Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 25th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 42nd outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

The stats sheet will be linked to by our stats hero La (can't do on iPad sorry!)

So, roll call below please, viroids!

Good god do I have reflux!! Dominos was a terrible idea, it's all coming back up every 30 secs. Why oh why is there no gaviscon in the house!?

I don't think you're a hippy fatty - I think I am intending to buy most of the same as you. I want to use sling because I'd like to see if it helps things, I've got various friends who got on well with them. If not I'll just sell them on. The carrier I've bought is ergo so ergonomic which gives support for the hips.

I had never considered cloth nappies but I'll take a look at the ones you mentioned as they sound a bit easier. We have tiny house so idea of increasing amount of washing pains me. Unless I can hang on line it has to go on dryer in kitchen.

Dulcet I think you sound perfectly justified - combo of pg rage and hormones there. Glad you feel a bit better.

I don't feel good about myself at all just now. I've put on 2 stone in this pg so far. I was at my lowest weight when I got pg so would normally have been 3-4lb heavier to start with. First tri I struggled to eat well due to sickness. Now baby seems to crave sweet stuff. I'm terrified it's too much and I'm going to put on too much :( but I'm still fitting into my size everywhere else so I don't think I've put it on other than bump and boobs.

Pixie your bug sounds hideous - get well soon x

LaLaLaaaa · 06/04/2015 03:31

I hate terms baby wearing and baby led weaning.

LaLaLaaaa · 06/04/2015 03:32

And I fully intend to bf whenever my baby needs feeding, which includes in public. Prudes can look away if they wish

DulcetMoans · 06/04/2015 04:08

Exhibit B: woke up for wee and now focused on conversation I had with a friend last night worrying I said something wrong. I know it's all fine really but have little control over brain! Am pregnancy mental.

I have masses of cloth now fatty after getting a bunch second hand and given to me. They are all multipart though so want to get a couple all in one to try as they sound easier. Think you could go mad buying pretty outers though, that's the fun bit!

Bad news on the illness pixie, can any family help with DD a bit while you recover?

What baby things did you buy toast? Is it super cute??

You're not a chunk la, I've seen the photos! Sure you're not feeling your most glamorous but baby bump and big boobs to be expected. After a dominoes is not a good time to assess your body, pregnant or not!

Toast85 · 06/04/2015 06:53

Ugh, no lie in for me today then...
I got two sleep suits and a little hat with whiskers and mouse ears. Can't go on buying baby gap clothes though, will run out of money too soon! I will be going to gumtree or the like for second hand but we're going to find out what we're having so will wait a good few months.

Ok fatty a cord tie sounds ok, so I don't class you as hippy yet I'm afraid.. Now if you were to have some kind of gathering with chanting and incense and calling to the womb warrior or something like that, and carry the placenta around in a bucket until it falls off naturally, then yes you could get a good hippy score!

Toast85 · 06/04/2015 06:56

Get well soon pixie! I guess it's good it's not pre-eclampsia at least. Get lots of fluids down ya.

ZylaB · 06/04/2015 07:10

We use our sling loads, not sure how much it'll get used when H is bigger, but at the moment she loves it! I also don't like some if the terms, but have found myself using them because people know what I mean then, must stop!

LaLaLaaaa · 06/04/2015 07:46

Ah dulcet your description of replaying conversations is v familiar - I do that constantly. It does sound like you are suffering from a touch of anxiety. As long as it's not controlling you then I think it's quite natural to have some anxiety but if it's keeping you awake or you're becoming obsessive then I would suggest speaking to someone.

I had CBT to help control mine and now use it all the time. Poor mr la spent yesterday with me making yet another list of things to do and things we have done and things we need to do but can't just yet. It really helps me to put it on paper.

My social anxiety has been a bit better now I'm not drinking alcohol, as I don't have the fear of having said something I can't remember. But I still replay things a lot,

PixieChops · 06/04/2015 07:51

Cheers everyone! It's chicken soup for a week for me haha! I'm really pleased it's not something more sinister too. Deep down I was getting concerned as whose heard of a bug that is there one day and not the next! It's very odd!! My Easter egg is feeling very lonely still in its box and I can't wait to feel better so I can eat it whole.
If anyone's a hippy around here it's me (being Pagan) and I wanted an all natural "mother earth"'type birth with my first, only after 3 days of being in stop/ start labour did I finally ask for all the drugs. They were bloody fantastic, didn't even know who I was when I ended up pushing (in theatre with forceps Confused) and started giving an Oscar winning speech on how I wanted to thank everyone in the room (by name- and there were 16 people) even though DD was only just hanging out GrinGrin. The midwife came running over in her scrubs and was like "KEEP PUSHING!!!" DP said he didn't know whether to laugh or cry- it was apparently really hilarious but we'd been through so much. I don't really remember that bit, I just remember asking "what the bloody hell is this shite" as DD was born to "I want to ride my bicycle" by Queen.

PixieChops · 06/04/2015 07:54

On another note ive never tried a sling either, we used a baby Bjorn which are really good, just baby gets big very quickly and in the end I couldn't carry DD in it anymore, think DP still could if he wanted to, her legs are that long now though she'd probably boot him in his lumberjacks. Might have to try it one day Wink

LaLaLaaaa · 06/04/2015 08:03

Oh my god is love to give birth to queen!!! I need to put a labour playlist together.

I want a water birth but I'm very pragmatic and understand it's likely that things won't go exactly to plan so in keeping my mind open. One thing I really don't want is to end up lying on my back pushing.

My mum was asking me about whether I would be induced etc. I'll have to see. A mate of mine had to be induced yesterday at 13 days overdue. By then I'm sure I'll just be like 'get it out!'

