Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 27th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 42nd outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oLJqpadAb2givKYq8OJfGCti3s6xzsTGlI-GoaBfM_M/edit?pli=1#gid=0

Is it any good La?

Just be aware that you may not see much of those friends for a while Looking. I have some friends who go off the radar a bit for the first 6-12 months when I have to cart a baby round with me everywhere.

Lookingforadvice123 · 04/05/2015 14:07

Agreed la, and you never know when the time is going to be right for you. If you'd told me four months ago I'd be pregnant now, I don't think I'd have believed you, the brood ones happened quite suddenly for me as I'm not naturally maternal.

wil I actually only see them about once every six months as we live all over (friends from uni). They're great and all made a big effort to see each other when we arrange a reunion, hence why I went yesterday even though I didn't want to with the not drinking situation. So when I see that particular group after baby is born I imagine it will be something I do solo rather than baby in tow! I would hate to turn into a mum who never goes to social events as they don't want to leave the baby anyway Grin

Science museum was good! Very geeky but me and dh are geeks so it was ideal. Freaked myself out taking photo of 30 week bump next to life size model of a 32 week foetus.

For your viewing pleasure!

I never wanted children before I met DH 3 years ago. Or at least that's what I told myself. I think secretly I'd just never met anyone that I wanted that commitment to. I never wanted them with my ex that's for sure Angry

Been to boots for free changing bag, bought a cute elephant hooded towel and some neutral babygros with elephants on too Smile

Also had a mooch around mothercare and looked at my pram again Smile

I'm the only one in my group of friends (school) who has children. I do see less of them, but i've also moved from my home area, where most of them have gone back after university etc. Two of them got married last year, and one is deffo wanting children.

DD1 asked her last week, when she popped by, 'so when are you going to have a baby then?'
Had to explain that we dont ask people things like that..... But she is only 5 1/2. Friend didnt take it very well, so Im assuming things arent going to plan with ttc.
Went to see consultant on friday, bp has risen from 90/60 last week to 120/80 with a trace of protein in urine. Trying to take it easy, but not that easy with 3 DCs and DH!
Have started to pack a hosp bag. Seeing mw on wednesday, a little worried about the outcome, supposed to work for untill 20th of may (I work mon, tues and 1/2 day wed)and mat leave should start june 1rst (a perk of being a teacher, mat leave starts after Whitsun holiday)

Hobbit19 · 04/05/2015 16:53

Eep Cymraes, but even though your BP has risen so much is is still perfectly normal no? 3 DCS, teaching AND you are supposed to be 'taking it easy' ha ha ha funny joke. So glad it is only a four day week this week!

Fattycow · 04/05/2015 16:53

I went swimming today and it was so nice. I spent quite some time just floating around with the support of two pool noodles. Lovely to have the water lift the bump weight for a bit. Smile

Cym - I'm not surprised your bp has risen! Is there any way you could finish up early if the mw thinks it would be best?

I've got loads of friends with children - one year 21 friends had babies. But they are in different groups, some groups have loads and others are still mostly single or not ready for children yet. I've always tried hard to make sure I don't leave out those with children - we meet up regularly in child-friendly places, because I know it can be isolating when your friends no longer invite you!

Fatty - I thought at first that you'd gone swimming with Pot Noodles. Had to read your post twice!

I love swimming but hate public swimming pools so I've not been since pregnant.

What, no private changing rooms? Shock

We have two bigs rooms for men, two big rooms for women and loads of private cubicles! Our pool is usually quiet, as there isn't much to do in there. Just a big pool with a diving board that is only open at certain times and a small pool with a slide that also only opens at certain times. So not much fun for teens. When I went, there were a bunch (about a dozen) of elderly people and 2 young kids with their mum and dad.

splodge77 · 04/05/2015 17:38

I'd love to go swimming but I was too tight to buy a maternity swimsuit & my tankini is too obscene now I'm 41 weeks! I wonder what's happened to mini moo?!! Hope all is ok. I keep getting wind which is quite painful & making me panicked that labour is starting!! Can't work out what I'm eating that is making me so farty! Ugh I want this baby ooooouuuutt!!!

