Pas - it took me until almost labour to realise that DD was not going to be just like DS when born. They have reasonably similar temperaments but totally different colouring. I'm preparing myself that this baby might be like neither of them!

In fact, I'm trying to prepare myself that this one will be the non sleeping, non eating colicky nightmare I've avoided so far ...

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 07/05/2015 12:18

Don't, Anything... Confused I feel we had it remarkably easy with dd... I'm dreading getting my comeuppance this time.... Eek...

Jenbird5891 · 07/05/2015 18:58

Hi everyone, can I join? I'm
Moving across from July thread as alto my original due date was 9 th July we are having twins so they will be born by end of June! This isu first pregnancy and am looking forward to meeting my little boy and girl now I've recovered from the 'twin shock'. Can't believe it will all happen next month!! Xx

AnythingNotEverything · 07/05/2015 19:31

Welcome JenBird! Wow twins Smile we have another set of "June" twins coming this month I think.

Hope you've had an uneventful pregnancy so far. Nearly at the business end now! I've got one week left at work and am due in 7. Eek!

zahaziland · 07/05/2015 20:54

Welcome Jen and congratulations on twins!

Feeling particularly tired this evening - an early night for me.
Only three more weeks of work to go!

comeagainforbigfudge · 07/05/2015 21:40

Hello. I've not much to say. Just trying to muddle along. Bump getting heavier as well and my spd is worsening. Even driving short distances seems to make it a bit worse. Got a physio appointment tomorrow. Not that I'm expecting it to help much but better than nothing Sad

I'm also having an early night.

Hello jen welcome aboard Smile

Oh what a manic week...

Theyvall I initially read that 50% of women with GD go on to develop type 2 within 10 years. However, I then read some more detailed research which stated that the figure is 50% of women who required insulin to control GD. Either way, I do know what you mean, my short experience with diabetes tells me I do not want to develop it long term. What day is your growth scan? How do you cope with the practical stuff? This is the third night in the row I've had to stay up later than I'd like to test my blood sugars (I realise it's only 10:45.) The other day I had to get my class to do some reading so I could test under my desk in my class. I'm not sure Ofsted would approve of that...

Speaking of which, pas don't get me started on 'average' Hmm I don't know how many times I've had conversations along the lines on 'Why are four children in your class below average?' 'Er, do you want to take a moment to consider that sentence?' Hope you enjoy your last day at school, and that the baby stays put for you. Hoping both you and Anything have quiet ones that sleep, just like the one I've got on order.

Welcome jen, twins, wow! Friends with twins have said that during the toddler stage the children have each other to play with a lot more and so don't always need as much attention from their parents.

jazzy you sound very organised! When have/ will people get cots/ moses baskets etc ready for the baby?

Nearly the weekend!

jen congrats and welcome!!

I had my final midwife appt today at 38wks and she is adamant this baby will be born within a week! God I hope she is right otherwise if I have to be induced it will be the day before dd bday and I could really do without that!!

Hope everyone is well....

Haha yes it was nice to hear tori but I'm still thinking I'm going to go over... Just really hoping I'm wrong and she's right!

comeagainforbigfudge · 08/05/2015 21:44

I too wish someone would tell me when baby is coming. Bored with this spd pain I tell ye! I do have a consultant appointment coming up. Might lay it on thick about how sore I am.....

Went to physio today and she checked my pelvis, made me go through all the suitable labouring positions and wrote it all down in my notes for me. (The mw told me positions such straddling chairs would be good. Eh naw hen, I don't think so!)

Went waddled to boots afterwards, needed concealer. The lovely no 7 lady took pity on me (i must have looked awful as loads of ladies were giving me that wry "we feel your pain" look) and plonked me down on a seat and gabbed to me for at least 5 minutes. By then I felt much better. Only bought my concealer though ha ha

She did tell me to book in for a pamper/facial/make up trial once baby here. Has anyone heard of this? Is it free? I quite like no7 stuff so might consider it.

Hope you are all good
I'm hoping my paracetamol kicks in soon so I can turn over in bed a bit more easily!! Glamorous Grin

Welcome jen, congratulations on your twinnies.... There are 2 other sets of g/g twins on the bus!

Chook... Really hope your mw is right and your baby doesnt keep you waiting to long now.

Almost 37 weeks now and am having alot of bh's and thought it was d-day on wed when tightenings became regular and more contraction like.... I really hope she's only a week or so away!

comeagainforbigfudge · 09/05/2015 21:30

Well that's my day ruined. Almost.

Had a lovely baby shower with friends n family. Totally spoiled. But really sore. Driving starting to get a bit uncomfortable, family all not wanting to let me drive etc.

I've decided that I'll stop driving at 36 weeks. Just because I'm so uncomfortable/feel concentration starting to be affected.

