RL20 · 02/04/2015 21:30

Thanks Boo! Going to double check over my bag tomorrow. Glad you put about going home clothes. How did I forget that? What was I expecting to go home in, my nightie? BlushBlush

daholster · 02/04/2015 21:32

Good news littlegreycat and well done penguin!!!

cavetroll I have one too. Its so sore and burns like mad. When his bum is high its horrid, and if I lift dd too I feel like I'm ripping apart! I had one last time if I remember rightly and it settled after delivery though took about 6 weeks.

So we are going to buy a car on Saturday, BMW because of the rolling ride in the Volvo and the rubbishy satnav, despite it being £4000 cheaper before further haggling (all BMW haggling has been exhausted!). It just feels right and at least I know I won't be resenting it which I worry I might with the ride in the Volvo. So that's one decision done! Shame it won't arrive til September Hmm

Midwife was OK, sympathetic about the lack of interest from consultant/reg at the hospital but understandably couldn't suggest much. Didn't suggest an early sweep - but then she was running late and I hadn't helped since I forgot to check in and was sitting like a lemon for ages!!! She said they might sweep at 40 weeks if I chose to switch my consultant appointment for a cmw appointment.

The Dr was thorough today and looked over dd properly and found out she has a red ear AND tonsillitis, poor little pickle! She's been an absolute trooper, you wouldn't realise! So he said treat with antibiotics, wheeze might be viral (I'm not so sure but we will see) so try to wait it out with current inhaler. If she is v bad over the weekend we have a 3 day course if steroids to give her to get her through the bank holiday. If it doesn't all settle with antibiotics then will consider steroid inhaler. So that was odd!!! Have set up cold mist humidifier in her room to see if this helps too. Anything to get her comfy and sleeping Sad

Anyone know the deal with sending a pretty well child to nursery with antibiotics? Don't know if they'll take her...

And in other news I have a mildly sore throat and a sore red gunky right eye. Think dd must be sharing something... Baby is back up high at 4/5 palpable again splaying my ribs and I am so uncomfy. It is very annoying that he won't stay down! I felt really ready yesterday. Dh says he will do the night shift with dd but I know I will not sleep because I am so tuned into her, and being uncomfy too I will not sleep anyway!!! Heartburn issues too,had 2 pieces toast with marshmallow fluff for breakfast, no lunch, a Snickers bar and shortbread biscuit, then dd brought me a chocolate trifle from the fridge which I obligingly ate Blush Now of course I want no tea due to a short period of poor and irresponsible food choice this afternoon when I was hungry!

I'd best get ready for bed. Going to start some RLT perhaps tomorrow, we'll see.

Looking post sorry! Hope siarie is ok, just resting...

daholster · 02/04/2015 21:36

That was supposed to say loooong post...

roastpots · 02/04/2015 21:36

You can get raspberry leaf tea from Holland and Barrett as well. It isn't clipper but I like the taste.

I had a stretch and sweep this morning. She said my cervix was softening. It was 1cm when she started and 2cm by the end. So all sounds positive but nothing much has happened since so feeling like it could well be a while yet before things kick off...

skyra13 · 02/04/2015 21:52

RL I'm obsessed with puddings fuzzy drinks I never drank much of but loving vimto chocolate I never ate much of now I have to have it in house!
Also potato of any kind I have to have every day lol
I am expecting a very lazy girl! She is due Easter Monday I really don't want to go over, midwife has said she will try give me a sweep next week but she fully booked so I might as well try an sort something with the hospital! As I seem to get better care from them then I do the bloody midwife.
I would love to know if I have dilated more x

RL20 · 02/04/2015 21:55

Daholster pleased to hear that the doctors did find what was wrong with your DD! Although not pleased that she's poorly of course, but at least it can hopefully be treated now. With regards to nursery, obviously I have no experience myself but would have thought just as long as it's not contagious? Will they give her the antibiotics or is she not there for a long enough period of time, anyway?

Ooh roastpots at least your on the way, now! Was it uncomfortable?
RE Raspberry Leaf Tea, I was going to order some from Amazon after failing to find any in most of my local stores, but I'm now debating whether to take 'one last final trip' into town tomorrow.
Half of me wants to, the other half can't be bothered. It depends on whether I can convince my mum to come with me, anyway! It's only a 15/20 min car trip but I feel a bit vulnerable walking around town on my own at 37 weeks pregnant Confused.
There's a Holland & Barrett so I'll be able to get some tea, and I also feel like I want to nip into Primark to get some last minute things. Oooh I don't know what to do!

ChickenMe · 02/04/2015 22:09

Glad you're ok GreyCat
With my hosp bag I was grateful for loads of granny pants. The disposable ones are shit. Also my lovely soft cotton nighties, maternity leggings and thin cotton wrap robe.
I was still in hosp when my milk came in-most people won't be but if you are - it can really hurt and I couldn't stand any fabric next to my skin apart from the softest stretch cotton or soft cotton scarfs. So might be worth packing one

FiRaffe · 02/04/2015 22:11

Glad you had some success with the doctors for your DD daholster - hope she feels better over the weekend.

