Baby is currently trying to burrow its way out of my cervix. Lots of movement at the bottom of bump and the fanny daggers aren't helping. We were having a ticklefest on our bed with DD and I had to wiggle out of the pile as they were taking my breath away. (Not always easy when everyone is trying to tickle you. I'm not very ticklish, but DD got DHs ticklish genes. makes them a very easy target)Wink

SquattingNeville Thank, will see if I can get in tonight hurts when I try and eat or open mouth so not ideal.

daholster · 03/04/2015 14:47

If its an infection you can still have antibiotics. You can also have codeine on prescription from the dentist when pregnant. Oh poor you that's horrid Sad Flowers

RL20 · 03/04/2015 14:56

Thanks Lauren will try that. Although I'm thinking it might have just been a bit of pesky wee as I've had nothing since!

Squatting that would be hilarious - although not for you of course! Grin
December thread Shock. Anyone else think their pregnancy has gone so quick so far?!

Oh no Skyra. I echo what the others have said about Corsadyl. I had the Corsadyl spray which worked wonders over a 3/4 day period when I had an ulcer a few months ago.
Although I think Daholster is right with the antibiotics. I was prescribed some at the very beginning of pregnancy due to a suspected kidney infection, but only way to find out is through the GP unfortunately Sad

brummagem · 03/04/2015 15:11

Eugh on tooth pain. There are some chemists open you might be able to get something over the counter that's stronger than just paracetamol.

There was someone who was a birth partner at our antenatal classes and she said as a mum of 3 she'd rather labour pains than tooth ache so if you're coping with this labour will be a breeze. That might not be any consolation now though!

skyra13 · 03/04/2015 15:17

Lol thanks ladies got to wait another 3 hours and find out if I can get an appointment pain is getting worse feel sorry for DH having to put up with my random out bursts of crying Easter Sad, rang triage about it and they said all I can take is codyramol cant spelt it but last time I had codeine I had a reaction. She said all I can do is wait and find out if I can get an appointment. Hope I am not stressing bump out to much she has been very fidgety. Trust it to happen at a bank hol feeling miserable x

BrixtonBunny · 03/04/2015 15:22

Skyra apparently clove oil is good for numbing tooth ache, though it tastes foul apparently. Also you should be able to buy weak cocodamol from any pharmacy which is safe to take during pregnancy. You poor thing - toothache is the absolute worst. Feeling very sorry for you.

Squatting that is alarming!

Well I've officially done nothing of use today. Finished watching debate, had lunch, then DP took a long nap (he's still sleeping!) and I read a magazine in the bath for AGES. Then tonight we're at DP's family for Passover supper. We've agreed to do productive things tomorrow instead so not feeling too guilty.

Lauren a sign that baby is imminent?!

My dentist always said rinse with salt water when your wisdom teeth act up. Thankfully mine haven't bothered me for years so I reckon they aren't coming through now.

RL20 · 03/04/2015 15:31

Lauren I also feel a lot more movement further down now Shock and also against my left hip (not so much the other one though?!).

Skyra I hope you get something sorted, bank holidays are boring as it is, never mind having to put up with tooth ache and not wanting to do anything.

Brixton don't worry, the only thing of use I have done today is dropped my car off for it to be cleaned in and out (second or third time it has been done since I bought it a year ago!).
I hope they've made a good job of it, as the man that used to run it has now left, so hoping the place is still just as good!

Saw a great idea that someone posted in Facebook the other day. Where you make salt dough and do an impression of babies foot in it, and then bake the dough for a couple of hours until it's hard. Definitely going to do that when baby is here, but going to try it out tonight with other half's daughter, so I know what I'm doing! Going to do it with her hand, but put red food colouring in the mixture so it goes a pinky colour.
I'm looking forward to it! Will let everyone know if it's a fail or a winner, of course, ha ha. Will attempt to possibly post a picture too.

cinnamongreyhound · 03/04/2015 16:27

kismac I can't imagine anything worse than my mum at my birth. Dh keeps saying he'll stay with kids and she can come with me and even said it in front of her once. She just said oooo I'd love to but I don't think you'd be very happy. I didn't say no I wouldn't but I wouldnt!!