Another mate is in hospital at 35 weeks - she's lost her plug and is having contractions. They're trying to stop them but it seems her baby is in a hurry to meet her.

I've warned dh we need to be ready earlier than he's got in his head (ie week of due date) because babies don't always wait the required weeks. But I do feel that I will go over, I just feel it.

DulcetMoans · 06/04/2015 08:14

My friend had hers Saturday which was a week early, so all fine but you don't think much about being early usually. Think it's pretty normal to consider due date as the deadline like Mr la but that could be totally wrong! Midwife that runs yoga said we shouldn't consider anything after 37 weeks early or after 40 weeks late. The baby is ready then and baked and will come when they want!

Sounds like the bland diet I put the cats on when they have poorly tummies pixie! Haha. Just plain meat and rice, normally sorts them out. Shame it's over Easter though!

Thanks for the advice la, I was talking to DH about CBT yesterday as I wasn't completely sure what it was but someone had mentioned it. Will research further!

LaLaLaaaa · 06/04/2015 08:30

Toast I hear you on baby gap! Their stuff is adorable but so expensive!

willywallace · 06/04/2015 08:39

I'm too lazy for CBT, it takes some effort.

I didn't know you could say no to induction last time. Thought you just had to do it! Although I hated it, I think I would have done it again due to risks to baby of being overdue.

Toast85 · 06/04/2015 08:48

Yeah I'll save shopping at baby gap for when I need to treat myself baby :)

KatoPotato · 06/04/2015 08:57

Hmmm I'm not having any joy on baby gap! All the boy stuff looks like prison wear or for that baby in the Addams family...

PixieChops · 06/04/2015 09:06

Aw I love the Addams family! Don't think I want my DS in that attire though.
Ive tried CBT, I'm sure it works for some people but it certainly didn't work for me. I went for anxiety and worrying, thing is I was re- worrying about the stuff that Id forgotten to worry about by the time Id leave the appointment!

LaLaLaaaa · 06/04/2015 09:17

There's some of it that's quite odd kato but I like the plain stuff.

Fatty I just looked at totsbots. To buy set for baby is £250 and it says it won't last to 2nd baby. That seems like a lot, plus you have to buy liners. How much do you think you save?

minimooo · 06/04/2015 09:20

Yeah I don't think you're a hippy either fatty. All those things are on my list too (except for the cord tying - I hadn't heard of that). I'm adding hypnobirthing to the water birth too. And I really want to use cloth nappies but dh is taking some convincing. Doesn't help when his cousins make cat bum faces when we talk about it! One of them said to me yesterday "yeah, but babies poo everywhere you know, it's not all tidy in one spot" I just said "well you'd have to clean that up whether they were in disposables or cloth wouldn't you?" Hmm
I was thinking of going with Little Lamb as they also have the flushable inserts, and you can get cotton, bamboo or microfibre nappies. I think they've just launched a new range of outers too.

Sorry to hear you're ill pixie. Hope you get better soon.

I'm the same wil! I read about cbt and thought it was an excellent idea, but in reality I just couldn't stick with it. I think my brain is too lazy to remember to do it when it needs to and then I feel like I'm failing and makes me feel even worse!
I do think it's a great practice for those who can use it effectively though (I don't want to put you off dulcet, it's just my crappy memory!)

minimooo · 06/04/2015 09:26

la those do sound expensive. Little Lamb is more like £180 I think and they should last to second baby.
Also worth checking out your local authority schemes - ours give us £50 off the price of the reusables if you present them with the receipt.
The Nappy Lady is awesome for recommending brands of reusables if you fill her form in online.

willywallace · 06/04/2015 09:29

Not sure if it's true La but I read that if you count costs of laundering plus nappies, it doesn't work out cheaper until you have second child and reuse. Although saying that, I have spent WAY more than £250 on nappies.

ChatEnOeuf · 06/04/2015 09:37

Dulcet, I've had days like that...it all just builds up until I snap over something ridiculous Blush

I hate the terminology too, but it does at least mean most folks understand my parenting philosophy - lazy/easiest route in early months - and don't say stupid things like 'let her scream'. Aiming for a normal birth, EBF, carrying, BLW and no 'scheduled' sleeps. But we will see how the wee one feels about that Grin

I'm 5ft 2 with a short spine and I got on fine with a stretchy last time, and a Beco Gemini SSC. at 10m Pixie, your DP could try a back carry, save his bits Wink

ChatEnOeuf · 06/04/2015 09:39

Oh and I've breastfed all over the place and will again. No one is telling me to move Angry

willywallace · 06/04/2015 09:56

I don't know how you can have scheduled sleeps with your second baby Chat. They surely just have to grab them whilst they can inbetween being ferried about and being surrounded by toddler whirlwind?

I remember MrWil saying once (before I had MiniWil) that there had been a discussion at work and he didn't think people should breastfeed in public. It's naively the first time I ever realised people had an issue with it. He clearly didn't understand how babies feed and I gave him all the Shock Angry Envy Hmm Confused faces and let him know in no uncertain terms that I would bf wherever my baby was hungry. Once the baby was here, he understood that if you ever want to leave the house, you just have to get on with it. Still think it's a bizarre thing to have a problem with and can't understand the issue.

Purpleball · 06/04/2015 09:56

My nappy plan is buy aldi ones as they are half the price of pampers. I'm normally quite a green person but my OCD is freaking out at washing nappies.

Ladies what works for constipation? It's starting to get traumatic Confused
I have managed to go and blocked the loo in the process so I need to prevent it happening again
