Ooh lucky you zampa! Is it local to you? I'm off to a spa on Tuesday, was a Mother's Day present from dh and dd, can't wait.

Found this on my pg app today. I've had RLS for months now!

RLS is an odd one, isn't it Broody. Didn't realise the link with caffeine though. Always under my 200mg but might try a bit less.

Spa is in Newmarket so have been in London for the past 2 nights (to watch my football team get relegated Sad) and on the train there this morning. Back off North tomorrow but then Tenerife for a week on Tuesday. It's a hard life!

Enjoy your spa trip Broody. Good present!

broodylicious · 26/04/2015 08:41

That's the thing though, I haven't had caffeine for months either. Tiny bits of chocolate every now and then but hardly enough to make a difference because it still makes me sick!

So sorry to hear of football woes. My team is doing well but still causing frustration. DH's team is hanging on by the skin of their teeth!

I'm off to a charity ladies day today. Me and 10 others drinking on 1 table for 6 hours, fun for me. Hopefully it will be a lovely day tho. Fingers crossed my dress fits, it did on Monday!

Fattycow · 26/04/2015 11:15

I feel like a hippo, with all the fluids I'm retaining...

JoY007 · 26/04/2015 13:53

Hello Ladies,

Artepetite thanks, nightout was great fun had a lovely time.
Enjoyed the glamming up, bought a sized up dress and wore my rouge brilliant red lippy.

Was unable to stay longer and enjoy the band because of limited sitting area and I was in 5 inch heels Grin. Had my 1 glass of red in 9 months Smile.

My sleep is difficult and uncomfortably as well. Several pillows not really helping. Watching TV is the same all sofas n chairs are uncomfortable Sad sometimes standing is the most comfortable.

JoY007 · 26/04/2015 15:00

This is me Grin

DH is away so spending day in bed in front of the tv watching all the shows he hates Grin
Also just opened my first box of nappies, bought in the tesco sale. Can barely work out which way is front but I guess I will get used to it?!?

charlieis30 · 26/04/2015 16:57

I'm still sleeping pretty well, but I keep waking up on my back (even with the mountains of pillows) and freaking out about the baby.

Fattycow · 26/04/2015 18:49

Sleeping on your back is fine, charlie. If your position isn't right for the baby, you will automatically move to another one.

charlieis30 · 26/04/2015 21:14

thanks for the reassurance fatty. guidance online seems to be "just roll back on your side " but i do seem to be finding myself on my back multiple times in the night!

Fattycow · 26/04/2015 22:14

I think the main concern is that you could squash your own organs, as the womb is on top of them. But your body is designed to protect itself, so if that happens, you roll over. It is just instinct.

jmojo · 27/04/2015 01:11

The main concern is that you will squash your blood supply to your body and thus to the baby, causing a drop in your blood pressure and a slowing of the baby's heart rate. It is more noticeable in labour during contractions, research into it recently in non labouring women showed it happened much less than was previously thought. Generally you will feel dizzy/funny first, so don't worry and just roll over, to the left if you are dizzy as this clears your blood supply most efficiently. Recently there has been speculation about liver being squished if you lie on your right but I haven't seen anything that would make me worry about that.

LaLaLaaaa · 27/04/2015 07:12

My Physio explained it all to me the other day. I woke up on my back a few weeks ago and threw up when I sat up and felt dizzy. She said it is down to a blood vessel being restricted when you lie on back and next time to roll onto side first.

charlieis30 · 27/04/2015 07:54

Thanks team! That's reassuring. :)

smallgreenbanana · 27/04/2015 08:13

joy that is me too - thanks for that, very funny Grin

Zampa · 27/04/2015 08:28

Morning! I strongly urge those of you with the time/money/inclination to go to a spa. I had a wonderful lower leg massage that shifted so much of the retained fluid, it was amazing. I'm definitely heading back to one before the birthday.

Fleurchamp · 27/04/2015 09:08

Morning all

Just catching up!

I am off to a spa at the end of May, cannot wait! Having a massage and a facial.

Touch wood, I am not having trouble sleeping. I seem to get into bed and pass out from exhaustion. I have been doing a lot recently and not getting much rest during the day.

I do get restless legs though. I am having my GTT at the moment and keep getting told off by the nurse for walking around Sad but sitting still is just uncomfortable!

We looked into a doula and visited a couple but by the time my DH ummed and aged about it they were both fully booked for our dates. I have said that I will be spending the money saved on myself Grin

broodylicious · 27/04/2015 12:50

Really pleased you enjoyed the spa break zampa. Can't wait for mine tomorrow now, will defo be asking for a concentrated massage on my lower legs, ankles and feet.

fleur, doesn't the RLS bother you at all at night? I had about two hours sleep last night because mine was so horrific. Miserable :(

Just had a call from the mw - my iron count was 99 and ideally she wants it to be 105 or above by time baby comes so I've a lovely prescription for iron supplement tablets and then need to have a repeat blood test in two weeks. Not way off what it should be but defo pleased it's been picked up. Bring on the constipation and then black poo...Confused

Booked in for a back care in pregnancy session to boost my physio referral today (current wait time is 4-8 weeks Sad) GTT tomorrow and so nervous, I hope they don't tell me to sit down cause my back will go lol! All these spa days sound marvellous, I'm booking in with my friend (qualified massage therapist) for a mama-to-be massage session next week, then going back towards the end for aromatherapy and another massage Grin I can't wait!

broodylicious · 27/04/2015 13:43

Oh and after three weeks of not being sick (but still feeling dodge quite often), what's the deal with it coming back now?! 28 flippin weeks and it wants to return?! Grrrr.

OP posts:
charlieis30 · 27/04/2015 14:05

I'm having issues in my glutes or joint and it's absolutely miserable. My normal exercise is walking and pilates but both are pretty uncomfy at the moment. I see a chiro/osteo regularly anyway but have had to up my sessions. Bad case of Mondayitis today... no motivation to work, really tired, can't work out what I want to eat and glutes hurting. I just keep thinking "oh man, do I have to do this another 3 months?"

jmojo · 27/04/2015 14:51

broody I don't know if it has been mentioned on here but it is beginingt to be thought that iron supplements can help restless leg syndrome.

Number3cometome · 27/04/2015 16:18

Hi all, it's been a while.

So far:

  1. I'm 2.5 stone up in weight
  2. My ankles sometimes resemble part of my calf muscle
  3. SPD is a bitch, but only some days
  4. I smell of pee
  5. I need to pee a lot, especially at night
  6. My face and hair look pretty good, skin is nice, hair is long and thick
  7. I have low iron, so sometimes feel tired and my pooh is black from the tablets

Happy 3rd trimester Grin

broodylicious · 27/04/2015 18:17

Well, we'll soon find out jmo as I'll be on the iron tabs. Just eaten spinach with my pasta so fx my reading will go up with diet tweaks and the tabs.

Said I'd never complain about any to do with pregnancy as it's such a blessing to be making a life... But limited sleep due to RLS, SPD and bump starting to get uncomfortable is making it a bit tricky to keep to my word!
