The cow's name is Ursula broody. It's quite a love it or hate it name but I have always adored Ursula Andress in Dr. No and it's definitely outside the top 100.

I think for boys names, a top 100 name is hard to avoid. There are just fewer boys' names and I think it's harder for a boy to carry off an unusual name.

broodylicious · 02/05/2015 19:52

Oh I'd never have had that down as a cow's name! How'd he think that? Clover or daisy maybe but not ursula! I defo agree with boys being trickier to name - we have a short list of three but really we only love one of them so it's likely to be that. Our neighbours have two boys, aged nine and five, who are called Heston and Hadley - such unusual names but they really really suit them. Not ones I'd choose, I hasten to add, but they are totally right for the family.

just succumbed to royal fever and bought my little one the shawl the baby princess was wrapped in when they left the hospital Blush Hmm

JoY007 · 03/05/2015 08:06

Morning Ladies xx

Charlie how strange, I want to as well Grin where did you get it from if you don't mind me asking?

Loved the duchess's look but she should have stuck to some nice LKBennet pointy flats. I have them and they are very cute and stylish. I found her high heel moment overdone! This is coming from a lady that is a heel lover btw Smile
She looked great, and hoping we all have time to make ourselves look that lovely.

Nursery painted, chest of drawers not up yet, room looks very bare at the moment. At least I can have the snuzpod delivered. Hope to complete by end of today.

How is everyone doing? My wrist is killing me, and does not help its my right hand, difficult to leave it completely idle Sad. Off to do some morning yoga to stretch out those sore muscles Wink

Clstow · 03/05/2015 08:45

Totally agree about boys names Zampa. We've managed to come up with 3 outside the top 30 - I was keen to go out of top 100 but we just couldn't find any we agreed on. Think my OH is more traditional than he'd like to admit!

slightlyconfused85 · 03/05/2015 09:35

Hello all not posted in ages. Feeling absolutely grim this weekend at 29 weeks. Put on tons of weight and so bone achingly tired that I can barely do anything with DD. Just having a third trimester moan really- looking forward to having baby soon! Smile

Zampa · 03/05/2015 10:01

I would kill to look like K-Mid on most days, let alone half a day after giving birth Joy. Loved her dress.

Broody DP is totally random when it comes to name associations which is making choosing one very difficult! Apparently Alexandra is a golden retriever's name! CL Names outside the top 30 is good going for a boy's name!

Slightly It probably doesn't help, but I think we're all feeling a bit rubbish ATM. Currently on holiday and sleeping 10-12 hours a night (albeit interrupted) and still exhausted by the end of the day. I've no idea how those of you with DC cope.

Zampa · 03/05/2015 10:09

P.S. K-Mid's dress is bespoke Jenny Packham and the shawl is from GH Hurt.

fattymcfatfat · 03/05/2015 10:44

my DSs name is outside top 40. DS2 will be outside top 50.
DD on the other hand can't be found even searching top 1000 Grin

smallgreenbanana · 03/05/2015 10:57

We will be using a shawl that my gran knitted for me (so LO's great gran!) ! Quite similar in style to one on the new princess. When my parents brought it over the other week it made me emotional - 4 generations of the maternal line, blub! Grin

meeskamooska · 03/05/2015 11:03

I can't even believe how good, slim and healthy Kate looked coming out of hospital! I had convinced myself that everyone was wrong about her due date, and she was actually only about 7 months like us. I really believed that! But obviously I was wrong, she just managed to do pregnancy and birth a hell of a lot more stylishly than me. Bless her, I can't help but like her and William. They've really improved the public's opinion of the Royal Family.

I feel pretty enormous and tired too slightly, it's very hard to get anything done, and my children always seem to be able to pick up on when I'm not feeling good and are extra naughty... thanks kids.

Does anyone else get a sore crampy tummy when they do too much? After a busier day my belly feels so heavy and hard and uncomfortable. I did lots of tidying and sorting yesterday and felt awful in the evening. It's not as bad as labour or anything so I suppose it's just my body saying 'rest'.

Aretepetite · 03/05/2015 11:10

Hey all

Just checking in, busy as usual here. Have read bk, glad to hear everyone is doing well/getting organised. Other than feeling v v uncomfortable all is well with lo and me.
FlowersCake&Brew for everyone suffering. I think we are doing ok in the whole. My MW said it was likely a man who proclaimed that heartburn, sickness, carpal tunnel, heamarroids (sp) so on and so forth, are 'minor' preg ailments Wink

Glad your sil is back home must x

And not in the slightest envious Zampa Grin

Always good reading your info Jmojo think you may have found your calling for Panama !?!

Garden work being done here amongst everything else ! Will be worth it when it's done.

Happy bank holiday, hope you all gave a good 1 xx

smallgreenbanana · 03/05/2015 12:17

meeska yup sore crampy tummy when I've overdone it. Try to do things in bursts. Also I've found that eating only small frequent meals rather than 3 proper ones helps with general feeling of discomfort. It's frustrating to feel ravenous but only eat a bit!

Have a good weekend folks :) Looks like better weather tomorrow.

charlieis30 · 03/05/2015 12:23

as zampa said it is from gh hurt. got it without too much trouble from their website last night. They have lots of lovely looking shawls.

Trying to convice DH that we should splash out on a nice christening gown to create our own family heirloom, but he's pretty strong that no son of ours will be wearing a dress! will probably do it for the first one, a girl, anyway!

broodylicious · 03/05/2015 17:23

Oooh fatty, care to share dd's name? All friends here!

OP posts:
fattymcfatfat · 03/05/2015 18:16

Bernadette. she is named after my mum. it's probably more popular in Ireland but the lists I found for the UK don't list it at all.

broodylicious · 03/05/2015 19:06

Aaah I went to school with a Bernadette - she was so lovely and kind. I remember she was quite headstrong when people chose to call her Bernie as she really didn't like that and didn't mind telling them they were wrong!

JoY007 · 03/05/2015 19:48

So here goes the work so far re nursery, sort of coming together Smile still got my clothes in the lounge Hmm

fattymcfatfat · 03/05/2015 19:54

joy that's lovely.
broody my mum winds my DD up by calling her Bernie. she is only 16 months and already shouts "I berdette!" Grin she can't quite say her own name bless her.

JoY007 · 03/05/2015 20:01

Thanks fatty the name Bernadette is lovely, very different, and I agree to not shortening it.

smallgreenbanana · 03/05/2015 21:18

That's very cute joy what a lovely choice!

meeskamooska · 03/05/2015 21:37

They're sweet JoY
I wish I had a little nursery to decorate! But this one will be in my room, then sharing with siblings.

I've eaten too close to bedtime again tonight, I want to lie down now but I can't yet due to heartburn and reflux. Why do I do it to myself?! Sad

Fattycow · 03/05/2015 22:04

We have managed to pick names that aren't in the top 100. Smile

Fattycow · 03/05/2015 22:04

Joy, that looks so cute!

MrsFbabyNo1 · 04/05/2015 10:24

JoY that's really lovely.

I've had quite a chilled extended bank holiday which has been lovely! but MrF has not, whoops!

He has been dismantling our massive bifold doors between the lounge and garden room (I.e. the extension) and converting them into two outer fixed and two middle sliding doors. This involves lots of packing out with extra wood frame, measuring, router, planer, etc etc. I don't have a clue what he's doing so can't help just keep him well fed n watered! But I'm taking him for lunch and a walk later to give him a break.

I'm off to potter in garden now. Wink

Hope everyone's having a good day.