I can understand not wanting to walk around RL, especially alone. Hope you can get everything you need easily.

daholster · 02/04/2015 22:14

Hopefully it is all just wheeze because of the poorliness RL but I think given her eczema too its wishful thinking, but we have to wait and see. Hopefully what we are doing will help either way. Yes she's at nursery all day Tues/Thurs and they will give her medicine (have been doing her inhalers) and personally I think once she has had 5 days of antibiotics she won't be contagious any more... She's probably been spluttering all her germs at the other kids for the last week! But that is how they build their immune systems and why nursery children always have colds etc!!!

RL20 · 02/04/2015 22:35

Daholster bless her. I know how irritable eczema can be, have had it all of my life! There's one photo of me that sticks in my mind, I was probably about 5 or 6 and on the beach in a swimming costume, and I looked like a little lobster and was plastered in the white eczema cream!
I only really suffer with it on my hands now, which I use a steroid cream for, (although not using it as much during pregnancy). But along the way it has helped to develop sensitive skin in general like on my face, which can cost me a fortune in creams and make-up that doesn't break my skin out! It's very trial and error with trying products (that goes for food and everything!) when you have eczema, but like you say she has to build an immune system and it will get easier as she gets older.

Thanks FiRaffe. How are you? Wasn't it your last day at work today?
Or am I wrong ConfusedGrin.

Skyra I'm the same but with Ribena. Also rediscovered Um Bongo today too! Now currently snacking on a bag of apple slices. Which I'm hoping balances out the Oreos, half an Easter egg, slice of iced bun, and chocolate I've eaten today! No? Oh well.... Confused

IvegotaCaveTroll · 02/04/2015 23:25

Yep Daholster- my split muscle thing sounds like urs. The skin over it burns horribly- iv been alternating between hot water bottles, ice and blowing on it. When I get a kick into it I jump out of my skin!

Fun fun!!

cinnamongreyhound · 02/04/2015 23:28

Great news PenguinPoser!

Ow IveGotACaveTroll, can they do anything for you? You shouldn't feel bad about what you are doing, some women are just luckier in pregnancy than others and I'm just a healthy pregnant person!

No, Tuesday RL20. Due Monday.

Good news LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar.

Nursery should take her daholster, some will give medicines and others will expect you to come and give them but it's down to their policies there's not fixed rule. I have medication forms for my mindees and will give any medication as long as its not the first time they've had it.

I am the opposite to all of you with a sweet tooth, mine was the sweetest of sweet tooths and has pretty much gone while pregnant and did with my other two aswell.

We went to my running clubs quiz night at the last minute tonight. Had a good time, came second to last but most excitedly I had some kind of show, brownish blood and green slime twice when I went for a wee but theres nothing now I'm home. That's more than I ever had with ds1&2 so it's cheered me up a bit. BUT dh must have had 6-8 cans of strongbow so I'll be driving myself if I do go into labour tonight Shock

PenguinPoser · 02/04/2015 23:43

Eek cinnamon don't be driving yourself anywhere if you go into labour! Sod's law it could happen as your DH has had a drink!

Daholster hope your DD improves with the abx. Seems reasonable to try that before committing her to the steroid inhaler I guess. Hope you have a quiet weekend with her.

In terms of hospital bags - big knickers!!! Only thing I had to send DH home for was the tiny baby clothes as she was too small for newborn. All I wanted in labour was water and lip balm.
A few pairs of pjs/nighties as ended up with blood on some.
A few baby blankets incase of sicky episodes!

Glad things are ok littlegreycat and that you did go and get checked - I would have gone too.

Thanks everyone for the positive reinforcement Easter Smile the breast feeding is still a challenge but getting easier and its really reassuring that dd is gaining weight so must be getting what she needs from me.
She had a massive feed earlier in the evening and had to wake her at 11 for another feed so wondering if that's the best sleep over for the night... Hmm! At least I had 2 hours nap on the sofa - amazing!

londonlivvy · 03/04/2015 00:02

RL20 If you fancy a trip into town, go for it, but I wouldn't put yourself out just for raspberry leaf tea. There isn't any conclusive evidence that it works anyway.

There is, however, some evidence in support of eating dates in late pregnancy. six a day from 36 weeks. Google date fruit in late pregnancy

daholster · 03/04/2015 03:07

Guess who is awake. And who else (on the night shift) is snoring his head off!!! Dd started coughing lots so I went in to do her inhaler with hee then she wanted stroking. Had to leave her though cos she's started chatting Confused so I have come back to the snoring noise and feeling uncomfy in bed and left dd to it. My eye was Al.most aryck together when I woke up...