Lookingforadvice123 · 04/05/2015 17:40

I see you're a fellow Welshie Cymraes! Where abouts are you from? I'm based in South Wales.

Cymraes17 · 04/05/2015 17:53

I'm up north looking.
If mw thinks I should take time off early, then so be it. I'd rather carry on till half term, but baby comes first.
Had an afternoon of painting and play dough! All 3 have had a bath and dinner is on the way. They are dancing whilst I make it. DH has been writing something for a work project, so hopefully he will come down stairs in a bit to tidy the paint box and dough. (They live on top of the fridge, and apparently Im not allowed to put them back on my own)

Fleurchamp · 04/05/2015 18:19

I am the last of my school friends to have a baby. The eldest of those will be 11 this year and off to senior school!

None of my DH's friends have children yet and they are all pushing 40.

Horses for courses.

Purpleball · 04/05/2015 18:20

I'm definitely a latecomer at 41, my friends all have older children those that have them anyway.

Thanks la how are you getting on working through the list?

Hobbit19 · 04/05/2015 19:04

To possibly add to the list (because it's not long enough already I'm scared of the list) my friend has a 4 week old and has a snugglebundl, it was on dragons den apparently, she thinks it is awesome and was definitely really handy even just when she was here for the morning. Going to buy one to post out to my friends in NZ as they are expecting imminently. Highly recommend.

Fattycow · 04/05/2015 19:12

A thing to remember about the lists: you can buy most things later on. It is not like back in the day when our grandmothers had to get things together. If you are out of, for instance, breast pads you can pop into the shop and buy some more. Or send someone else to go and pick up some yummy ice cream while they are out. Wink

LaLaLaaaa · 04/05/2015 19:21

fleur don't worry - I've not got everything if that's what you were thinking ;)

I have all the travel stuff because we started with the most expensive and vital stuff first. I've got about half the nursery list - we have the snuzpod and mattress, cot bed. Still need to sort chest of drawers and nursing chair but Mr La has a friend who restores furniture and is looking for them for us. picked up a few bits like swinging chair and gym mat at 2nd hand sales.

In the changing and health lists I have the creams, bags, cotton wool and Infacol because I've been putting one thing a week on the Tesco shop and using the Boots baby club offers. I've got half the feeding list - mostly donated from a friend and I'm using my Dream Genii pillow for a bf pillow as people told me it does the job fine. I've got a few bits and bobs of clothes, mostly donated from a friend. I was going to wait until nearer the time to see what people give us before buying many clothes as people tend to buy 0-3 months and you end up with too many.

Not done hospital bag at all yet, my dm is coming to stay in June and said we'll go shopping for it then so she'll help me. My friend gave me her old Tens machine.

I've got my eye on a Storksak changing bag but there's no way I can afford one so I'm hoping I'll get asked by people at work what I might need/want when I go on leave and can ask for vouchers towards it.

So there are still quite a few things to get but we've not got much money at the moment, so it'll have to wait til pay day!

How about you?

Fattycow · 04/05/2015 19:37

Re: changing bags.

You don't need a special changing bag. Any bag that is roomy will do. I have an overnight bag that will do just fine. One big area with a zip at the top, an area inside that shuts with velcro and the small areas on the front of the bag with zips again. Changing mat will go into the velcro bit, along with a small wash bag that has the wipes, a small tub of bum cream, a spare dummy if baby takes that, fresh breast pads for me, small plastic bags to put nappies in. In the big area will be nappies, spare clothes and toys. The two small areas at the front will hold my phone, wallet and keys.

Lemondrizzletwunt · 04/05/2015 19:56

Splodge mini can't come back to the iPad just yet because she's busy introducing Charlotte to Nanny Liz and trying to get loch out of her primrose and cream Jenny Packham Wink
