haha I think so too, was just playing around with it again now (154bmp) but took forever! DH and I decided the baby doesn't like being spied on and would just like some privacy =P

DeladionInch · 07/04/2015 22:11

anybody interested on cloth nappies, the RNW fin has started - I've already won one Shock Shock Grin Grin

BeautyBoo · 07/04/2015 23:45

Sounds just like my baby crab! My baby also moves away and then comes back again!

I went to the gym on Sunday for the first time in nearly 2 months and just took it really easy but I plan on getting back into my classes and running aswell. My midwife told me that if its exercise I've done before falling pregnant then it's fine to continue. It's good for you and baby and apparently helps with labour too Wink

whereswaldo · 08/04/2015 07:20

Hi everyone. Had my 16 week appointment yesterday- v impressed at how quick and efficient the midwives were. Loved listening to the heartbeat- she found it straight away which was reassuring. 150 bpm... Think that 'means' a girl? Hope everyone else's appointments go well

Maths88 · 08/04/2015 08:33

Was meant to be viewing a house this morning but they've decided to take it off the market. Gutted as it looked perfect. Seems odd when it's been on for 5 months!

Still seeing one other but it needs a bit of work which we really didn't want to have to do!

I'm hating this house hunting process already and we've only been looking a few weeks!

monkeymoonpig · 08/04/2015 08:34

At docs for appt (non preg related), thinking of asking for a listen to babba heartbeat if she has chance.....chances are slim seeing as they say 20wks, but worth a try!

monkeymoonpig · 08/04/2015 08:36

maths i sympathise, i hated house hunting and we didn't really look at many until we had a firm offer on our house. Luckily our current house had been on market for 2wks when we saw it, put offer in next day and it was accepted! So glad, saved a lot of hassle and its perfect :)

ambientolf · 08/04/2015 08:41

monkey don't ask, don't get! I would definitely ask.

Jessica32 · 08/04/2015 08:47

maths I've bought loads! Some clothes though not many, but I went to John Lewis and made a nursery list of pretty much everything I want except nappies, from pram and car seat to swaddle blankets and breast pads. Mum has very kindly bought my pram off the list and I will pay for the rest today. I don't have to pay yet, could buy a little each month. However I was left some money by a relative recently and decided to spend on the baby as she would have loved that and it helps. Once I've paid for an item, they collate it and will hold everything up until 2 weeks before birth when I can have it all delivered together. Helpful as I'm moving house too (dread). Feel sorry for you going through the process of hunting. We've found somewhere now but I think I'd despair if it fell through and we had to start again. Survey happening soon so fingers crossed. I really hope you find somewhere you like as emotionally I don't think this is a great time for us to be leaving our nests!

Whatabout · 08/04/2015 08:51

I would say don't buy too many swaddled blankets, I did and my son loathed them and they were never used! Shops won't shut after baby is born if you find you need more of something. Keep receipts and don't open everything. Tempting to open every packet and wash everything.

monkeymoonpig · 08/04/2015 08:54

Well no luck with listening to heartbeat but have to sit and wait 10mins as my BP and pulse is a bit high apparently :-( fingers crossed it goes down, the mw's are doing it every fortnight manually and are reall happy with it. These stupid machines in the docs surgery are never very reliable

monkeymoonpig · 08/04/2015 08:56

ambient thanks -will def pluck up courage to ask! My plan is to try and make myself as useful and irreplaceable as ever so that they take it all into account! Off to see owner shortly to offer to take over accounts whilst everything is mental busy, see if i can relieve pressure for them. Hope my cunning plan works lol!

Stanway · 08/04/2015 13:39

Anyone got any low rib pain? Have dull ache, almost like bruise, on the left.

Jessica32 · 08/04/2015 14:30

Thanks whatabout That's good advice on the blankets and the rest.

bonzo77 · 08/04/2015 18:25

We never got on with swaddle things for our 2. For the brief period they were swaddled I used flat cot sheets or towels.

16 week appointment today. HB heard loud and clear! DS1 was utterly transfixed. Will try to post the audio.

Treaclepie19 · 08/04/2015 20:29

16 week appointment for me today too.
So jealous of those of you who got to hear the heartbeat.
My appointment was useless.

CommanderShepard · 08/04/2015 20:53

Ugh, sorry to hear that, Treacle :(

Another one saying don't go crazy on swaddling blankets; save your money for sleeping bags! And seriously, as whatabout said the shops will still be open in September, even 24 hour Tescos; don't feel pressured to buy everything now to 'be prepared'. They really don't need much as newborns.

The only thing I think you ever need more of than you think you will is maternity pads, because take it from me, the lochia even from c-sections is astonishing! You can always take unopened packs back but the NHS will not, contrary to popular belief in some circles, provide pads for you unless it's a dire emergency.

That said, can anyone recommend washable breast pads? I tried some last time and they were absolutely friffing useless and all the milk just ran straight down them. I got on best with the Mothercare comfort fit extra absorbent as they fold them into a semicircle and seal them partway round, so when you open them up they're more cup shaped - if I could find something like that that'd be rad.

Fluffin · 08/04/2015 21:53

Treacle, mine was a wash too. Didnt gett to hear heartbeat and had to wait 40 minutes for a 15 minute check up. The hour driving helped my mood too :).

DoNotDenyMe · 08/04/2015 22:01

16wk midwife appt here too. It was literally half an hour after a massive tantrum had by my dd. Everything good (even blood pressure) and dd decided to behave like an angel - talk about mood swings Wink Lovely strong heartbeat and uterus is where I thought I could feel it just below tummy button.
I've been feeling sensations for past wk or two now (i'm 17+2)-though not yet strong enough to feel from the outside.
Hope you're all feeling well!

Treaclepie19 · 08/04/2015 23:00

Oh no Fluffin :(
Mine was a 15 min wait for a 15 min appointment. She just checked my bp and urine and rang about my blood results.

I really had to push to ask questions and those I managed to ask she just said to see the doctor.

Does anyone know when you get your MATB1 form?

OP posts:
ovumahead · 08/04/2015 23:07

I think you get the matb1 after the 20 week scan, maybe 24 weeks?

bonzo77 · 09/04/2015 07:19

I've got the matb1 at the 25 week appt in the past. My yellow notes say 25 weeks.

Snowflake15 · 09/04/2015 07:20

24 weeks seems so late! Employers need it by 25Confused

ambientolf · 09/04/2015 07:22

I have a midwife app a week after my scan to get my MATB1 form. I was surprised because I also get a 25 week midwife app x

ovumahead · 09/04/2015 07:38

It's a depressing reason why it's so late - basically if you lose the baby after 24 weeks you can still take maternity leave. Before then, you can't.
