Great news on your scan flora.Grin Hope yours goes well today chandlers!

Afloat at least the post room lady have it to you discretely!!!

I have really bad tummy ache today TMI but not had a poo for three days now so will be heading to the chemists on my way home from school this evening if no improvement Confused

In terms of tests Dh and I were discussing it all last night ready for my booking appt on fri and we are having all the standard ones. We would rather know and prepare ourselves if something might be wrong. If the problem meant that bean would have a severely reduced quality of life then I think we wouldn't continue the pregnancy as I think it would be selfish. Fx everything will come back fine though!

ChandlersFarang · 06/05/2015 07:47

Thanks shiny! Smile I had the same problems with bowel being a diva earlier this week... I had a dessert spoon of flaxseeds before bed as I read it might help and lo and behold there was respite in the morning! I dunno if it was a coincidence but worth a try. Prune juice also recommended but I didn't have to try that in the end.

So have anyone else's tits gone mental?! Mine have gone from 32DD to 32FF ShockShockShockShockShock and I live in a country where they only sell bras up to a D cup (thanks Asian ladies) so I'm fucked until I get home to London in June. They hurt every day, and I get stabbing pains in the left one quite frequently. If anything brushes my nipple I yelp! My turning circle has shrunk dramatically!! GrinGrin

abi2790 · 06/05/2015 07:55

morning all!

The cramp went away after a few minutes. I think I just needed a lie down.

Chandlers I know what you mean! I really need to go bra shopping. I am normally a 32dd but they are really digging in me now and leaving red lines. I've been wearing my maternity bras from last time but they are still really uncomfortable! My boobs are huge! Grear thing though is they don't look horribly saggy after breastfeeding ds for 18 months so I'm constantly looking at them in the mirror haha!

FlorIxora · 06/05/2015 08:48

Argh Stupid phone just deleted my super long message. Will write later. All crossed for Chandlers

Wishful80smontage · 06/05/2015 09:19

Hi all!
Hope everyone is doing ok?
I've got my booking in app this afternoon.
I'm so big already- does anyone else have a bump? My family think I've either got my dates wrong and I'm further ahead than I think or its twins!! This is my second so was expecting to show earlier but a noticeable bump at 8 weeks?!
Doesn't help that I'm constantly eating throughout the day as it's the other thing that eases my sickness opposite of when I was expecting dd and lost a stone in first trimester. Ate a huge bag of kettle crisps, toast, cereal, pasty, veggie rice and macorini cheese yesterday!

abi2790 · 06/05/2015 10:16

Wishful I'm definitely in the same boat as you. I've not gained any weight and my tummy is definitely getting bigger so I'm assuming it's a bump already! I'm 9 +1 with my 2nd so I guess it's possible Smile

Sweets27 · 06/05/2015 12:09

Hi everyone,

Hope you're all well and had a good bank holiday weekend!

I've not posted for AAAAAGES and I'm still catching up (might take me a while as it's going to be a busy afternoon at work), but just wanted to check in and say hello. Hope everyone is doing ok.

So since I last posted, I had a really big seizure last Thursday night, which was a bit unsurprising in retrospect after a horrid week at work and very little sleep. Had to take the day to rest, and obv was a bit worried about the little bean. I then had my friend's hen do at the weekend, which was really good fun and not too outrageously boozy so I didn't feel I missed out too much by not drinking and sneaking off to bed early one of the nights.

Anyway, had my booking in appointment at hospital yesterday which lasted HOURS, updated them on the epilepsy etc. and told them about the cyst that had been discovered at my early scan. They booked me in for a new scan which I had this morning. All still OK with the baby, which is a big relief. It's measuring 9+1 (I'm 9 by LMP) and has a little heartbeat. Its tiny feet/buds were twitching away during the scan, which made me melt! The cyst is still big, no change, no big drama apparently but they're going to keep me closely monitored, including another scan next Wednesday.