I second clove oil skyra13, dh suffers a lot with his teeth and dabs it on to numb the pain. Just wash your hands when you have used it as its quite burny and he once went for a wee straight after applying and wasn't happy for some time!!

Don't feel guilty at all for having a lazy day BrixtonBunny! The two of you have done so much over theast couple of months a day to relax will do you good!

We've been to see home today, not the best film and for a family meal at ask which was lovely. Now very full and sitting in the car waiting for dh to get some fixings from b&q to put shelves up in the boys room. I fell asleep in the cinema and havent felt great all day but can't really put my finger on anything. Probably just need and early night! Ds2 used his car boot money to buy some Lego so that will be my job when we get home while dh makes the most of the last of his time with dss before we take him back tomorrow.

Lauren82000 · 03/04/2015 16:30

RL I found a recipe for salt dough that you stick in the microwave for a few mins was really easy but in cups not grams so if you have a cup measurer it's:
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
1/2 cup water
Mix flour & salt together then add water. Mix until it forms a dough, roll out to a cm. when your done stick it on a plate in the microwave and zap in 30 second increments until it's dry. Beware it's very hot! Not sure if it's worth turning them over before you put them in as I found the top surface bubbled a bit but the underneath stayed flat. You'll have to do 2 and experiment. Otherwise it's about 3 hours in a low oven.

skyra13 · 03/04/2015 16:31

I not got any clove oil or a clove lol :( booo I need to stock up on it I think! x

RL20 · 03/04/2015 16:48

Oooh thanks! Microwave sounds a lot easier.
Attempted to go to my local shopping centre down the road earlier (about a 10 min drive) but turned back as there was queues to get in! I only wanted to nip asda for some food colouring, glitter and bits and bobs but looks like I'll have to search in a local co-op instead and pay twice the price Hmm.

RL20 · 03/04/2015 16:53

Have a look at these Skyra, it also does mention about how effective clove is although I hadn't heard of it until someone mentioned it earlier on here!
Obviously there a some you have to rule out with being pregnant, like the whiskey! Lol.
Scroll down on the page until you get to number 1.

FiRaffe · 03/04/2015 17:02

The salt dough is a lovely idea RL - i've seen things like that on not on the high street but didn't think about salt dough! I got A cute printing kit from the brownies so will definitely be doing that as well.

Hope the toothache improves skyra. Not what you need at the moment let alone on a bank holiday! No further suggestions than those the ladies have already given i'm afraid.

Done nothing really useful all day and just slept through x-men last stand and half of men in black! Obviously needed it though. Hope everyone is feeling okay and babies are behaving!

daholster · 03/04/2015 17:48

Well I've been useless for the last 3 hrs except ordering pizza for lunch and getting dd to nap! This morning though we finished sorting all the rubbish and paperwork that was in the front bedroom. It is now sorted... All has a home (or is boxed for the home that will arrive when we've bought some furniture and finished the nursery!) So nothing surplus to what we want is left. That just leaves conservatory to empty... Not urgent though and hopefully a lot easier!

FIL took radiator off in nursery so we can finish painting and he will fit the new one tomorrow (assuming they have it in the shop) Grin Then I can do the stickers, put the new switch and socket on and it can be finished!!!

Then just kitchen wall and downstairs loo to paint... And whole house to tody and clean! But that bit doesn't sound nearly as traumatic (though a lot more boring...)

38+3

smogsville · 03/04/2015 17:59

OMG felt super tragic at Ikea this morning, waiting outside with all the other parents of small children to be let in for 930 browsing before they let us loose on the checkouts... But we were in and out within an hour and somehow without forgetting to buy some vital ikea only widget as usual.

DD has been at London aquarium with my sis and her boyf, having wailed for mummy when we left her. I felt quite bad but then decamped to cafe for childfree brunch with a friend and got over it more or less immediately with a Virgin Mary and a croque monsieur. They're now en route back on tube and she's been fed and everything so can probably go straight into bath, hooray!

