Morning all, haven't posted for AGES because - weirdly - being on MN makes me feel sick... Hmm. I had the same reaction last time but had forgotten...

Will try to catch up on everyone's news, and hello to all the newbies!

ineed I went to a wedding last weekend, just one day long, and I was shattered by 10pm and had to drag DH off the dance floor where he was throwing some impressive drunk shapes and demand we leave. Had to dodge some annoying questions like, "why aren't you drinking?" (I did make sure I had wine in my hand most of the time, but was caught briefly with a cup of tea) and "are you two trying for another baby?". Just SHUT UP. I mean, why would a regular party girl NOT be drinking? And why might she be being dismissive or coy about it? Have some sensitivity, peeps.

So I don't know how you do two days of it!

11 weeks today, and my scan is at 12+2 so not long to go now!!

metal I also just want to stop feeling sick and exhausted all the time. I think it got better at 14 weeks for me too last time. Today's my lie in day and DH has taken DD out somewhere so I'm luxuriating in bed with a cuppa. It's heavenly.

Anyone else with their scan soon?

Jebel · 10/05/2015 10:54

Welcome bluesky and miss.

Congrats on the scans Terry, with, Jodie and Charley. Hope I mentioned all the new ones.

I've told lots of people. I know some people 'disapprove' but if something goes wrong, I'd like my friends to know. Plus I don't like lying to people. It is a personal thing but feels wrong in this day and age that it can be a taboo.

I have had a 12 hour vomiting bug, definitely not morning sickness as DH is down with it today. Am actually feeling better today than I have for a few weeks!

MissMrsMummy · 10/05/2015 11:54

Thank you for the warm welcome!

Anyone else worried about sugar? I am tracking my diet on MyFitnessPal and am always alarmingly over on sugar recommendations! I have seriously cut down (so goodness knows how much I was having before!) but it's EVERYWHERE! Does anyone know what the daily limit is in grams for pregnancy? Is this something the midwife will help with?

Don't know how you're all managing with weddings to go to! Sounds exhausting! I have a big party in 2 weeks so I'll have to say I'm driving. Jebel I also hate lying! And I can't lie!

Flora I thought you meant actually don't MOVE during pregnancy, as in stay put on the sofa! Which is how I feel after reading all the advice/warnings etc. you can really scare yourself. Hope your home move is going ok!

ChandlersFarang · 10/05/2015 11:54

Hello lovely ladies, just enjoyed catching up on all your news. Welcome MrsMiss, and congrats to those of you that saw your bean on a scan! Sorry you're sick Jebel, and Metal it is getting a bit Groundhog Day-ish to wake up feeling hung over every morning and shit all day. We must keep our eyes on the prize!!!! Smile (plus symptoms vanishing would be worrisome so I guess we should try to feel grateful?!).

I've been having 2hr siestas in the afternoon this weekend - that's going to be tough to keep going into the working week... Might have to work from home a bit!! Went for dinner on Friday night with a couple we know reasonably well and found out she is 11 weeks preg!! I'm now 8 weeks so was amazing to chat to them about it and she's been feeling awful too. Once we both admitted it it was so nice, seeing as we'd both been pretending to be drinking (mocktails!) and also meant we didn't have to goor he planned nightcap as we were so knackered... Lol.

WhatsForYe - I'm so glad you said that about MN making you feel sick! Me too!! I can't explain why but there are quite a few non-food things that are making me queasy. The thought of our long holiday to the States we went on last month being one (I feel so guilty about it! Can't tell anyone, sounds so princessy). Every time we meet up with someone we haven't seen we have to talk about it again... I've been leaving DH to do all the talking and try desperately to think about something else! So fucking weird! I also almost threw up on this Thai woman's really tacky shoes the other day... Hahaha! GrinGrin They were baby blue patent with pink hearts on the heel... Ugh the thought of them makes me dry heave! Wtf is that all about?!

