sherbet, I'm sure the jab will be fine.

broodylicious · 21/04/2015 07:25

sherbert, what's the bargain app you use and how do you find out which stores have that perfect prep in stock for £25. I'm in Leicester, which I'm sure you southerners would call north as we're above Watford Wink??

Broody I think it was on hotdeals UK.

smallgreenbanana · 21/04/2015 08:02

broody those animals are adorable!

Thanks for your opinions on the baby monitor. I think we will wait until after the birth as we will be keeping her with us for naps etc. But I'm feeling more convinced about the video now, to save us climbing all those stairs for a sleepy snuffle!

Thepurplegiraffe · 21/04/2015 08:23

Broody you are indeed very far NorthGrin

I'm thinking about buying the Tommee Tippee micro sterilizer as it's on sale at Tesco... Does anyone know if you can put any brand bottles in a micro sterilizer? I'm not sure which bottle brand I'm going to go with yet (I'm planning to BF so thought I'd try out a few types before committing)

MustBeLoopy390 · 21/04/2015 09:37

Charlie we had that one for dd, it's brill and tbh as long as they are the 'short' bottles we found they tend to fit :)

charlieis30 · 21/04/2015 09:44

Thanks loopy I'll go for it.

MustBeLoopy390 · 21/04/2015 09:54

Also with bottles we found the tommee tippee are fab, easy and also don't cost much to replace teats when needed :)

Fattycow · 21/04/2015 10:17

You have reminded me that my microwave needs cleaning...

JoY007 · 21/04/2015 10:22

Hello Ladies, had my whooping cough this morning, whoop whoop. It was ok, but then again, it takes a lot of pain to get me to complain Grin. Hope everyone is good. The weather is nice but breeze is cold Sad!

Our baby room is turning into a junk room and I need to get it sorted ASAP my DP takes forever to do anything and when done without him he gets into a childish strop!

Arghhh! Decided that I am going to ignore him and get on with it. He does not think the room needs repainting but I want it all nice and new- anything wrong with that?Confused

Fattycow · 21/04/2015 11:01

Men don't get nesting, do they? Mine is going to slow for my liking as well!

beno57 · 21/04/2015 12:49

I am in proper nesting mode now! i have to tell myself to slow down and not try and do everything at ones. My DH isn't so keen and will be doing hs jobs the day before I go into labour I think!

charlieis30 · 21/04/2015 13:49

I'm the same, I want to BUYBUYBUY but I'm deeply conscious that I have 3 months left and might change my mind on stuff

Thepurplegiraffe · 21/04/2015 13:59

I am satisfying the need to buy by getting things for current dd instead. She will have a lot of summer clothes at this rate and baby will have nothing!

Fattycow · 21/04/2015 14:03

I have bought a LEGO storage box. That will be useful for storing some of baby's things and later on for a few toys. Now I just need to make sure DH understands that it is for the baby, not for him! Grin

Sherbet38 · 21/04/2015 14:11

Broody it was HotUKDeals. You can save searches and it'll notify you when someone posts an offer. I'm a midlander, so not southern, but I have a friend from London who insists I'm Northern!

Blood tests went OK today and thankfully by blood pressure was down after last time. Whopping cough jab tomorrow.

Fattycow · 21/04/2015 15:13

This baby is teasing me! I feel kicks, look down, and it all stops. I look away and s/he starts kicking again. The moment I look down, it stops!

Charliej86 · 21/04/2015 15:38

Had my 28 week appointment today (at 27+5 as I'm already at consultant next week) and bump is measuring 30cms so midwife looked to send me for growth scans but I'm already having them due to thyroid. Asked about whooping cough just need to book it.

I'm having trouble getting a fit to fly note tho as midwife says it's down to gp and gp receptionist says GPs won't take responsibility!!! Hoping consultant will as mw says airlines tend not to accept notes from mw!!

Fattycow · 21/04/2015 15:50

Where are you off to, Charlie?

beno57 · 21/04/2015 15:58

my cot bed and mattress have been delivered to work today! that is us nearly sorted. Sadly baby brain resulted in me actually ordering two cot beds (and not noticing until today!) so they other one will have to be sent straight back to amazon when it arrives... doh!

JoY007 · 21/04/2015 16:21

Oh well... Glad to know I am not alone. To be fair to me, I have been buying essentials. My little boy has enough vests and baby grows to last him a month Grin I only have one proper outfit for him. Baby boy clothes are not so impulsive to buy unlike baby girl clothes.

fattycow I bought those too - the lego storage boxes they are amazing are the not! Got them in 4 main colours for decorative and storage purpose in the nursery Smile I remember been so excited when I ordered it.

I have to buy a baby blanket and cardigan and I want something really cute and soft.

Meanwhile ladies when is a good time to buy a nursing bra?

I have been lucky.. well that is because I bought some ill fitting bras years ago. I have not bought new bras for my growing bossom in this pregnancy.

Had about 4 pairs that I kept, bought in the selfridges sale years ago and never got round to returning them. They have surely come in handy.Grin

fattymcfatfat · 21/04/2015 16:25

really!? I've seen some gorgeous baby boy stuff. I bought my little man a gruffalo dungaree and tee shirt set Grin

I have everything to last me the first couple of weeks. but to be fair, DD being only 16 months helps!

smallgreenbanana · 21/04/2015 16:37

fattycow same here! Particularly frustrating for DH as I say look did you see that enormous kick? When he looks, nothing! He has given up now!

MuddyWellyNelly · 21/04/2015 16:55

You lot are very organised. We are inheriting the main stuff and have bought a couple of sleep suits. Beyond that, nothing. Haven't ordered new mattresses, bedding, nursing pads, anything. I did however brace myself and buy some maternity pads and waterproof bed mats Grin.

I'm too busy ordering bits for the kitchen and bathroom that are being refitted before the bump arrives. At least we can bath the baby in our lovely new kitchen sink!

26 weeks today. When does 3rd tri officially start? I'd have thought this week given it's a 1/3rd of the way to 40 weeks, but the MN calendar says not until 28 weeks.
