fatty I'm not having music either, as I also like music that isn't what would be called soothing Grin and plus I find it hard enough to concentrate on what the midwives are telling me without heavy metal in the background!

went to Dr today. have been put on cocodamol as he doesn't want to give too much codeine because he doesn't want baby to get drowsy and he panic. he did say though if they don't work I've to go back and he will re-readassess.

fattymcfatfat · 05/06/2015 13:30

ok, no idea what that last word is but I'm sure you lot know what I mean!

Fattycow · 05/06/2015 14:09

mcfatfat, I can just imagine us giving birth to Metallica. Especially 'One' or 'St. Anger' would be very soothing...Grin Although the rhythm might help us concentrate on the breathing...

I've got everything ready in hospital bags. the only thing left for me to buy is a few vests/babygrows in 0-3 months then I'm done and have everything I need for the first couple of months (or weeks if he takes after his brother!)
fatty I can actually fall asleep to certain songs, one being one of them. Grin I used to do it before I had kids, just stick my headphones on and I had a playlist of fall asleep songs!
my 2 love the same kind of music too. DS actually asked for iron maiden cds for his birthday and DD rocks out to avenged sevenfold.

Charliej86 · 06/06/2015 09:14

Treating myself to a lie in today, kids are at my brothers and OH has got up and gone to work already.

I had a day out of the house, catch up with a friend and unexpected nite in the pub with my parents with a lot of driving in between. Meant I was quite uncomfortable all day and bump ached a lot across the top but I enjoyed it. And I've booked my massage for Wednesday when I finish work. And booked hot tub for my Dd bday a week before Edd Confused

I'm lay here thinking about sleeping bags. I can remember buying them for ds but can't remember if I used them, not sure what to do. X

broodylicious · 06/06/2015 16:24

Ooh lucky you, charliej, getting a lie in. Hope it lasted a long time, so you got some good restSmile We had sleeping bags for dd but didn't use them until she was about six months old (think that was the guidance then but it's probably changed since!) and then she wore one until she was two when we got her into a duvet.

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 06/06/2015 16:50

Sleeping bags can usually be used from 8lbs now, some from smaller. DD was 8lbs after a few days so we used them from then.

broodylicious · 06/06/2015 17:45

I think our plan is to try swaddling (we've got a few swaddle blankets from last time that were barely used as dd just didn't like them!) and then we will go to sleeping bags. Good that they can be used before six months so we've got more optionsSmile

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 06/06/2015 18:09

I'm going to try swaddling too, only because I've got some lovely swaddling wraps from DD and she hated it! Not holding out much hope this time but might as well give it a try Smile

broodylicious · 06/06/2015 22:24

Exactly our thoughts gotto (weird not calling you by your actual real name lol! Playing havoc with my fb vs MN preggo brain!)

Aretepetite · 07/06/2015 06:46

Hi all

Another check in from me and lo. All is well just getting extremely uncomfortable ! Luckily not debilitating.
Had a lovely baby shower yesterday - twas a nice surprise ! All new to me. I'm not complaining, there was cake Grin

Aretepetite · 07/06/2015 07:03

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the weekend :)

Fattycow · 07/06/2015 11:25

mcfatfat, I was more thinking about the lyrics of the songs and how they would relate to labour. 'One' could be compared with still being in the womb at some parts, but other would be wildly inappropriate. 'Darkness imprisoning me' is quite reasonable to compare with still being inside mum, but 'all that I see, absolute horror' sounds a bit harsh. Grin.

Re: swaddling. The postnatal care nurse company we picked gives the new parents a lovely soft swaddle set as a gift, so I think we'll give it a go and see if the baby like it.

Well ladies, we had a lovely time by the sea (with the exception of a wedding reception going on below our room last night) and now ready to do final week at work and then concentrate on baby full time! Eek. Everything seems very real suddenly.

JoY007 · 07/06/2015 17:26

JoY007 · 07/06/2015 17:28

My last week at work, can't wait, I am getting very tired now. It's my body saying time to put your feet up.

fattymcfatfat · 07/06/2015 17:44

Grin fatty I didn't think of that!
how's everyone doing today? I've spent the day with my mum while the kids tired their Dad out on the park.

Number3cometome · 07/06/2015 17:49

Went shopping, then spent hours in the jacuzzi in the garden. Was amazing. OH is cooking dinner then I will probably fall asleep on the settee!

Hoping for my csection date.

Aretepetite · 07/06/2015 18:27

Jacuzzi Number, that sounds bliss at moment !

Was in bath at 5.30am. Bad piles Sad ice pack & cream just now ! Docs for something stronger tomorrow. It is getting more debilitating as the days go on !

Aretepetite · 07/06/2015 18:30

See post above Fatty
In between house work, I've been strategically sitting on an ice pack Confused it is helping. :)

Hope you had a nice day with your dm.

fattymcfatfat · 07/06/2015 18:38

ooh, ouch. that's one pg symptom I've not had. luckily.

fattymcfatfat · 07/06/2015 18:40

my mum was trying to dress me! she went and hunted out tops that were long and floaty on her so they would fit over my bump now I've outgrown the Maternity ones! Grin