HariboBrenshnio · 10/05/2015 21:01

Sorry Iv dropped off the thread abit. The sickness has taken over my life but touch wood it seems to be improving. I will go back and catch up on everyone's news. Hope your all well. Will be so much easier to keep up once we have a FB group! Couple more weeks Smile

AmberLav · 10/05/2015 21:20

I've been quiet too, I'm settling into generally feeling like crap, with headaches all morning, and nausea all day, but think the worse thing is the constant yukky taste in my mouth. Quite envious of all the scans, I'll be waiting till the 12 week one, but my hospital normally offers it at 13 weeks, so I may call them to say I'll be on holiday that week, to try to move it forward! So at least 4 weeks to go still, as I'm only 8+2...

I've been reading the news of coping with weddings, I have one to go to at 10 weeks, and I'll be leaving DH with the kids, and heading to it with my sister, mum and stepdad, and I've volunteered to drive! It's about 1 hour 20 mins from my mum's house, so that may be fun! I don't want the whole family to know, so I've spent the evening trying to find an outfit that won't show the bloated tummy too much!

shinysparklythings · 10/05/2015 21:30

haribo glad you seem to be improving fx it stays that way.

amber I'm waiting to the twelve week scan too. I was worried as originally when I rang up to register they said between week 12 and 14. My booking in was at 9+6 so quite late. Because I want the nt test it's been booked in for 12+4 apparently it's best at 12 and a half weeks. they also need to do my bloods as the midwife couldn't get any

ineedsomeinspiration · 11/05/2015 07:58

Morning everyone, bit of a TMI alert I'm afraid.

Just been to the loo and did the usual wipe and check and had a big blob of what looks just like egg white cervical mucus. No blood or anything, completely clear. Me and dh dtd for the first time last night since we found out about the pregnancy so do you think it could be something to do with that?

I have just started to feel more settled and less worried.

Withalittlesparkle · 11/05/2015 09:06

Inspiration first it's probably a bit of semen, but also your body is cleaning itself out like nobodies business, there the fact you've probably aggregated your plug which is constantly regenerating! Absolutely nothing to worry about

Withalittlesparkle · 11/05/2015 09:07

Unless there's a smell or you hurt when you wee (then it could be uti related)

ThreeBeanRap · 11/05/2015 09:25

Morning all. Hope everyone had nice relaxing weekends?

I'm 11w tomorrow and just when I thought symptoms should be easing they seem to have really ramped up, I've felt really sick all weekend and have had a low level headache too which is stopping me sleeping very well. BUT I am very excited to be only a week away from 12 weeks, and looking forward to having my booking appointment this week.

Still waiting for a scan date though! Confused

ineedsomeinspiration · 11/05/2015 09:35

Thank you, put my mind at rest. No pain or smell at all. Didn't realise your plug was constantly regenerating.

My boobs are killing me today. Fed up of work, can't wait to be able to tell everyone.

TheBabyFacedAssassin · 11/05/2015 10:04

Hello everyone, can I tentatively join the party? I have been lurking since I got my bfp 4 weeks ago, just haven't wanted to jinx anything by joining in. By LMP I'm 8+1 today, with a due date of 20th December though I have a feeling that might go back to 23rd December. I have a bit of a back story, my daughter was stillborn in May last year at 35 weeks. She had a fatal foetal abnormality which was discovered at our 20 week scan but as I'm from Northern Ireland termination of pregnancy is illegal so I had to continue with the pregnancy until it naturally came to an end. My husband and I have since had genetic testing carried out and got the results back there in February and are both clear so my daughter's condition was a fluke, a 1:50000 chance of happening and unlikely to happen again!
So here I am! Pregnant and nauseous as anything, terrified and excited all at the same time. Have already had a couple of scans to check the pregnancy is where it is supposed to be and is developing normally and so far everything is looking good! My 12 week scan is actually at 10 weeks and is on the 28th May, 2 days after my daughter's first birthday/anniversary.

I'm sorry some of you are feeling ropey, if anyone figures out the cure to nausea that lasts all frigging day please let me know, I will name my jellybean after you!!

abi2790 · 11/05/2015 10:23

Good morning ladies. Sorry I haven't posted much I've just been so tired!

So sorry about your daughter Baby. My sister in law had a stillborn just after ds was born. It's such a horrible thing to go through. Fx all goes well with this pregnancy though Smile

I'm 10 weeks tomorrow! They say the risk of miscarriage is very low at this point due to the placenta taking over and all organs working but it doesn't stop the worry! I've not had a scan date yet which is really stressing me out!

