Flying is fine, chops... The only risks involved with flying are a tiny amount of radiation (but a long haul flight from Asia to UK would only use up 15% of the total allowance you have for the entire pregnancy) and the usual risk of thrombosis you'd get without being pregnant (obvs worse if you're pregnant though like anything else). Just make sure you walk around at least once every half hour. I flew to Korea, then Vancouver, then back to Portland, then back over to Tokyo and then bangkok last week!! And nothing to report. I wore those sexy compression flight socks too. Oh and sat on something soft like a flight pillow in case of a bumpy landing!

Jebel · 29/04/2015 17:10

Welcome to all the newbies. Hummingbird we have the same due date.

FlorIxora I took 5 years to conceive first time so I was often in your friend's shoes. I hated it when other people made too much of a meal of telling me as there were times I wanted to be able to retreat and have a little cry but was stuck with that person for hours. However, most of the time I was just delighted, I wanted my own baby, not someone else's. If she feels you have confided in her then she might feel better.

Chandlers good to hear Phuket should be ok at this time of year. Definitely going swanky with a/c, have lived in Mid East for many years and can't cope outside my perfectly controlled a/c environment of 21C! I plan to do a lot of sleeping and eating while DH plays with DD in the pool. Thanks also for recommendation of Bangkok hospital, have been to their hospitals twice before and ended up with super strong painkillers that I have carried around the world in a first aid kit only to find out they are Class A drugs in most countries!

Chops I lost loads of weight in 1st trimester last time. This time just gorging myself so expect it will be the opposite!

Hello to everyone else.

Scan tomorrow morning, keep everything crossed for me! xx

Jodiesaurus · 29/04/2015 18:07

I feel awful again today I seem to feel sick all day but more so in evening. Can't look at most foods at the moment. Living on fruit juice bread and jelly everything else turns my stomach. I'm 6+3 today. Hugs to all those feeling sick x

Serenity05 · 29/04/2015 18:14

Fingers and everything else crossed, Jebel!

I feel so awful today - I'm absolutely exhausted, I overslept this morning and didn't get out of bed until the time I'm usually at the bus stop (luckily the busses are very regular!) and I haven't stopped feeling sick all day. It doesn't help that work is completely manic at the moment. I want to wait until my 12 week scan to tell everyone at work but I'm thinking I might have to tell a couple of trustworthy people early cos if I keep feeling like this, I don't know how long I can hide it.

Welcome and congratulations, Magickal!

chopsface · 29/04/2015 18:34

I've had to tell far more people at work than I thought I'd need to due to having to get out of certain tasks. So because now I can't do certain things everyone is going to notice and guess! (doesn't help having seasickness bands poking out of the bottom of my sleeves and nibbling on my dinner with a green palour to my skin) Mind you when other colleagues have announced their 12 weeks I've never had an inkling! How did they do that?! Maybe people dont really pay as much attention as you think they do?

AmberLav · 29/04/2015 20:10

chopsface - when I was pregnant with my second, I was amazed that no one had noticed my incredibly obvious sea bands! And that was with being sick in the loos a few times. So yes, plenty of people are very unobservant! It was September, so I wasn't wearing sleeves often...

NicNak22 · 29/04/2015 20:28

Chops more people at my work know than in my home life due to changing roles (as I've mentioned to yo) every one in my role will guess when they see me doing something else so hopefully they will have the courtesy not to mention it Sad

HariboBrenshnio · 29/04/2015 20:31

Whoever mentioned boobs hurting, I'm there! I have to hold my breathe when I take my bra off as it hurts so much. I had to hold them when I walked down the stairs as jiggling hurts. Poor DP brushed against them and I screamed. I'm laid in bed on my side and so far no pain but if I sit up they are killing me.
My appetite is also all over the place. Really fancied cake this morning at soft play, had 3 spoonfuls and couldn't have anymore. Tea has been a bowl of cereal.
Energy levels are at an all time low. DP asked me when I might join him again downstairs on an evening but at the moment I'm so tired I'm coming to bed at 8 and dozing on and off until a deeper sleep when he comes to bed. DS is such a bundle of energy that by 4pm I'm really flagging.
Roll on 2nd trimester when last time I got my energy back!

Welcome to the newbies!!

TerryTheGreenHorse · 29/04/2015 20:36

Welcome Amber, I also have a 2yo and a 4yo.

I'm a BIT scared! Grin

WaitingForEgg · 29/04/2015 20:38

Haribo boobs here are the same. I usually run in the morning... Tried to do a power walk wearing a sports bra and was wincing from movement, at this rate I'll end up lounging on the sofa at every opportunity!

chopsface · 29/04/2015 20:49

I had some chocolate cake earlier that someone had brought into work. It tasted like fish Hmm the icing was alright though!

