Hi ladies,

Can I join your club? I'm expecting my first baby on 12th March, a wee pink bundle! I'm from sunny Scotland, well, incredibly dreary Scotland at the moment. Enjoying being pregnant at the moment, although the first couple of months weren't so much fun with the puking and the knackeredness. Both of which I still have, but somehow I'm finding it all easier to cope with!

Looking forward to getting to know you all, and spending lots of time skiving off work chatting on MN!

Hi Rosybumpily, I'm in Renfrewshire, live in a tiny wee village about 20 miles from Glasgow. Is everybody else having boys then? Must've been something in the water in June! :0)

Hi Noodlekitty and welcome - Nice to have you on board

Diva - are you going for it then, on Mondy - oooh its so exciting . We moved 18 months ago from a little cottage to a 4 bed and it still feels as though we're rattling around. You get used to being cramped, so it'll feel like a real luxury for you

Piffle - I feel so sorry for you, being rushed into hospital and having to sign that form. Its so nice to have you back well and safe and with baby kicking Take it really easy for a while until you recover from your op. (big hugs to you and bump)

Kittywits - how are you feeling today?
Rainbow - how are you?

I have to confess to never having done apelvic floor in my life. Consequently my bladder is like an old sock

TheBlonde - do you think its too late to start?

I'd love to have my chin, tummy and thighs tucked, as well as my pelvic floor tightened

I'd look great then!

blimey Piffle, what an ordeal - you poor old thing. Makes my miserable week of tummy bug and cold look like a spa holiday! So glad it went ok and babe is well.

Foxie - I work in the private sector, have to say the maternity package we offer has since changed (downgraded) considerably. I think I am the last one or two on the super duper happy package. In a way, the govt increasing statutory minimum makes companies less enthuisastic about upgrading or enhancing mat benefit, so we win and lose at the same time

Evenhope - well done for getting your MATB1 changed! Lovely midwife!

So glad its the weekend all..... going to SLEEP as much as possible and do SOD all. Bugger the chores.

Good luck Diva - hope the move, packing and general house move goes ok. Remember to pack a happy box with teabags, kettle and yummy eats (I also used to pack a bottle of wine and opener.. but hey ho)

Welcome kittynoodle - you and I have our babies at the same time

Fox, thanks for asking, a little better, but still pretty 'flat' iykwim.
It's never too late to start the old squeezes

Diva, when will you move then, will they be quite lenient about that? That thread was great, I must confess that I was taken in for a short while, well I decided to give give them the benefit of the doubt even thought it was a bit suspect.

Welcome noodlekitty , we'd better not get the names confused!!

Glad you're settled in back home piffle, it must have been a very
scary situation and that's just the mad old lady

What does everyone think of the name KEIR? I quite like it. I already have a KAI though, still don't think it would be that confusing do you?

Noodlekitty welcome - put yourself on our stats thread for march - we are seriously lacking in little pink bundles at the moment!

Where is the hamster thread?

Report
Noodlekitty · 10/11/2006 13:10

I just had a quick look at the hamster thread...was she actually serious? Thats got to be the most insane thing I've ever read! lol.

I'll go have a wee looky for the stats thread.

Thanks for the welcomes! Great to be talking to people at the same stage as me, or who are even pregnant at all! Most of my mates are confirmed singletons, or very, very anti-baby, so its nice to meet some positive bodies!

Rosy - have been thiking about cstard arts all day

DD 3 just climbed up several shelves in the kitchen and "stole" down the box of bakewell tart slices. She brought two up to me - one each

I have a real weakness for custard tarts though!

Kittywits - Keir is nice (sounds celtic). What happened to "onnie" - has your mum decided she likes it?

Hamster thread, what hamster thread??

....read the hamster thread last night and it actually gave me the weirdest dreams!!!

have a nice weakend all!!!

Piffle - glad to see that you are well enough again to be online!! Felt very bad that I had been complaining about heartburn and stomach cramps when you were postop without proper painrelief! Get well quickly!