ThreeBeanRap · 11/05/2015 11:09

BabyFaced so sorry to hear about your loss Flowers best wishes for a healthy pregnancy, and congrats!

TheBabyFacedAssassin · 11/05/2015 11:33

Thanks Abi and Bean!

Let's hope we all sail smoothly through this together.

Metalhead · 11/05/2015 11:55

Welcome assasin, and I'm so sorry to hear about what you've been through. Fx for a smooth pregnancy and healthy baby this time round.

TheBabyFacedAssassin · 11/05/2015 12:12

Thanks Metal! It's been a challenging 15 months or and I am dreading her birthday in 2 weeks' time but I am trying to stay positive and hopeful. It just sucks that my husband and I have lost the sparkle that comes with pregnancy. My daughter was my first so am in a strange situation, I know what to do when it comes to pregnancy but when it comes to a newborn I have no idea!
Have had really got care so far from my Consultant, he was with us the last time so it really is great having someone who doesn't have to ask any questions, he knows exactly what happened. And at the scan last week I saw the heartbeat as clear as anything so that is keeping me going through to the next appointment.

Anyone else suffering from bouts of insomnia? I had a terrible night's sleep last night despite being absolutely bone tired.

ineedsomeinspiration · 11/05/2015 13:09

Welcome Babyfaced sorry to hear about what you went through last time, fingers crossed all will go smoothly for you this time.

ThreeBeanRap · 11/05/2015 14:44

I've been sleeping either really well or really badly, no middle ground! I just try to get to bed reasonably early and then hopefully get a few good hours in at some point between then and getting up! Make sure the room is as dark as possible and a decent temperature.

Spoke to the hospital at lunch today and have finally got my scan date, so excited!! It's a week today, I'll be 11 + 6 so it will be great (all being well) to be able to tell people the next day when I'll be 12w.

ChandlersFarang · 11/05/2015 15:11

Well done getting your scan sorted Three!!

Welcome Baby - you sound like a super strong lady having coped with everything you've been through. I hope you find a way to enjoy this pregnancy in time, and that it runs super smoothly for you! Smile

Here's a weird question: I am definitely eating more and drinking a lot more water lately BUT I am not peeing as much out (I go often but not much) and definitely not crapping the food out either!! Sorry if this is TMI but not really a nice way to dress that up is there!! Lol!! I spoke to DH about it earlier and he thinks it's clearly going towards building the baby but it just seems weird - what goes in should come out, right?

MissMrsMummy · 11/05/2015 15:35

Hi everyone,
Sorry to hear so many of you are feeling sick/tired - hang on in there! Hope it passes soon.

Welcome babyfaced so sorry to hear what you've been though but I'm amazed at how well you have handled it xx

I am 6+1 and still feeling 'normal' most of the time so I am worried.... I'm quite tired in the afternoons but I haven't felt sick since last week so I'm convincing myself something has gone wrong. Two more weeks until a scan - I'm going to drive myself demented!

MissMrsMummy · 11/05/2015 15:36

threebean that's good timing for your scan!

Metalhead · 11/05/2015 15:57

missmrs I didn't feel sick until pretty much bang on 7 weeks, so try not to panic. Also some days are worse than others, I think symptoms can sometimes come and go.

BabsUnited · 11/05/2015 16:39

I am 6+3 and still not really feeling sick. if I've not eaten in a few hours i have a strange 'am I feeling sick?' moment when I wonder if I am or not but I don't think I am (wishful thinking Hmm). I am definitely looking bloated in the tum area. also very sore boobs still.

I had two early scans with my first DC due to bleeding and as this pg will be high risk I am hoping to get an early scan but I dont know if they'll allow it. No bleeding though or anything like that. I've still not got a GP but I have self-referred to my specialist so will hopefully get to see her this week to chat through the plans.

MissMrsMummy I spotted you are on progesterone pessaries, I had a premature birth last time and my consultant has agreed to give me these pessaries but I don't know when you're meant to start taking them. Is that why you have them? (hope you don't mind me asking, if you don't want to answer then just ignore me!)
