Hope it gets sorted llama - you're more patient than I am. I never know why it takes so long to sort these things. Is there a friend who your DH could arrange to swap with if a formal request isn't possible? My mum works Saturdays and they often just swap around amongst themselves and let the management (my mum!) know which is normally easier.

Ah I see. How annoying! Hope he can make it! Mine isn't until the 8th May [drums fingers]

Hare5260 · 11/04/2015 01:38

llama which force does he work for? Met give you 4 hrs for medical appts - if he's early turn it shouldn't be a problem...naff all happens until midday when it goes daft anyway!! Hope he gets it sorted xx

Snowflake15 · 11/04/2015 06:07

Awake already got an early sex scan today, so excited! But also nervous that there'll be nothing thereConfused

DoNotDenyMe · 11/04/2015 07:25

Snap llama, my dh is a police officer too. Smile I'm sure they'll be able to sort something for him. It's only a few hrs... Fingers crossed anyway for you both anyway!

DoNotDenyMe · 11/04/2015 07:26

Treacle I've had the same sorts of feelings and like you, think it's probably baby but not sure. I'm hoping in a few weeks when I can def feel it I will know with hindsight whether it was or wasn't. Marked the date I think I first felt it in my diary though, just in case.

envious I'm not undecided as such about finding out as I don't want to. Just hoping I will be able to resist!

Jessica32 · 11/04/2015 08:29

Oh and Treacle I'll be 17 weeks on Mon

Toffeegirl39 · 11/04/2015 08:34

Hi all just checking in on you !!
Had a busy Easter, now 20 weeks (scan on Tuesday! )
I've been thinking about reuseable nappies this time around too - need a trial thing in glos if anyone knows one?
Also I've got a lot of stuff v cheaply or free on local facebook selling groups or freecycle. Got a cot for £15, baby chair that vibrates (?) free, and a baby bath and loads of clothes-also fee, so worth looking.
We bought a Joolz day for £130, I'm
Just hoping it will be ok. As front wheels are a bit squeaky !!
Re sleeping: my two older ones were in Moses baskets briefly ( they were snuffly and noisy sleepers)! And then on their own room in cot at approx 6 weeks? Ds1 was sleeping through the night by 10 weeks ...
Final thing, is anyone else suddenly feeling enormous?? Can't believe I'm
Only 20 weeks... Shock

Treaclepie19 · 11/04/2015 08:44

Hopefully it is baby then Jessica :)

Last night it felt much more like a fish flopping or smething doing somersaults.

Grrrr so irritating that most maternity jeans are skinny (my legs have always been too 'shapely' for this style) or bootcut (can't bring myself to return to a style I last wore at sixth form college). I want a secondhand pair, and am struggling so far.

Toffeegirl39 · 11/04/2015 09:30

Boodly - chinos?

Boodlymummy · 11/04/2015 09:45

Yeah am tempted by bargainous £22 Next chinos, but I only want one pair of mat trousers (I wear dresses all summer) and worried I'll miss having jeans. Pleased this is my biggest issue right now!

I managed to get a maternity bundle off eBay for £40, probably around £200+ worth of clothes if bought new so pleased, inc 2x jeans, cropped jeans, black work trousers and loads of tops/jumpers. Finally washed them all this morning, now on line and of course its raining :-/ eBay can be hit and miss tho, i was lucky to get them as lots of interest

Llama I don't like overbump either, tried some on and felt smothered. Have decided to take the plunge and try to make my own underbelly pair. Lots of tutorials online make it look like an easy 20min project. Good old internet. I had this weekend earmarked for college work, so this is excellent procrastination! Off to the charity shops I go, to find jeans cheap and nice enough for this endeavour! I'll let you know how I get on...

Toffeegirl39 · 11/04/2015 10:14

Red herring at debenhams have lots of under bump styles quite cheap ?

Toffeegirl39 · 11/04/2015 10:16

I have a pair of skinny mat jeans from h&m but find them hard to take off at the ankles !!
I'm funding leggings and stretchy tops/ dresses/tunics are the only thing that's comfortable. New look leggings are v cheap.

Cornberry · 11/04/2015 11:33

Boodly I've bought a couple of pain of maternity trousers off ebay in excellent condition. I think they tend to be quite good as not used much or for long! Would recommend having a look!

llama the closer I get to my scan next week the less undecided I am as now I'm so curious! Most people (including OH) except my parents say there's little point in waiting to find out. I've let myself be swayed... I just don't think I'll be able to resist if it's possible to find out. I'm so stressed about the abnormality aspect of the scan that it's nice to have the other dimension to think about too :)

shinjuku09 · 11/04/2015 12:20

I'm soooo behind and trying to catch up! Same situation here as lovely in that DD would only sleep in top of someone for the first six months or more. We mostly co slept til a year and in the day she was in the sling a lot. To be honest we will probably do similar with the next unless they love sleeping on their own! Lots of benefits to keeping your baby close for the first six months including reduced cot death risk. Though of course you need to be very careful if you do bed share. Sometimes you have to go with what your baby wants as fighting against it is too stressful!
