sunshine I told my DH that after this week my driving will be minimal, because I am short I have to sit so close to the steering wheel and my bump is making it uncomfortable to drive, particularly with using the clutch.

aberjen fingers crossed it's a sign

kitty hope you don't go over, I know some of us might but am telling myself that we will all pop them out either on time or one or two weeks before our due date lol

inthewoods4 · 27/04/2015 18:20

Hi all, I've not posted in yonks but have been reading all your updates! Bean- I'm a second timer too and feeling anxious now my due date is getting closer. I had pnd last time too so that's on my mind- I'm hoping to avoid that this time!! Xx

Gingerbreadlady1 · 27/04/2015 20:04

Thanks for the welcome apple, chook & kitty . Its so exciting hearing that some people are getting possible shows and twinges, more bambinos will be here soon! Wonder who will be next, not me, this little one is too comfy (i however am really, really not!).

bradders85 · 27/04/2015 20:18

Hi all, this thread has been busy today! :)

blondie hope things are starting for you!

Welcome wasabi

Hope everyone else is ok :)

I had sweep number 3 this morning - lovely midwife who really explained things! Sweep again was fine, still 3cm dilated but cervix is now in a better position and has thinned out more - she said it was a favourable sweep! Lost more plug but no pains - just a few tightenings. She said it was really good to be 2-3cm already with my first but I'm not having the contractions which would push me along. She did say however she thinks baby is back to back as she could feel limbs so under instruction to get wiggling on my ball!! :) If all else fails induction on Friday but hoping to avoid it!!

WasabiNuts · 27/04/2015 20:47

longest, yes, I had a HB with DS. It doesn't feel like the brave choice to me - it feels like the better alternative to hospital and all the stresses mentioned previously - wandering men, other babies crying etc. Needs must, of course, and I'd go in and be thankful we have hospitals if I had to, but I'd rather avoid if I can. Plus I have spent ages cleaning my house in readiness! Grin

Ooh, bradders, sounds close!

Thank you for the continued welcomes!

GinIsCalling · 27/04/2015 20:59

Hi all, been ages since i posted on here, although I've been following and using FB group.
I'm due to go in to be induced tomorrow, but have picked up a stomach bug from my son! Really horrific timing. I am just going to have to see if I'm better in the morning, and if not postpone until Wednesday. Yuck!
I'm keen to meet her now, even though I'm scared to be induced. But can't think of anything worse than having diarrhoea during labour (although know labour can cause it), or indeed giving it to my newborn.

GinIsCalling · 27/04/2015 21:00

Also symptom spotting like mad, desperate for this to happen naturally. Come ON mucus plug!

FeelingBlessed77 · 27/04/2015 21:49

I'm feeling absolutely awful tonight. pretty much ache everywhere, and am having real problems breathing as well. the joys of the last few weeks.
hope everyone else is doing ok.

Scottishgal78 · 28/04/2015 04:42

Know the feeling blessed. Keep getting emails saying 'you're 36 weeks - your heartburn should be easing and you should be able to breathe more easily' and in thinking 'um - no!' I also seem to have joined the 4am club. Knew it would happen at some point! Have a full day's work ahead then going to see Take That! Ooh I'm going to feel it on Wednesday!Grin

applecore0317 · 28/04/2015 05:00

Good luck today Gin, hope the stomach bug is gone in time for labour

Great news bradders hope labour comes on quickly for you now

Hi inthewoods.

feelingblessed sorry you are aching, might be worth getting your iron levels checked re the breathlessness

Welcome to the 4am club Scottish I've been awake since 3.30... Joy! Also still suffering with heart burn despite the bump being a lot lower Hmm

Bearsinmotion · 28/04/2015 05:15

Yes, DS (8wo) is on a feed / vomit / poo cycle at the moment, with occasional nap breaks :(

Justyouwaitandsee · 28/04/2015 06:03

Hi all - today is my due date but no sign of bubs arriving as yet. Seem to have started my very own 1-2.30am club, thanks to some more BH but they are not painful or reaching my back. Like you Bradders I just hope they are helping / doing something! Still have quite a lot to finish off before baby arrives and feeling generally ok so not in as much of a rush to meet baby as some of you are. Have a boiler service booked in for today and an electrical survey booked in for tomorrow (exciting stuff!) and DH is still varnishing an old chest of drawers so we have somewhere to put baby's clothes! Have a feeling that we are going to fill the time right up to baby's arrival, so we are just going to have to see how much we can achieve before he/she puts in an appearance!!

scottish - you are definitely crazy! I can't imagine doing either of those things let alone a full day at work and a concert straight after. Will be pretty cool to see Take That though Smile - great way to make the most of your last few baby free days/weeks!

Good luck for today / tomorrow Gin - hope you are feeling better this morning? And you, feelingblessed Sad Flowers

Scottishgal78 · 28/04/2015 06:58

I know Just booked the tix way back when....I've told DP if i go into labour he's getting called Howard or Donald but he's not having it! I dozed off about 5 so hopefully I'll feel ok. Work is mainly exam revision with a lovely class today so nothing too strenuous!

applecore0317 · 28/04/2015 07:22

I'd love to see Take That again, but only without Robbie, he annoys me :) Hope you have a good time Scottish , labour free!!

bradders85 · 28/04/2015 08:39

good luck today gin if all goes ahead and your feeling a bit better.

just hope your BH are doing something. I've tried to sleep all night on my left side as midwife said it might get baby in better position who is back to back on my right side.....hips now killing due to PGP.....can't win!!

