thanks smallgreenbanana :)
I sympathise with your moth problem - we had some under the bed in a hard to reach spot in our old flat. Had to treat the whole bedroom. They can be a nightmare to get rid of if they don't get under control (they don't fly for ages and live in your carpet!) Worth getting into all corners and pulling everything out to check for lavae. You need to use a moth spray to kill the hatchings and make sure they are all gone.

Moths are my nemesis. I bought the pheremone sticky traps which mostly did the job!

Thepurplegiraffe · 25/05/2015 07:28

Congratulations Zampa and so pleased Emma is doing well. Hope you can recover quickly and spend lots of time with her soon.

Hope you get positive results back Lucky, as you say, at least if there is an issue they know about it.

Happy bank holiday Monday everyone. I am so knackered today it is a massive relief not to have to go to work!

MisterSafetyCatchIsNotOn · 25/05/2015 09:52

Hi all, just jumping onto the new thread a little late! I have been neglecting both mn and fb equally as totally overwhelmed by work and toddler at the moment, sorry!

Huge congratulations Zampa, Emma is gorgeous and good to hear she is doing better. It must be totally exhausting and overwhelming so do make sure you look after yourself too! Easier said than done I'm sure. We're thinking of you and wishing you both well.

I found mothercare sizes quite big, the newborn size (10lb) completely swamped DS for the first month or so, he was small though and only early baby fit him properly (he wasn't early). However my niece was nearly 10lb born and could still fit some of the so called 'tiny baby' clothes from there for a few weeks. Either will probably do to start with tho and when you know what size baby you're dealing with you can get more in the appropriate size.

I have finally reserved a birth pool, bought 1 pack of newborn nappies and going to order a bedside cot today, so we'll cope a few days if the baby decides to come early! The rest will have to wait until I finish work at 38.5 weeks Confused

Charliej86 · 25/05/2015 11:36

Is there only me that wants to scream at/walk away from/slap people saying "you look really well" ??? I feel so tired n heavy I think i can't possibly look well.

Had work last night, had my nice team leader in, he let me try different tasks but still struggled and very tired today. Oh well 1 down 5 to go.

Zampa pleased to hear about Emma fingers crossed for some more good news.

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 25/05/2015 12:30

You're lucky Charlie, I get 'you look knackered'! To be fair DD has been up at least 5 times a night for the past week, I am knackered Smile

broodylicious · 25/05/2015 12:40

If someone told me I looked well, I'd hug them to within an inch of their life!! Take the compliment, people are generally not usually so kind.

SparklyPenguin · 25/05/2015 13:28

An old lady looked at me in Boots yesterday and said 'ooh, not long to go now!' Followed up by a 'but you still look very stylish' which I thought was particularly kind since I was wearing trainers, a plain jumper and worn-out leggings...

LaLaLaaaa · 25/05/2015 14:42

zampa she is beautiful! I really hope you're recovering OK and that she continues to do well, what a beautiful little girl xx

The 2nd and 3rd babies have arrived - the lady expecting twins has had them this morning. It was just a brief post on FB and she said she'd update with more when she'd recovered a bit as she hadn't even seen her babies yet.

I'm feeling very heavy and tired. I feel dizzy, sick and ill today and not really very 'glowy'

Fattycow · 25/05/2015 16:05

I stepped on the scales today for the first time in months. I'm mortified about what it showed. I am indeed a fat cow...

Welcome captain Grin

Lala I'm feeling exactly the same as you today. Went for a wander into town (didn't actually walk far at all) and it's wiped me out.

Sorry if this is TMI, but when I was out and about earlier, I noticed that I had an uncomfortable feeling in my fanjo, sort of like a weight/pressure down there, slightly achy. All in all, a funny sensation. Is this normal?

Charliej86 · 25/05/2015 19:37

Stinky I think I get same feeling usually just put it down to baby pushing/kicking down there.

i know I should take the compliment but Ive never been good at that.

LaLaLaaaa · 25/05/2015 20:11

yeah I've got that feeling too - as if I need to lay an egg!

Very strange...

JoY007 · 25/05/2015 20:40

Hi Ladies - I have this feeling too, started recently.

Well... Since we are kind of on TMI territory Grin have any of the 34weeks + ladies started perineal massage?Blush

smallgreenbanana · 25/05/2015 20:44

Welcome captain always nice to see a new face Smile

Thanks for the advice Luckystar and MissTwister. Not a very fun day for DH and I but we have cleared, tidied, hoovered, washed and vacuum bagged. We couldn't find any evidence of an infestation other than in the box of stored wool, but I guess I will be putting anti-moth stuff on the buy list -- along with all the baby stuff. Sigh. Sad

Felt a bit miserable about it earlier, but now serving up a roast chicken. Grin

Number3cometome · 25/05/2015 21:15

Yep 3 July babies have arrived already! Very scary.

Been a good day here, went to a BBQ, chilled in the jacuzzi (for 3 hours, it's the only thing that relieveS my back and SPD!) and now eating chocolate pancakes that OH made me Wink

smallgreenbanana · 25/05/2015 21:20

joy DH perked up when I told him about perineal massage Wink

I think the egg laying feeling is the baby's head and once it settles down (from 34 weeks in first timers) it feels like the baby might fall out Grin That's how I've heard it described anyway.

Butler4 · 25/05/2015 21:35

Joy I read about it but wasn't sure it would make a difference based on what I read. Dh was very interested as well small! Lol!

Fatty do you work with stats/spreadsheets by any chance? Or just like them. Keep lol-ing at you mentioning the stats so often Smile

Clstow · 25/05/2015 21:54

I was gonna ask about perineal massage too! When should I start? Any tips? And for those who already have DCs does it work?! I also read that there was no conclusive proof it works but I think I'm up for trying anything Grin
Also, do pelvic floor exercises make a massive difference? Some days I'm better at remembering than others...
Welcome Captain, hope you had a lovely bank hol too, I was working but thankfully it was pretty quiet.

JoY007 · 25/05/2015 22:48

My DP will not help, wanted him to as I did not know where it was Grin silly guy!

Apparently according to the oil I got, you are to start daily from 34 weeks onwards.

I want to believe it works, the area is a muscle so assume daily massage will reduce the tension, similar to stretches after exercise. Oh well I might be talking nonsense Hmm, will give it a try and be the guinea pig.

I do pelvic floor every day, also suggested as a way to reduce PGP.

smallgreenbanana · 25/05/2015 23:07

I do my pelvic floor sitting on the exercise ball - found it is quite fun that way. Love my exercise ball so much!

Threeplus1 · 26/05/2015 02:36

Welcome to the world baby Emma x

broodylicious · 26/05/2015 07:46

Perineal massage and pelvic floor exercises can work for sure. My friend and I both did pg yoga last time around and she did the massage on top, swearing it'd help to prevent tears. However, afraid to say that we both needed episiotomies, despite our virtually religious commitment to pelvic floor exercises and massage! Unfortunately, our babies got tired (and we were quite tired of pushing too!) so we both needed help. Annoying but true. So I guess everything is definitely worth a shot - I'm still doing my exercises to try and prevent another cut - because you may find it will be a huge contributing factor to you not needing any intervention.

butler, that made me actually laugh out loud!