Brixton I love your leaders' debate bacon session. Classic.

daholster - I always get IKEA to deliver the larger items. Somehow spending time looking at larger items in store with DH always seems to equal divorce. It was bad enough as it was just picking up small items. And he managed to cause a security alert bless him by leaving the car keys in the car. The advantages of a 12yo polo - no one wants to nick it, LOL!

Both kids' rooms are now more or less finished. It takes forever to put lights up, apparently. DH and I picked up a nice bit of steak at a fancy butcher in w hampstead but have now decided to save it for tomorrow and get a curry tonight so we don't have to either go to waitrose or turn the griddle on or anything other than eat and then flop.

Great news Penguin. You must be feeding that LO well if you're back in normal jeans already!

Sorry to hear about the teeth skyra. Nothing to add to others' suggestions other than sympathy.

RL - I'm getting the odd wayward wee too. So bored of it. I find rocking backwards and forwards for a few seconds can sometimes dislodge the last reluctant dribbles Blush

IvegotaCaveTroll · 03/04/2015 18:21

I like the salt dough idea- can I just ask how long it lasts- will the print last forever?
Iv bought some ink and will prob do some framed prints for people.

Nunkie · 03/04/2015 18:34

Hey Cinnamon - (very delayed reaction to your question - I'm not quite with it at the mo! :0) - the first name contenders were whittled down to Eva and Nina. In the end we went with Eva Wren Sophia [DPs surname]. I can't be arsed with double-barrelling his surname and mine - too long-winded!

Re boobs, hahah - yes, I bet many a man's eyes have popped out in anticipation when the milk comes in.
It's like having an implant overnight! - a terrible waste of boobs looking their finest! I suddenly had to laugh the other night when I realised how I'd probably wrecked any teenage-fantasy DP may have had of a woman approaching him with ridiculous melons bursting out of her bra, due to wearing the world's biggest scowl as I dolloped 'em out very unceremoniously before directing them at a baby! :0D

They do seem to have calmed a bit since but it's still no walk in the park!
Really really looking forward to them fully toughening up so I can enjoy bonding with Eva without the more toe-curling moments :0(

Good luck with some home remedies for those teeth Skyra!

skyra13 · 03/04/2015 18:45

Thanks RL for the Link! I have an appointment at 8pm tonight do will see how it goes, did have a bit of a barney with DH so hoping that's not going to be still going on the car.
Feeling abit of an emotional wreck today now really worried about stressing bump to, just don't know what to do with my self!
Hate being shouted at makes me feel like a child!
Sorry ladies all I feel like I have done is moan today x

FiRaffe · 03/04/2015 18:46

That's a lovely name Nunkie. Hehe at your DP and boobs!

Well done smogs with ikea and lunch sounds lovely.

Daholster... I think I should employ you to come to Woking and motivate me! still have boxes of paperwork to go through but maybe try on Sunday. Have got to make jam then too and I know which I prefer by a country mile!

FiRaffe · 03/04/2015 18:48

Oh crossposted skyra. Sorry you've had a bad day and it's never nice to be shouted at especially when you're already feeling rough.

I'm sure the ladies would agree, feel free to moan and whinge - we all need somewhere to escape!

Wineandchoccy · 03/04/2015 19:00

That's a beautiful name Nunkie

Skyra have you got any sensodyne or sensitive toothpaste? If so rub some all around the tooth and leave it, it blocks the sensitive Dentinal tubules and should help ease the pain. Gargling with warm salty water can help as well. I used to be a dental nurse, in case you are wondering.

Ive got really bad backache and feel a bit sick is this a sign of something happening?!

Had a lovely 1st day of Mat leave although I would have been off anyway because of Easter. I don't think it will feel like I am actually off until Tuesday when I don't have to get up at a certain time.

RL20 · 03/04/2015 19:10

Ivegotacavetroll apparently it lasts for years! If not forevermore I'm guessing. Have just been and bought some salt and good colouring from asda. I bought the gel food colouring as apparently it's more vibrant, as when the salt dough is baking, it darkens slightly. Only thing I couldn't find was glitter, oh well!
We've just eaten our mcdonalds so going to make a start on it now! Grin
