chandlers another odd side effect....

I'm loving the fatigue /insomnia mix been awake since 4am but shattered all day..

chopsface · 30/04/2015 07:52

sparkle I was massively bloated with wind last night and letting out some rippers, dh disowned me! I hope that's all yours was too x

I feel rough as a badgers arse this morning. Feel so sick and like I've not slept! Had some freaky dreams about 2 of my friends giving birth to twins that looked like mini aliens and then they turned into rats and I was trying to find them in a massive house full of other rats! Currently on the bus to work but wish I was in bed!

Metalhead · 30/04/2015 07:57

Good luck today jebel!

magickal my DD will be 5.5 when this baby is born so quite a big gap, though not as big as yours. I'm sure things will work out fine, there are pros and cons to any age gap and I think you just have to make the most of what you've got.

On top of my all-day sickness I've now also caught DD's cold, bleurgh! I shall be going straight back to bed after the school run...

FlorIxora · 30/04/2015 08:07

This must be week horribilis for everyone. I was so desperately uncomfortable yesterday. Really bloated, tired, irritable. I did manage to buy a "moomoo" from Gap and a very stretchy forgiving jersey dress from M&S. The latter I can wear for work. I think if I feel like this next week, when boss is back, I will have to tell him. I look rough and tired. I'm thinking HR will want to have a substance abuse chat with me soon. (Look like crap, can't concentrate, arriving late a few times in the same week)

Chandlers I see your badger and I raise you a bear's arse.

I went to the concert wearing the new T-shirt dress (I don't think they would sell any if they called it a moomoo) and slip ons. But staying out until 10 pm almost killed me.

shinysparklythings · 30/04/2015 08:09

Morning all! sparkle hope you are feeling better now and good luck for seeing midwife.

I have a pain/twinge in my stomach. It's just to the right of my belly button and I have had it on and off since I had my appendix out last year. So not mega worried but it's a bit disconcerting as I had a large ruptured cyst.

A week tomorrow till my booking in. The days are not coming quick enough! At least I'll already be 9+6 so hopefully won't be waiting to long for scan!

Had an awful nights sleep so feeling even more knackered and very glad I have two frees today! Grin

Sweets27 · 30/04/2015 09:19

Morning all! Hope those of you feeling sick start to feel better soon.

Did someone say they had a scan today? Fx all goes brilliantly!

shiny, like you I am knackered at the moment. Not sleeping brilliantly, and on top of that I've worked til midnight most nights this week. Urgh. Roll on a year of maternity leave. (That'll be easy, with lots of sleep involved, right? ...Right?!)

abi2790 · 30/04/2015 10:10

Morning everybody!

I've been so poorly today and yesterday. My whole body is aching, my legs and back are worst. It's not cramp it's like a feverish pain but I have no fever and don't feel like I'm coming down with the flu or anything. I think it's from exercise. I've had to stop going for my evening runs because I feel sick whenever I go but I still walk around 4 miles a day for the nursery run which I try to power walk to make sure I'm still getting plenty of exercise. I was in agony last night not being able to sleep, I woke up still a little achy but nothing major and now it's starting to come back! I read online aches and pains are normal in pregnancy but I can't cope with this for another 7 months! is anybody suffering with anything similar??

afloat · 30/04/2015 10:21

Morning all. Sorry to hear about people feeling crap, I was like that for a few days but I have picked up suddenly. It's amazing, I even enjoyed my dinner and washed the dishes last night! Unfortunately also had a first pregnancy fight with DP. I suggested getting a private early scan before we go home to my family, where we planned to tell them at 10 wks, my idea being that at least if all was good news from the scan we could celebrate a bit more with them. He dismissed it and I felt he didn't sympathise with me and it all got a bit nasty Sad Mostly fine today. Maybe I overreacted a bit.....

Jebel · 30/04/2015 11:16

Hello everyone! We have a heartbeat! Whoop! whoop!

Sorry to hear about all the symptoms and knackeredness. Me too.

afloat sorry to hear about DP being unsympathetic. I was so nervous before my scan and DH was getting cross with me which is just ridiculous! I find he just buries his head in the sand and assumes everything will be ok! Hope you manage to persuade him, is very reassuring to see the little flicker!

NicNak I have insomnia too, fall asleep early then wide awake at 2am!

Chandlers might well know them, it is a very small town! Never heard about sensitive hearing but everything else is so bloody sensitive so why not!

Being unemployed has its benefits, I think I am going to go and have a sleep.

FlorIxora · 30/04/2015 11:18

Afloat I would persist. my booking in appointment isn't until 10 weeks, no news of my scan, so I booked an early scan.

I keep reminding OH that I may sound completely racked with fear and irrational but that it'ss happening to my body.

I hope he sees the light. Fingers crossed for you :)

Glad to hear this awfulness may just improve at some point.

Sweets27 · 30/04/2015 11:31

Oh afloat sorry to hear about that. If I were you I'd definitely be wanting the scan before telling my parents. That is what I did last week - had scan at just over 7 weeks, before having dinner with my parents, and we'd decided we would only tell them if it had gone well (which it did!). I hope you manage to bring him round if you talk it through again.

Enjoy your sleep jebel!

afloat · 30/04/2015 11:44

Nice one, Jebel!! How many weeks along are you?

Thanks for the encouragement all. It's tough to put my foot down - the balance between us is delicate, and now that I'm the one who's pregnant and it's happening to me, while he's being very helpful and supportive usually, I think he also resents that I kinda get to call the shots and he has to take a back seat; I'm sure he would share the burden if he could. I couldn't get a reasonable excuse for not wanting an early scan - a mixture of fear and wanting to "stick to the plan" I think.

