miss Bravissimo go from about an A cup to extremely big, people think of them as for big busts as they go up to high sizes and lots of places don't, but my friend is small and buys bras there too.

bonzo77 · 24/03/2015 21:01

toffee my boobs have really grown already. i'm having a rotten time with bras at the moment. I started a thread in style and beauty. I'm super fussy about bras at the best of times: they have to fit just so. But I'm changing shape and size so fast that nothing fits for any length of time. I have dozens of bras from my last 2 pregnancies and nothing is working. The wires are driving me mental. I've resorted to stretchy crop tops, which are comfortable, but make me look like a saggy old sofa, and don't really support me properly. The nursing bras are more supportive, but still give me a mon-boob. I was a 30E before I got pregnant, I'm sure I am now at least a 30F and not quite 16 weeks. Really don't want to spend a lot as I'm self employed, work is very quiet indeed and we are hoping to buy a new house shortly. At least we'd better be, the solicitor and surveyor have both sent bills!

miss bravissimo start from a D cup. But that really isn't very big. Lets say marks and spencer usually put you in a 34C, which is their favourite size. They use a really out dated way of sizing you, and bravissimo would probably make you a 32D, or 30DD. I wore a 34D for years, until bravissimo showed me the light. In fact, before babies ruined my ribs for ever I was a 28F.

Jessica32 · 24/03/2015 21:34

miss bonzo is right. I think I got confused because my friend used to wear a 34B and sometimes A. Bravissimo measured her and now she's a 28DD. Her problem is she has a v small back like bonzo. Often women buy too big in the back and too small in the cup. I had bra extenders suggested to me but that won't help me as my cup size has definitely balooned!

Anyone got any tips for wind pain? I'm in sooo much pain :(

OP posts:
bonzo77 · 24/03/2015 21:50

treacle peppermint tea. Works well if you can stomach it. You can get peppermint oil capsules but not sure if they are ok in pregnancy.

Treaclepie19 · 24/03/2015 22:06

Thanks bonzo, I've just had some :)
Hopefully that'll work... weeing and sneezing are so painful!

Thanks all, that's good to know about Bravissimo. Before pregnancy I had a love /hate relationship with bra shopping (on a par with bikini and jeans shopping..) as I never seemed to find anything that fit. After losing and gaining weight over the years my boobs went a weird shape and everything was either too gapey or wobbly (push up bras I'm looking at you..) hoping the pregnancy rounds things out a bit!

treacle I find wind pain in mid - lower back can often be combatted by drinking something fizzy like ginger ale. Makes me burp like a trooper but gets the air out!

THEworrywart · 25/03/2015 06:51

Any warm drinks generally help break up wind pain or lying on your left if it's trapped with your knees bent and towards your chest

sauvblanc21 · 25/03/2015 07:47

In the early weeks when I was plagued by trapped wind, I read & watched a YouTube video about massaging the wind out! You start in bottom right corner then prod, massage, rub etc up the side, across top of tummy and back down then across to bellybutton. Worked a TREAT! And very satisfying when trapped wind was, ahem, no longer trapped! I'm sure if you google it, the vid will appear! Xx

Jessica32 · 25/03/2015 08:07

I know it's too early to feel the baby (I'm 14+3) especially as it's my 1st but have had a couple of sensations which have made me wonder. I guess once I'm definitely feeling it I will know with hindsight whether it was. Info says 16 to 20 weeks but those of you who are on your 2nd, 3rd baby etc, when do you start to feel it?

THEworrywart · 25/03/2015 08:12

Jessica when I was 14 weeks (first also) I thought I felt something but my sister an obe/gyn said it's far too early for it to be possible with the first :(.

17/18 weeks now and feeling stuff but sure it's just my stomach - it's always bubbly even pre pregnancy.

Treaclepie19 · 25/03/2015 08:15

Thank you all :)
I'll give the tips a try.

Is anyone else still losing weight?
I think mine has slowed but it's definitely not started going back on yet.

