Hope we have some babies arriving soon, good luck to those due today!

blondie think I said yesterday my plug loss to start of labour was 3hrs but I know that is very quick! I was already 3cm at my sweep the previous day so she was ready to come out!

I've spent the day painting the living room, I will be very glad when I have my house the way I want it!! This is tiring stuff!

Hope everyone else is ok today!

Threesoundslikealot · 28/04/2015 17:31

Hi, everyone! I have been on FB but failing on MN. So exciting that the babies are really here or on their way.

38+4 here, and two more days left at work. Period pains most evenings but no other signs. Both my others were after the EDD so I'm not expecting anything any time soon.

Wasabi, I'm hoping this will my third home birth and I agree, it doesn't feel like a brave choice. I loved both my others and am positively looking forward to labour. I realise that makes me sound weird.

Come on, babies!

BeanCalledPickle · 28/04/2015 18:08

I have failed to leave the house at all today except for to pick DD up from nursery. I have spent most the day on the sofa. And I don't even feel lazy, even though I ate my body weight in biscuits. And that's a lot of weight!

Last night I learnt that if you start yelling in the middle of the night it's best to emphasise that this is spider related and not labour related. Poor husbandGrin

bradders85 · 28/04/2015 18:19

Haha Bean that really made me chuckle! :)
I have had a lazy day myself - only activity being to crawl around on all fours cleaning skirting boards and hoping to encourage baby to turn! :)

longestlurkerever · 28/04/2015 19:25

Exciting times! I also didn't really have any warning dd was on her way. No plug loss, bh or waters breaking even. Just contractions that got gradually more frequent till it dawned on me it was really happening. This time baby has got into position sooner and feels lower down than I remember dd being at this stage so am wondering if that means she will arrive earlier but I still have very few bh. Am not even 36 weeks yet though so hope she hangs on a while
Dd was 4 days over which would be cutting it a bit fine as not allowed to ho beyond 40+6 with gestational diabetes and would prefer not to be induced.

WasabiNuts · 28/04/2015 20:02

Lol, Bean - I just went 'aargh' as I was putting the groceries away just now as I nearly dropped something, and DH sprang into action thinking it was a labour sign! Grin

That's great, Threesounds. I'm not exactly relishing the prospect of labour; DS's was hard going as he was back to back, but I am hopeful this can only mean this one won't be anywhere near as hard! And if it is, I have done it before, and chose to get pg again to go through it again!!! And this is it - my last - I am not doing it a third time!

SmileyScooby · 28/04/2015 21:00

sunshine I'm 38w tomorrow and still driving - but only short trips to supermarket.

bradders hope that it is 3rd time lucky!!

Gin hope feeling better

Scottish enjoy TT!! I'm supposed to be going to a concert end of May but don't think that will be happening - said yes before knew was pregnant!!!

Just 1/2.30 club, 3/4.30 club is me!! Fed up of it!! Then 5.30...then hubby wakes up before the wretched alarm and wakes me. Grrr

Bump still keeps going solid for longish periods of time and am getting fidgety feet/legs grrr think might do some cleaning tomorrow (don't like cleaning!) as haven't really done anything today and feel ought to!

Justyouwaitandsee · 28/04/2015 21:16

Hi all, I'm still here. Feeling a bit anxious now - so strange not knowing when it's going to happen, what it's going to be like and knowing you really don't have much control Confused think that is why I would be quite happy for baby to stay where he/she is!

WasabiNuts · 28/04/2015 21:32

I know what you mean, Just - though I LIKE that I have a surprise coming! :)

bean sounds like a good day :) I think all partners are on edge at the moment, we are to make NO sudden noises ha!

longest I always thought that the waters breaking were the first sign, how wrong was I?! So much about pregnanct is either exaggerated or never talked about lol plugs?! If you would have asked me what that was 10 months ago I would have had no idea! Ha

wasabi I have so much respect for you, I hear back to back is just excruciating!! I'm sure this labour will be a breeze compared to that, we'll I hope for you anyway :)

smiley oh the fidgety restless legs are the worst! The only thing that helps is a nice hot bath!

Aw tori Thank you so much :) I got 2000 words to write for an essay then I am done!!! It's been stressful but I will be so relieved when it's all over! Oh that's good to know, I just remember when I was in hospital for the night and the husbands when at 9 and the two ladies opposite me were screaming and using gas and air at 2 am and the midwives were like 'you can ring your partner now' and that kinda scared me....thinking that I would be in pain and alone :(

I am getting lots of BH today and lots of fanny daggers! I hope she is getting in to position and raring to put all the energy in to pushing herself out of me lol! ;)

WasabiNuts · 28/04/2015 23:08

Tori, fair enough!
Though I know three MWs as friends and all three have chosen HBs! So I guess it's what you know! (Sadly none are local to me, so won't be delivering my baby.)
Well done on all the baby shopping - it is a nice feeling, hey!

Thanks, leanne. I didn't actually realise quite how much worse back to back was until one of my MW friends said so very recently - so yes, if this one is normal, hopefully it will be a breeze.

applecore0317 · 29/04/2015 06:21

Happy Due date for yesterday just hope things start happening soon for you

Blondie fingers crossed it's all a sign that things are imminent

ginger hope all goes well with the sweep tomorrow, and good luck dress shopping, impressed that you are planning to go :)

Steph It's funny isn't it, we're all also back to the first trimester knicker watch

Scottish I was thinking that the other day, although I usually wear flats it's nice to pop a pair of heels on occasionally.

