Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 27th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 42nd outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oLJqpadAb2givKYq8OJfGCti3s6xzsTGlI-GoaBfM_M/edit?pli=1#gid=0

P.S. Scan booked for 1st June. Reckon I'll be around 10 to 11 weeks then. Eep.

Jcandy · 14/05/2015 18:28

Same scan date as me pud Smile Don't worry symptoms can come and go so you may well be regretting saying that tomorrow!

OK so I'm really bloated..... Thinking back it's probably been a few days since I last went, maybe once in the last week and not that satisfactory I might add what are the recommendations?

Cym it's a difficult one, it could all turn out fine but then there's always the chance for it to go wrong. Not sure what to suggest but hope your Mil is understanding either way

Hobbit19 · 14/05/2015 18:57

Ooh Yey for the same scan day! Grin

Not sure how best to deal with your (ahem) blockage Jcandy, but I am keeping myself moving at the moment by eating two dates and two prunes before bed. Going most days which is good for me. Still massively bloated though, look ridiculously upduffed already!! I have IBS in real life which I deal with by eating a diet of about 70% vegetable. However that has gone right out of the window since I got upduffed but the IBS seems to have calmed down too, winner!

teejayem · 14/05/2015 18:59

Pepperminty things might help candy (Tea, cordial, etc) are all good wind dispatchers. If it's a poo-clear you need, then I'd recommend Lactulose, which was a lifesaver when I was ahem, blocked. You need to drink plenty of water with it or it won't work, and def don't take before you have plans! :D

gaggiagirl · 14/05/2015 18:59

cym no. Just no. You would be so uncomfortable! Ouch.

mountaingirl01 · 14/05/2015 19:25

Oh cym no! Surely she should understand you not wanting to go then?! It's nuts!

JC try prune juice? I found it generally the best un blocker.. although I recently took some alternative vit pills that my sister had left over and they certainly stopped any blockage! If it gets desperate try a caffeinated drink?
I wish I could say the fatigue gets better but I'm afraid at 22w I now feel worse than ever, maybe the glucose test will show something. Work is pretty tough at the moment.

Hr people tee/purple.. when should I be thinking about breaching the subject about returning part time? Is this something I leave for further into Mat leave?

Pisghetti · 14/05/2015 19:37

I've been wondering that too Mountain although I'd need to broach it with MrP first.....

ChatEnOeuf · 14/05/2015 19:45

I had a meeting with our head of school at 16w, Mountain. She wanted to know EDD, how long I wanted off and if I'd be returning FT or LTFT. There was some issue with placements if I wanted to return LTFT outside of the two usual changeover days, but no issue for FT. There were gaps on most rotas, but it was made clear that I'd have greater choice about where I'd be working if I picked an August return date. Which is what I wanted, but still...

Purpleball · 14/05/2015 20:13

Gosh you've all be chatty today Smile

Your employer isn't obliged to agree to part time working but has to consider the request. I gave my manager 3 options and she picked the best one for her. Nothing set in stone yet though. You have to give them a months notice of your return to work. I would suggest agreeing part time before then if you need to sort childcare out. They can say no but not many do fortunately

Tee, hope MrTee gets his act together. I think he's going to get a shock when tinyTee arrives.

Cym, I'd say no to travel that close. Bit different for me as I'm probably having an ELCS at 38 weeks but even so I won't be going far from 36 weeks onwards. Fortunately MrPurple is less than an hour away if he's in the office.

JC I found increasing my fruit intake helped. My IBS is loads better since being pregnant though Smile I daresay it won't last afterwards though

Hurray for scan twins Pud and JC Smile

I have more energy lately than I had towards the end of first tri. I still have a nap whenever I get an opportunity, especially if I've done a lot of walking.

Achy bump is my latest thing if I've walked a lot, is this normal?

Purpleball · 14/05/2015 20:19

Sorry for the multiple posts, I have the memory of a fish!

Dulcet I was wondering that too. I've planned some classes but how do I go from that to making friends? It's like being at school again. I'm having flashbacks of being Billy no mates

Hobbit19 · 14/05/2015 20:28

Ahem, let's not use the words 'twins' and 'scan' in the same sentence Purple! Although secretly I might think that would be awesome. DH would shit his pants.