So basically, quite a busy week - and now I have to explain to my boss why I've been taking so much time off. Not sure whether to just blame the epilepsy for now or let him know about the pregnancy. Argh, so much going on. And I'm off Friday to Tuesday for a big trip abroad with my parents, so goodness knows when my work will get done....

Hmm, sorry for the mammoth me-post! I will find some time to catch up with all your latest news as soon as I can. Smile

edinburghdancer · 06/05/2015 12:24

Chandlers - hope all goes well today.

Abi - I've been getting some cramps where if I just lie on my side (on the sofa watching TV) I'm fine! And I get to order DH around to make me tea.

I think my cover may be blown this morning. 2hour team meeting at work - had to leave once to pee and once to get something to drink as I was getting really naseaus. Straight out of meeting - had to wolf down a sandwich. What a morning!

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 06/05/2015 12:36

Sorry haven't posted for a while but not much change. I'm really not enjoying this at all! Apart from the hyperemesis my IBS has also flared up big time and I'm having excruciating bouts of diarrhoea Sad as well as all this terrible headaches which the doctor reassures me are hormonal.
Been signed off work til June and feeling a bit meh

Sweets27 · 06/05/2015 12:47

Oh sharon sorry to hear that, it sounds miserable. Have you got someone looking after you and bringing you tea? Can you do anything different with your diet to help the IBS? (Cake?!)

Sweets27 · 06/05/2015 12:51

And flora very glad your scan went well, how nice for you to have a moment of joy after the recent bad news! It's scary, isn't it, to think we'll never really be carefree again even if all goes well with the pregnancy. I suspect motherhood involves being constantly worried for your children.... !

FlorIxora · 06/05/2015 13:31

Sweets I know. That's it. I just see how much I love the bean already and I know I'm screwed for the rest of it. Grin I'm exhausted on your behalf just reading your update. I can't believe you saw the buds twitch. You made me tear up!

sharon So sorry you're so poorly. Who helps you manage your IBS normally?

ED Uh oh.. Yes you may have been sussed out.

I told my boss this morning. He came back from hols yesterday and announced his wife was expecting. I went all weird/emotional/shaky when he told me. I felt like shouting "me too!". So I told him this morning. He seemed to take it well. We're a two people team and they're due 7 weeks before me.

Chandlers I hope you have a good scan.
I insisted on having an internal one, the picture is so much better at this early stage than external. The sonographer tried externally first, but I just told her to go for it. After 10 yrs living in this country, I have been "interfered with" so often I am beyond caring or feeling shy. The dildo cam is the way to go Grin

The boobs have grown enough that I was almost weeping with pain last Wednesday and I did an emergency buy at M&S. I will go to Bravissimo for a proper fitting soon.

I am lathering in bio oil religiously every morning but my thighs are already sporting purple stretches.

ChandlersFarang · 06/05/2015 13:41

Thanks for the well-wishes everyone. I'm super happy to report I have a wee baby in there that dates around the same as my dates (they gave a range of 6w4d-7w5d and I make it 7+3 or 4!!) with a strong little heartbeat!! So fucking happy... I said to DH before we went in for the scan, "I really think there's something in there, but don't be annoyed with me if there isn't!!"... Was all feeling so surreal! Now am feeling reassured - seeing a heartbeat, at my age, with my history, means my mc risk has dropped to 4% which is just amazing. GrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

There was some not-so-good news though... two absolutely massive ovarian cysts measuring 5 and 7cms each! Fuck!!!!! They weren't there in Nov when I had my last infertility examination... Doctor seems quite chilled about it at least, and said we will keep an eye on them and hope thy have shrunk by my 12 week scan which is on 3 June - a month today. Eek!!!!!! Sweets, seems we are in a similar boat!!! How big is yours? Do you know what kind of cyst it is? Mine are on LHS and I suspect are to do with the ruptured follicle that I ovulated from. I felt myself ovulate from that side... And given I ovulated so rarely, have a feeling that was too much for my body to handle! Lol!! Confused

ChandlersFarang · 06/05/2015 13:42

Sweets I should have said, love that you had good news too!!! 9 weeks, fantastic! God knows what I'll see at my next scan but the waving sounds so adorable!!! GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

Metalhead · 06/05/2015 13:59

Great news on your scans flora, sweets and chandler!

