Sending you get well wishes Haribo Flowers and hope things are ok now Chops
Spent the weekend with DH at my brother and sister in laws. Was lovely, they are very hospitable. Went to the London Coffee Festival and ate so so so so much! All I have done all weekend is eat. Feeling pretty knackered now and have a hectic week ahead at uni, how those with DC already manage I really don't know!

AmberLav · 04/05/2015 19:56

I'm starting to feel a bit more like normal for 7 weeks pregnant, so that's a strange relief! Looked out my old sea bands, as they just take the edge off and help me function, and it's been nice to be able to go for a nap on the long weekend... not looking forward to work tomorrow, as we're on holiday in 3 weeks time, and I've got too much to do, even functioning on all cylinders!

Haribo, please go see your gp, that sounds very much like hg, and if you can't move without vomiting, then you need support to get yourself through the next few weeks (hopefully it will just be a few weeks!)

Jodiesaurus · 04/05/2015 20:21

Sorry to all those suffering it's rubbish. I'm driving hubby mad at the moment as can't ever decide what to eat as I just don't fancy anything or it makes me gag! Mum has booked us in for a chocolate tea at the Hilton Mayfair this sat hoping I enjoy it! She booked it before I found out about this one taking my 10 year old dd I'm sure she will enjoy it!

Think I may try the bands they sound fab! Anybody else's hair fallng out? It seems like I'm losing loads especially when washing my hair!

Xx

edinburghdancer · 04/05/2015 22:39

Hello all - been getting some practice in babysitting my nieces (5 and 18 months). If I wasn't tired before, I am now!

But I got another patch of bleeding yesterday and it's been worrying me all day. Even though I feel horrendous. I'm worried the cramps aren't gas or stretching but something awful. How do you get rid of the worrying?!!?

Happy - was so chuffed to hear about your scan. Fabulous news and gives me hope.

Only 6 more days until our early scan. I've still got 4 pg tests so I'm keeping myself sane by peeing on a lot of sticks!

ChandlersFarang · 05/05/2015 05:40

Hang in there to your scan Edinburgh!! Distraction is the best you can do really, and sounds like you're keeping busy, so well done. I've got my scan tomorrow and can feel a wee bit of anxiety creeping in... Am preparing myself for the worst just to keep myself sane. Have seen my uterus on screens MANY times when having infertility investigations and it was always empty and I never got any good news at any of those appointments, so it's going to be a big one for me either way! Shock

Jebel glad you're enjoying Expecting Better, it's great isn't it!

Anyone else now so completely used to feeling nauseous that it's not really having as much impact day-to-day? It's been going on so long I've basically forgotten what it feels like to feel normal now which is for the best!! GrinGrin

Andifyoudontfirstsucceed · 05/05/2015 06:28

Morning all, morning all day sickness hit with a vengeance Saturday and I've been either sick or nauseous all bank holiday ?? back to work today and dreading it! Hubby thinks it'll take my mind off things fingers crossed it does - my pick from Friday's scan keeps me thinking it's all for the better good!

shinysparklythings · 05/05/2015 07:44

Morning! Sorry to those of you struggling with morning sickness.

Edinburgh fx and good luck for your scan.

It's been raining heavily all night so I barely slept and had to pee lots!
Tuesday is my busiest day at work but thankfully my top set 11's are just doing exam prep so I don't have to try and teach anything new!

Weird symptom- normally I get really bad hay fever and would seriously be struggling by now. Yesterday I was stood in the garden whilst the lawn was mowed and only sneezed 3 times! Am hoping this means bean is minimising my hay fever this year!!

Hope everyone survives Tuesday!

Serenity05 · 05/05/2015 08:15

Morning all! Hope everyone managed to have a good bank holiday. Everyone suffering with sickness has my full sympathy - mine has really stepped up a notch over the past few days. I was sick within minutes of getting out of bed this morning and now I'm on the bus and I can feel it coming on again. My muscles are aching from the strain of retching and my throat is raw. I can't eat anything slightly sharp or tangy without it feeling like sandpaper on my throat. I am really not looking forward to today...