THEworrywart · 25/03/2015 08:27

Treacle yeah I'm still losing weight it's getting worrying now!

DeladionInch · 25/03/2015 08:44

according to my mW/friend it's totally possible to feel movement, it's just that 2+ timers know what it is. it won't be a reliable guide to how your baby's doing until 20 weeks or more. check out Count The Kicks for proper info on using movement to monitorSmile

babybear9 · 25/03/2015 08:50

@Jessica32 I don't think it's too early. I was sure I felt around 13/14 weeks with my first and kept feeling same thing. At 16 wk appointment pointed to place I felt baby moving and was exactly right for Doppler. I felt this one around 11wks when I rolled into tummy slightly an felt that familiar little flutter. I think everyone feels at different times.

mrsdos · 25/03/2015 10:06

Treacle I am not sure if I am still losing weight or not (I know that sounds stupid!) I haven't gained any weight since about 10 weeks but deffinately getting bigger. Have been a bit worried about it, but mw said its ok, if it continues this way I am hoping it will be easier to get into a bridesmaids dress for my Dsis' wedding a few months after baby arrives

Jessica32 · 25/03/2015 10:06

Worry I know it's supposed to be too early for the 1st, but my understanding is that it takes til later on the 1st because you don't know what you're feeling not because it isn't there, hence 2nd timers feeling it earlier (not because they're physically different) so I was wondering when it was on their 2nd they felt it e.g. was it by 14+ weeks? I guess everyone is different.
Delad it's interesting your mw friend was saying it's just 1st timers don't know what they're feeling. Baby that sounds similar for you, feeling it earlier on your 2nd because you knew what it was. Maybe in a few weeks when I do feel the baby and know for sure that's what it is I'll know if this was it.

THEworrywart · 25/03/2015 10:13

Mrs I'm massive (bump wise) but I'm now 6st when I had to atleast maintain my weight.

Jessica32 · 25/03/2015 10:31

Treacle I put on 3 kilos by 12 weeks but have probably lost a tiny bit in the last 2. I couldn't stop eating which isn't like me at all but that's stopped now. My boobs also went massive by 9 weeks so I think that was a little of the weight. Interestingly my mum said a week or so ago that I might find I even out for a bit now and don't gain anymore for a bit. I'm not at all worried about gaining weight throughout the whole pregnancy as I know it's normal, healthy and the bit that isn't baby etc is for breastfeeding. I was however, a bit 'oh my God' about the rate in which it seemed to be happening! As long as you're eating a healthy diet you probably needn't worry. Everyone's body is different.

Choccyhobnob · 25/03/2015 10:59

I'm terrified of seeing a number that starts with 10 on the scales (stupid I know as I'm going to get MUCH bigger!) I'm always around 9st 4 and would probably expect 3 or 4lbs after Christmas which I could lose quite easily but 5 weeks ago was already 9st 10.....Arrgh! I'm only 5ft 2!

Treaclepie19 · 25/03/2015 11:14

I'm the same - rest of me is disappearing but bump is there.
I think I'm just worrying over everything now that it's another 6 and a half week wait for my 20 week scan.

Jessica32 · 25/03/2015 12:57

choccy if you're eating healthily then any weight your body puts on is completely natural. The average weight gain is 12.5 kilos (2.2 pounds to the kilo) but some people a little more, others a little less. I found it helpful to look up 'weight gain during pregnancy' on the net. It was really interesting to see the breakdown of where the weight comes from. The placenta and even just your uterus on its own ways quite a bit. Only around 4 kilos tends to be general weight, the rest is baby, fluid, extra blood, placenta and muscle built up in your uterus.

ambientolf · 25/03/2015 13:18

I had my 16 week scan today & she found the heartbeat. It was amazing to listen to & I'm so happy it's really put my mind at rest. It's still crazy to think we're growing babies!!

shinjuku09 · 25/03/2015 13:19

Had a lovely scan this morning. Source of bleeding not found but got a really good look at little one again. Lots of chin-scratching!