Report

You are not kidding Eva, have to be honest Piffle - have thought of you all day, and wondered how the hell you coped. I hate pain and would deffo been screaming for them painkilling drugs. Very very loudly.

I up you guys on Custard Tarts - its gotto be Carrot Cake - Tesco's Finest.

mind you ANYTHING with custard on right now makes the grade. I do believe I have finally got a craving ! So Carrot Cake AND custard is truly hog heaven.

Kitty - I think that name sounds great, but I prefer Ronnie

Kitty, I like Keir, its lovely. Quite close sounding to Kai. How are you with muddling up the childrens names? I am an expert

Fox I don't think we have waitrose here, have to settle for tescos tarts.

Onilly, my sister makes the most sumptuous decadent carrot cake....yummmm

Kitty - I like Keir too. Unusual without sounding too self-conciously different IYSWIM.

Piffle - glad you're back home and safe. Did they give you the miscarriage stats before the op? Hope not. I mean, you had to have the operation anyway: the last thing you need is extra stress. Hope you're healing well, and your SPD isn't playing up too much.

Welcome Noodlekitty! Congrats on your little girl. I'm another one with a boy in the oven (found out yesterday). Jealous of you living in Scotland. We stayed near Plockton this August - what a fantastic place.

Onilly: you're being very brave about your stalker. I'd be jelly. Glad he's been caught and you're safe.

Fatfox: I had custard tart yesterday. We went for lunch in the pub across the park, and the cook had just baked up a fresh batch. Good god, they were good....

Kitty: sorry to hear you're still feeling flat. Are you getting your daily chocolate quotient? Don't let it slide. That hamster thread was very funny: I had tears rolling down my face. Didn't have time to read it all: I take it it was a joke?

Diva: good luck with your move!

Bought little Jonny his first present today. It's a set of finger puppets in the shape of different nursery rhyme characters. They're for me really...

Hi again
Sitting down in the one thing that doesn't hurt tbh.
Yes I knew that risk before the op as I had to sign consent for it.
Grim...
Thank God (and I say that as an agnostic) that my baby seems to be ok.
I'm sure with tiem and rest I'll be fine - I had serious surgery exactly 2 yrs ago for ruptured ectopic so know what to do... sadly.
Honestly by the time this baby comes out, the trials and tribulations in order to get the little sausage, will make a fine tale...

Boo - thanks... Lucky the police were on it, and the bloke was a low grade stalker ! Thinking about it now - he was trying to sell my Blackberry etc, god knows who would have ended up with my details. Certainly made me far more vigilant, if not a little paranoid

Your puppets sound too cute.

Rosy - Noooo, I was planning to do SOD all this weekend, will NOW have to dig out Delia's carrot cake recipe which is a mammoth bake, but truly delicious.... at sister that can bake.

ewwww custard tarts.ive got a thing for apple pie atm but you still cant beat a new bath sponge

found out its goint to cost around £70-£80 for removals so we would be able to move from a finacial point of view next week, but the house needs 3 carpets, and this house needs packing and the removal company need booking.

Diva

Why don't you set a date say 10 days from Monday and go carpet shopping this weekend? I bet they could fit them within 10 days? We always use CarpetRight.

I'm off to see our MP in sec, to see if she can help sort out our tax credits mess

We have a local MN meet up tonight as well, in a noodle bar Shame I can't get drunk!!

Somehing really weird keep shappening to MN on my PC. All key words in posts come up as links and he whole thing keeps crashing. Is it just me??

Lunar - any masks left ?? I am back in SriLanka now so would be happy to pay the additional postage ??

Piffle so glad to see you back and that the baby is kicking (if a bit painfully.) Sounds like you have a very supportive family around you.

Diva - glad the house seems to be coming together. I moved into my first home with no carpets for about 6 months - just couldn't afford it back then . Ended up sanding the floors and having rugs (less stains.)

Booo - great another boy .. and welcome to Noodle with your pink one.

During my week back to get the boys my mum made an apple crumble and 2 treacle steam puddings . Rock on