I'm tempted to get some seabands but I know they'd raise questions at work and I'm not ready for that. Will definitely be getting some before I go to Italy at the end of next week though!

afloat · 05/05/2015 08:59

Hi lovelies. Flowers and Brew to everyone going through a hard time. This group is a real comfort to me! I've been retching but not properly sick (yet), had to q for a loo on the train on Saturday, absolutely trying not to get sick on the carpet. The tube this morning is gross, everything smells sooooo bad. We have an early scan in a week Grin.

Magickal · 05/05/2015 10:16

Morning all. Edinburgh, that sounds like a long wait. I'm bleeding today. Not much but bright red and a clot. Don't know what I'm meant to do. Have Dr apt this afternoon anyway so will mention it.

abi2790 · 05/05/2015 10:27

Good morning all. Sorry to those with bleeding/ spotting. I hope it's nothing to worry about.

I'm 9 weeks today! Only a few more weeks of agonising worry till I'm out of the panic zone!

ThreeBeanRap · 05/05/2015 11:25

Magickal what a worry, I hope you're ok. I'd agree to just wait til your doctor's appointment if you have one booked today anyway, but if it will help you feel better give them a ring and let them know and they might be able to fit you in earlier. I hope they're able to help - have you had any bleeding before?

Hummingbird15 · 05/05/2015 14:51

Hi everyone
Magickal hope the doc can reassure you this afternoon, and really hope everything is okay. And for everyone struggling with sickness, hope it starts to pass soon.
My nausea hasn't been too bad these last few days which is a relief. And the BH weekend was such a welcome treat - we did nothing all day Monday which was just so great!
We've booked a Harmony scan at 10+2, so have 2 weeks and 3 days to go until we can (hopefully, fingers crossed) hear a heartbeat and I am pretty much counting down the hours to that now! Just find I can't get at all excited about the pregnancy until I know there is definitely something there.

edinburghdancer · 05/05/2015 15:43

Oh Magikal, fx everything is OK and this is just a little blip.

Having been thinking about it and chatting to someone at work (I work for a big company and we are really lucky that we have an online infertility forum in work which is really useful), I've realised I might have a UTI. Has anyone else had a UTI while pregnant? I've had them before and usually just take cystitis powders until I feel better but I'd prefer to get this nipped in the bud. Except - damned doctors are not picking up their phone for me to make an appointment!!! Angry

ThreeBeanRap · 05/05/2015 15:57

edinburgh I have, and think I might be getting another one at the moment Angry

I don't think you can take the powders when pregnant, all the ones I looked at said not to. I went to the doctors (couldn't get an appointment either so went to a walk in) and they prescribed antibiotics for a week. Cleared it up fine, hope this one goes as easily! Do go asap as it can cause issues when pregnant if you leave it.

Hope you feel better soon, it's not great.

afloat · 05/05/2015 16:17

edinburgh I have gotten them quite a lot, but not while pregnant. I always get them if (TMI alert) I don't pee after sex and/or if I'm dehydrated, and unfortunately only antibiotics work to clear it up for me. Good luck with it.

magik I hope your doctor's appointment goes well.

Well, I have been sick of standing on the tube so ordered one of these Baby on Board badges that are commonly used to get a seat. I get post delivered to work (long story)... big mistake. Big, loud BUMP ON BOARD envelope, etc. The lovely woman who sorts post gave it to me discretely. Blush Blush Blush Blush

Hummingbird15 · 05/05/2015 16:50

Oh wow Afloat - thanks for the heads up on that one, how indiscreet of them!! Thank goodness the post person is discreet!

I could really do with a badge, but fairly regularly bump into colleagues on my commute, so just can't get one til I've told work anyway which is annoying! I travel 90 minutes each way and a seat in the mornings would be great!

edinburghdancer · 05/05/2015 17:13

Finally - docs appt for Thursday. Cranberry juice until then.

Oh dear afloat - how not to announce your news! That's brilliant!

I really want to wear one of those 'peeking out' t-shirts to announce our news to our family (we're going to wait until after our 12 week scan, just to be on the safe side as we've got lots of potential hurdles in the meantime!)

Metalhead · 05/05/2015 17:19

Hi ladies, I hope the spotting is nothing serious for those affected.

I've just had my booking in appointment and managed to get through it without any major wobbles. Even my blood pressure was normal, which I didn't expect given my recent experiences of white coat syndrome every time I've been to see my GP. Now counting down to my next private scan on May 14th...