Ooh snooky isn't loose bowels a sign of labour?

feeling glad you are better

chook can't believe you are painting, just makes me tired thinking about it

Ha ha bean, poor DH, but yey for a lazy day

Hi three hope this pregnancy is different and doesn't go overdue

longest I'm the same, she's quite low and am 36 weeks today

tori hope the baby has moved now, do you think the peeing thing could be him pressing down on your bladder?

wasabi hope this labour is better than your last

Leanne ha ha wouldn't it be nice if they extra energy meant they would just shoot out in fifteen mins

36 weeks today!!! No more progesterone and finally allowed to DTD, once I get rid of a mild bout of thrush that is Hmm

KittyVonCatsington · 29/04/2015 06:58

Snooky I feel your pain!! Had a rough time toilet wise yesterday too!

Glad you are feeling better Feeling

Chook!!! Painting an entire room?! Crazy Grin Put your feet up today!

Ha Ha Bean I've learnt that too! Any kind of calling out results in a panicked husband response Smile

Boo to the thrush -apple It was the Bain of my life in weeks 30-34 Angry

Had a bit of a false alarm yesterday at 39+2. Had what I think was the first part of a show-lots of yellow cm in one go. Then the need to do a BM painfully but not being able to and then and evening of waves of achy period pain that made me cry out a bit. Stopped as soon as I was lying horizontally in bed (with a towel underneath me in case!)
Looks like things are starting to get prepared and I might get to meet Kitlet soon!! Will go for a long walk later to try and move things along Grin

applecore0317 · 29/04/2015 07:09

Sounds promising kitty, come on kitlet!!

Thankfully just a mild bout caused by the antibiotics I think :) have got prescription cream which is working

leanne963 · 29/04/2015 08:56

Oooh kitty good luck!! Hope these signs are all pointing in the right direction :)

I love how we are all labour symptom watching now....think of the first few weeks when we were just symptom watching to ensure everything was ok?! How tome flies!!

apple i am pretending to myself that active babies must be super easy to birth as they must just wiggle their way out haha oooorrrr she will just end up wiggling her way back in and I will have to push twice as hard haha!

Hope everyone slept ok last night!? Fell asleep super fast but just kept tossing and turning since 5ish but I refused to get up lol!where is the warm weather? I loved the sneak peak of summer earlier on this month!!

Morning ladies

Ooh exciting times sounds like some babies are gearing up to make an appearance good luck you ladies either due very soon or overdue now!

Yes I am mad for doing this work haha painting all finished now going to start wallpapering then I'm done! At least it's making me tired enough to sleep didn't get up until 7.30 this morning amazing!!!

Hope everyone has a lovely day and we have some baby news very soon! Grin

KittyVonCatsington · 29/04/2015 09:36

Tori - my baby is in an L shape of sorts too and if that is where Baby at has moved to - that is good! Head is down with a curve towards the left. Midwives and Sonographer quite happy with that position. I hope that this means Baby T is getting in a better position for you

Leanne I miss he good weather too! Very bleak today and it looks like Bank Holiday will be a washout too!

mumxof3x · 29/04/2015 09:44

Morning everyone.

Im so crappy with the thread now.

Kitty sounds promising eek good luck. Hope you get to meet baby very soon.

Blondie, r.e the plug. Mine came away in bits for weeks and weeks first no blood just snotty and then it started to turn blood streaked at 29+3 was mainly green though until I was in full blown labour at 34 weeks and then it was mainly all blood. Sorry tmi. But every one is different can be hours days or weeks. Good luck :)

Nearly may now ladies not long to go :D

leo is almost 3 weeks old now. So weird to think I should have quite a while still left lol. Hes doing good, champion feeder now, but still below birthweight but hes getting there :) I really miss been pregnant now lol.

longestlurkerever · 29/04/2015 09:49

leanne yes me too! The mw had to break my waters in the end though as I was fully dilated and had been pushing for a while and they still wouldn't break. I have since learned that might have been a good thing as you get a sudden increase in contraction intensity when they break whereas mine was nice and steady.

Hmm, feeling sick and crabby today. Is my day with dd but she is in a difficult mood - bossing me about and I am not dealing with it well. How many hours till bed again? Smile

piglet81 · 29/04/2015 09:57

Good luck to those whose babies look like they're on their way...exciting!

Didn't wake up until 5.30 this morning, which was nice Grin Had some terrible fanny daggers while watching telly last night though - really made me yelp!

Just trying to get hold of midwife as I was supposed to have a home visit yesterday but she didn't turn up and it turned out to be her day off (they don't seem massively well organised round here...). 39 weeks today so would quite like some reassurance that everything is as it should be! Shame it's so cold and chilly again, boo.

Take care everyone Smile

Justyouwaitandsee · 29/04/2015 10:19

Hi ladies, oh I just had the electricians round to do a survey. Looks like we need a total rewire. We were kind of expecting this but still not nice to have to listen to all the faults and danger points about your home. DH is at work so will have to wait before we can talk it all through. The good thing is we have the money to do the rewire but weren't quite prepared for doing up the whole house straightaway! The cat is all over me at the moment when she is usually a standoffish little madam so we are having nice snuggles on the sofa!

WasabiNuts · 29/04/2015 10:30

Impressive name-checking and catch up there, applecore!

Exciting, Kitty! Will watch this space!

mumxof3x, I know what you mean - I am cherishing this pregnancy as I am sure I will miss it - it is a magical time, but I am not doing it again.