Sweets27 · 06/05/2015 14:00

Oh chandlers, congratulations - I'm so glad it went well for you! What a massive relief.

Sorry to hear about the cysts, though. Mine is a bit bigger (although at least there's only one!), at 10x10 cm. It is apparently a simple haemorrhagic cyst, which means it's just one of the cysts from the ovary that has broken away and filled with fluid. They don't seem to think it is anything dodgy, and will most likely just sit there being cyst-like for a while. They also don't harm the baby or stop it growing.

As for what to do about it, sometimes they apparently just shrink and go away in due course, but if not, the docs can remove them after you have your baby. They usually prefer not to remove them during pregnancy because the operation can increase miscarriage risk. If they're particularly large, though, they will sometimes remove them when you're more than 14 weeks (so no need to make any tough decisions about them yet). The only reason you might want them removed is if they're causing you any pain (mine isn't), or if they twist. The twisting (torsion), from what I understand, involves your whole ovary getting twisted up and is extremely acutely painful so if that happens at some point then they have to remove the cyst straight away. Risk of that happening is apparently relatively low, though. So my plan is to sit tight, let them keep monitoring me and hope it starts shrinking!

FlorIxora · 06/05/2015 14:08

Chandlers I am very happy for you.

What are the risks in having a cyst? Can they be removed or managed?

MarkingMyPlace9 · 06/05/2015 14:25

Yay for everyone's good news on the Scans Grin Only 4 Weeks and 6 Days till mine!

FlorIxora · 06/05/2015 15:11

Sweets Thank you for the knowledgeable answer. I'll be doing ever more fx that the cysts behave for both you and Chandler.

Metal How are you feeling today?

Magickal Any news? Flowers

abi2790 · 06/05/2015 16:09

Right I am definitely getting a bump! Took ds swimming today and didn't know if my costume would fit me since we've not been for a while. It fit but I looked about 5 months pregnant in it! I haven't got a fat belly it's round like a bump so I can't just say I've been eating too much and put on some weight haha!

Congrats on the scan sweets and chandlers!

Metalhead · 06/05/2015 16:43

Flor I'm fine, thanks for asking! Well, still struggling with pretty bad nausea most of the time, but others on here have it much worse (maybe you got me confused with haribo? Grin)

Avasmum8 · 06/05/2015 17:22

Hello everyone can I join please? I am (provisionally) due 17th December, got my first BFP 9dpo hoping they can't change it too much!

So far I keep feeling so sick, unless I keep eating and my boobs have grown and feel horrendous especially taking bra off! I've got a DD who will be five next month and had a mmc 6months ago at 8 weeks exactly, tomorrow I'm 8 weeks and very anxious! Really want a private scan but DH isn't convinced at the moment. Sorry for the essay :)

Avasmum8 · 06/05/2015 17:24

Also on the bump front, I've got lots of padding round the middle! I used to be a size 6 until the mmc which left me with some 'padding' and now I've just added to it with this pregnancy! It looks funny because it's all round my lower tummy someone at work has even asked me if I am pregnant!

Metalhead · 06/05/2015 18:16

Welcome ava, I've also got a DD who turns 5 next month, and had a mmc last year. (Though mine was in Feb '14, took us a year to conceive again after that.)

Jebel · 06/05/2015 18:19

Such great news from Flor Chandlers Sweets, so magical to see the heartbeat. Hope cysts clear up.

Sweets you have had a pretty rough ride, hope the coming weeks are smoother but glad they are keeping a close eye on you.

Welcome Ava, hope you manage to convince DH, it is reassuring to get the scan.

I think I just look fatter rather than having a bump, just a bit of extra spread! Definitely showing earlier this time.
