Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 27th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 42nd outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oLJqpadAb2givKYq8OJfGCti3s6xzsTGlI-GoaBfM_M/edit?pli=1#gid=0

Mini- gorgeous name (can't see the pic on the phone app but I'm sure she's gorgeous too)
Pixie- love your chosen name too!

Thanks all for advice re. Wedding. I'll be 29 weeks. I think we'll look for parking nearby and hope for the best. I'm sure I'll be in flat shoes by then!

Ga- my midwife failed to notice the mini bump I am so proud of at the moment too! I was offended!

Wil- I've heard the same about jumpers/bouncers etc- basically anything that encourages baby to put feet down and get into a standing position before he/she is ready to do so is fairly discouraged I think. I think it's because baby will stand when ready, going through normal stages of development, and if not ready to do so then it could lead to poorly developed muscles etc. - obv if used for prolonged periods of time. But we plan to avoid anything like that. Same with bumbo seats!

Indigoblue2 · 12/05/2015 18:32

Aww mini great to hear from you. Sounds quite distressing but fantastic you are on the mend and everything now ok. Enjoy her x

Indigoblue2 · 12/05/2015 18:35

could awesome to hear from you too! Sounds like your coping really well and the pregnancy insomnia is well and truly history! I love hearing from the graduated grads Smile

Fleurchamp · 12/05/2015 19:10

Had wc vaccine today and now feel all coldy Sad is that normal?

Was interviewing for my replacement today. I have my heart set on one lady who is ideally looking for 2/3 days a week but would consider short term FT maternity cover. She would be a great hire (and a coup in our local area as she has a great reputation and would bring clients with her) and we could job share when I return. Just need to convince the bosses now (they want someone cheaper).

couldntbebothered · 12/05/2015 19:10

Hi mini, congratulations but sorry you had a bad time. I have no back pain but I'm 3 weeks on now and did struggle early on to keep upright - thus more aches and pains. Breastfeeding has thankfully been no trouble, I did skin to skin for as much as possible in the first few days which seemed to help. If sore then you can feed lying down, have you tried that? Also cushion over your scar if feeding sitting up so baby is not lying on it. Getting out of bed is much much easier after the first couple of weeks, I promise!

WilHarlot · 12/05/2015 19:45

Great to hear from you Mini. I may have fb stalked you a little to check all was ok - sorry about that! How scary for you all. I used to feed lying down after first birth as was too sore to sit up. Kind of lay on side with feeding boob at the bottom and perched baby on its side too. How do you pronounce her name? Is it Eh-meena or Eh-min-ey or neither of above?!

Toast if you want to avoid such things i advise you never place your baby in a jumperoo. Because once you see the delight on their little face, you will be compelled to buy one.

Toast85 · 12/05/2015 20:28

Good point Wil! Didn't think about that...

gaggiagirl · 12/05/2015 20:30

Oh mini so pleased to hear from you. I'm sorry you had a tough time I'm also sorry for facebook stalking your husband we were so worried about you.
Your girl is beautiful. Congratulations!.

Fattycow · 12/05/2015 21:13

mini, your little girl is gorgeous! Glad to hear you are on the mend yourself as well! xxx

Purpleball · 12/05/2015 21:38

I need to catch up and view in a browser to see baby pics.

I think my centre of gravity is off. DH just beat me at pool 4:0

Today we've had the curse of the missing panty liner. I put one in my pants this morning, tonight it's gone. I know not where. In one of the loos at the lost gardens of heligan probably Blush

Great to see you mini! And meet minimini - so glad it's all worked out well, even if it was horrific. Hope you can forget it and enjoy the experience more.

How's your arm fleur? I still can't lay on mine and it's lazy. Not really got cold symptoms though but I have come to bed and felt a bit sicky. Not sure it's related.

How was presentation la?

Never heard any of that about bouncers etc wil. That's not the same as a bouncy chair though, right? Is it the feet thing like toast says?

Centre of gravity does change purple, daily! But then I won at pool recently which is unusual so could go either way!

PixieChops · 12/05/2015 22:15

Lol Purple! That sounds like a fun activity!
So glad you're ok mini and sorry you've had a shitty time. I'm still hoping for an ELCs after the immense shitty time I had with DD.
I am petrified of having one though at the same time Confused
Ga that kipper drawer sounds perfect. Bunch of twunts!

I've been in that much pain due to heavy legs and SPD that me and OH haven't DTD in almost 3 weeks!!! It's usually once a week at least! It's so shit because my bump is just getting enormous and soon he'll go all weird anyway as he thinks he'll hurt baby. Going to have to rip his clothes off tomorrow whether I'm tired and achey or not. It's just such an effort.

Purpleball · 12/05/2015 22:21

lol at kipper drawer Smile

Mini she's gorgeous, well done you. Hope you're recovering ok. Love the name too Smile

Fleur hope you get the replacement. Work are currently recruiting mine. It takes a good 6 months to train them and I'm not going to be much help if I'm working at home from July. Plus they sacked someone last week. So they'll be down to 1 if they don't get someone soon. I've offered to do some KIT days but not til January

I managed to bloody burn today. Decided it was too cold for suncream then the bloody sun came out and it was scorching for quite a while!

