Hey all, no movements still Ginger, God knows what's going on! I'm not going to worry unless it goes past 24 weeks! I know what you mean about comments, I've had so many about my boobs! What do you say when someone says 'your tits look amazing' I know it's a compliment but it doesn't feel like it! #selfconscious

gingerbreadmam · 17/06/2015 07:45

hahaha i would enjoy the boobs comment so cant help there!

well if youve had your scan was baby moving on the scan? if so i wouldnt worry. you know its moving you just cant feel it. i think ive read some people in first pregnancy dont feel anything until after 22wks so dont drive yourself mad with worry.

ollieplimsoles · 17/06/2015 08:52

Caught up with everyone, yes don't worry ladypug, keep.midwives informed then they can advise you but I'm sure you will start feeling something soon.

My bump has really popped out these last two weeks. My sister has been away and when she came back yesterday she was surprised how big my bump was. Ive got some little red stretch marks too, on both sides on my tummy. I'm quite proud of them!

Still trying to decide which pram to buy!

Ladypug · 17/06/2015 09:23

Thanks guys, baby was moving like crazy on the scan and that made me feel loads better but it's been a few weeks since then! I'm only 22 weeks now though so trying not to worry until 24 weeks!

Superexcited · 17/06/2015 09:44

Try not to worry ladybug. There are loads of different factors which affect how early people will feel movement. Im sure you will feel something soon.
If you need some reassurance book an appointment with the midwife so you can have a listen on the Doppler.

Superexcited · 17/06/2015 16:48

I've had 3 people in the space of one hour tell me that I look much further along than 23 weeks and 2 of them suggested that the baby is going to be a whopper. I really wish people would keep their stupid opinions to themselves.

Ladypug · 17/06/2015 20:26

God people really are rude aren't they? Everyone thinks they can comment! Ps thank you, yeah trying to relax until at least 24 weeks, next midwife appointment is 25 weeks

gaggiagirl · 17/06/2015 22:34

I have got a midwife appt at 26 weeks, weird since it should be 28 weeks for subsequent pregnancies.

Did they say why it's early gaggia?

I had someone pat my stomach last night and then say 'do you mind when people touch your stomach?' I actually don't really but I find it kind of weird that people do it without asking. But then I couldn't say yes and make him (yup, him) feel awkward! So I just said no I don't mind!

Ladypug · 18/06/2015 08:01

If some random touched my stomach I dread to think what my reflex action would be! So.... Last night I woke at 4am to feel a jumping feeling on the inside, very minimal, like a hiccup but in my abdomen, it stopped again pretty quickly - is this movement?!?

hearthattack · 18/06/2015 08:21

Sounds like it Ladypug! :-D If it doesn't feel like anything you recognise it's probably your little one. Can be hard to tell sometimes though, I've been so gassy (sorry, TMI!). They'll probably get more definite really soon. I found it pretty weird at first but now I love it. Congrats!

I've had a couple of people try to touch up my bump. Both times they came at me with such enthusiasm it didn't occur to me that they were going for my stomach and I just backed off like 'whoa, what are you doing?' then I felt embarrassed for making them feel awkward, FFS.

funkybum · 18/06/2015 08:26

I dont really mind people touching the bump, but when my MIL put her ear to it, yeah, that was a bit odd!
DH has only just started to feel the kicks, think I am annoying him by constantly saying 'ooh, did you see that' and making him hold my tummy for ages.
Struggling to decide between a cot or a cot bed for our small nursery - what is everyone else going with?

Ladypug · 18/06/2015 08:33

Ooh yay I hope so hearthattack! Hehe I would probably freak if people charged at me too! I'm going for a cot bed as it has more longevity I think but my real debate is whether to get a co-sleeper or not for first 6 months or to put them in own nursery straight away? Hearing mixed opinions - what are you guys doing?

hearthattack · 18/06/2015 08:33

I'm not bothering with the nursery thing tbh. Figured he's going to be in with us for at least 6 months so i'll worry about it later. A friend is lending is their lovely old moses basket to have by our bed. If we don't get on with that we'll see what we think might work best depending on how defiant he proves to be!

hearthattack · 18/06/2015 08:37

Maybe we're just lazy!

funkybum · 18/06/2015 09:36

Baby will be on a crib next to us for first six months or so, but want the nursery sorted now purely for storage of things, plus with my son, I started putting him for daytime naps in own room quite young (with monitors).
Had a cot bed last time, but as soon as he was ready to have it converted, we raced out and bought a novelty car bed.. So not sure!

funkybum · 18/06/2015 09:38

Ooh, how do I go about adding the facebook group? More likely to be on there than here!

batfish · 18/06/2015 10:42

ladypug yes that sounds like movement! When I first started feeling anything it was like tiny little flicks or twitches from the inside, they never seemed to be getting any stronger and I was getting worried and then suddenly one day I was laid with my hand over the stomach and got a jab in the arm! Sounds like the start of something for you Smile

We will have the baby in our room at first - mainly because it will make life much easier for feeding when they are waking up every 5 seconds. And also because I'm sure I will be very paranoid and will be sleeping with one eye open listening to them breathe. I have also heard something about there being a lower risk of cot death if the baby is in your room for the first few months but I can't remember the reason, I think it may be because you are much more aware of any changes in their breathing etc.

batfish · 18/06/2015 10:42

funkybum we ideally want a cot bed but if we see a cot at a good price that we like then we would get it.

Superexcited · 18/06/2015 10:44

We are going for a space saver cot in our room which should last around 9 months and a cot bed in the nursery. We plan to keep baby in with us for 6-9 months and based on previous experience we don't expect we would get more than 2/3 months out of a Moses basket or crib. We can't fit a full cot or cot bed comfortably in our room so a space saver cot seems the best option for us.
I know I want baby in our room until he is weaned at least because I found it very easy to put get up, feed them and put them back down when our first two were born and were sleeping in our room. I'm not sure that I could cope with traipsing back and forth to the nursery in those early very tired months.

Superexcited · 18/06/2015 10:48

Ladypug, yes that sounds like movement. I'm feeling very excited for you. Babies tend to be more active at night when we are not moving around and effectively rocking them to sleep in the womb.

gingerbreadmam · 18/06/2015 14:55

i saw on argos the other day a mammas and pappas cot and changing station foe £95. seems a brill buy if any good to anybody.

i am currently in the cot or cotbed boat too as i dont have a clue how long either should last?

also because of baby's talipes a moses basket is out of the question i think was he will be in casts ive been looking at the saplings country pine katie crib but my dm says it looks like a washing basket Grin

gingerbreadmam · 18/06/2015 14:57