Jebel · 05/05/2015 17:58

magik hope all goes ok, thinking of you x

edinburgh hope dr sorts you out and all ok. How amazing to have an infertility forum at work!

Chandlers very good luck with your scan.

haribo that sounds really bad, hope you see your gp and he / she is sympathetic

metal glad all went well

DD had a puking fest last night, I feel like I have graduated as a parent as not really experienced that before, not the greatest experience when hideously nauseous and knackered!

Withalittlesparkle · 05/05/2015 19:36

I will catch up properly later but I'm relieved to say that my bridesmaid dress fits! Bloody relieved!!

abi2790 · 05/05/2015 20:13

Having a bit of a panic. Got some quite strong cramps in my back. Lying down seemed to help though so I'm hoping it's nothing to worry about Sad

chopsface · 05/05/2015 20:16

Just so you know I'm now in Malta for the week so I'm not going to be able to catch up much. Can only get WiFi in the hotel lobby so prob spend an little while here each evening if I can persuade dh! Its flipping hot!

Hope the ladies with spotting are ok magic and someone else, sorry :-(

Hope you've seen a Dr re the sickness haribo

FlorIxora · 05/05/2015 22:01

Evening All,

I have tried to catch up as much as I could after my weekend of awful ulcer pain.

I am so sorry for those who have worrying symptoms. I cross my fingers that you get good news soon. xxx

I don't who asked when the worry ends, but this week end I came to this panic-inducing realisation: Whether this pregnancy works or not, I will never be completely carefree again, there's something about pregnancy that makes a dent in your "insouciance". I'm sure the trade off of a successful pregnancy is more than worth it, but it made me hyperventilate a bit.

So we had the early scan to day and I'm ecstatic to say the bean is the right size and all is a-ok (well it measures at 7w0d, and i'm 7w1d by dates). We also saw the heartbeat! I was not expecting this. We didn't cry we just beamed like eejits and thanks the sonographer as though they'd put the bean there themselves. The sonographer also showed us the little buds which will become arms and legs. I was gobsmacked.

I know it's an expense but I would definitely recommend it, it's made me more joyful and I feel more "legitimate". We also told my mum this evening and we spoke for an hour, as I suspected she completely sussed me out when I saw her 3 weeks ago. She is very happy and she did say it was nice in the midst of all the bad news.

So I will keep on cheering on the little bean and wait for the next scan. The question now is: to Harmony or not to Harmony? Your thoughts/opinions are most welcome.

ChandlersFarang · 06/05/2015 04:02

My we are a chatty lot! Love it. I always wake up to all your daytime chat in my weird time zone - gives me something to take my mind off the nauseous empty belly burps when I wake up! GrinGrin

shiny - if being pregnant halts hayfever I'm going to be a happy woman! I don't get it in Thailand but coming home to UK in June when I'm expecting it to be as horrendous as ever. Especially at Glastonbury where I will basically live in grass for 4 days. Arg!

Chops - have a fab time on holiday!!

Afloat - god I'm glad I have managed to bag this first trimester abroad and not having to get the tube, sounds gross!! And very good to know what the baby on board badge arrives in... Is it not possible to just pick one up from a station? Do they have to post it to you...?

Magikal - hope all went OK at your appointment yesterday and the spotting has stopped. What a worry.

Abi - congrats on getting to 9 weeks!! Currently crossing everything I make it to 8 on Saturday... One week at a time right... And hopefully out of this hellish phase before we know it... Yikes... Hope your cramps went away.

Jebel - I could not handle someone else's vomit right now! You're a strong woman!!

Flor - loved reading your post!! Huge congratulations on your scan... I've got mine later today and a bit scared nothing will be there but I guess that's normal from what everyone else is saying too! We will be asking about the nuchal, Harmony and 12 week scans today to get totally clued up - I think we will have every test going to be honest. Ultimately it depends on whether you would take any action if you got a positive result for a chromosomal disorder. We have already talked it through and know that we wouldn't go through with the pregnancy, so that's why we would have the tests. It's such a personal decision though (and not cheap!). I guess you have to weigh up what your priorities and preferences are.