Ach I'd take it all with a pinch of salt Dulcet. General physio advice seems to be to avoid anything which takes the baby's time away from floor time. I can't imagine bouncer chairs do much damage although I suppose you're putting them in a sitting position before they're developmentally ready for it. But in reality, babies get grumpy really quickly lying on the floor and you have to have somewhere to put them. The thing with bouncers and walkers are that they promote tiptoe walking and tightening of hamstrings (I think) and bad posture. Also apparently the toys on jumperoos and walkers, stop babies seeing their feet which is important for some reason (clearly I'm not a physio Grin ). They are said to delay gross motor development. But when you're a parent, you're told everything is dangerous for your children, so I think the important thing is just to be sensible and if you want to use things, just don't leave them sitting in them for ages. Another thing i didn't know before having babies is how bad it is for their feet to wear shoes before they can walk properly. Honestly, there is literally nothing you can do guilt free other than let them roll about barefoot in reusable nappies wearing a fairtrade cotton babygro and playing with inanimate objects made from natural materials.

deeplybaffled · 12/05/2015 22:38

Lovely to hear from mini and could and hope that all goes well from now on!
are there any experienced viroids who can offer any advice about bottles / breast pumps / sterilisers? Hoping to breastfeed if i can, but have been warned by friends that it's as well to be prepared with some alternatives in case things don't pan out as I'd like - or if i want dh to do some feeds, which is quite likely :)
Are there any products you would recommend - or recommend to avoid? Unfortunately, i am the control freak's control freak, so just trying to prepare for all permutations, on the basis that I'd rather spend a little on it now and buy some peace of mind!

LaLaLaaaa · 12/05/2015 22:40

Evening viroids!

Mini she is adorable! I love her name, welcome little Emmie Grin. I'm so sorry you've had such a horrible time, please do feel that you can talk about it if you want to.

Fleur it's good you've found someone suitable can you put business case in for the job share?

Presentation went really well and I met some lovely people. Train down was fine, got chatting to a lovely lady about her grandchildren she was getting all excited for me and baby.

Dh cooked an amazing tea and then spent the evening feeling baby movements. They are much more pronounced now and he loves it.

Yes to bump updates! Where are they all? Cmon gals!

Chat my friend in Brussels posted photo of the new m&s. Have you been yet?

JC do you have to decide now about night out? You might be feeling ok so may be happy to stay longer, you never know. I managed a party til 2am recently other nights I'm in bed at 9pm

Could! Fantastic to hear from you too Grin glad you're getting on well and recovered from your cs.

Ha! Wil your description of ideal parenting made me laugh! I've got a bouncer - my friends wee one loves her bumbo at 2 months old.

Ga yes to kippers!

Pixie 3 weeks! Shock We've not done it since about 20 weeks. I feel like such a bad wife!!!! I'm 31 weeks today

Purpleball · 12/05/2015 22:53

Wil that's interesting. My nephew will lie on the floor for ages but I always think he's safer in a bouncy chair or bumbo cos no one stands on him! We've been offered both when he's done with them. I think it's whatever keeps them occupied and is a safe place to put them.
La I'm glad your trip went well and you're back home safely Smile

Deeply I saw a breastfeeding starter kit in mothercare. We've been offered a steriliser too, so I think those combined will do us.
We will be giving the baby a bottle once it's 3 weeks old, once a day at the most, based on Wils advice so I'll need to express or have some formula in. It's so the baby gets used to bottles and means I can leave it for a few hours without it refusing to feed. And so I can have a night out or get my hair cut or just get some sleep!

Gaggia - your colleagues sound like they belong in a playground. definitely second the advice of writing things down and then complaining to hr or equivalent with evidence. (but the kippers idea made me smile!)

deeplybaffled · 12/05/2015 22:56

purple - that's pretty much what i was thinking. Thanks for the mothercare tip -will explore. ;) all other handy hints gratefully received too.

Jcandy · 12/05/2015 23:01

I have to decide because of paying for the cocktail making. The person that's organising it is going to check if they don't mind me just tagging along and not paying since I won't actually be drinking anything. Then I've got the choice to stay out or not and I won't have paid any extra.

Great to hear from you mini and could Smile

gaggiagirl · 12/05/2015 23:05

deeply tommee tippee from the supermarket baby events should be your go to for 'just in case' feeding. Prices and quality are excellent. Pumps, bottle, sterilization stuff and breast pads too. Get a couple of cartons of ready made formula too for just in case.
My milk didn't come in properly at first so I gave DD an emergency bottle of formula one night and was so glad I had the stuff in the house.

gaggiagirl · 12/05/2015 23:10

Oh I'm not back in the office til Friday now but I'm going to make a note of everything. I'm really not one that's much bothered by twats but I feel so exposed and vulnerable if that makes sense. And like fleur said they are appraising my appearance to my actual face. It feels awful. Cant wait to kipper the bitch.

LaLaLaaaa · 13/05/2015 05:45

Ga I think the best word for these people is wankbadgers. They've no right to make you feel uncomfortable.

I've been woken up by what feels like mild period pain. I'm 31 weeks. Has anyone else had this? Should I be concerned? Best way to describe it is that dull twisty uterus ache you get when your period is starting. I thought perhaps I needed a poo as it's quite similar to that feeling.

I wonder if I've overdone it a bit with my long journey yesterday. Bump feels tired and achy. Got another big presentation at work today :(

Totally unrelated - today is due date of my lost baby. It's a date that was etched on my mind for four weeks in September when I thought I'd be having a baby in May. It's funny that now I don't feel like I can mark it at all. It'll just pass without anyone knowing. Now I know that baby didn't develop properly but at the time that little bean meant the world to me. I remember going to Barcelona and us talking excitedly to my tummy and me not drinking all the nice wine to protect him. Thinking of my little squishy bean today ??

batfish · 13/05/2015 05:49

Aww la it doesn't matter if nobody else knows - you are remembering your baby and that's what matters, hope it isn't too sad a day for you. Thanks No idea about the pains I'm afraid but if they don't ease off then give your midwife a call.
