That looks amazing JoY :)
Is anyone else starting to get the uncomfortable movements yet? It feels like the poor little guy is running out of wiggle room here Confused some movements actually make my stomach feel sore now. Just had a lovely relaxing weekend staying at mils and hoping to go for a wander around town (have an ice cream) and possibly BBQ later :)

Clstow · 04/05/2015 12:35

Looking great JoY
I've just hit third trimester and movements aren't uncomfortable, but I'm definitely getting more tired. Plus getting pains in my lower abdomen/groin when I walk too far. Not looking forward to becoming less and less mobile.

I wanted to ask a FTM questions - there's been some chat on the FB group about this, but would be good to hear from you guys... What clothes will you take for your LO in your hospital bags? I'm still a bit confused as to when the baby wears vests, and when sleepsuits are better. Or do they wear both at once? Confused

fattymcfatfat · 04/05/2015 12:54

both at once unless it is too hot then just one or the other depending on temperature etc.

fattymcfatfat · 04/05/2015 12:57

in my bag I have 5 vests, 3 sleepsuits (I have a habit of being kept in) and two outfits. one with shorts in case it's really hot the other with long pants (for travelling home) plus hat, socks, bibs etc.

broodylicious · 04/05/2015 12:59

clstow, I've commented on fb but just to say here too - in my hospital bag, clothes will be purely functional, so vests and sleepsuits with a cotton hat, cardi (either knitted or cotton) and blanket or two. Although we are expecting July to be scorchio, you can still get chillier days and babies can't regulate their own temperature so IMO/E, best to dress for comfort on that first ever time that baby will feel outdoor air on his/her gorgeous little face. As for clothes for me, it'll be either long skirt or yoga pants with a comfy bfing top with cardi in case of chill. Comfort is king for me tooSmile

Hello Ladies,

Thanks for the comments. Smile

Tummy not sore for me or perhaps I am focusing on other pains! My pelvis hurts, I am beginning to walk funny. Cat poses and downward dog seem to help, but not practical when at work Hmm.

More stuff done today for the nursery, put up the hanging pegs.
Now off to Wimbledon village for some retail window therapy Grin DP is grouchy and quite frankly I want some girly me time so works well Grin.

Enjoy the rest of the bank holiday with your feet up Wink xx

charlieis30 · 04/05/2015 15:05

Thanks for the advice on hospital bags... i find the whole thing incredibly confusing.

Mat nurse has recommended I start with 8 vests and 8 sleepsuits. But then she said she normally recommends nighties for night as no poppers in case of nappy changes, and for day she said I should try to get baby charlie into "real" clothes asap ie not just sleepsuits as it will help teach the baby day/night. Also not really sure what a sleepsuit is... long sleeved and long legged onesie with inbuilt feet yes? And if I'm olanning to swaddle at night what do I put under the swaddle? I dont want to under-or over-buy.

Hmm

Royal Baby is Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge.... Charlotte is a good name Wink

Thepurplegiraffe · 04/05/2015 15:25

Hi all
Just checking in as I have been away for a week without much internet access. I was hoping to feel rested but instead feel completely knackered and am not looking forward to the return to work tomorrow.
Charlie sleep suits are the same as babygros, as you say with long legs/arms etc. I'm not sure why someone would say to get them out of them during the day, they are so practical and comfy for baby and we found that just changing them in the morning was fine to distinguish between day and night. Each to their own though, I, like Broody, am all about practicality and comfort, for me and baby.

Thepurplegiraffe · 04/05/2015 15:26

Charlotte is a good name! I keep mentioning it to DH but he really doesn't like it, just because he knows people he doesn't like who have it.

charlieis30 · 04/05/2015 15:30

Elizabeth is on our shortlist of 2 (its my preference, DH likes the other) but its so classic I'm not bothered if we use it too!

smallgreenbanana · 04/05/2015 15:38

Charlotte was popular when I was at school (so brings to mind certain people) but I like the name and it's on my long list. But I'm confident we won't end up using it as there are other front runners.

Finished the first coat of paint in the nursery - so excited and happy. Grin Such a cliché - pregnant woman painting. Just missing the dungarees!! The room now looks like the sky, and I'm thinking of getting a clouds light shade. Then we have the stickers to complete the woodland glade. Wish adults got to have fun rooms!!

Charliej86 · 04/05/2015 15:39

Woo I'm a princess! X

JoY007 · 04/05/2015 15:50

I love the name Charlotte Smile.

charlieis30 · 04/05/2015 15:54

Inexplicably i hated Charlotte growing up, i always preferred my sister's name! It's difficult to shorten, I always hated "Char" so these days I'm mostly Charlie or Charlotte. It's one of the reasons I like Elizabeth for our DD, there are so many short versions she can pick from depending on who she wants to be!

Clstow · 04/05/2015 15:56

Charlotte is a lovely name, and will no doubt have a massive surge in popularity now... I wonder if the royal baby will mean we see lots of Dianas born this summer as well.

Clstow · 04/05/2015 15:57

Ooh and thanks to all for hospital clothes advice Smile

broodylicious · 04/05/2015 16:10

Yeah I agree purple, not sure why on earth anyone would recommend getting baby out of sleepsuits so early! It takes six to eight weeks (maybe more, my brain is sleep deprived, so I can't quite remember what the "experts" say!) for them to naturally work out the difference between day and night so getting them into outfits won't change that. And why would you want to anyway? suddenly dreading the possibility of seeing that vile gina ford/"you're in charge, not baby"/"don't spoil baby by picking them up and giving them attention and love"/"get them in a routine from birth" bullshit mentioned

Charlie I didn't like my name growing up either, I'm still not overly keen n tend to go by Charlie. A few people call me Lottie which I also don't like but only for me, I actually quite like Lottie as a name.

charlieis30 · 04/05/2015 16:19

take everyone's point on the sleepsuits, i dont think it was that, more "you're having a girl so why not have fun with all the outfits "!

Fattycow · 04/05/2015 16:49

I went swimming today. Excellent to sooth many aches, as the water lifts the weight of your bump!

meeskamooska · 04/05/2015 17:19

I've packed 3 sleepsuits and 3 vests, and 2 hats in my hospital bag, I think that should be fine. And a blanket. No fancy going home outfit here.

How can I join the Facebook group also please?

Fattycow · 04/05/2015 17:34

We have 'proper' outfits for baby. As in, it is a shirt with pants. But nice and soft and easy to put on/take off. More like pjs than real clothes, in my opinion.

jmojo · 04/05/2015 18:05

meeska pm misseskimo, and I can't remember who the other two are who can add you it is either naty1 or natanotherone, and someone else....I would go for the first one!!

Zampa · 04/05/2015 18:34

I'm very relieved with the name choices for the new princess. Charlotte and Diana are already taken in the family and as Charlie has said there are so many diminutives for Elizabeth that it wouldn't matter.