Tell OH this, and he's all "well I don't know if you can,I mean we still need to get a shed, paint, pick a carpet"

No actually OH dearest. If I don't feel safe driving anymore then I sure as hell won't be because you want to pick a shitey carpet! Get yer maw to take you!!

I'm nearly in tears lying in bed trying to get comfy as it is and he doesn't seem to give a flying fook.

Just wanted a moan. It's a bit rambly, sorry! Hooe you all having a better sat night than me Sad

sorry to hear about your evening comeagain - I hope things are looking rosier this morning!

how exciting chook your baby could be here any day! keep us posted

Nothing much to say here. I still find my bump to be a bit on the small side and people do comment on it (which worries and annoys me) and when I am lying down my bump tends to flatten out a lot.... Rationally I know that I am worrying for nothing, as all the medical staff have said that bumps can in all shapes and sizes and do not reflect the size or wellbeing of baby. Nevertheless it does play on my mind at times...

I started pregnancy yoga last week, and I've got my next lesson next week - looking forward to it!

AlcoholicsUnanimous · 10/05/2015 09:33

chook and jazzy how exciting to think your babies could be here in a week! Do you feel ready?

comeagain I hope that you feel a bit better today. I really wish there was a way OHs could feel some of the pain and discomfort just so they'd be a bit more empathetic.

Tori I think I'll also go with putting stuff up when it's delivered.

Do other people feel massive urges to nest? I thought it was a ridiculous concept when I read about it but nothing else explains my desire at the moment to stay up until 11 sorting baby stuff when I'm totally exhausted.

comeagainforbigfudge · 10/05/2015 15:01

OH has been more sympathetic today. Which is just as well as I'm still REALLY sore. Consultant appointment will be fun tomorrow. The waiting around on awful hard seats will probably break me!

I don't think I'm in nesting phase yet. I just want things tidy. Washed all the baby clothes as nowt else to do. Just need somewhere to store it properly. Bought an ikea changing table today so once OH has built it I will sort stuff on that.

But having a nap first. Terrible restless legs last night meant I had a god-awful sleep.

Does anyone feel like they are constantly moany?

OP posts:
Chookford · 10/05/2015 16:52

alcoholics yes I am more than ready for this baby now!! The sooner the better but I have a feeling it's going to be late!

come glad your dh is being a bit more sympathetic today, nothing worse than being heavily pregnant and having to deal with your partner being a douche bag! Wink hope you enjoyed your nap!

jazzyjenbo · 10/05/2015 20:22

It is very weird thinking that we are on the home stretch now... 2 girls being induced this coming week makes it even more real.

I honestly can't wait to wake up to everyones baby news.

I'm also wanting everything to be tidy and 'in its place'.... I'm cleaning the bathroom and loos daily as i keep thinking if i have baby and then bring her home that means lits of visitors and mw/hv's... They can't see me house looking a mess!

I havnt bought much new for this baby as i have all of ds's neutral things and all of dd's clothes... But i keep opening the wardrobe and looking at the few new bits and tiny baby things we have.... Theres actually going to be another one soon! Eek GrinSmileShock

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 10/05/2015 21:15

Comeagain, I think largely if I open my mouth it's to moan and whinge. I'm lovely company.

Very very sore last 2 days and having really painful braxton hicks every time I move, and quite often if I don't. This is what I was like for the last 2 weeks before dd's birth which is making me optimistic that I might be "on the other side" soon... But then again dd was a fortnight late so it could still be 6 weeks!! I just keep saying "I can't belieeeeeve it can go on like this for 6 weeks" and dh keeps saying "You better try."

Oh well. If in doubt eat chocolate. Smile

comeagainforbigfudge · 10/05/2015 21:26

Oh pas I'm with you! Just hurry up already baby!

As this is my first I'm not sure about recognising braxton hicks. Abdomen does go really tight at times though.

OH ran me a bath. Trying to relax my weary bits in the hope I don't have restless legs again tonight

comeagainforbigfudge · 11/05/2015 16:29

Oh dear my baby is breech!!

I did think this but to have it confirmed! Eeeek!!!

Help, top tips needed!

OP posts:
Chookford · 11/05/2015 18:21

come how far are you now? My monkey was breech too up until last Thursday! I'm now 38+1 so there is still time! Mine shifted around when I moved house though so wouldn't recommend that! I was on my hands and knees a lot so think that's what did it for me! Bouncing on your ball will also help but ulitmately its up to baby wether it turns in time or not for you... Have they spoken to you about turning the baby manually?

comeagainforbigfudge · 11/05/2015 18:32

35+3 chook.

Yes I don't think moving is an option. Scrubbing floors probably won't be an option either because of stoopid pelvic girdle pain/spd!

My consultant has arranged at scan for 38w and will discuss options after that.
Trying to read up on ecv. Got an antenatal class tomorrow that's going over breech/c-sections so will quiz mw about ecv and whether it's a good idea or not Grin