Jebel - glad to hear your scan went well today.

I'm feeling a bit frustrated today... I saw my GP just over 2 weeks ago who was great and talked me through the two local hospitals. She said to talk it through with DH and then when I'd made a decision on which I wanted to be referred to, call her secretary and she'd send the letter. So I called 2 weeks ago and was told they'd already sent the letter (thankfully to the hospital I had chosen!).

Then today I've just had a call from the secretary asking me if I've made a decision as they need to send the letter! She did apologise for the mistake that was obviously made, but it's quite frustrating!

At least it explains why I haven't had an appointment through... just hope it doesn't take too long!

Sweets27 · 30/04/2015 12:20

Oh jebel I completely missed you saying you had a heartbeat! Congratulations!! Smile

FlorIxora · 30/04/2015 12:43

Jebel Great news about your scan. Sorry to hear you are definitely unemployed :( I hope the financial benefits are not absolutely necessary to you, in which case maybe now's the time to relax and enjoy the quiet before the storm.

One thing I would like to achieve in my time off is to cook and freeze a month'smonth's worth of evening meals for the baby'sbaby's 1st month.

Sweets I have the same strategy. 7 wk scans and then (fx) announcements.

I just had to run for the bus. it was a bad idea.

edinburghdancer · 30/04/2015 13:36

Wow - so many posts and lots going on. Going waaaaaay back - Flor, I've also been 3 years of IVF and I've had friends cry when they tell me they're pg!!!! Confused Every baby is a blessing and while it reminded me I was sad for me, it didn't diminish my joy for them. And there's not a quota or something. It's not like they're telling me they stole my space in the queue for a baby!

Thank goodness it's a 4 day week next week. I'm a gubbed! No polite way to put it.

But I'm not helping myself as I'm so so worried at the same time. We know we are slightly higher risk bcoz IVF and (having read the stoma a jpouch research that the doctors seem to be oblivious to) I know that increases the risk too, so when I got some brown smudges when wiping on Tuesday night I freaked. Clinic say probably just side effect of the cyclogest but now I have cramps and I'm not sure if they feel the same as the cramps I was getting last week...... As if the normal insomnia wasn't bad enough before!

10 days until early scan. fx til then.

MarkingMyPlace9 · 30/04/2015 14:04

Just got my 12 Week Scan through - 09th June - 5 and 1/2 Weeks, ahhh so long away! Hope everyone is feeling better/good today xx

ThreeBeanRap · 30/04/2015 14:08

Congrats Jebel! How exciting to see the heartbeat Smile

I got my booking appointment today! Hurraaaaaay. It's not until 2 weeks tomorrow though, by which time I'll be 11+3 (is that quite late?!) but at least it's in the diary. And she did say because it's not til then, they have sent my scan request papers to the hospital today so that I can hopefully get a scan date soon. Given that they're being sent early I really hope I'll get one by the end of week 12 which would be lovely.

Jebel · 30/04/2015 16:27

edinburgh my first was an ivf baby and I bled loads for weeks but all was ok. I had a massive haematoma which didn't harm the baby but terrified me as I had bright red blood. I think it is more common with ivf.

Thanks for all the messages. I am 7 weeks exactly today. I have to confess to shedding a tear. After 5 years of infertility and finally having my DD via Ivf, to get pregnant again so easily without intervention is just wonderful.

I am not in uk so my care is obstetrician-led and means I get lots of scans, next one in 3 weeks. Also means I have no clue about booking in dates etc so no help there!

Out to dinner tonight. All close friends so have told them the news. I am taxi. Just hoping I can stay awake past 8:30!

PeppermintTee · 30/04/2015 18:13

Oh wow Jebel, when you said you saw a heartbeat, it really brought a tear to my eye. I'm 7 weeks exactly today as well. Congratulations, lovely news xx

FlorIxora · 30/04/2015 18:50

ED Thanks for the input.

Thank you all who have generously shared their stories of difficulties and fertility issues.

Jebel You made tear up too. Everything firmly crossed for you.

Nice to see that everyone is getting their bookings and scan planned.

Today has not been too awful symptom-wise. (So now of course I am worried)

How's everybody feeling?

chopsface · 30/04/2015 18:52

Congrats on the heartbeat jebel! Where in the world are you to get all this wonderful care?

Hope you feel better soon metal! Still can't believe we are on the same AN thread after our year of infertility together! Crazy world! Have you popped in on the old thread to see how the others are doing?

tammie49 · 30/04/2015 19:00

Wow!! I've not been on for a few days and loads has gone on! I couldn't even begin to catch up with everything.
I was 7 weeks on Monday and nausea's really kicking in. It's like that feeling you get when you're so hungry you feel sick so I feel like I'm eating more. I haven't actually been sick. Found eggs in the morning are good. Before I was pg I used to go to the gym a lot before work but I feel so tired and want my eggs!! any tips on how I can get back into exercise? I've had a chest infection and I'm asthmatic so been out of action anyway. was thinking of a jog round the block tomorrow morning. feeling fat and it's clearly not baby yet!!

chopsface · 30/04/2015 19:33

Sounds like a lot of you were fit and healthy before your bfps! I can't even think about exercising at the moment I'm so sick and tired! I'm missing my Zumba though. I didn't really do a great deal, yoga on Mondays, Zumba on Saturdays and a swim or 2 in the week. As I've mentioned before I've not put on any weight yet, I've lost it! Chandler said exercise helped her nausea but yeah first thing I need to struggle down some food to stop the nausea. Shreddies as I vommed up my usual porridge and can't face it again!