I want to get all the painting in our house done this weekend. Its never going to happen Sad And my eye and sore throat say I'm def getting ill so not sure what we will achieve. I so want everything done! That will just leave tidying and cleaning.

cinnamom that sounds exciting!

Half asleep farting ohs are so unsexy Hmm

So to get up or try to sleep...?

PenguinPoser · 03/04/2015 05:45

Hope you've got to sleep daholster. I would have stayed in bed - but at the moment I love my bed and feel too separated from it! Is there any way the house things will still get done ie by your DH or other helpful family?

daholster · 03/04/2015 07:23

I did get back to sleep thanks penguin. I do feel like crap though. Sore throat stuffy nose avhey neck/back and sore sticky eye. My mum and dad would come and paint. My aunt would too. But PILs coming today to look at replacing radiator in new nursery and finish boarding loft too (which I wish they'd done last year when they were already doing it and never finished!!! I msgged for ages then gave up. Of course now we urgently need the space its s rush. Angry )

Trying yo get the motivation to start painting before dd gets up then at least a coat will be on but not sure if I ache too much. But then, if I do I can have a warm bath when MIL comes round later because I know she will play with dd. Or do another coat for me...

Happy Easter everyone, I'm a bundle of hopping joy eh?! Easter BlushEaster Grin

daholster · 03/04/2015 07:24

*nagged!

smogsville · 03/04/2015 07:33

cinnamon I really hope you wouldn't seriously consider driving yourself in labour? That's what ambulances are for. Great plug news. Pregnancy is a funny old thing isn't it - at any other time if you discovered green and brown slime in your knickers you'd be off to a&e in a panic.

daholster I hope you got some sleep. I really do understand why you want to get everything done but I worry that you're overstretching yourself. Sorry if I sound like your mum!

DD still asleep, hardly surprising as she was up until nearly 9pm making fish and chips for the residents of her dolls' house. She came down at 845 asking if 'someone could come and turn her light off' bless her. We're off to ikea this morning for our sins so will be buying lots of new bits for her new room including lights she can switch off by herself.

Had really better get up as the idea is to steam in early and get out before it becomes impossible then hand DD over to my sis for a day's auntie fun at the aquarium and go out for a sneaky childfree brunch with my friend and then head home to sort out the new purchases...

FiRaffe · 03/04/2015 08:02

Good idea getting there early smog - i'm sure it'll be chaos later! I'm so excited about our delivery on Tuesday!

Good news on the show cinnamon - come on baby, it's April now and your mummy wants to meet you naturally!

Daholster - don't push yourself too much, but equally I understand wanting to get the room done! I hope you feel better and you can get someone to help at least!

Yes RL was my last day yesterday and in theory should be having a lie-in today but my body woke up! Not as bad as if i'd had to go to work though but baby is obviously pushing on my bladder as had to go to the loo loads yesterday evening and through the night! DH is gently snoring to himself next to me, which will wind me up in an hour when he's still doing it and then will whinge later he's tired!

We have nothing planned today, although the weather sounds vile from the forecast so hopefully we can finish off the last bits of decorating and sorting... then he has to sort going to the tip....better get nagging as he was supposed to go in Feb when we first cleared the room.

Sorry for the indulgent rant! Hope you all have a lovely bunny filled day!

BrixtonBunny · 03/04/2015 08:38

Daholster I wish I had your enthusiasm for decorating! DP desperately wants us to paint the dining room this weekend (its still just raw plaster...) but my nesting instinct has not kicked in yet and I'm finding it very hard to be motivated about it! Even though I know it will look a million times better once it's painted. I've failed to convince him that raw plaster is a good look Wink The problem is, the dining room now has table, chairs, cabinets etc in so painting will be a huge hassle. Hmm some friends have offered to help on Sunday, so might go to B&Q today to at least buy the paint and then maybe we can come to a compromise where I feed everyone a big meal in return for painting!

Also finally getting our arses into gear and going to JL to sort curtains out today, and we need to order blinds for sitting room. Oh and the windows in the baby room need another coat of gloss, and curtains / blinds. And the loo desperately needs painting too as the walls are so grubby from previous years of neglect. Confused

In non-chores news (ahem) fanny daggers have definitely ramped up the last few days, as has general pelvic discomfort and a few "twinges", but no other signs - no plug, no contractions, nada. So guessing baby is still comfy and doesn't want to budge for a while longer!

Cinnamon I echo what others have said - sure you were joking but don't even think of driving yourself! Can you ask DH to stop drinking as you're so close to due date? Mine has stopped drinking, though he's a nervous first timer who starts panicking that I might have gone into labour if I don't reply to a text immediately because I'm in the bath Hmm, so I guess your DH is more relaxed with this being his fourth!

Smogs good luck with ikea, we're toying with going this morning as well as need a few little bits and pieces, but not sure I can face it (and I usually love ikea) as last couple of times we've gone it's made my lower back ache.