Scottish enjoy your concert!

lousy weather today so I'm going to clean, how exciting! Wink

KittyVonCatsington · 28/04/2015 10:25

So sorry you are poorly Gin but I hope
You get better and get to meet your little one soon. Was there a reason why you are being induced early? I hope everytjing is ok?

Come on bradders - waving my PomPoms to cheer on a quick labour!!

Welcome inthewoods Grin

FelingBlessed Boo and sorry you are aching so much -the last hurdle is a tricky one! I too am getting frustrated with the huge size and low down position of my bump that I can barely walk or sleep comfortably on my side/back. I keep saying to myself-not long now.

Hooray for your Due Date Just but boo nothing is happening yet-hopefully your BH is loosening things up. I will join you in that wish-couple of days to go for me too and the Bank Holiday would be great to give DH a bit of extra time with me before going to back to work for a week (paternity leave arranged for mid May as I would have no help then)
Have a first sweep booked for the start of next week if no appearance-hope Kitlet comes before then but knowing my luck Wink

Ginger - I too hope that Baby won't be too comfortable hee hee!!

Wasabi -fancy coming and tidying my house Wink I can't seem to muster any energy!

Have fun Scottish!!

shinyhappyone · 28/04/2015 10:31

Morning all. 38 weeks today and no signs yet. It's ok with me. Getting as much of my uni assignment out the way before he comes is a good thing!

Scottish - a whole day at work and then a gig? I struggled with that when I wasn't pregnant! I became on of those people who rarely went out on a school night. Kudos to you!

Just - exciting to have reached your due date. Glad you're happy playing the waiting game. Hope I'm as patient as you if and when I get there.

Have arranged a get together at mine for the girls I met at nct classes this morning. There are 7 of us altogether but 3 have dropped early over the past week! Nobody was due until the second week of May so we have some keen ones. So 4 of us it is with more cake to go round.

Have a good day everyone xx

shinyhappyone · 28/04/2015 10:33

Kitty, how far along will you be when they do your first sweep? xx

KittyVonCatsington · 28/04/2015 10:55

3 days over Shiny. I think it is because that's the day my midwives have their clinic rather than any medical need for me.

Blondie87 · 28/04/2015 11:08

I hope baby turns and things get going naturally Bradders! Bounce like crazy!

Oh Gin that sounds grim- hope you make a swift recovery before baby comes.

Feeling I hope you feel better soon love.

Kitty I really hope things happen naturally for you and kitlet! Sending positive labour vibes your way! Remind me how far along you are?

Shiny I'm seeing my NCT friends today too although like you, 3 out of 6 have had their babies (2 early!)

Well I am just as confused re plug. Lost lots yesterday (no blood) and then this morning I went for a wee and (again sorry gross alert) felt something come out and there was even more (yellow, thick and slimey- lovely!) however still just having normal amounts of BH with period type pains which I've been having since week 32. Nothing else has changed. Any non-first timers got any experience of the time between plug loss and labour? I'm 37+4 so I'm happy for him to stay put a bit longer. However, did go for a rather long walk yesterday to see if it moved things along!

gingerfluffball · 28/04/2015 11:25

Scottish I'm so impressed with your gig plans! I would be asleep by 8pm after a full day's work Grin I'm sure baby will enjoy hearing the music too.

Just I totally wish I had your patience - send some of it my way? Hopefully you get to tick some of those jobs off before baby arrives.

Blondie I've been googling the plug stuff as am also intrigued, I read anywhere from a couple of hours to a couple of weeks until labour can kick off! It does sound as if your plug is definitely coming away though so fingers crossed for the shorter end of that timeline.

I'm booked for a sweep on Thurs, midwives offer them from 39 weeks here so thought I may as well see if anything happens from it. (Am obviously desperate for things to kick off as still obsessively symptom-watching each day!)

Trailed round the shops today on the hunt for a dress for a wedding we're going to a day before my due date. As this little lodger is showing no signs of evicting himself I thought I'd better bite the bullet and find something to wear! Have over-ambitiously got an amazing pair of red heels to go with the bump dress which will probably kill my feet after the first 5mins... but worth it to feel a bit glammed up after so many months of heaving a bump around Smile

Royalsteph · 28/04/2015 13:16

it's amazing that the symptom spotting has come a full circle. in the two week wait before the positive test and now the two week wait before the due date arrives.
had a midwife appt and she said your only job is to get yourself in labour before your next appt, erm thanks for that. she wasn't interested in talking through birth plans or anything Hmm

Scottishgal78 · 28/04/2015 14:04

Oh ginger i miss heels! Can't believe I'm going out tonight in leggings, a dress and sneakers! Needs must!

WasabiNuts · 28/04/2015 14:20

Thanks for the offer, Kitty, but no! I don't like cleaning - only do it for the reward of a clean house at the end of it!

Nothing happening here - no BHs, no plug or anything - didn't with DS either though - just straight into it!
Looking forward to more baby announcements - Gin, any news?!

Snooky17 · 28/04/2015 14:44

Omg my bum hurts ! 5 trips to loo today already. Oh the joys of pregnancy. So exciting more babies arriving, I never lost my plug before labour in any of my 3, straight to waters breaking (apart from 1st who was induced).
