Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 27th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 42nd outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oLJqpadAb2givKYq8OJfGCti3s6xzsTGlI-GoaBfM_M/edit?pli=1#gid=0

we spent a good while with fish fingers for dh and crunchy nut cornflakes for me.

mountaingirl01 · 05/05/2015 20:37

JC sending unmumsnetty hugs your way, sounds pretty awful. Hopefully seeing your lo tomorrow will make it easier to bear.

toast I'm buying a second hand travel system, including the car seat although it's from s friend and I know where the car seat has been. I would have bought a second hand pram from s stranger quite happily though. Just make sure you look into what your getting etc as it could end up more expensive (my sis bought a second hand pram/carry cot but after buying new car seat and adapters etc didn't make a huge saving).

Exercise, I continued to run/cycle/hill walk/ski right up till I couldn't physicslly. With the bike this was only a couple of weeks ago, but I just got to the stage that I felt so awful afterwards it wasn't worth it and I felt incredibly guilty that I could be hurting the baby. That said, I don't do things by halves- my idea of a gentle ride is 20ish miles at 17mph. I have really struggled with having to give up exercise, as it is a huge part of my and dh's life and it has meant spending less time with him and friends- I also didn't realise how much I relied on exercise for my mental well being. That said, this baby is the most important thing right now and if I have to cope with being an incubator for the next few months..so be it.
I have just entered the ballot for next years London marathon.

Sorry you've had worrying appointments today tori and chat. What was the mini one up to purple?
gaggia I'm jealous, they wouldn't listen to heartbeat at my 16w! Although I have bought a doppler.

The wax thing I get, but tidying?! That's just a bit weird.

gaggiagirl · 05/05/2015 20:53

mountain it was a galloping horse sounding heart beat which means a girl! It must be fact!

KatoPotato · 05/05/2015 21:10

Maybe they don't want women to feel pressured into having a neat fanjo at all? I can't see down there anymore anyway

Hobbit19 · 05/05/2015 21:28

Urgh JCandy that sounds horrible. I am constantly nauseous but aware that it could be so much worse as I am not being sick. How are you managing with work? I don't normally do fizzy drinks but I am loving the San pelligrino fizzy fruit juice cans at the mo. I am finding that want I want/need to eat/can face keeps changing but water and fruit seem to be a staple. Some people do start to feel better after 8 weeks so everything crossed for you. Have you talked to your mw about it?

Purpleball · 05/05/2015 21:40

Mountain I'm drinking a lot of fizzy plain water.

For anyone with morning sickness I found it really helps.

We've not been offered a travel system and my parents are buying it. That said we are planning to get the slight second one that is £200 cheaper. Hopefully the inlaws will help with some stuff.

I've got £120 of high street vouchers that can be used in mothercare. I got them for recommending people to the company that did my PPI reclaim. So they will buy a car seat or an isofix base for it

I'm debating turning down the free cot. I had my heart set on a cot bed and matching changer. I'm probably being silly to turn it down but it's 6th hand and I feel a bit funny about it. Not sure why and I haven't broached with DH yet

Mountain, i know what you mean about exercise and mental health. I didnt do as much as you seem to have done, but used to run once or twice a week or play league badminton - and i do miss it. Its not just the exercise, but the company and the structure that I miss as well, i think.
trying to keep up my walking at least, but struggling with back issues and have a most fetching lycra and velco support belt :)
But determined to keep active for as long as i can, if only to justify my sweet tooth habits ....

Jcandy · 05/05/2015 21:56

I'm still going to work pud but not managing a full day. Need to speak to my manager about it really to check they are ok with it but the only other option is for me to go off sick so surely this is better for them! I don't see the midwife till next week but if it's still bad then I'll see what she suggests. I'm finding squash is best with either still or sparkling water. Though sparkling makes me burp more which sometimes isn't helpful........

Hobbit19 · 05/05/2015 22:20

Oh bless you, hope your manager is understanding. I have read that any time off for pregnancy does not go on your absence record, not sure if that is true or not. Really hope you start to feel better soon. Flowers

Lemondrizzletwunt · 06/05/2015 02:49

JC have you tried Canada Dry ginger ale? That, semi flat, worked a dream for me, and still does. I am weird though, so it may just be me, and I know what works for one person just makes another feel boak.

I got to the point that because I didn't want to eat anything because I couldn't face the idea I was actually making myself worse, so have Tesco's own oatcakes other brands are available stashed all over the house, and eat a quarter biscuit at a time. The food hitting your stomach makes you feel instantly better- in my case, anyway.

Oh, and boiled sweets.

Good luck and Flowers

Jcandy · 06/05/2015 06:37

No lemon I haven't but it's worth a try! I'd take anything to make me feel better at the moment. Yeah little and often food is good. Though dp forgot to buy crackers when I asked him to yesterday. I think I held it together well when I found out I had none left, after I'd left the room! Scan today.....

Hobbit19 · 06/05/2015 06:46

Gx for your scan today JCandy

Niffertiti · 06/05/2015 07:17

Good luck for scan candy. Gx.

I've been told salt and vinegar flavour ricecakes are the thing... It sounds miserable but probably does mean your body is doing its thing.

Niffertiti · 06/05/2015 07:24

Thanks for all the exercise advice. The deep exhaustion has hit again so I expect I'll mostly be asleep... I go mental if I don't exercise too. I might try a gentle jog at some point but try and remember not to push myself.

