alcoholfrei, they probably do sell it in places other than Tesco.

Welcome topsy!

Amyyy27 · 28/05/2015 08:16

Welcome Austen lively you got to hear the heartbeat, I sooo hope we get to on Wednesday!

annatha · 28/05/2015 08:39

Thanks I shall investigate!

flyingsprocket · 28/05/2015 09:35

The only alcohol free beer I like is Erdinger Alkoholfrei, most of the non alcoholic lagers taste too sweet for me. I heard that there's a Kopparberg alcohol free cider, has anyone tried it? Theses days if the pub has fever tree elderflower tonic I drink that with a slice of lime & it kind of feels like a g&t. Kind of.

Having said that, I'm going to a wedding this weekend and shall be having a glass of bubbly to celebrate.

flyingsprocket · 28/05/2015 09:36

Hi topsy

doomclaw · 28/05/2015 09:42

Welcome Topsy and Austen.

I tried a bottle of alcohol free Kopparberg cider last week but it really isn't the same. I was out with DH last night and he had a pint of vanilla stout and it smelt soooo good that I had to have a taste. I don't normally like stout but I could have drunk a whole pint.

Not at work today but trying to keep busy to stop myself thinking about when the quad test results will come but also avoid the Aldi event as I fear the once I start buying things I won't stop Smile

SnozzberryPie · 28/05/2015 11:06

Flying the kopparberg is super sweet.

Have you tried the brew dog nanny state? It's 0.5% and quite drinkable.

Dixiebell · 28/05/2015 11:11

Just bought myself a couple of bottles of kopparberg this morning to try out on someone here's recommendation! Also second Becks Blue, it's the only one that tastes vaguely normal. I will also in the pub go for a G&T without the G! With a squeeze of lime you barely miss the G. Barely. All other fizzy stuff is too sweet for me.

Blueblink · 28/05/2015 16:35

Had my fish and chips - damn that was good!
considering going to Aldi after work but have a feeling all the good stuff would have gone! Hmm

Laura7010 · 28/05/2015 17:49

I've just been to Aldi, there was lots still there in my local one. Don't want to be buying any of the big stuff yet but got a nice blanket and some muslins. Worth a look to see. Glad you had fish and chips Blue, I would kill to be able to eat properly again!!

BowiesJumper · 28/05/2015 17:51

Welcome Austen and Topsy!

I'm feeling a bit ropey, but have a work quiz thing tonight so will soldier on! I'm getting an ache in my lower abdomen, just a bit in from my hip on the right on occasion which is really annoying. Hope it's not anything.

Luckily there isn't an Aldi near me or I'd have been tempted to shop!

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 28/05/2015 22:12

Sounds like a few of you had a good haul in Aldi!

Can't believe I'm 18 weeks already... 2 weeks until my anomaly scan which hopefully will put my mind at rest regarding pesky placentas (or not, but at least I'll know what's what)
Is anyone not finding out the sex? I really want a surprise at birth and finding out the sex ourselves as I didn't get that experience last time, it was all a bit hectic. I also was 90% confident DS was a boy due to people commenting on the scan pics, so it wasnt that suprising! But then I'm also really curious and getting tempted to find out.

Blueblink · 28/05/2015 22:15

I managed to get along to Aldi, just got a changing mat! Nothing too exciting and I didn't really know where to start to be honest! Easing myself in gently I think! Wink