Interesting that your IBS is better too Purple, I am hoping that pregnancy is going to make my body undergo so many changes that it will forget about the IBS afterwards. Grin

Jcandy · 14/05/2015 20:42

Yeah that's my issue I think. I've completely gone off fruit and whenever I eat vegetables (or anything healthy) I vomit. My liquid intake is also terrible, I'm trying but it's so hard when anything more than a sip makes me more nauseous. Think I'm having about 1.2 litres a day but the vomiting probably gets rid of some of that. I'll give your suggestions a go though

Lookingforadvice123 · 14/05/2015 20:45

So sorry you're still poorly jcandy, please don't go back to work next week!

cymraes don't do it!!! I'm from Cardiff but have family in Powys, the drive alone through all the blinkin remote country parts (can you tell I'm a city girl!) is enough to make me sick pre-pregnancy, so I wouldn't be doing it at 6 weeks let alone 37! Especially as this isn't your first is it so it may come bang on time or even early.

pud is that your "12 week" scan you'll be having at 10 or 11 weeks? Is that the earliest they do them, I know it's within a range rather than bang on 12 weeks, im hoping to have mine ASAP as I'm very anxious and we've decided against a private scan (not a money issue, more an after care issue in case something's not right). I'm having my midwife appointment when I'm 8 weeks exactly so hoping I can book my scan in for around 11. Does anyone know the range they do them?

Positive news today, dh's cousin who I get on really well with has announced she's 12 weeks so not too far ahead of me Grin just wish I could tell her and ask her advice now!

Hobbit19 · 14/05/2015 21:00

Hi Looking, it is my 12 week scan, but as I have long cycles MW had me down as being 12-13 weeks at the time, which is great for me! You could always talk to your MW about it if you are v anxious.

Lookingforadvice123 · 14/05/2015 21:06

Great that's definitely a pro of long cycles!

I don't technically have a midwife yet my appointment with her is a week monday, can't wait! I think leaflet I got given says the "12 week" scan is between 11-14 weeks so I'm hoping I can have mine bang on 11 weeks which will be 15th June, still so long away!

Purpleball · 14/05/2015 21:14

Pud I'm hoping so but the downside is piles Sad

OP posts:
Hobbit19 · 14/05/2015 21:16

Gees I can't imagine waiting until 14 weeks!!

0h no Purple, not good!

teejayem · 14/05/2015 21:17

Think purple has covered it, mointain but in our place, it's assumed you'll take the full year off, and we send a written reminder about 8 weeks before the end date inviting the employee in to meet to discuss flexible working requests if they haven't done so already, lots of people have the convo before they go off, but we don't guarantee arrangements until closer to the time. All requests are received and considered , and most of the time are granted, although our business is not massively into PT, so we try and compromise with home working days. But then we aren't very progressive, which is daft given the industry! My last place retention was hugely important, to the point you'd be awarded a lump sum if you came back to work and stayed for a year. Oh well!

No goodies yet dulce delivery isn't till tomorrow, but rest assured, there are eclairs and lots of cheese :)

ChatEnOeuf · 14/05/2015 21:25

JC I had terrible fluid intake in the early weeks - the only thing that helped was things being wither icy cold or so hot they would scald DH!

My bump protests if I walk too much, carry too much, generally does anything remotely active Purple. I'm living in the deluded hope that this means I will have a baby who sleeps. Don't burst my bubble, any of you!

Hobbit19 · 14/05/2015 21:38

Gah, I still feel full from dinner but also hungry to the point of nausea. What is that all about?! At least I can snack on cereals in the evening. But not in the morning, oh no. Pregnancy is weird.

Purpleball · 14/05/2015 21:49

I think the baby is taking up food room. I had the same thing Pud. I ate little and often which seemed to work. Current problem is that all my organs seemed to have squashed my diaphragm and I get out of breath very quickly. My bladder capacity is that of a walnut these days too Sad
I need to stop moaning, I've got another 17 weeks to go!

OP posts:
DulcetMoans · 14/05/2015 22:08

That is tough cym as you could be absolutely fine and wonder why you avoided it. I guess the plus side is that labour takes a while and the longest you would go between towns/villages is probably half an hour so you wouldn't be without help for long. Just make sure the car is in good nick - There's patches in Ceredigion where I can't even get radio, let alone phone!

That is exactly how my nausea came about pud - feel sick, don't want to eat but only feel better when eating. Just little snacks nearby all the time.

I think at NCT they swap all the contact details at the end so you keep in touch that way purple but no idea how they would do it at NHS. I've been to a couple of those and people don't chat. Went to water birth one today and there's just not that opportunity.

Mine does that chat, achy evening if I did lots in the day. Didn't think that would mean a sleepy baby but I like the idea!

So, these eclairs you get tee, are the real or synthetic cream?

teejayem · 14/05/2015 22:24

Real cream dulcet. At the moment Marks and Sparks seem to be the best, the chocolate element is like a thick fondant, the choux pastry is light... It's a shame they don't deliver, I inhaled the two I bought there yesterday within minutes. On the upside, tesco have boxed cream cakes on a 2 for £2 offer so I can get double the amount :) think I ordered a box of eclairs, and a box of cream slices. I need to make them last though. Well. Longer than 36hours.