LaLaLaaaa · 06/05/2015 07:25

Will catch up properly later just want to say good luck to JC!

Rice cakes, ginger nuts, a banana in the morning and water for MS

Hi niff!

Hobbit19 · 06/05/2015 07:51

Niff I am with you on the exhaustion front. The nausea is manageable for me but the exhaustion is crippling! At least it is only a 4 day week this week.

teejayem · 06/05/2015 08:01

Sparkling water with a slice of lemon, plain hula hoops and bovril on toast were my all fucking day MS staples. I still really like the fizzy water and lemon now but it gives me sodding heartburn, I found anything to fatty or acidic really set me off, although I went mad for fresh orange at one point, which is what I usually go to when I feel hungover, and to me early pregnancy felt just like one big hangover. Like i'd been partying with Mötley Crüe all night but with none of the good photos to show for it Hmm
If you are unwell with pregnancy related stuff you can't be penalised at work for it - just make sure if you are signed off that the GP writes in your certificate that you are pregnant and they can't touch you - don't feel bad about being signed off either, you won't get any hero points for dragging yourself into work feeling like absolute shit, they won't thank you for it! In my experience GPs are more than willing to sign you off when PG anyway, I went in expecting a fight and mine was lovely about it and said its not recognised what a huge strain being up the duff can be, esp with working FT.

Good luck with the scan JC!

WilHarlot · 06/05/2015 08:13

How are you feeling Tee?

First trimester exhaustion is awful. I'd actually say on a par with new baby exhaustion.

ChatEnOeuf · 06/05/2015 08:28

Mini cheddars were my go-to MS relief. And eating little and often. And something that resembled tangfastics for on the trains. Fizzy stuff helped me release some of the bloat which also helped sometimes. Good luck for scan!

ChatEnOeuf · 06/05/2015 08:33

La, the undergrads are talking about you...they need some vit B complex advice Smile

KatoPotato · 06/05/2015 08:59

Like a b6, like a b6! I think I got my bfp the first month I took it!

KatoPotato · 06/05/2015 09:00

Lemon is completely right, as hard as it is, you will find you feel instantly better as soon as something hits your stomach! For me it was marks and Spencer salted square crisps!

LaLaLaaaa · 06/05/2015 09:44

Morning you ice-cream obsessed lot!

I had two Magnums last night. Dh refused to buy pink ones for me - LTB?

How's the ankle tee?

I'm not trusting bf as contraception - that's how my mate ended up with 4 children under 3. She conceived number 4 when the twins she was bf were 4 months old! I don't want to go back on the pill because I blame the pill for why it took us so long to conceive at first - af took 3-4 months to come back. I want to have another baby after a year or so, therefore need to be on something more flexible.

tori 7lb is a great weight - I'm so sorry that your mlu might be at an end :( Hope you're feeling a bit better about it all today.

gaggia so lovely to hear hb! Hooray! Mine sounded like a train and I'm having a DS so I do think you're onto something with the galloping horse!

chat really sorry you're worrying - knowing too much really can be a curse sometimes. You've still got time though for baby to turn, can you start doing some vigorous cleaning on hands and knees? We learned some exercises in daisy birthing to encourage them to move - mostly on all fours doing circles with hips and rocking back and forward. C'mon minichat, start co-operating with your mum!

kato wtf? why no fanny hair removal? I thought it would be better to be all clean, but I'm obviously totally off the mark! Also I can't survive without painted toenails... I was due a wax this weekend but cancelled it because I'm meeting friends for lunch. Will need to time my waxes so that I have one a few weeks before due date, or is it just for CS?

One of the girls at my fit mummy class is a pt kato and did spinning until about 28 weeks! She said she had to stop because belly got in the way. I honestly don't know how she had the energy, I'm knackered. But if it were me I'd listen to whoever was advising me like you did.

purple you need to have a chat with minipurple before the next one and tell him/her to behave themself so you can see them! Glad it was ok though and you're happy.

niff lovely to see you! Feel free to disappear until you feel a bit more confident, it's a nerve-wracking but lovely time :) We're here to give support whenever you need it, these ladies have seen me through some shitty times and amazing times. You've probably had this already from tonnes of folk but it's fine to keep doing whatever exercise your body is used to, just don't start anything new unless it's gentle/antenatal. Also stop with anything that could be risky to baby e.g. horse riding.

JC first trimester for me was like one giant nasty hangover - I didn't want to eat or do anything except lie listlessly on the sofa! I feel your pain, but it's not forever don't worry. Ginger biscuits, ginger beer/ale, rice cakes, ice lollies. Crisps worked for me too - salt n vinegar. Lots of water. YOu can self-cert for a week anyway, so if you need time off sick then take it.

toast I'd have no problem with buying a 2nd hand travel system, I just wanted a new one which was why I bought one :D I would do a quick bit of research to check there was no recalls on the particular model first though and, as you said, buy new car seat and carry cot mattress.

Will pop over to JSers to chat about B6 now...

WilHarlot · 06/05/2015 09:56

Ooh mine always sounded like horses and I had girls. Didn't know that was a theory.

I really want salt and vinegar crisps now.

mountaingirl01 · 06/05/2015 10:23

Mine sounds like horses too gaggia and... I'm having a daughter!!
