Ah daholster sorry you've had such a tough time. None of it is your fault. Must be awful seeing your dd suffer though Sad
I know you have reservations about the steroid trial but it might be for the best and not necessarily forever. Is she just under the gp or paeds?

Sorry everyone else is so fed up and sore! Even though being postnatal has its own issues it reminds me how uncomfy I was 3 weeks ago and glad that part is over. My body is returning to normal so hang in there ladies you'll be ok and the end is in sight!

Squatting BrewCake I'm sure you have no reason you shouldn't come home with a healthy baby. I think these worries are normal though. Speak to your oh about how you're feeling if you can.

I feel like a bad mummy this morning I just couldn't cope with getting up in the middle of the night again so ended up with DD breastfeeding in bed lying down and I fell asleep. I was in the right position not to move or roll on her but when I woke up I panicked incase she has suffocated or something Sad even though I took the covers off and covered Her with cellular blanket etc. It did help my sleep though Confused.

She also has a blister on her lip from sucking poor baby.

Birth story now on the post natal thread.

Still in hospital but will go home today

cinnamongreyhound · 02/04/2015 10:26

Doesn't sound like bad mummy to me PenguinPoser just tired mummy be kind to yourself!

Funny you say that BrixtonBunny, I can't walk now without getting really strong tightenings but don't get any while running it's really odd! Hope you're hands ease up a bit as the day goes on, mine are swelling slightly now but not too bad. Didn't have it with other two but perhaps because my hands were bigger anyway so I didn't notice!

We are making Easter nests this afternoon Lauren82000, like crispy cakes but with shredded wheat. Nice at the moment but meant to tip it down this afternoon so we're at the park now, until the clouds come over!

Siarie · 02/04/2015 10:26

I'm not even sure where to start with the last 24hrs but I've been posting on the FB page.

Ill just summarise as I'm completely knackered and my brain is not working well!

Starting having contractions 2-3 mins apart yesterday for a good few hours before I finally admitted defeat and took myself into hospital to be checked.

From that point they admitted me as I was indeed having contractions but cervix was still closed.

Lasted from about 5pm to 2am then started to go to every 5 mins. During that time I had my bloody show arrive and lots of monitoring. Those contractions are terrible by the way, my legs shook and I couldn't do anything to stop them shaking. Just really uncomfortable and at that point I finally thought perhaps she might actually arrive, DH was sent to go get the hospital bag as we hadn't brought it thinking it would just be a false alarm.

Turns out it was a false alarm as the contractions stayed at 5 min intervals. Consultant came to see me in the morning, noticed my raised liver results and chased up my bile acid from my bloods taken Monday. Also noticed more fluid around baby so gave me a scan, apparently the extra fluid could be why she's trying to escape sooner as it puts pressure on the cervix.

Anyway had a call to say the bile results are abnormal so I'm heading into the day unit to discuss soon as my cleaner arrives.

Feeling much better after a long sleep, but last night I had loads of cramps and contractions so who knows when she's going to come out.

AnniaFausta · 02/04/2015 10:37

Oh, Siarie, that all sounds very stressful, but I'm glad the hospital appear to be taking good care of you and that you got a good night's sleep to face whatever happens today.

skyra13 · 02/04/2015 10:38

Got midwife at 12 I have a question will a community midwife do a sweep? X

RL20 · 02/04/2015 10:49

Well it's nice to be back in the comfort of the Antenatal Thread for now!
Have just had a read of the Postnatal Thread which I actually found fascinating! Probably because I can't see photos so it's not like watching OBEM! (Which I don't watch, by the way!).
Will definitely keep up with the birth stories on there.
Well done to those ladies!

cinnamongreyhound · 02/04/2015 10:51

Mine were both done by community midwife skyra13, but unless they have a reason they don't usually like to do them before 40+1 Sad

RL20 · 02/04/2015 10:52

Oh Siarie! Little one must be on her way, slowly but surely! Do let us know how you get on Thanks

skyra13 · 02/04/2015 11:06

Aww thanks cinnamon I have had 2 due to my bp not being very stable so wondering if she will do another today x

RL20 · 02/04/2015 11:18

How far are you along now Skyra? I wonder if they'll ramp it up instead of doing another sweep, if they haven't been successful? I suppose it depends how unstable your bp has been. I'll remind you though that this is my first so I honestly have no clue! Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 02/04/2015 11:30

Ah of course you have skyra13, struggle to link fb and mn names!!