AmberLav · 29/04/2015 20:51

Hi Terry, I get worried every time, as it's hard to remember the last time I was pregnant, other than a series of high anxiety bits!

Withalittlesparkle · 29/04/2015 21:32

I completely emptied my stomach after tea Hmm I've since had a fish finger sandwich but feel awful

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 29/04/2015 21:33

Had a letter today for booking appt- 25th may which if I'm correct is a bank holiday? Will be nearly 12 weeks then.
Thought I'd beat this damn hyperemesis. I actually fancied a mcdonalds breakfast wrap today and had one. All was well until about 5pm today and urghhh it's back with a vengeance.
I've lost about ten pounds in weight over the past couple of weeks which I need but urghh

Magickal · 29/04/2015 21:53

I was wondering if any of you have older children? I will have a ten year age gap between my two. I can't imagine how this is going to work. Ds has been desperate for me to have a baby but I fear the reality may be different...

Sorry people are being so sick. Horrid. Thankfully, I've escaped with mild queasiness and general lack of appetite so far. There is nothing I fancy to eat which is most unlike me.

AhoyMcCoy · 29/04/2015 21:54

Another one tentatively joining! ?? to all those earlier in the thread with losses - have been there and send positive vibes you join another bus soon.

Have no idea how far along I actually am - have not long stopped breastfeeding 9 month old DD and my periods hadn't returned yet, and suddenly was hit by nausea, sore boobs, constant tiredness etc. had a positive test and GP sent me for a blood test to see my HCG levels to date me, but I reckon 5-7 weeks ish because of my symptoms. Still on maternity leave - work are NOT going to be pleased with me returning with a tiny bump Grin

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 29/04/2015 22:10

Magikal my two will be 9 and 11 when this ones born

LabMonkey · 29/04/2015 22:21

I ate fruit today - that did not end well! At least I'm just nauseous this time with both DD I was being sick a lot. I'm 6+2 now so hoping if it doesn't get worse this week this'll be it.

Magickal · 29/04/2015 22:48

glad it's not just me with a big age gap then, Sharon!

ChandlersFarang · 30/04/2015 01:25

WaitingFor, I've totally sacked off running because of my boobs too. Absolutely killing with any bounce so have self-relegated to the exercise bike. Quite annoying actually as I was getting some really good times before I got my BFP. It feels really weird going to the gym and not being able to totally go for it in there, but I guess I'll get used to it!

Chops - fish-tasting choc cake?! that is absolutely minging. I was gutted yesterday to discover I've gone off milk chocolate - I'd smuggled some
Mini eggs home from the UK on my last trip, opened them yesterday but only managed 2 and haven't gone back for more - they were just too sickly?! That's a first, those things are like crack for me normally!! Grin

Jebel - one of my best friends emigrated to Qatar with her family last year and absolutely loves it! I wonder if you know each other - lol!! Wink And yes thai doctors absolutely love handing out the strongest drugs available. DH went to see one about migraine and came home with a bag full of knockout-strength Xanax!! Shock Has got us through many a long haul flight since... Lol... Not an option for me anymore though ConfusedConfusedConfusedConfusedConfused

Smelling salts to all the pukey ladies!! Thanks I'm getting on top of my nausea a bit better now but assuming it's going to get worse next week from what I've read. Will HOPEFULLY be 7 weeks from this weekend... Eek...

Withalittlesparkle · 30/04/2015 02:35

Is anyone up? I'm in so much pain Sad I feel like my stomachs about to explode! What do I do? I guess there's nothing I can do?

ChandlersFarang · 30/04/2015 03:19

I'm up! I'm sure it's just trapped gas or something like that? Otherwise... If you're in proper pain I think the main thing you should check for is an ectopic at this stage? Maybe Google a reliable source and check for what the symptoms would be? Honestly though I've had a few bad nights that I think we're caused by trapped wind!!hope you start feeling better soon, hugs!!! Xxxxxx

NicNak22 · 30/04/2015 06:10

sparkle Monday night I was in agony, I'm still hoping it was trapped wind as it had gone now but the pain I was in scared me that it was something worse.

However I did ease off over night and I've had no bleeding so I'm hoping for the best.

Withalittlesparkle · 30/04/2015 06:31

Thanks ladies, seems to have completely gone now, except a slight twinge. Was really horrid though. Midwife tomorrow which will make me feel better because I'll know where I'm meant to go

ChandlersFarang · 30/04/2015 06:53

Phew! Glad it went away!! Smile

So this is weird - my hearing has changed!!! I was having a mix at home last night and all the tracks sounded weird - I'm quite crap at it and thought I had one of the settings wrong but couldn't work it out. Then this morning on the way to the gym my iPod headphones were WAY too loud - I had to turn it down loads below the usual level. Got me wondering so I googled it and apparently getting sensitive hearing can be a pregnancy thing!!! How fucking mental is that?!?! ShockShock