I'm 39+4 now RL I am kinda hoping I am a little more dilated but I don't want to be sent to hospital today as it my mums bday :)
BP has stayed back in the 80s on Monday, can't have it done on electrical machine was showing 123 bottom number stupid things! See how things go.

Lauren82000 · 02/04/2015 11:50

Squatting I went to asda on Tuesday and they only had whisper or mars left. No little ones no expensive ones. Shock I'm hoping Tesco have some when we go shopping later on or poor DD won't be getting an egg. Shock

FiRaffe · 02/04/2015 12:55

Hope you're having good days so far ladies and things improve Sairie.

We're having nandos for my last work lunch...so excited!!! Not long left and then freedom!

AnniaFausta · 02/04/2015 13:18

Have a great last day, everyone who's at work!

Phew... got a definite firm baby bottom on the right hand side of the bump again! Or it feels close enough to it that I'm going to stop worrying and have some lunch. Thus giving baby all the extra energy they need to flip around again... but never mind.

skyra13 · 02/04/2015 13:37

Well that was poo Midwife would not do a sweep said it was to busy and no point until after 40 weeks blah as bp was fine! Was hoping to find out if things had changed but no got a clinic appointment on Tuesday she said she may be able to do a sweep then if baby not arrived!

Lauren82000 · 02/04/2015 13:49

Don't worry Annia I've had a bum on the right for about a week and a half Hmm I'm sure it'll move in good time.

Managed to make some salt dough with DD so we have made chicks and sheep. She is just painting them now and quite happy (not sure how long for only got 2 bunnies left) Burnt my fingertips getting them out of the microwave though. Think she will be ok watching a bit of tv after this or let her loose in the garden with bubbles.

Underwood2013 · 02/04/2015 14:37

Wow - hang in there Siarie... perhaps she is hanging on as she wants to be an Easter baby?? Easter Smile

Apart from the poor sleep, fanny daggers, leakage, cramps, aches & twinges I hope everyone has a good weekend filled with lots of chocolate... Easter Grin Hopefully not long now for those of us not yet holding our little ones!

FiRaffe · 02/04/2015 14:43

Hehe Underwood... you make it sound so.... enjoyable! Ah well the babies should hopefully make up for everyone's discomfort.

PenguinPoser · 02/04/2015 14:51

I remember trying to get Easter eggs this time last year and couldnt! Thankfully got nieces egg ages ago (assumed baby would be coming this weekend!) but it's crazy around this time trying to get them.

Glad you're finally getting sorted Siarie! Hope things go ok at the hospital. Your symptoms sounded so much like mine with cholestasis so im not surprised that's what it is but they should have baby out soon and then the itching just goes away!

Skyra sorry you didn't get your sweep hope things are moving along soon of their own accord.

Lauren82000 · 02/04/2015 15:35

I don't understand it as usually when you've already got eggs. They are flogging loads off after Easter. Where have they all gone this year?

DD is driving me mad. Has the ipad watching annoying songs on YouTube. I'm so tired and so don't feel like going shopping then cooking when we get in. Confused Only 20 mins and I can go get DH and get it over with.

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 02/04/2015 15:41

Hi ladies, just wondering if I could get some advice. Had reduced movements over the last 24 hours and called the hospital. They advised 2 hours on left side counting movements. I did and only had 8 movements. Called back (they are really busy and it took 20 mins to eventually get through) and they've booked me in at 4:30 but since then baby has livened up a bit. Would you still go?? I don't want to waste their time and they said if movements increased to call in and cancel but I'm still a bit worried!

Sorry, very self-indulgent post!!
